Today was the day of April's first fashion shoot, and Peter was recording the entire thing. April walked down the catwalk like it was second nature; no doubt, all that training from MJ was paying off. She wore an adorable dress and just enough make-up to stand out.

"She's so beautiful," said MJ in tears.

"That she is," Peter nodded.

May and her friends waved at her as she walked by, cheering her on.

After everything had settled down, they met up with April backstage.

"You were amazing, sweetheart," said MJ hugging her.

"Thanks, Mama," April beamed.

"I'm so proud of you," said Peter.

"You really stole the show, April," said May.

"I wish I could be as elegant as you, April," said Courtney.

"I'm so jealous," said Davida.

"April, darling," said Edna as she walked up, "you were absolutely superb, darling. I'd say that you would give your mother a run for her money."

"I wouldn't go that far," said April. "I only did what Mama taught me to do."

"But you put your own swing on it," said MJ, bending down. "Trust me, April, you'll outshine me someday."

Edna then turned to Peter. "Ah, I presume that you're April's father."

"Peter Parker," said Peter, extending his hand.

"Charmed," she said without shaking it. "You should be immensely proud of your daughter."

"Believe me, I am," said Peter, smiling at April. "Just remember not to let the success go to your head. Charm and elegance means nothing if you have a rotten personality."

April nodded. "Okay, Papa."

Edna looked at Peter, somewhat surprised. "I had no idea that you were so engrossed with the fashion industry."

Peter shrugged. "When you're married to a glamorous supermodel, you have to take these things into account."

When they returned to the apartment, Peter showed a prototype version of the new device he was working on. He also showed a holographic image of a picture he had just taken with the device.

"Cool," said the girls.

"I call it the Webware," he said. "This is just a prototype, but still, everyone will have it. It's like a portable phone but with unlimited access. With this, you can call just about anyone anywhere in the world. You can be stuck in the Sahara desert and be able to phone for help instantly."

"That's amazing, Papa," said May excitedly.

"You really outdid yourself, Tiger," MJ smiled. "But the name? I thought you wanted to keep Spider-Man a safe distance from the company."

"I do, but with this device, you can be connected to the web no matter where you are, so the name fits. I'm also hoping to make more advanced versions for the police and the military; it will help them track down criminals."

"You never cease to amaze me, Peter," said MJ.

Peter then got up. "Time for me to go on patrol; I'll see you girls in the morning."

"Good night!" they said in unison.

Peter found the night rather quiet until he suddenly saw a bright purple light coming from a warehouse. He scoured through the warehouse and found some technology that was familiar to him but still somewhat out of place.

He soon discovered whose lead he was in when he found an empty fishbowl. Then, suddenly, his spider-sense tingled, and he turned around to find Mysterio standing there with a metal pipe in his hand.

He easily dodged the attack and quickly overpowered him, but something seemed off. For some reason, he seemed surprised to see him and suspected that it had nothing to do with the fact that he stumbled across his secret lair, but that didn't stop him from webbing him up.

"I missed out when you died the first time," said Mysterio as he struggled to free himself. "Not this time!"

"What are you talking about, you complete mental case?" Peter asked, confused, gesturing to the column of purple light behind him. "What is this thing?"

Peter had absolutely no idea what this was and was tempted to call Reed and Tony. However, he felt his spider-sense tingling and quickly jumped out of the way just as Mysterio fired his gun. He missed hitting him, but he ended up hitting the generator, unleashing the strange energy.

"NOO!" he cried as the two of them were sucked in.

Peter suddenly found himself outside, and more surprisingly, it was in the middle of the day. He looked out and saw some structure just off the shore that hadn't been there this morning.

He first four, but it was some sort of trek from Mysterio, an illusion of some kind. However, everything seemed to be pretty, really. He then decided to head back home, knowing that MJ was no doubt worried about him.

However, when he got to his apartment, he found that it was occupied by an unknown woman who had just came out of the bathroom, which was more than a little awkward. He then stopped the mugging the victim asked him if he was really Peter Parker.

Peter had no idea what was happening, but things got even more confusing when a teenage Spider-Man appeared in front of him, wearing a costume similar to his, except it was black and red.

"No way," said the unknown Spider-Man.

"Okay, what's the deal?" Peter asked.

"You tell me," said the other Spider-Man.

"Is this some sort of clone thing?" Peter groaned.

"What's a clone thing?"

"You tell me."

"I thought this was some kind of Nick Fury test."

"Is it?"

"You tell me."

"Okay, this is getting us nowhere," said Peter, rubbing his forehead. "Just how old are you, kid?"

The Spider-Man in front of him looked at him as if he had just seen a ghost. "Wait, you're not really Peter Parker, are you?"

"What?"

"Oh my God, you are!" he gasped. "I thought you'd be shorter, but man, this is huge. I was hoping, I mean one day, that you'd—you'd…"

"Kid, you're really starting to freak me out," said Peter, who immediately fired a web line at him.

The kid leaned back, avoiding the attack. "Did you see that? I completely dodged it. Not bad for a—"

While he was busy celebrating, Peter took advantage of this and kicked him back.

"Word of advice, kid: focus on the enemy in front of you," said Peter. "Now, are you gonna tell me what's going on?"

"Look, I just want to talk to you," he said.

Peter fired another web line, but the kid dodged it and began geeking out again.

"Hey, other real web-shooters?" he asked. "Are they mechanical or organic?"

"Who are you?!" Peter asked, starting to lose his patience.

"Dude, I'm Spider-Man, too," he said. "And you're the one who showed out of nowhere, freaking me out."

"Because I'm freaked out!"

"If it's because you're Peter Parker, I won't tell anyone," he promised. "The only problem is everyone knows exactly who you are if you're going around dressed like that."

Whoever this kid was, he was very good, indicating he indeed had spider powers, but he didn't appear to have any webs. Unfortunately, Peter soon discovered that he had a better blast similar to that of Spider-Woman; not only that, but he also had the ability to make himself invisible.

However, he had more experience and began to get the upper hand. He even managed to remove his mask after discovering that he was African-American. However, that proved to be a mistake as the kid immediately lashed out and knocked him out with his venom blast.

When Peter regained consciousness, he found himself in a secure cell without his mask or web-shooters.

"What happened?" he said, rubbing his head.

"Hello, Peter," said a voice.

Peter turned and saw a bold African-American with an eyepatch looking at him from the other side of an energy grid.

"Who are you?" Peter asked.

"Nick Fury, director of SHIELD."

"Of course you are," Peter sighed.

"Do you know me?"

"I know the name."

"Are you Peter Parker?"

"Not sure how to answer that," Peter sighed.

"It is a straightforward question."

The question was anything but straightforward, and Peter still had no idea what was going on. First, he found himself on a rooftop in broad daylight. He then discovered that someone else was living in his apartment, and everyone seemed to know his secret identity. There was another Spider-Man, and now he was having a conversation with a different Nick Fury.

That's when all the pieces started coming together, and he realised what was happening.

"I'm in a parallel universe," he said.

"Ah, that old chestnut," Fury nodded.

"So, can you tell me where I am and who was that kid?" Peter asked.

Fury rose to his feet and deactivated the cell. "Come with me…"

He escorted Peter outside and found that he was in a place called the Triskelion, which was SHIELD's headquarters. He discovered that it was night and then met the other Spider-Man.

"Peter Parker meet Miles Morales," said Fury.

"So really is him?" said Miles excitedly.

"Sort of," said Fury. "He is Peter Parker, but he's just not our Peter Parker."

"Is that why he's old?" Miles asked.

"I'm not that old," Peter protested.

"He's 13," Fury chuckled. "We all look 80 to him."

"This is fun and all, but this doesn't help me get back home," said Peter.

"True, which is why Miles here is gonna show you what happened to our Peter Parker," said Fury. "In the meantime I'll try and figure out how he ended up here and try and get you back. A dimensional looked like this is a serious matter."

"So, how much do you want me to tell him?" Miles asked.

"All of it," said Fury as he walked away.

Peter soon joined Miles and helicopters as they made their way back to the city.

"So tell me, Miles, is Peter Parker dead?" Peter asked.

Before Miles could answer his question, something struck the helicopter, knocking out the engine.

"Grab the pilot!" Peter yelled.

Miles did what he was told and grabbed the pilot before grabbing Peter, who fired a web line. Fortunately, they were close enough to the harbour, so he was able to swing them down safely.

"What's going on?" Miles asked.

"You're asking me?" Peter frowned. "This is your universe, but I think we should ask him."

Down on the ground, they could see someone down there with a burning head, and it was not Ghost Rider.

"The universe gives me two Spideer-Men to kill for the price of one," he said with a familiar voice.

"I know that guy," said Miles as they landed on the pier. "I saw him online. It's-it's Mysterioso."

"How are you two able to find each other so quickly?" Mysterio grumbled. "How can the only two Spider-Men find each other so—"

"I got this!" said Miles and launched himself at Mysterio, swinging his fist.

Unfortunately, his fist went straight through his head, revealing that it was just a hologram. The body, however, was real as he grabbed Miles, tossing him into Peter before blasting the two of them and knocking them into the bay.

Then, he created illusions of their villains, but they soon discovered that they were very much real. However, Peter figured out that he was using some chemical, which made them believe they were taking hits, and their bodies responded to it.

"Maybe attacking you is too pedestrian," said Mysterio. "But I can still strand you in an unknown world where everyone thinks you're dead."

His body then went limp, and then there was an explosion.

Fortunately, Peter was able to pull Miles out of them in time, but the kid was now out cold. He felt bad leaving him here, but he had to know what was going on, so he went on his own.

Fortunately, he still had his Webware on him, and there was Internet in this universe. He looked up a report in the Daily Bugle, which confirmed that he had died and was still in high school. This was rather devastating as he had no idea how to get back to his family.

However, if this world had similarities to his universe, he wondered if he still had an Aunt May.

He immediately went to Queens and discovered that he indeed had an Aunt May, who was still living in her old house, but there was a for sale sign out in front.

He noticed that many people had gathered outside, staring at him, and that's when the door opened. Aunt May stepped out with a young Gwen Stacy, much to his surprise.

"How dare you?!" Aunt May yelled furiously. "Get out of here, you lunatic!"

"I'll call the police!" Gwen warned.

Peter then took off his mask in the standard him in shock.

"Hey, Aunt May," said Peter, unsure on how to respond. "And it's to you, Gwen. Boy, you're still so young."

Aunt May slowly approached an enterprising by slapping him across the face, and Gwen charged in and began beating him up.

"You think this is funny?" she yelled between hits. "Do you have a soul? Do you have a reason to live?"

"Wait! Don't!" Miles yelled as he swung in. He quickly pulled her off of him and tried to defuse the situation. "Okay, let's all cool down."

"What the hell is this, man? What are you doing?" Gwen demanded.

"It's a long story, but this is actually Peter Parker," said Miles.

Aunt May and Gwen just stared at them, stunned, and Aunt May fainted.

They carried Aunt May back into the house and laid on the sofa. Peter and Miles then went upstairs and explained that Peter was actually from a parallel universe, though Miles seemed more interested in his web-shooters.

"Sorry for beating you up," said Gwen.

"No, I had it coming," said Peter. "I should've known that coming here was a bad idea. I don't even know I came here in the first place."

"To be with family," said Gwen.

"I'm surprised that you live here with Aunt May," said Peter honestly.

"My dad died, and my mom bailed, so the other you and May took me in."

"Whoa, the differences are amazing," said Peter.

"So you may need another me in your universe?" said Gwen excitedly.

"Yep," Peter nodded.

"So, are you dating her?" Gwen asked curiously.

"We did, but then one of my enemies threw you off a bridge and killed you."

Gwen looked at him silently. "I'm dead?"

"Yeah, but don't worry, a powerful wizard brought you back to life and then sent you into the past to change the alterations that an interdimensional demon inflicted on me. He also gave you spider powers, and now you're my partner in crime, known as Ghost Spider."

Gwen looked at him blankly. "That is so freaking."

"Yeah, in my universe, the dead don't always stay dead," said Peter as he leaned back.

"Actually, the same could be said for this universe as well," said Gwen. "I died and was back to life."

"Guess something universal."

"Speaking of universal. Since you're not dating me anymore, I can only assume that you're dating MJ," Gwen sighed.

"Dating her? I'm married to her," said Peter, showing his wedding ring.

Miles stopped what he was doing instead of him. "You're married?"

"Yep," Peter nodded. "So there's an MJ in your universe?"

"Uh, yes," said Gwen, taken aback. "I did actually call her and—"

"Is she a model?" Peter asked.

"A model?" Gwen blinked.

"In my universe, she's a supermodel and an actress."

"Supermodel?!" Gwen cried. "Are you kidding me? You manage to marry a supermodel?"

"Yeah," Peter nodded, and then he saw Aunt May had just arrived. "Are you—are you okay?"

Gwen instantly rushed to her feet and approached her. "May, May, there are other universes! There's a whole other you and me! And Peter is totally alive. This is really him."

"We don't know that," she said.

"Oh, it's him."

"We don't know."

"It's him," said Miles as he fumbled with Peter's web-shooters.

Aunt May looked at him. "Are you living here now?"

Peter shook his head. "No. I have to get back to my universe. I kinda came here by accident. Mysterio kinda broke a dimensional wall, and I wound up here."

"You have another me in your universe?" Aunt May asked.

"Yes," Peter nodded. "And she raised me. You and Uncle Ben."

"Is he alive too?" she asked.

"No," said Peter, shaking his head. "But he's the reason why I do this. When I first got these powers, I thought I could have saved him, but I didn't. It was then that I learned with great power…"

"…comes with great responsibility," Aunt May finished and then burst into tears, hugging him tightly. "It really is you. We lost you. We lost you and then got the chance to say goodbye. Now you're all grown up."

"So, did you know the other me was Spider-Man before he died?" Peter asked.

"Yes," Aunt May nodded, releasing him.

"But we kinda knew for a while," said Gwen.

"Did the world know?" Peter asked.

"No," said Gwen. "Only a handful of people knew about you like us, MJ and Norman Osborn."

"Osborn," Peter groaned.

"I take it you had your own run-ins with Norman Osborn," said Gwen.

"That's putting it mildly," said Peter. "He became the Green Goblin and spent his entire life mission trying to make my life a misery. He's the one who killed you; he kidnapped Aunt May and faked her death; he then kidnapped my daughter and had her cloned…"

"Wait, you have a daughter?" Aunt May stared.

"Yeah, apparently he and MJ are married," said Gwen.

"Let me show you," said Peter, showing them his Webware and then showing them a holographic image of May and April. "This is May and April."

"They're so adorable," said Aunt May. "Are they twins?"

"Actually, April is a clone, but we still count as a daughter," said Peter.

"So you two had problems with clones, huh?" Gwen assumed.

"Yeah, I guess something universal," Peter shrugged.

"What is that thing?" Miles asked curiously, looking at the Webware.

"Oh, I call it the Webware," said Peter.

"Wait, you make this?" Miles asked.

They then heard a knock on the door.

"Looks like times up," said Gwen as she looked out the window.

They went downstairs and saw Nick Fury with a bunch of agents to escort them away. As he was climbing into the car, Peter got a brief glimpse of a young MJ, but when she looked at him, she immediately ran off, crying.

"So do you have Nick Fury where you're from?" Miles asked.

"Oh yes," Peter nodded.

"What's he like?" Fury asked curiously.

"Uh, white."

"Sorry to hear that."

They made it all the way back to the Triskelion, where Peter encountered another familiar face, Tony Stark.

"Hey, Tony," said Peter.

"You know me?" said Tony, surprised.

"I know a you."

"Yeah?" said Tony curiously.

Peter looked at the glass of whiskey in his hand. "But he stopped drinking a long time ago."

"I like yours already," said Fury.

"I would stop drinking if you'd stop dropping impossible equations of interdimensional travel onto my lap," said Tony. "If I could find this Mysterio, I could find a way to put all this together. But I don't know whether the breaking point of the dimensional loop started from because I don't know where Mysterio started this whole mess. It could be anywhere. Meaning I can't start the equation to get this Peter Parker home because I don't know where the equation begins."

"Mind if I take a look?" Peter asked, taking his tablet from him.

"You're a scientist."

"I got a PhD."

"You any good?"

"I was able to start my own company."

Miles looked at him. "You run your own company and married a supermodel?"

"He did what?!" Tony stared.

Fury rolled his eyes. "Can we get to the point? We need to find out where Mysterio started this whole mess."

"I think I know," said Miles as he looked at the monitors, which showed the image of Mysterio. "That building is from Brooklyn. I recognise it from my room at home."

"What are these images?" Peter asked

"He's been broadcasting ranting on the web," Tony explained.

"He was always theatrical."

"Either way, we now have a way to pinpoint him," said Fury as he reached for his comm.

Within moments, Peter was swinging through the city with Miles and the Ultimates, this universe's version of the Avengers, along with Fury and some of his agents. They were able to locate Mysterio broadcast from a warehouse and were now waiting for the portal to open.

Sure enough, the portal opened, and Peter immediately fired some webbing, pulling Mysterio through.

"No!" he yelled.

He tried to jump back through, but Peter pulled him back. "Come on, Mysterio. We went through all the trouble trying to figure out where your lab was and waited for you to open your little portal so we could surprise you. You could at least have the decency to stick around."

Fury then pulled out his radio. "This is eagle one. Get the science R and D team ready to set up shop at my location. We have an open interdimensional portal."

"An unstable dimensional portal," Tony corrected.

"An unstable dimensional portal," Fury repeated.

"And I could not be more excited," said Tony excitedly. "This is my Christmas."

"You're not jumping through that portal, Stark," said Fury flatly.

Tony turned around and lifted his visor to look at him. "Oh, yes, I am."

"No, you're not," said Fury.

"Just for a day."

"The only person going through that portal is Peter Parker. Then, once he's home, we're shutting this portal down for good."

Peter looked at Miles. "Guess it's time to say goodbye."

"I know this isn't entirely accurate, but I'm happy that I was able to work with Spider-Man."

"Nooo!" Mysterio tried pulling himself free from their grasp.

He then dived towards a nearby computer and typed in a few codes, causing a series of explosions.

"You don't think I wasn't prepared ten steps ahead of you all!" he yelled triumphantly.

He then dropped a few files onto the ground, and soon, everyone began seeing hallucinations of their worst nightmare. Everyone was confused. Mysterio used the opportunity to dive into the portal, but Miles dived in after him.

"Whoa," said Miles when he looked out the window and saw that it was daytime.

Mysterio tried are taken by surprise, but thanks to his spider-sense, Miles managed to dodge the attack. He then performed a dropkick, pushing the two of them back into the portal and back into his universe, where everyone immediately arrested him.

"You can't keep me here!" Mysterio cried as they cuffed him. "I don't belong here!"

"You should have thought about that before you went and acted like a fool," said Fury.

"So you keep them here?" Peter asked.

"I'm assuming that no one knows your Spider-Man," Fury assumed.

"Only a few people."

"Then I think he's better off here."

Peter then turned to Miles. "Hey… thank you."

"For what?" Miles frowned.

"You know, for keep doing this."

"So you're cool with it?"

"Absolutely, you have my blessing," said Peter then shook hands with Fury. "And thanks for getting me home."

Peter then began making his way to the portal before looking back at Miles. "Word of advice. Don't let anyone clone you, and only date one girl at a time. And remember, you can do as much good as Miles Morales."

"I'll try to remember that," said Miles.

Peter then stepped through the portal, and it closed behind him instantly.

"So you got his blessing," said Fury, placing a hand on Miles' shoulder.

"That was crazy," said Miles.

"You earned it, kid. Now you have to keep earning it."

Once he was back home, MJ hugged and held onto him tightly.

"Do you know how worried I was!" she cried. "What the hell happened to you?"

Once he finally got her to calm down, Peter explained his entire ordeal.

"So you went to a parallel universe where you died, Nick Fury is black, we're still teenagers, and Gwen is living at your place?" MJ stared.

"You missed out the whole African-American Spider-Man, who took up my mantel after I died."

MJ just shook her head. "You have some crazy adventures, you know that, right?"

"I'm beginning to notice that as well," Peter sighed. "I'm sorry I made you worry, MJ."

"It's okay, Peter; I'm just glad you're back and unharmed," she said, kissing his cheek. "Now, I suggest you go and take a hot shower."

"I will. I just want to look something up," he said as he grabbed his laptop.

"What are you looking up?" MJ asked curiously.

"I want to see if there is a Miles Morales in this universe," he said as he went through the search engine. "And I think I just found… Oh, my God."

MJ looked over his shoulder, and her eyes widened.

Joe Kelly is taking over from Zeb Wells. I was hoping for a writer who was not part of the post One More Day, but he can't be any worse than Zeb Wells. I don't know what he's planning with his 8 Death of Spider-Man story, but I hope the Marvel editorial finally realises what we true Spider-Man fans want.
