A Challenge For Brad Part 3
"Hey, Drifter Wannabe! Where's the teacher?" Neville taunted Lisa.
"Don't you worry, Neville Cowlin," Lisa said. "Brad will be here!"
"She's probably fixing her makeup." Neville smirked.
Sure enough, Brad entered the ring on Delilah.
"Good morning, class, I am Bradley Taylor," Brad said. "but you may call me Brad."
"You are our teacher," Veronica huffed. "you're just a kid yourself!"
"That will be quite enough of that, Veronica," Brad scolded sharply. "you're jumping first."
"But of course, Miss Bradley." Veronica said.
As Veronica began to jump the course, Neville turned to Lisa, "Max must really be scraping the bottom of the Barrel hiring a kid to train us for the championships." he snorted.
"Neville," Lisa said, her patience wearing thin. "if you had bothered to ask Max about Brad, you might have learned that she won her state's championships three times in a row! So, yeah, I think we could learn something from her."
Neville just scowled, he hated it when Lisa got the better of him.
Before Neville could think of a comeback, their attention was brought back to the lesson by Brad's voice.
"Hold it, Veronica," she was saying. "you need to slow down on that turn, or you won't be able to line Garnet up properly for that double jump."
"I think I know what I'm doing," Veronica huffed. "when I was in France, I had master classes with Jean Renoir."
Brad was tempted to retort, but instead 'bit her tongue'. "be that as it may, you still need to practice that turn again, if you don't line up properly, your horse could be injured making that jump." she added.
At this, a strange look, almost a sadness washed over Veronica's face.
Brad noticed it but wasn't sure what it meant.
Veronica brought Garnet to a stop and dismounted.
