Holly took Celia home and then came back home to a pretty quiet house. She found Seana and Robert sitting and coloring. "Can I join?"
Robert looked up and then looked at Seana. "What do you say?"
Seana smiled and nodded. "Yes."
Holly sat down next to Robert and picked up a crayon. "She's making it a mission to cover our fridge, aren't you?"
Seana giggled. "Pretty it up!"
Robert grinned. She sounded a lot like Tiff with that statement. "Did Grandma Tiff teach you that?"
Seana nodded.
"That world needs more of Tiff's sass in it." Holly said as she looked lovingly at her granddaughter. "But you know, I think it's almost time to get you ready for bed. We must never skip out on our beauty sleep."
"Right!" Seana sat her crayon down. "Snack?"
"I think your Grandma Holly and I could be talked into maybe giving you a couple of cookies and milk." Robert told Seana as he stood up.
"Please!" Seana looked at them both excitedly.
"Of course." Holly took Seana to help her get ready for bed while Robert got the cookies and milk ready.
Jayne walked into the kitchen. "Oh, hi dad."
"Hi, babe. Up to some cookies and milk with your parents and niece?" Robert asked.
"Thank you, but JJ and I were actually going to go spend a little time with Rose tonight. Joe's death is still hitting her and JJ pretty hard." Jayne told her father, she knew it would be something the two of them would be feeling for a long time.
"He was a good man, so is his son. I really think you two are good for each other." Robert told Jayne. Since JJ showed up, she seemed happier. As if she found the final piece that was missing.
"I know we are. I really thought I could find this with someone else, but when JJ showed up, I realized it's only him." Jayne told her father. "It also helps that you and mum are so supportive of us."
"Why wouldn't we be?" Robert asked, a bit confused by the comment.
Jayne looked down. She knew this was all in the past, but it still hurt. "Alistair, when I told him about JJ and I before, he basically made me feel like I wasn't good enough. Deflated me in a way." The pain in her voice was still noticeable.
Robert reached over and took her hand. "That bastard has never been good enough. That is why he always tried to tear you down."
Jayne nodded as she looked at the man who was her true father, a man she really admired. "I always wondered what it would be like to have a father like you. Someone who truly cared and wanted me to be happy."
"And now you've got it, and I have a wonderful daughter, who is the best of your mum and me. I really lucked out." Robert went over to give Jayne a hug.
Jayne hugged Robert and smiled. "I love you so much, dad."
"I love you too, luv." Robert hugged his younger daughter tightly.
JJ walked into the kitchen. "Hey, are you ready to go?"
Jayne nodded. "Yes, I am. I'll see you and mum later."
"Count on it." Robert smiled. "You two be careful."
After the two of them left, Seana and Holly came into the kitchen. "Someone is ready for her cookies."
Robert picked them up, and the three of them went and sat while Seana ate them. Robert and Holly had her brush her teeth, then tucked her in.
Once up in their room, Robert looked at Holly. "I need to make your family pay."
Holly was caught off guard. Where was this coming from? "Why now?"
"It's Jayne." Robert stated.
