Chapter 12: Moonlander (4/4)
Jon Arryn:
"How is he doing?" Jon asked the older man standing in front of him.
"Not good, my Lord." An old Maester with a shaved head told him. "My knowledge of this illness is quite limited, but I can tell that Lord Grafton's body has already sustained a considerable amount of damage from it." That was a kind way of putting it, since Jon noticed patches of skin falling off of him.
"How long does he have?" Jon asked him in wonder despite everything indicating that he won't last long.
"Perhaps three moons, maybe more depending on a few factors." The Maester informed him. "I suggest avoiding contact with him as I am uncertain if the illness is contagious." Jon himself wondered that.
"Several of mine and Lord Grafton 's guards, Petyr Baelish and I were all in the same room as him." Jon revealed to the Maester in concern.
"Did you have any direct contact, a handshake perhaps?" The Maester inquired as he observed Jon closely.
"No, but some of his guards helped carry him here." Jon was sure that he wasn't in danger, but the guards did touch him quite a bit.
"Then I must examine the guards immediately." The Maester decided to not waste time. "Excuse me, Lord Arryn."
After his meeting with Lord Grafton, Jon decided to escort him back to his home after he collapsed in front of him. He purposely avoided his wife as he didn't know if she was involved or not.
Jon sighed and rubbed his eyes for a bit before turning around and proceeding to make his way back to his cousin's home. He practically spent the rest of the night standing and it was daylight already. The Hand of the King was exhausted and wanted to do nothing more than lay on a bed and sleep. But he knew that wasn't a possibility at the moment. I must send a raven to King's Landing. What Lord Grafton told him was very alarming to say the least and he needed to send a message to Stannis as he's the only one that he can actually trust to look into it. If he does find something about it, I will have to warn Tywin Lannister , Mace Tyrell, Hoster Tully, Eddard Stark and even Doran Martell. Each of them will need to deal with this problem themselves, though Jon intends to make it clear that the crown will be ready to offer aid if needed.
Tywin, Doran and Ned can solve it themselves. Jon was sure of it.
Tywin would ruthlessly dispatch whoever is organizing this meeting. He wouldn't take it kindly of someone selling smuggled goods right under his home.
Ned would be able to locate the smuggler and will execute him himself. Things would be so much easier if Ned had accepted the position in the small council. Having someone else that he trusted helping him rule the kingdom would certainly make his duties a lot easier.
Doran, in truth, Jon has no idea how he would deal with this since he doesn't know the man personally. His brother on the other hand had quite the reputation and he would probably take care of things for him.
Mace Tyrell and Hoster Tully will probably have someone more competent solve it for him.
In truth, Jon thinks that Mace Tyrell was nothing more than a fat buffoon just like his father, but thankfully, his family and bannerman are the polar opposite of him in terms of intelligence and competency.
The Blackfish can effectively deal with this. Jon had a very high opinion of Brynden Tully, in contrast to his brother Hoster Tully, whom Jon had a very low opinion of. Ever since the man practically forced Ned to marry his late brother's betrothed in exchange of the Tully's support in the war. Poor Ned was in love with Ashara Dayne and he had to give his love for her up for justice. Thankfully, Ned and Catelyn grew to love each other over time and that brings Jon comfort.
And to think Hoster also tried to have me marry his youngest daughter. He remembers the girl, Lysa Tully. A foolish girl who gave herself to her father's ward and became pregnant with his child. The fact that Hoster tried to have Jon marry a defiled girl that was pregnant with a bastard was quite insulting to say the least, but Jon was willing to do it for the sake of the Rebellion and his wards. Looking back, I genuinely feel bad for the girl. Jon was able to delay the wedding until the child was born which turned out to be the right decision since Lysa Tully died giving birth to the child, sparing Jon from having to marry that loose girl. And to think that the one that defiled the girl had the audacity to challenge Eddard's brother to a duel for Catelyn's hand. Jon remembers the story with amusement, because he could only imagine what Brandon was thinking during that event. What was the ward's name again... Peter, Pater, Petyr...
Then Jon realized something.
As he quietly pondered his new discovery however, he passed by a window and realized something strange. "Huh?"Jon stuck his head out of the window to see it better and realized something incredibly strange in the sky.
Raziel Baratheon:
"Dammit!" After losing enough altitude, Raziel realized that he was descending way too fast and that he might crash on one of the buildings if he's not careful enough. Unfortunately, he wasn't strong enough to be able to control the device properly in the current condition thanks mostly to the heavy sea wind that was coming from the harbor. The buildings of Gulltown were the main concern as he was doing his best to try to maneuver the Winged Knight's device in order to keep himself from colliding with a building.
As expected, several of Gulltown's inhabitants saw him and began to gather around to see the strange thing falling from the sky. I have a feeling that I'm going to get loads and loads of questions about this... Which was kind of annoying to him since he already gets way too many about what happened in the cave against the hill tribe.
The closer and closer he gets to Gulltown, the more Raziel thinks about how exactly he is going to ask Jon about Mya. I'll just be blunt. Though, he definitely doesn't plan on revealing that he put his tongue inside of his sister's mouth. I have a feeling that I can't really tell anyone about it for the same reason that I can't tell about the times my mother puts her tongue inside my mouth. Even though he himself doesn't understand the problem with it.
It took him less than a minute for him to completely reach Gulltown, fortunately, without crashing into any of the buildings there. Slowly reaching the center of port city.
Jon Arryn:
"What in the Seven's name was that?" Jon asks in deep confusion as he moves towards the center of Gulltown after something exceptionally strange descended from the sky.
Despite being very tired, he rushed towards the center with some of his guards since the guards that helped carry Lord Grafton had to stay behind to get examined by the Maester.
"It came out of nowhere." One of the guards pointed out.
"It was enormous." Another guard spoke.
Jon rushed out of Lord Grafton's home in order to go see what in the world was that. Clearly , he wasn't the only one as the majority of the population of Gulltown gathered around the center to see what in the world just descended from the sky.
"There!" One of the guards pointed at the sky as they saw the strange looking thing casting a shadow from above as it passed by the building.
"Lord Arryn, it fell on the center." One of the guards pointed out.
Jon heard him and immediately rushed towards the center alongside his guards. Once he reached the center of Gulltown however, he came across a large crowd of people that were circling around the thing that fell from the sky.
The Hand of the King moved forward with his guards surrounding him, as the crowd was making a considerable amount of noise. Getting closer, the guards began pushing the people in order to allow Jon to walk past them. It was considerably difficult as there were a lot of people there. But eventually, he reached the center.
"What?" However , Jon was very confused as all that he saw was a strange looking and large piece of cloth on the ground. Causing the old man to sigh in response. That's it? He was feeling relatively stupid over the fact that he and everyone else overreacted over such a small thing.
"Huh?!" Until he actually saw something moving from beneath the cloth. Which caused him and everyone to be visibly afraid.
His guards drew their swords and stepped forward, but Jon signalled them to stop and stay put.
All that he and everyone else did was watch as whatever or whoever was beneath that piece of cloth struggled to get out from under it.
Slowly, it managed to crawl until the end of the cloth. Lifting up and stepping out from under it.
Only for Jon to widen his eyes in deep and shocking surprise when he saw who it was. "Raziel!?" Before immediately stepping forward to speak to him.
"That's Raziel Baratheon?!"
"The Crown Prince!?"
"How the hell did he get here?!"
Unsurprisingly, everyone began to question why and how he got there, a question that Jon himself had.
Raziel Baratheon:
That was awful! Raziel screamed internally as the landing was beyond terrible. Not only did he not fall in the stop he wanted but he also stumbled and nearly fell on his face when he touched the ground. Alongside the fact that the device fell on him and the material was quite difficult to crawl under it. Maybe if I leaned back a bit and bent my knees before my feet touched the ground, I could have landed better. He thought about how to improve his landing as he removed the rope that was wrapped around his body.
As he did however, he heard several people's voices alongside the sound of steps approaching him. Moving his head to the side, he realized a large crowd of people were staring at him in deep confusion, but he paid no attention to them. Because the person that he wanted to see was approaching him.
"Raziel!?" Jon Arryn approached him with visible confusion in his face. "Wha-" He then moved his old face to look at the device. "How in the seven's names did you get here?!"
"I used that to fly here." Raziel bluntly told the man that he regarded as his grandfather.
"Y-you did what?!" Jon apparently didn't hear him right.
"I used that thing over there to fly all the way here." He repeated the exact words while pointing at the device. "
"What are you sayin-" Jon was about to speak in denial of his claim but Raziel wasn't in the mood for that.
"Is Mya Stone really my sister?" So he asked him what he came all the way down there to ask. Despite the fact that he already knew the answer.
"What?" Jon was still in shock by his claim, but Raziel didn't care.
"I promise to explain all about that thing but only after you answer my question." Raziel pointed out while pointing his index finger towards the device. "Is Mya Stone my bloody sister?!" He asked angrily as his patience about the subject was very thin at that moment.
Jon sighed and rubbed his eyes before answering. "Yes, Mya Stone is your sister." Not that Raziel had any doubt. "Your half-sister to be more precise , same father, different mothers."
Raziel sighed in response. It doesn't change anything, although that explains why I always felt like I already knew her. It really didn't matter to him, though, he was a little worried that it would matter to Mya. "Why didn't you tell me?!" He angrily asked Jon as he doesn't understand why that secret was kept from him.
"I'm sorry for not telling you sooner, but this is a bit of a sensible subject since she herself doesn't know about it." Jon explained to him. Then he moved his head around where everyone was practically staring at the two. "Raziel, could you please follow me, this is not the kind of conversation to be having in public."
Moving his head to look at the large crowd that was staring at him in deep confusion over what he just did. Raziel had to agree with Jon that it was better to have this conversation somewhere else. So he nodded at him before saying. "I need to wrap it up first." He was referring to the device.
Jon Arryn:
"Thank you very much." Raziel Baratheon told a servant that served him a cup of Mint tea.
After leaving the center of Gulltown, Jon took Raziel back to his cousin's home in order to get more details about how Raziel got to Gulltown so quickly.
The Crown Prince bluntly told the Hand of the King everything, and all of the details sounded completely unbelievable to Jon.
According to Raziel, he found the remains of the Winged Knight inside of the cave and that thing that he used to fly all the way to Gulltown was actually the fabled giant falcon from the legends. But in reality, it was simply just a strange looking device made of an unknown cloth that allowed the user to slow down his descent from the sky.
Jon has to admit, the whole thing sounded like madness to him, but he did see that strange looking device descending from the sky, so he had no reason to not believe Raziel's claims.
Until the next part came along. "Ummm, I am not sure I heard you correctly." Jon really didn't.
"I jumped out of the Moon Door, that's how I was able to descend all the way until Gulltown." Raziel claimed as he drank his tea.
"Raziel, I don't know why you are jesting right now but-" Jon didn't believe what he just said, because the idea that he actually jumped out of the Moon Door and survived was completely unbelievable.
"Robyn, Coleman, Vardis Egen and four guards saw me jump out of the Moon Door." He was quick to add that detail. "You can confirm it with them once we head back."
Jon still didn't actually believe what Raziel just claimed. That's impossible, no one ever survived going through the Moon Door! Though, if Coleman and Vardis Egen actually confirmed, Jon might lose his mind with the shock.
"Also, I forgot to mention." Raziel spoke up again after taking a sip of his tea. "I sent the supposed remains of the Winged Knight to the Citadel for studying and... I had his armor melted so I could make a shield out of it." He confessed to Jon with a slight bit of embarrassment in his voice.
Jon made a confused expression in response. "I agree with the idea of sending the remains to the Citadel for studying but..." Despite the possibility of it actually being the Winged Knight being quite thin, letting the Maesters study the supposed ancient remains was the most logical solution. "Why did you turn his armor into a shield?" That was the confusing part to Jon.
"The armor has a strange ability to repeal metal." Raziel explained to him. "Several archers and I tried to shoot arrows at it, with all the arrows being pushed away by a strange force that surrounded the armor." Jon heard Raziel loud and clear, despite the fact that he would only believe such a thing if he actually saw it. "But the armor itself was terrible, so I think a shield with that kind of ability would be much more useful." If that was true, Jon actually agreed with him. "But, I'm actually keeping the shield for myself." He added that part right after to make abundantly clear that the shield was his.
Jon sighed in response, he actually had come to forget that Raziel was particularly greedy. Certainly he wasn't greedy when it came to coin since he wasn't closefisted when it came to spending, though he doesn't believe that will actually translate to reckless spending later in life like Robert. Raziel's greed was more directed into the desire of possessing unique things that no one else has. Which unfortunately reminded him of how Yohn Royce's son ended up in their current situation.
Which reminded him of something. "I almost forgot to ask," Something that he was actually waiting for an answer for. "What happened at the Shepherd's home?"
The moment he heard that, Raziel's blue eyes immediately moved to look at the table in front of him before moving back up to look at Jon. "I am sorry to tell you this but..." He spoke in a somewhat sad tone of voice. "Waymar Royce is dead." He revealed.
Jon sighed in response. In truth, he was already expecting that.
"According to the Shepherd, he tried to escape and fought against the Hedge Knights but they had the better of him." Raziel explained to Jon. "The other one was taken to Wickenden and Bronze Yohn went there to see if he could find him before it's too late."
That was good news, but Jon wasn't exactly hopeful that Robar Royce was still alive. The Hedge Knights already signed a death sentence when they killed the son of the Lord of Runestone. I am half expecting them to kill him and then taking a ship to Essos to evade capture. That was Jon's unfortunate prediction, however, a part of him was hopeful that at least this repulsive tragedy would have a more pleasant ending. "How did Robyn react?" Since Waymar was his uncle.
"He was very upset, and was on his way to leave for Runestone in order to be there when they told his grandmother of Waymar's death." Raziel told him before taking another sip of his tea.
Jon could only sigh in response, pitying the poor woman as hearing that kind of news is not something anyone was prepared to hear.
"Ahhh..." Raziel then seemed to be embarrassed with something and was clearly trying to find the right words to express it.
"What is it?" Jon asked him in curiosity.
"I..." He didn't seem to know the right way to say it. "Think we should send a letter to the Eyrie soon or something like that." Raziel pointed out to Jon.
Jon simply made a confused face in response before asking. "Send a letter about what exactly?" He asked.
"Well..." Raziel took a sip of his hot tea before speaking. "I... Didn't exactly explain to anyone about the device so..." He scratched his messy black hair before continuing. "Basically it might look like Robyn, Coleman, Ser Vardis Egen and the four guards probably think I am dead right now." That "probably" didn't sound convincing at all.
After hearing that, Jon touched his face in deep frustration, wondering if he will ever stop doing that as he has lost count already. This whole story of him jumping out of the Moon Door still sounds absurd, but if they are confirmed to be true. Jon took a good look at Raziel, who just stared at him with the eyes that were identical to his father's. He might just have made himself a legend in the Vale.
Cersei Lannister:
[A week later.]
"What!?" The Queen yelled loudly after hearing what was just said to her.
Cersei Lannister was standing on her feet inside of the small council chamber, right beside the table where the Small council seat was. Hearing the contents of a letter that was sent by Jon Arryn regarding her beloved son.
"Are you fucking joking right now?!" The King, who was surprisingly sitting on the table with a cup of wine in his hands, asked.
"I... I am afraid not, your grace." The Grand Maester of the Citadel replied to both of them in response. The old man was holding a letter and he just read out loud for all of them to hear.
The contents of the letter were baffling for lack of better words. According to the long letter, her son put himself in grave danger by practically marching towards a cave that was actually filled with one of the Vale mountain clans. Where he slaughtered nearly all of the savages, including their leader, alongside Sandor Clegane and rescued the Lord of Runestone, who was captured by the savages.
The King sounded dumbfounded by what he just heard. Just staring at the Maester with a shocked expression on his face. "Hahahahahaha!" Before he bursted into a laughter of pure joy. "My boy, who doesn't even have hair in his balls yet, slaughtered a bunch of savages in the Vale?"
"I'm... Afraid so... My King." The Maester showed him the contents of the letter written by Jon Arryn.
"Hahahahaha!" The man continued with his idiotic laughter, shining with pure joy in response to her son's antics. "I didn"t had my fucking first kill until I was at least five-and-ten!" The King remembered that. "Hell, if he keeps up like that, he might even fuck his first girl before he's even ten.".
You can say that again, you drunken buffoon. Cersei thought in spite as he watched her buffoon of a husband gushing like a pathetic child over the fact that her son killed a bunch of filthy savages. Why did my son have to waste his time with such trivial matters in the first place? The Queen was not happy with that at all, Raziel was worth a thousand times more than the Lord of Runestone.
"There is more, your grace." Pycelle continued. "Apparently, the reason behind Raziel going to the cave had nothing to do with Yohn Royce."
"Then why exactly did he go to that cave?" The Queen asked the old man as she demanded to know the reasoning behind her son putting himself in that kind of danger.
"According to Lord Arryn, the reason behind it was to rescue his..." The old man seemed to have been trying to read it again as if he wasn't sure if he read correctly.
"His fucking what?" Robert rushed the man to speak up as he gulped down a cup of wine.
"His sister," Those words cause Robert to nearly choke on his wine. "Mya Stone."
"Your bastard from the Vale?" Cersei was more than aware of who Mya Stone was. The first of many bastard children that were sired by Robert. Great, just what I needed. She could already tell that her son was going to get quite attached to the girl and that was something that annoyed the Queen greatly. I should have had the damn girl killed before Raziel left for the Vale. She deeply regrets not getting rid of the bastard now.
Losing her patience, the Queen snatched the letter from the Maester's hands and read it herself.
Dear King Robert and Queen Cersei.
I can only begin this letter by offering my sincerest apologies. Hardly anything about the Prince's stay in the Vale went accordingly.
First, upon my arrival I was informed that the Mountain Clan known as the Moon Brothers had discovered a second entrance to the Vale. Located inside of a cave near the Redfort.
I was going to solve this matter myself, there was another thing that required my attention at Gulltown. Which Stannis Baratheon can explain if , if you wish to know more about it.
So I entrusted Yohn Royce to handle this matter for me. However, things didn't go according to plan and he requested the aid of his son, who brought more men to help him in the task of detaining the Moon Brothers.
However, Raziel ended up accompanying him. Because Mya Stone was going with them as she was responsible for tending the Mules that were carrying the supplies and he wanted to be near her. Which proved to be a problem as she was actually present when an ambush occured and several men were either killed or gravely wounded.
Raziel actually heard that she was inside of the cave, so he, alongside Sandor Clegane, made their way to the cave in order to rescue his half-sister.
You will both have to ask Sandor Clegane for details on the matter as I am particularly clueless since Raziel doesn't really want to talk about it. All I know is that he actually killed most of the Moon Brothers and personally executed their leader himself.
I can only offer my sincerest apologies since he shouldn't have been in those kinds of situations in the first place.
All I can do is guarantee that I will personally keep an eye on him for the remainder of his stay in the Vale.
Yours faithfully,
Jon Arryn.
That is not good enough, old man. Cersei thought spitefully as the thought of her most precious thingbeing in the hands of such a useless old man, makes her skin crawl. So she burned the letter on the candle that was on top of the table and quickly made her way to the exit.
Robert let out a loud sigh, and gulped down his wine. "Do you know how many there were?" He asked Pycelle as he wanted to know how many men her son had killed.
Raziel Baratheon:
"Sounds incredibly ineffective." Raziel spoke.
"It is, at least for what I saw of them." Bau replied.
Raziel Baratheon was having a fun time during his stay at Gulltown. The Prince decided to stay there until Jon finished the matters that he had to solve. Though, his stay wasn't without annoyances as he was constantly getting asked by the people there about the subject of the device that he used to fly there. With the Prince either ignoring or giving vague answers.
"Personally, I don't really like crossbows." Raziel told the beautiful Myrish Lady. "Bows are much more effective, but they require lots of training to be used properly which is why many people prefer crossbows." Since crossbows require less training than bows, some consider it to be a coward's weapon. But Raziel's actual problem with crossbows is that they took too long to load, if that wasn't a problem, he would definitely use them over bows since the crossbow had extreme projectile velocity and high damage.
During his stay, Raziel spent a considerable amount of time asking Bau Arryn about Myr. As the different cultures greatly interested the Prince. Currently, they were both sitting down in the middle of the main area of her home. Sitting on nice chairs enjoying a nice cup of Myrish Wine. However, Raziel's wine was watered down for obvious reasons.
"You two seem to be enjoying yourselves." Suddenly, Lyro Arryn entered the room and greeted the two of them.
"I am trying to satisfy our Prince's curiosity regarding Myr." The Myrish woman told her husband with a smile as she ran her fingers through Raziel's black hair.
Raziel smiled at the gesture before speaking. "Thank you once again for allowing me to stay in your home, Lord Arryn." It should be strange to call him Lord Arryn, but in reality he never actually called Jon that, which made it easier.
"It was my pleasure, your presence here has been lovely, Prince Raziel." Lyro spoke with a small bow.
"It sure is." Bau added with a smile.
"Do you know where Jon went?" Raziel asked in curiosity since he hasn't seen him all day.
"Lord Arryn apparently went to visit Lord Grafton, who is suffering from some kind of illness." Bau informed Raziel.
"I heard that his skin is falling off." Raziel pointed out with a somewhat interesting expression.
"It's a rare illness from Essos or something like that." Lyro pointed out as he approached the two.
Raziel was looking at Lyro, and noticed something on his hand. "What is that?" He asked.
"Oh, a letter addressed to Jon." Lyro showed him the letter.
However, Raziel actually snatched the letter from his hands and opened it. With Bau and Lyro looking at each other in surprise as it was actually quite rude to read a letter addressed to someone else. However, Raziel didn't really care because he was wondering if the letter was from who he thought it was.
"Oh no..." It was.
Jon Arryn:
"By the Seven..." It was all that Jon could say.
Lady Grafton was crying right outside of the room that he was in. Which happened to be Lord Grafton's chambers. It has been a week since their last encounter, so Jon decided to pay him a visit in order to know his condition.
Unfortunately, it was much worse than he expected.
The thing laying on top of the bed inside that room didn't even look like the same man anymore. Most of skin had fallen off, giving him the appearance of a man that was under the process of being flayed but whoever was doing it, stopped half-way. His left arm had no skin covering it, his torso had large patches that exposed his insides, his leg seemed to be completely rotten and his face was a bloody mess.
But the most disturbing thing of all. Was the fact that Gerold Grafton was still alive.
You commited a crime, but not even the worst of criminals deserve this kind of faith. It was Jon's opinion as he could only watch the poor man agonizing on top of that bed with the Maester trying his best to keep him alive. Though, Jon genuinely thinks that they should just let the poor man die.
"My Lord, forgive my bluntness, but if you came here to ask him anything, you will be wasting your time." The Maester informed Jon as he wrapped bandages that were covered in some kind of herbal mixture into his skinless arm.
Jon didn't really have any questions and even if he did, even a blind man could tell that Gerold Grafton has lost his lucidness already. "No, I..." He really had nothing to say. "Apologies for the intrusion." The Lord of the Vale decided to simply take his leave, since both the sight and the unbearable smell were too much.
Closing the door behind him. All he could do was silently bow before Lady Grafton, offering his sincerest sympathies for the awful situation that she was in. The grieving woman barely paid any attention to him, and immediately re-entered the room.
With a heavy sigh, Jon turned around and took his leave.
I have an awful feeling that this is just the beginning of something awful. That was the terrifying thought that came into Jon's mind as he made his way out of the Grafton's home.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
I cannot thank everyone enough for the support that you all have been giving me these last few years. Despite the slow updates due to my work and personal life getting in the way of writing, I can only express my gratitude for everyone that has been accompanying me in this series.
I hope you all have a great year, and I'm very, very glad to finish this year with an update.
As always.
Q AND A:
So I had a random thought the other day and wanted to propose this while Raziel will interact with two of his half brothers Edric Storm and Gendry it occurred to me that Raziel will be much closer with Jon Snow than either of his actual half brothers like how Robert is closer to Nes than he is either Stannis or Renly
Now while Raziel could still get on with his two half brothers I figured alongside Jon why not have Raziel find another friend he considers more of a brother than his half brothers in truth and I thought for a younger brother like figure why not have it be Edric Dayne
I'm still a massive supporter of the idea of Raziel's squire being Arya but we've seen knights in the series take on more than one Squire, Robert has two, Stannis has two heck even canon Robin Aryn has two "squires" so while Arya is his non traditional squire due to her being well a her… and the fact Raziel is going to be fucking her while she's his squire haha for his more traditional squire went through who'd make a fitting squire taking into accounts ages of the character and what family they hailed from after all not just anyone could become the squire to the crown Prince
Therefore I came to Edric "Ned" Dayne after all he strikes me as a good kid and since the Daynes are probably the third most powerful family in Dorne I'd say he fits the criteria for a crown princes squire plus I could see Raziel training Edric to a level where the Dayne family name him the new sword of the morning
Of course saying that Arya would remain the greatest and deadliest fighter Raziel trains haha
But yeah figured Raziel could arrange for Beric in this to take on Edric Storm as his squire while with Gendry eh still think it be best if Raziel just left him in the smithy but with him he could send him to Davos mostly so he's in Davos care
Figured with Edric Dayne as well as one of Raziel's squires he could be the "unfortunate" one that sometimes gets stuck with seeing if Raziel is up and about some mornings meaning we could get a scene where one of Raziel's bolder lovers tease Edric a bit like Arianne, Edric could walk into her and Raziel having their usual naked fun leading Arianne to tease him over what a sweet young man he is and she's grateful for Raziel ensuring she will have a loyal steadfast and strong bannerman in the future when she's Princess of Dorne meanwhile Edric Dayne gets a nice close view of Arianne when she walks up to him and maybe even hugs him haha while Raziel just light heartedly tells Edric in future best to just poke your head in and call out but yeah when it comes to Daynes Arianne is close with this Arianne has much better sense to pick Edric as a friend over Gerold the edge lord
Ie from Raziel and Ariannes perspective if Quentyn or anyone else tries to replace Arianne as heir Edric as Lord Dayne already will definitely support them but yeah Edric Dayne as Raziel's squire let's Raziel ensure more support for Arianne, ensure the personal loyalty of a possible future sword of the morning and could be a way for Raziel to show his appreciation for Dorne by taking a Dornish Squire and heck last thing with Edric in this we could see him get with Teora Toland
If you do go with Raziel getting himself a Direwolf might I suggest Raziel names it Neferion after one of the names for Azor Ahai also while on the topic of the Beastguard with Raziel set to have a not so friendly relationship with Robb Stark will we get a moment where Symeon or even Neferion pin and subdue Grey Wind while their masters argue while the other wolves all differ to Raziel's beast
Oh yeah since I know your love of gun powder will lead to Raziel getting a weapon that uses it one I hope we don't get the full introduction of muskets and standard muskets in fact when it comes to gun powder weapons hope Raziel is the only man in the world to have such and it takes the form of the firearm Cesare Borgia used to kill Mario ie a fancy boom stick Raziel can fire once before drawing his sword
Meaning to say to while the free folk as a hole aside from Val and Tormund are frenemies at best when north of the wall despite killing one hope Raziel actually gets on well with the giants and while at the free folk camp if someone wants to find Raziel they will find him talking to the giants in the old tongue or with the mammoths petting the grown up ones and playing with the babies
Just like the idea of Raziel being friendly with the older races ie the Giants and the children being particularly friendly with Leaf haha
After all while in canon Leaf had that whole speech about most of her kin going deeper into the ground and the giants and mammoths are almost gone and the lions of the west are slain and their sun is setting in this I hope Leaf gives a much more optimistic speech along the lines of Raziel ensuring the sun won't set for them that he's giving new life to the giants and mammoths, seen to the return of the Lions in the west and safeguarded the direwolves for the future and ensured a place in the world for her own kind
Honestly it fun to see the sparrows trying to make a big deal out of Raziel openly consorting with a child of the forest in Leaf trying to call her a tree demon or some such but the majority of the people are just amazed that their are still children of the forest so with them while they don't frequently talk to humans sightings of them become fairly common under Raziel's rule
Just love the idea of the sparrows being the minor annoyance that they are trying to make a big deal out of the fact Raziel keeps a child of the forest close to him, how he has Melisandre as his spiritual advisor and letting her spread the Red Faith and is building temples and brought the Dragons back so on and no one really listening to them to the Sparrows it's like Raziel has ensnared the hearts of all the people with some black magic
While in reality people just love and admire him to much and he's to good a King for the sparrows to become a major problem haha
Pretty much, Raziel will treat his brothers much better than Robert does, but his closest brotherly bond will be with Jon.
He was actually my original idea for the Dornish Companion and he will play a very significant role during the Dorne Arc.
Raziel will take a few squires.
Him and Edric are going to be very close as he will be his primary helper during the major conflict of the Dorne arc.
Well...
Sadly, Raziel will be the one to suffer that kind of scene. Because of his misfortune Arianne will be having her fling with Gerold when Raziel gets there.
Kind of...
He will not get a Direwolf, sorry... Ghost and Nymeria will have to do it for him. With Nymeria obeying him more than Arya.
No! No! and NO! Those kinds of weapons will not be introduced. He will get his hands on things like fire arrows and bombs (It already existed in China during the Middle-ages, so I kind of took that and made it so that it also exists in Yi Ti.) But yeah... I am kind of planning for Raziel to actually get his hands on something very similar to Cesare's weapon. (As Jon himself claimed, Raziel is quite greedy when it comes to possessing unique things that no one else has.)
Had! You literally predicted what's going to happen.
Raziel is actually very fascinated by her and quickly becomes friendly towards her.
Not exactly.
Basically.
Obrigado pelo capítulo incrível, Autor-San!
De nada, e feliz ano novo.
Nice to see things with Lord Grafton are wrapped up and yeah I do get his reasoning if he's going to die might as well live it up as much as he can I suppose and I do get his view on Robert especially since I'm sure Robert wouldn't have taken the time win over a young lord Grafton like how Robert won over other former foes
With the smuggling ring that apparently extends to the other cities of Westros that I'm 99% sure Littlefinger set up here's what I hope and think the case with that should be obviously a good size net work out of Gulltown because it's the city Petyr has the most access to on account of it being in the Vale and the network of smugglers has a decent reach into Kingslanding because it's Kingslanding and Raziel hasn't gotten around to cleaning it up yet
But for the other three cities in Westros, White Harbour, Old Town and Lannisport oh they can have people there but really it should be like one or two guys in those cities for one reason being again this Littlefingers influence shouldn't be that far reaching heck doubt even canon Petyrs influence stretches that far and two doubt the families that rule those three cities would let a major smuggling ring form in their cities obviously there are smugglers there every city has its criminal element after all
So yeah while this particular smugglers ring might have a good position in Gulltown and Kingslanding in the other three cities it should really have that
Okay I'm laughing at Raziel's thought process of I want to go speak to old Jon about Mya so I'll just fucking fly there myself haha
Love the idea of next chapter old jon and everyone being at the docks clearing up the smugglers and then they all look up and see Raziel casually gliding over the city down to their location and when he lands he's just like hello I'm here to talk about Mya haha like he didn't literally just fly across half the vale
Just thinking of all the stories that will spread from the people in the Eyrie who saw Raziel take off to all the people Raziel would have flown over on his way to the city and pretty much all the people in Gulltown who would have looked up and saw Raziel fly over head that kinda news will spread all over Westros and heck Essos to
Will say it's odd he's going to Jon to confirm Mya is his sister when Jon has literally already told him exactly that thanks to the letter to me it would make a bit more sense if Raziel was going to him to tell him in person right Mya is joining my retinue
Okay making a shield out of the metal from the winged knights armour is good
Still got my fingers crossed then that when it comes to Raziel's coronation you go with it being a grand fun affair that it rightly deserves to be
Oh Jon Snow not being Raziel's Lord Commander of the Kingsguard is a surprise to me figured he was a shoe in for that role still Brienne would make a good Lord Commander to and why can I picture her just having a adorable reaction when Raziel tells her not only is he naming her to his Kingsguard but he's also making her the Lord Commander
By the way if your still set on the idea of Cersei slapping Raziel when he gets back to Kingslanding before promptly going right back to spoiling him and showering him in affection since she'd have gone a year without any Raziel loving instead of the slap coming from Raziel bringing Mya with him it's from Raziel's flight this chapter
Like when Cersei heard the news she froze and felt immense worry because you know Raziel jumped out the god dam moon door and flew across the Vale but also pride for doing frankly the unimaginable but you know she feels the need to slap him for making her worry like that before the loving resumes
Because with bringing Mya to court I think it's fair to consider the idea that Cersei would look at that and see it from her view as Raziel taking Mya as something of a pet and servant that Raziel is graciously giving a much better life to and Cersei could see it as her blood showing dominance over Roberts since her child is in control of Roberts
As for Raziel showing romantic affection to Mya well think Cersei would be all for Raziel not minding being related to the women he fucks and again it's similar to why Cersei likes the idea of Raziel fucking Dany while with her in Cersei eye it's a way to get back at Aerys, Rhaegar and Robert with Raziel in her eyes likely getting with Mya to in the future in Cersei mind it's another way to get back at Robert due to it being her son fucking his first daughter
Most of his "Former foes" were either High Lords or famous people like Ser Barristan. I highly doubt that he bothered to try to win over a relatively Minor lord for Gulltown.
Not exactly set up, but he did have a hand in it.
Like I said, not quite Littlefinger's doing but..
Pretty much.
That's Raziel for you.
That's literally what happened.
Pretty much, he's going to get the nickname Moonlander of the Vale because of it.
He wanted an explanation as to why he didn't tell him right away.
Yup...
Not exactly.
Count on it.
The thing is... Cersei is actually going to manipulate Raziel and force him to... Do something to compensate for the year she spent in deep frustration.
Not exactly but almost...
Awesome!
Awesome!
First off I want to say this was really great chapter we dive deeper on what is not only happening in the Vale but also all the ports in Westeros
The Lord Jon and Lord Gerold scene was really well done, Gerold confessing and turning himself in because of a disease he got was a shock I thought that Gerold would attack but instead he did the right thing to tell Jon what he did and what happen.
So Lord Gerold became like this because of the war, his father being on the King side and seeing his father being killed by Robert the same man that became his king, the war affect him that much. But I did not think he would do slavery by selling off people.
But that most shocking part is there is a big organization that are working and hidden in Westeros, this information can cause a huge uproar because there could be small or big houses that may be part of this organization.
Little finger has his own motive but even he was shock about the slavery smuggling organization.
Raziel what the hell is wrong with you, I know that he is impatient, he just found out that Mya is his sister but damn you giving all those in the moondoor area a huge heart attack.
Btw I ben meaning to ask since Raziel would go to each house to be foster can you right down the age he would be when he is foster at those house for example
Raziel Age when he was at Kings Landing:
Raziel Age when he was at House Lannister:
Raziel Age when he is currently in House Arryn:
and so own
Yup... That will actually play a role in the next Fosterage though.
The man knew that his days were numbered, so he decided to at least try to fix his error.
His greed and gluttony got the better of him and got worse with the passing years. Kind of like Jorah, but in a less pathetic and more selfish way.
Pretty much.
He didn't think it went that far.
That's basically Raziel in a nutshell.
His fosterage started when he was 7 and will end when he's 16. He's currently 8 and will be 9 when his next fosterage starts. (Just add a year at the beginning of each fosterage since his name day always takes place right before his next fosterage begins.)
That was some high score level of trolling XD Thanks for the new chapter!
That's Raziel for you.
