10. Making Sure (Making Sure Time)

Hey everyone, Megumiai30 here with another fanfic. This one is kind of a prelude to "Endurance" and if you're interested, go check it out XD. This talks about the marriage night of Sugino and...(Drum roll), Kanzaki before their first night together. As implied, the main pairing is Sugikan, with implications of other couples. The gang are 22 years old, in November! I hope you love reading this as I loved to write it :D.

Making Sure

Today was the day of Sugino Tomohito and Kanzaki now Sugino Yukiko's wedding day. After a hectic and chaotic wedding, the members of 3-E moved the party to the custom after-party, and they were having a good time together as they did during Chiba and Hayami's wedding the last month. The hotel was located somewhere in Minato-ku in Tokyo where the ever-rising baseball star, Sugino Tomohito afforded it with his paycheck.

Wine and tea were being served. The women and men were lingering together, enjoying the sights and enjoying each other's company.

On one side, Chiba and Maehara, men who had gotten married already were giving Sugino advice... About Sugino and Kanzaki's first night together that was coming soon.

"So Sugino, it's all about who brings up the subject first..."

"Will you stop? Rinka and I discussed it before diving into that." Chiba retorted, his lips curving into a fond smile while patting Sugino on the back saying, "Don't worry. It just comes naturally."

Sugino laughed it off, "Thanks you two."

Nagisa, Kayano, Karma, and Okuda were listening from a distance, talking to one another, the former two were now a two-month couple. Kayano leaned on her boyfriend's shoulder, as she was now able to do so with his newly acquired height and Karma smirked at the both of them.

"Kayano-chan, it looks like you can't keep your hands off of Nagisa. What, is he your pet or something?"

Kayano blushed and puffed her cheeks, something that Nagisa found cute, and retorted, "No! He's my boyfriend, and I plan to enjoy every second of it for your information."

Okuda and Nagisa chuckled at the two's interaction. It was really rare that they had time to do this because of their busy schedules. Sure, they meet once in a while, but the entire class meeting like this? It was a sight to behold.

"It looks like everyone's present tonight," Okuda remarked and the other three nodded.

"Yeah, and it seems that Sugino and Kanz- excuse me, Yukiko-san is surrounded by the married couples." Nagisa pointed out, and he wasn't lying: Sugino was being hounded by Maehara and Chiba, Kanzaki was listening inventively to Okano and Hayami. They noticed the big blushes on their faces and deduced that...

"It looks like they're talking about various things that happen tonight," Kayano mentioned in passing.

"Eh~? Care to explain, Kayano-chan?" Karma smirked cheekily to Kayano, who looked down with a blush of her own: She was certainly guilty of thinking of that with Nagisa after they got married.

"W-well..."

"Certain things, Karma, now behave yourself, please," Okuda concluded and asked Karma, and he nodded.

Nagisa chuckled, he never thought that Okuda would be the one to control Karma as she did right now, and he was glad. He knew that his friend needed a brake and Okuda could provide that for him as lifelong partners. Of course, he was his best friend but friends and husband and wife-to-be were different.

Kayano giggled at the sight and mentioned, "Manami-chan, it looks like you and Karma are friendly as ever."

Okuda blushed and laughed herself, "Of course." She grabbed her boyfriend/fiance's arm and leaned against it.

"We're two lucky men, eh, Nagisa?" Karma winked and Nagisa nodded with a big smile. Yes, they were two lucky men to have met their girlfriends under a big plan from the very beginning. The four were joined by their friends such as Nakamura and Terasaka, etc.

Finally, the blushing groom and bride joined their dear friends. The men gave Sugino a high five and the two women hugged their dear friend Kanzaki.

"So~ The main characters of this night have come, haven't they?" Karma said.

"Hiya. Well, we've been cooped up with the other two married couples." Sugino replied.

"How are you guys feeling?" Nagisa asked curiously.

"Surreal. I can't believe I'm married to Tomohito." Kanzaki spoke out first and smiled in that air of grace that she always puts around her.

The other four laughed when they saw Sugino's face turn ruby red. Sugino's feelings when they were in 3-E and during the three years that came after and before the two dated were no secret. But it was a shock to Sugino and the rest of the class when Kanzaki came out that she had liked Sugino without her knowing from the same point.

The two had dated for three years, and at the age of twenty-two, today, they were married, however chaotic the marriage was.

Kayano giggled, "You two had an... interesting marriage ceremony." She picked her words carefully, but Sugino and Kanzaki understood the words completely and laughed.

"Yeah, my fault entirely," Sugino said sheepishly.

Kanzaki giggled and hooked her arm to her husband's and reassured him, "Don't worry, Tomo- kun, I'm just thankful that you're here as my husband. Nothing less." She winked and he nodded with a smile.

"Well then, I think it's time for us to wrap things up, eh?" Sugino commented, and Kanzaki looked puzzled. Wasn't tonight... She blushed at that, and Karma brought it up,

"Never mind that. Don't you guys have something 'else' to do tonight?" He wagged his eyebrows, hoping that Sugino would catch his drift.

Sugino blushed, catching what Karma was trying to imply and suddenly without warning reached for his new wife and lifted her bridal style.

"Kya!" Kanzaki screamed and squealed in delight and shock. When Sugino looked down on her, she was adorned with a healthy blush of red also. She nodded in understanding and trust as if she was saying, "I trust you."

The other members of 3-E smiled and smirked at the sight, some girls sighed. Sugino bowed, "Well then everyone, thank you for coming to our wedding and the after-party: Hope you enjoyed it, but bye-bye for now."

The members of 3-E waved their hands as they saw Sugino and Kanzaki retreating to their suite for the night, in what's supposed to be their first night together, ever. They saw Kanzaki looking at her husband with fond eyes and Sugino laughing in response.

"Well then, let's get cleaning this place!" Isogai encouraged the class who answered with a "Yup!"

Nagisa, Karma, and Chiba all shared a look, realizing that someone from their class was gone.

"Nagisa, what's wrong?" Kayano asked, curious why her boyfriend had such a look on his face.

Nagisa laughed, "Nothing, Akari, just have something to talk about in private with Karma and Chiba."

The two men got the signal and headed outside, nodding at each other. That was when Kataoka brought up a fact that seemed to shock many, "Has anyone seen Okajima?"

The whole class looked far and wide for the said person until they realized something: Okajima was nowhere to be seen.

"When I get my hands on that little..." Kataoka started but Isogai, her boyfriend stopped her, "Don't worry. I feel that Nagisa, Karma, and Chiba got this one covered."

The wife, fiance, and girlfriend of the three men chuckled, and Hayami brought up, "So that was why Ryunosuke was jittery and suspicious."

Okuda giggled, "Karma looked very suspicious too..."

"We're dating, married, and are going to marry three great men, aren't we girls?" The two girls nodded and Kayano slung her arms around the two girls' shoulders and headed to clean up the ball banquet, leaving their boys to clean up the mess that was ensuing with whatever the heck was going on with Okajima.

Okajima with a smirk followed the Sugino couple up to the floor of their suite to take a peek at their... first night together. He was hiding behind a corner when he saw them go in the direction of their suite, Kanzaki giggling and snuggling in her husband's chest and Sugino chuckling.

He was lucky it seemed. He had snuck out without anyone knowing to get a peek at the newlyweds. Kataoka unfortunately wasn't there to block him, or it seemed. He had taken the back door out so he would leave unnoticed.

As he saw the Sugino couple making a turn, he tried to engage in action until he felt a presence behind him, a presence that could kill. He felt shivers come down his spine and felt a finger, or rather two fingers on his head, and a person who was aiming at him directly. That presence was could only be one thing and one thing only: The presence of an assassin, and he knew which assassin it was: Shiota Nagisa. And he wasn't alone: Chiba and Karma had come for the ride, and the two grabbed Okajima by the arms and muffled his mouth.

Karma smirked, "Chiba, what do you think about this guy?"

"Well, we'll have to take him back to the ballroom, don't you think?" Chiba answered plainly.

As the two started to drag Okajima away back to the ballroom, they were seen by Sugino and Kanzaki and so Nagisa looked in their direction, "Just making sure that your night goes well as you thought, good luck you two!" He waved as he escorted Karma and Chiba who were dragging Okajima away from the Sugino couple to the elevator.

Sugino shouted back, "Thanks, Nagisa!"

"Karma-kun and Chiba-kun, thank you also!" Kanzaki shouted as the two unlocked the door to their suite and went in.

It was a night that was to be remembered by Sugino Tomohito and Kanzaki now Sugino Yukiko, as they embarked on their first journey becoming one.

All the while, after the guys had dragged Okajima back to the ballroom, he was reprimanded by Kataoka.
