Far away on the other side

Two days later Sesshomaru was still sitting In the same place. Was that it? Why that girl? Was her life worth more than all of theirs? He didnt even know half the people she died for. It was bullshit.

There was nothing to burn, she and the jewel, were just gone.

Sesshomaru turned his head slightly as he heard footsteps.

Inuyasha stood there rubbing the back of his head "So um, Kikyo told me what was going on,"

Sesshomaru did not grace him with a reply, besides what was there to say?

"Im hella confused,"

Sesshomaru looked away. Why the halfbreed here anyway?

"I dont know how to feel,"

Sesshomaru didn't care.

"Do you know the other two people?"

"A monk named Miroku and a slayer named Sango," Sesshomaru replied.

Inuyasha was going to try and find them.

"What are you going to do?" Inuyasha asked,

Sesshomaru stood and began to walk away. He was growing tired of his brother speaking.

"Hey man, she died for us, dont you feel anything!"

Sesshomaru paused. Did he feel anything? It wasn't one thing. He felt pissed, annoyed, and slightly confused not that he would admit any of them out loud, least of all to his brother.

"It's bullshit you know," Inuyasha sighed "I, I didn't even know her, and yet, I feel sad,"

"Go Inuyasha, live your life, least her death be in vain,"

"But I dont get it, why did she have to die,"

Sesshomaru walked away. He didn't get it either and he didn't know why he was still thinking about it, about her.

He made his way to his father's home and looked at the massive walls. When his father was alive this place was alive, even when he wasn't around. Now it was a dark waste. He traveled inside and found the room that he inherited. He took the sword she had so easily given to him and looked at it and then tossed the useless thing in the bed. He had respect for it but to him, at least now, it was useless.

He was supposed to save a child but before he saved a child, he wanted to save a woman.

But this piece of fan would be useless for his wants and her needs.

"Jaken,"

The imp showed himself. He mostly kept away from his master and in the shadows.

"Yes mi Lord?"

"Go to my mother,"

"Your mother!"

Sesshomaru turned his sharp narrowed eyes to the imp,

He only has to give the look. Jaken scrambled to a bow "Yes mi Lord, right away!"

The imp did as he was told and went to the could and with a great bow, announced to the queen dog demon that her son would soon arrive.

"For what reason," She asked coldly,

Jaken looked worried and she, like her son narrowed her golden eyes.

"It would seem, my Lord is a bit, displaced,"

A rock flew and smacked the imp hard and he fell to his face.

Sesshomaru's mother looked up to see her son walking up. She wondered for a moment if he just carried rocks in his pocket.

"Are you sad?" She asked,

He spared her no response to her silly comment. Sad, no.

"What do you want,"

"I have a mere question,"

"Then ask it,"

"A woman has died,"

She scoffed, "That is not a question, and what woman, and more importantly why do you care?"

Jaken, without thinking spoke "A human girl, a Miko, her name is Kagome and she was the holder of the jewel and has come back to the past and-" Another rock knocked him back and once again his mother missed where her son had pulled it from.

"A human girl, tell me why my son would care about such a thing?"

Jaken peeled himself off the floor but didnt dare say another word.

"There is but one way to reach the dead," She said with a slight smirk on her face.

He knew this would be useless to him. Even if she did have away she would not oblige him. She did her part as a mother.

Sesshomaru turned, set to return.

"Wait," She said,

She pulled out a necklace, "She is far away, on the other side in a place no demon should go,"

He looked back at her,

"So tell me, my son, are you willing to die for her,"

How could he so no, when she had died for him?
