Chapter 35
The Battle Beast part 2
Jaden and his friends had been running running through the forest, but they couldn't find the Werewolf anywhere.
"Where is she?" Asked Octo.
"We lost her" said ShiiShii.
"She couldn't have gone too far" said Damon. A loud howl echoed through out the forest.
"Great, we're in a forest at night and there's a Werewolf out there", said Alexis, kinda scared. "As Zombina would say, 'this is a horror movie waiting to happen'". They then saw something dash past them.
"Over there" said Moskii. They then ran after it. They eventually lost it, but they were now in a clearing.
"She's gone again" said Cherri. They then heard the sound of leaves rustling.
"Oh shit" said Chumley. Growling was soon heard.
"You think she's gonna eat us?" Asked Ms. Dorothy. Jaden then walked forward.
"Jaden, what are you doing?" Asked Syrus.
"Come out", said Jaden. "I just want to talk". There was the sound of a tree snapping and a branch was thrown towards them. Jaden dodged it, but barely.
"Whoa!" Shouted Jaden. The Werewolf then jumped out.
"*growl* Liar!" Growled the Werewolf.
"Liar?" Asked Jaden.
"You were sent to drag me back", growled the Werewolf. "Weren't you?".
"Huh?".
"WEREN'T YOU?!" Roared the Werewolf. The volume of her response caused Jaden and his friends to step back a bit.
"Look, we're not here to take you anywhere", said Jaden. "We just want to talk, uh, whoever you are".
"My name is Welma", The Werewolf growled. "Not that you tamers GIVE A FUCK!". She then tore a chunk out of a tree and threw it at Jaden and his friends. Thankfully, Jaden and his friends dodged it, with Syrus and Chumley jumping into each other's arms.
"Okay, uh, Welma", said Jaden. "We're not here to fight you, we just want to talk". Welma growled and raised the arm that had her duel disk arm.
"You wanna talk?", asked Welma. "Then duel me, ya damn tamer!". Jaden's expression then turned serious and he turned on his duel disk.
"Very well then" said Jaden. Both of them then drew their hands.
"Get your game on, Welma" said Jaden.

"I'll make the first more", said Jaden drawing the top card of his deck. "I summon, Evil Hero Infernal Gainer, in attack mode". His monster then appeared on the field.
"Next, I'll place this card facedown and end my turn" said Jaden.
"My move", said Welma drawing the top card of her deck. "I summon Gladiator Beast Secutor, in attack mode". Her monster was an anthropomorphic lizard with razor sharp claws, wearing blue armour with silver trim and what looked like cannons on it's back.

"Then, I'll place these two cards facedown", said Welma. "That will do for now".
"Okay~", said Syrus, a bit confused. "Does anyone think that Welma's move is too obvious?".
"Definitely", answered Octo. "She placed a monster with less than 500 attack points face up on the field and two facedown cards. That's a very obvious trap".
"My turn", said Jaden drawing the top card of his deck. "Infernal Gainer! Attack Secutor with Infernal Lightning Claw!". Infernal Gainer then covered his claw in lightning and charged forward.
"Ya fell for it, activate trap, Gladiator's Mirror Armour!", shouted Welma. "Now, since you're attacking a 'Gladiator Beast' monster, it's attack points become the same as your monster's attack points".
Gladiator Beast Secutor
ATK: 400 + 1200 = 1600
"Hate to break it to ya", said Jaden. "But, your monster will get destroyed asw-".
"I wasn't finished, you damn tamer!", shouted Welma. "I activate my other trap, Gladiator's resilience! Now, if my 'Gladiator Beast' monster would be destroyed by another monster in battle, it is not. And I get to special summon a 'Gladiator Beast' monster who's attack points are equal or less to the monster that was destroyed".
"So she did have a plan" said Damon. Secutor then destroyed Infernal Gainer.
"Now I get to summon any 'Gladiator Beast' monster with 1600 or fewer attack points", said Welma. "Say hello to Gladiator Beast Sagittarii". Her new monster was a centaur with long, blonde hair, decked out in bronze armour with gold trim, aqua plating and carrying a bow.

"I end my turn" said Jaden.
"About time", said Welma drawing the top card of her deck. "I summon Gladiator Beast Equeste, in attack mode". Her new monster was another centaur wearing dark-blue armour with light-blue trim and mechanical wings.

"Now, attack Jaden directly" said Welma. Equeste then charged into battle.
"I activate my trap card, a Hero Emerges", said Jaden. "Now, you get to select a card from my hand. Best part; if it's a monster, I can summon it".
"Very well", said Welma. "The second one from the left".
"Hey, nice choice", said Jaden. "For me, I mean. You chose, Elemental Hero BladeEdge". His monster then appeared on the field. BladeEdge then destroyed Equeste.
Welma: 4000 - 1000 = 3000
"I activate my Equeste's archetypal ability", said Welma. "I can shuffle him back into my deck, and special summon another 'Gladiator Beast' with a different name from my deck". This caused Jaden and his friends to gasp.
"Did she say Archetypal effect?" Asked Moskii.
"Anyone care to fill in the peanut gallery?" Asked Chumley.
"It means that ALL her monsters have that effect" answered Alexis.
"So, her monsters just, tag out every time they battle?" Asked ShiiShii.
"That doesn't sound fair" said Syrus.
"Say hello to Gladiator Beast Laquari" said Welma. Her new monster was an anthropomorphic, orange tiger wearing red armour with silver trim and a gold horn. In front of it, was a ring of fire held together by metal.

"When Laquari is special summoned by the effect of a 'Gladiator Beast'", said Welma. "It's attack goes up by 300".

"Next, I'll activate the field spell, Colosseum Cage of The Gladiator Beasts!" Shouted Welma. The entire area then turned into a ruined colosseum.
"Holy hell" said Damon.
"She's turned the entire area into a colosseum" said Cherri.
"Now, every time a monster is special summoned from the deck", said Welma. "This field spell gains a counter. And for each counter, my 'Gladiator Beasts' gain 100 attack points. Now, I'll place two cards facedown, and end my turn".
"Alright, my move", said Jaden drawing the top card of his deck. "I summon Elemental Hero Stratos, in attack mode". His monster then appeared on the field.
"Now, thanks to Stratos' effect, I can add one 'Hero' monster from my deck to my hand", said Jaden as he added the card to his hand. "Now, I activate E Emergency Call. This spell lets me add 1 'Hero' monster from my deck to my hand. And I choose Liquid Soldier". He then added the card to his hand.
"Now, BladeEdge, attack Sagittarii!" Shouted Jaden. BladeEdge then charged forward.
"I activate my trap, Sakuretsu Armour", said Welma. "Now, since you're attacking my monster, I can destroy that monster". BladeEdge was then destroyed.
"There goes one Jaden's strongest monsters" said Octo.
"Now comes Sagittarii's archetypal effect", said Welma as Sagittarii disappeared. "I shuffle him back into my deck, to summon Gladiator Beast Retiari!". Her new monster was an anthropomorphic alligator wear black-blue armour with gold trim holding a trident.

"Now, when he's summoned by a 'Gladiator Beast' monster's effect", said Welma. "I can remove one monster from your graveyard from play, so, say goodbye to BladeEdge". BladeEdge then left Jaden's graveyard.
"And thanks to my field spell, it gains a counter", said Welma. "And with that, all my 'Gladiator Beast' monsters gain 100 attack and defence points".

"My move", said Welma drawing the top card of the deck. "I summon Gladiator Beast Murmillo, in attack mode". Her new monster was an anthropomorphic blue catfish with webbing between his fingers and arms with blue and silver armour with jets on it's back.

"That's four monsters on her field" said ShiiShii.
"Then, how about I make it easier?", asked Welma mockingly. "I'll shuffle both Gladiator Beast Beastiari in my hand and Gladiator Beast Secutor on my field back into my deck, to contact fuse".
"What fusion?" Asked Jaden both confused and scared.
"Anyone care to fill us in on what she meant?" Asked Syrus.
"Contact Fusion is a special type of fusion summon", answered Octo. "It lets you fusion summon a fusion monster by shuffling the materials into the deck".
"I fusion summon! Gladiator Beast Gyzarus!" Shouted Welma. Her new monster was a large beefy, green parrot with a red crest decked in grey-blue armour with silver trim.

DEF: 1500 + 100 = 1600
"Now, for Gyzarus' special ability", said Welma. "Now, I can destroy up to 2 cards on the field. So, say goodbye to your Stratos". Stratos was then destroyed after Gyzarus fired off one of his feathers.
"Now, Gyzarus!", shouted Welma. "Attack Jaden directly!". Gyzarus then fired off two of his feathers at Jaden.
Jaden: 4000 - 2500 = 1500
"Jaden!" His friends shouted in worry.
"Now, Laquari!", shouted Welma. "Put this tamer in a casket! Attack!". Laquari then jumped forward.
'It's payback time, you abusive bastards', thought Welma. 'For everything you and you fucker buddies did'.
