apologies for the long wait for this chapter my laptop broke and i just saved up enough for a new one luckily for you all in my time without a computer i wrote out a guideline for the next 30 chapters so ill be able to write those up much faster than i would normally so ill be posting once a week on Sunday until my planned chapters are all posted and then I'm back to coming up with new ideas and posting as time goes on

Last author note for a few chapters just here to explain that the chapters will progressively get longer by at least 500 words per chapter and the goal is to be posting chapters with at least 8k words per chapter but obviously it will take a while to build up to the longer chapters so the first few are going to be shorter ranging from 3k-4k words but once we hit the 6K mark there won't be any shorter chapters but some will still be longer anywhere from 10k-20k words there won't be many chapters with more than 10K words but there will be some. two last things although i still won't be looking at criticism i will look to see what chapter length you guys would prefer so just let me know and since one guy left a comment asking for a specific Gundam i looked into and really liked i have decided i will consider suggestions ight k bye

later that day

Third Person pov (no bias)

Just outside of Masegaki Primary School (that's what google say it's called) which is currently closed down for the next two days while an investigation is ongoing there are a collection of police vehicles as well as a single black motorcycle with two helmets on it - one black, the other yellow - and a very old school four-person black classic car. all of these vehicles were collected together in these early hours of the night for the same reason.

According to witnesses that include both the teachers and - save for one poor boy who was knocked unconscious at the time- an entire class of students, just this morning at roughly 11:00am while the school was having recess a student was kidnaped by a golem of some kind clearly made by a quirk, obviously to anyone who saw the event, that of a villain

the generally agreed upon story between both the adults and children who were interviewed by the first responding officers, is that just a few minutes after recess had started the sand box which was then full but currently nearly empty and more of a pit had suddenly and silently erupted causing a small dust storm that obscured the vision of all who tried to look and see what was happening within

after roughly two minutes of the dust storm staying localized around the sand box all of a sudden the dust storm let up and the sand all seemed to be sucked back into the sandbox in just 30 or so seconds and at that point the entire class save for a few boys who were playing near the woods had gathered around to see what was happening but were kept back from getting closer by the teachers

when the dust had finally settled the entire class could see two things one was a fellow classmate of theirs a young boy named izuku midoriya and the other was the previously mentioned golem although some of the children claimed it looked more like a robot or even an extremely small anime style Gundam that just happened to be made of sand

after just a few moments of the class looking at the two it is noted that the creation slowly and gently wrapped its large hand around the young boy who didn't seem to notice until the last second before it was bursting into action

in a single leap from a kneeling position, it jumped clear over the crowd that surrounded it and made a mad dash for the woods with the small boy in hand

at this point the teachers called the police who dispatched the nearest hero's, the water-hose duo. Unfortunately they arrived too late to the scene and had no chance to help the boy who was taken but they did do all they could, including calming down the panicking students and helping a young blond child named katsuki bakugo who had somehow been slammed into a tree back first leaving him winded and unconscious as well as with a minor concussion but most importantly they managed to stop a small scale forest fire before it could grow into anything serious, although confused as to how the fire was started they didn't have much else they could do to help.

after reporting the situation back to police dispatch the water-hose duo left to continue their work while a team of mountain rescue hero's known as the wild-wild pussy cats were called in from their usual area to head up the search and two local heroes were contacted to assist in them in the search and rescue of the boy who had been carried off into the woods

the police on scene consisted of detective Naomasa Tsukauchi and officer Tamakawa Sansa who were there to find out who or what took the boy as the only officers on duty in the area during the night

the heroes on site aside from the mountain rescue team were the pro hero present mic and the underground hero eraserhead. the pussycats had specifically requested present mic be here as his quirk voice would easily allow the boy to find him in the dark should he have been dropped by the villain at any point and eraser head was only here because he was dragged along as present mics ride since the man himself never drove anywhere

the goal of the hero's was to track the villain a task made easy by the fact that it was constantly leaving a trail of sand behind it and of course to rescue the boy that was taken

currently all three groups were entering the school's playground and heading towards the sandbox which is where the entire incident had started

Naomasa Tsukauchi pov

When entering the school's playground several things immediately stood out. First was the sandbox which I and the others were approaching me and sansa would investigate that area before i went to talk with the adult witnesses. It was almost entirely empty of sand and there was a pit that went down roughly two feet or 60cm in the large box as well as a trail of sand that led towards the nearby woods

Knowing we and the heroes have different goals I spoke up " we should separate and investigate in teams. Me and sansa will check out the area while you guys follow the trail and see if you can find the kid or the villain who took him. alright?" my suggestion was met with a small nod from eraserhead and an enthusiastic "You Got It!" from tiger of the pussycats

with that agreed upon me and sansa headed for the sandbox while the hero's all followed the trail of sand into the woods

once we got to the sandbox i had a big step down into the pit within while sansa stayed out of it to check the surrounding area. My job is to find out what happened here and see if i can collect enough data for a quirk analyst to tell us who the villain is but unfortunately my quirk won't be of any help so it's back to the basics of investigative work for now. First i look around the pit itself to find out the specifics of the situation. unfortunately, the lack of light makes my work slightly harder, but it shouldn't be anything a second sweep of the area won't fix.

With some quick poking and prodding i learned several things that could be helpful in the future, first off there was no hole or loose dirt under the sand, so we know the villain didn't dig his way up from under the sandbox. i also learned that this Villain's quirk seemed to only work on sand as there was no hint of the dirt or rocks under the sand being moved or affected at all. that should narrow down the potential quirks used significantly.

while looking around the sandbox i started looking for any clues that were left behind these could be anything from something the boy had on him when he was taken to evidence that a second person was here. Unfortunately, the search comes up almost completely empty outside of one of the boys bright red shoes, after checking with sansa to see if he found anything and confirming he didn't. I let out a small sigh and hope the heroes are having better luck than we are. with only one shoe i doubt any tracking quirks will be able to find him so it's mostly up to the hero's now (outside of the paperwork of course that was ALL for the police)

"Alright sansa you take another look around here while i go and talk with the teachers, I'll see if they are hiding anything, and you come to me if you find anything new alright?"

the cat headed officer looked annoyed at having to stay out in the dark but begrudgingly agreed "alright Tsukauchi but I'm pretty sure i won't find anything " the feline officer grumbled complaints about the cold and wasted effort but regardless restarted his search from scratch looking for anything he may have missed on the first glance while the human lie detector went to go see if there was any information the teachers were keeping from them.

Aizawa Shota pov

After separating from the police me and Hizashi as well as the mountain rescue team of the "pussycats" -ridiculous name but they do good work- followed the trail of sand and the indents in the ground from where the villain had stepped into the woods for a small distance when the trail ended, there a few meters in front of us we found a small burned area that is around 4 meters wide and just as long. The reports mentioned the water-hose duo had stopped a fire that started here for some reason - was the villain trying to cover their tracks? -

luckily since the fire was stopped before it got too big the trail wasn't too hard to find again on the other side of the burnt area, judging from the direction the trail is leading the villain is probably taking the kid into deep mountain territory. that means there's either a base out in the mountains or the villain is panicking and just started running away from the city as soon as they could. i call to Hizashi " you go with the pussycats I'm going to stick back here and look around" he gives me a thumbs up before following after the pussycats - that name is killing me- who are already walking ahead disappearing into the darkness of the nighttime forest and following the trail left by the villain.

i put my thoughts back to the villain, logically its more likely that they are panicking, with the villain showing up in the middle of nowhere and just grabbing a kid before running off into the woods? that shows a severe lack of forethought. they're probably hopeing to use the kid a hostage or distract us with rescuing the kid so they can run away.

But there's a few big issue with all of this that no one else seems to realize. we don't know who this villain is or what they are running from. sure, this seems like a cut and dry case of a villain who was running from someone - probably a hero- who captured a child during their escape in order to use him as either a distraction or a hostage. but then where's the hero their running from? if they are running from something then why did the reports say the villain showed up inside the sand pit rather than running into the school from outside? and what started that fire? the villain is supposed to be made of sand so how did they start a fire to cover their tracks? - are there more than one? - if there are multiple villains trying to kidnap this kid without leaving a trace what makes him so special? and if there were more than one villain then that would mean this was planned. so was it a lack of forethought or not?

there are a lot of things out of place here and no one else seems to notice, Hizashi might understand parts of it but he's not putting together the pieces -why do i have to be the only hero who takes their job seriously? - whatever. I'm not even supposed to be here so I'll just let the "pussycats" - seriously why - do the mountain rescues. I'm going to take a nap

third person

With Aizawa's thoughts remaining on what the heroes are missing he walks out of the burned area he was looking through and climbs up a tree, pulls his bright yellow sleeping bag out of seemingly nowhere and lays down among the branches to start this night off right with a nap, the moon just started to peak over the Horizen in these early hours of the night, the bright white light of the moon shining down on him made Aizawa look remarkably like an oversized caterpillar. or perhaps a cocoon soon to bring a moth of monstrous size into the world.

Meanwhile The pussycats and present mic were currently speeding through the woods on a wave of earth made by none other than the pussy cats very own Pixie-bob and her quirk earth flow. they were moving as fast as they could manage without losing the trail of sand that was spread all around the woods as if the source of all this sand had been jumping from tree to tree, climbing hills and scrambling up the sides of cliffs with the help of a very large tool also made of sand if the villains quirk was anything to go off of. already they must have gone nearly fifteen miles into the woods and still they had not caught up to a villain who was said to be moving on foot.

all the while as they raced along at high-speed ragdoll kept an eye out for anyone entering the range of her quirk search. in rescues speed was nearly everything. and almost as important as speed is thoroughness. and the pussycats were the top mountain rescue team for a reason. Because with pixie-bob and ragdoll working together they had plenty of both.

slightly Ahed of the group they saw a small stream or perhaps a river in their way with a broken log lay overtop, an easy obstacle to overcome but on the other side there was a small difference from before.

As the team sped over the river tiger noticed the change and screamed out his discovery to his teammates over the wind "Look! the trail the villain leaves behind! it's gotten bigger!" upon looking down from the wave of earth they were riding, while it was hard to tell in the darkness of night, upon playing close attention each hero there could see the trail of sand they had been following through the woods had gotten wider. The extra perceptive ragdoll even noticed something else "It's getting deeper too! the villains quirk must have worn off! " She screamed over the rushing wind.

But this villain had nearly a full 12-hour head start on them and seemed to have rarely stopped moving in all that time even if they were moving only on foot. ragdoll had yet to get a read on the villain as they moved through the forest but luckily, she did manage to get a read on the child that was said to be kidnapped, he was likely abandoned to distract the hero's while the villain escaped. - or at least that's what she thought at first - but before ragdoll could call this information out to her teammates the heroes were already approaching the location her quirk was informing her the child was. This time it was present mic who spoke up over the wind rather than screaming he just used a small amount of power with his quirk to be heard over the wind. "Hey! isn't that the kid we're looking for!?

And just as he said that the full team of pussycats looked and saw the young boy in a small clearing ahead moonlight shining down on him lying in a pile of sand, unmoving. since ragdoll's quirk was able to get a lock on him, she knew he was still alive, but she hadn't gotten to tell them that yet so naturally she called out to them as the wave of earth slowed while approaching the boy "don't worry he's still alive! and the villain isn't close enough to get a read on so we should be safe to take him back"

As the mound of earth transporting the heroes slowed to a stop, they each jumped from it to the ground below with tiger stretching out with the use of his quirk Pliabody to pick up the seemingly unconscious boy before gently dusting him off, ruffling his hair to remove the sand from it before preforming a basic medical checkup to make sure his life wasn't in immediate danger, then presenting him to the other heroes.

" Now that we have retrieved the boy, we need to decide what to do! he appears lightly dehydrated and he's defiantly going to be hungry since he probably hasn't eaten anything since this morning. i say we get the kid out of here now and forget about the villain. it's upsetting but whoever they are they have already escaped and the longer we spend trying to catch up the more we risk this boy's health."

At the stretchy man's remark, it seemed all agreed, but pixie bob decided to send out a small group of her earth beasts to continue on in the direction the trail was going just in case the villain was only barley outside of ragdolls detection range.

just as promptly as the hero's departed it, they re-mounted the large pile of earth under pixie-bobs control and were once again speeding through the woods. this time headed back the way they came at top speed unworried about following any trail as they no longer had anyone to chase.

EARLIER with izuku midoriya the self-kidnaping victim.

Just after the quirk construct had begun its mad dash through the wooded area behind Masegaki Primary School headed in a chaotic path of twists turns leaps and the occasional slide down a hill, all the while slowly losing mass as it was constantly falling apart and leaving incredibly small parts of itself behind. the young boy known as izuku midoriya had fallen unconscious from the constant jostling and the nauseating number of twists turns and leaps his underdeveloped body was being dragged along for.

several hours later when he first woke up, he slowly pried his sand covered eyes open and sat up noticing that rather than early morning like it usually was when he awoke it seemed it would be evening soon, the sun would likely go down in just three or so hours. and then after a few moments of looking around in confusion his memories of what had happened returned to him.

There was the felling of the most violent roller-coaster ride he'd ever been on, there were flashes of trees he was passing by at high speed, the sounds of snaping branches and shattering rocks as something nearly the size of allmight sped through the forest like the devil was on its heels, snaping and biting at its legs if it so much as slowed for a second.

then a shallow river which had a log acting as a bridge that had been stomped on and snaped like a twig. a cliff that had been scaled with the help of a sword made of sand, stabbed into the side of the cliff and used as a foothold to reach higher. a few minutes of a flat sprint before another attempt at crossing a river, further downstream this time there was no log in place to act as a foothold. that was when he had fallen unconscious. although the return of his memory's allowed him to get the general idea of what had happened he was still extremely confused.

in an attempt to get more information, he tried recalling from the start what had happened and to his surprises it actually worked remarkably well. although something was wrong with the information he was remembering. it wasn't quite from his perspective.

deciding he didn't understand what was happing yet he tried remembering again and the same thing happened. rather than just barely three feet off the ground like he usualy was he was remembering that he was standing much closer to eight feet tall. and not only that he could hardly see in these memories. it felt like he had one eye that was stuck shut and covered in... sand? yes sand. for some reason in his memories of when he was taken he was an eight-foot tall one eyed sand thing that... wait a second.

eight feet tall...

sand...

three fingers...

a heavy weight on his back...

sand...

double jointed knees...

one eye in the center of his chest...

a round torso..

sand...

legs much too long...

SAND!

HE WAS REMBERING THINGS LIKE HE WAS THE THING THAT TOOK HIM!

wait did that mean he wasn't remembering his own memories? was that his quirk? if it was then...

Izuku focused and tried to Rember things from the start again but this time understanding what he was "seeing" metaphorically since he was mostly blind in these memories that weren't his own.

at first there was nothing but pure darkness. then there was a light. and izuku knew that was the first time this person had Seen. a small barely visible light of a very dark green. then there was a sound. and izuku knew this was the first time this person had Heard izuku was pretty sure he recognized that sound. it was the same quiet high-pitched noise he heard when the sand thing first showed up. as the sound rung out it looked like the small dark green light got bigger. as the light got bigger the sound got louder, and as the sound got louder the light got bigger. this kept repeating over and over with both of the two things growing and growing until all he could hear was the sound and all he could see was the light.

Then all of a sudden, they both stopped. And he could suddenly Feel. somehow izuku knew this was the first time the person in these memories had ever felt anything. its like they had been in a suspension chamber for their entire existence until now. he could feel he could see he could hear and they were all brand new to him.

the very second thing this person saw was a small green haired child starring up at it as they were being formed from the closest natural material something they suddenly knew was called Sand that was also swirling around the two of them as if to block the world from looking at them. The thing made of sand took a closer look at the green hair of the boy in front of it. although it reminded the creation of sand of the green light it was too bright a color to match. but then upon looking slightly below the hair and into the boys' eyes he Found it, the light was right there in the boy's eyes. Dark and flickering just like he remembered from mere moments ago when the light first appeared and changed everything.

slowly gently he reached out to pick up the boy who was either the source of or the container for the light. and just as contact was about to be made the storm of sand that had been concealing the two of them dropped reveling many more people standing around outside. curiously its perception seemed to slow down with each second passing in reaction to the sudden change in the scenario. one second

at first it was exited. if one person had the light in their eyes surely the others would as well. but upon looking into the people's eyes it didn't see the light that was still flickering away in the eyes of the green eyed boy. it saw awe. it saw confusion. it saw caution. and it saw Fear. but there were no others in the crowd who had the light burning strongly in their eyes. two seconds

now it was cautious. the boy was the only familiar thing in the area, it was experiencing so much for the first time. there were so many things it had to process and analyze. there was too much happening and it knew that it was still waking up. its mind was becoming sharper by the second and it felt like the weight of the world was being lifted from its thoughts allowing it to think more clearly and begin judging the situation. to put it simply the situation felt off, like everyone was waiting for something to happen, like they were all waiting for IT to do something. three seconds

that was when something finally changed. in the distance a sound it recognized. a violent popping sound that ripped through the air. the sound was oddly familiar considering that it had never heard anything before 20 seconds ago. the sound wasn't very far away only perhaps 20 meters (60 feet) in the wooded direction. the sound was that of an explosion. or considering how quiet the sound was compared to most explosions... gunfire? four seconds

that was when it burst into action. all the thoughts in its head were wiped out as its body moved nearly automatically with speed power and precision far greater than expected it leaped over the crowed surrounding it before setting off in a dead sprint for the closest cover, the woods. the last thing it remembered before its body started moving purely on its own in a determined retreat from the area was bright green words flashing in its vision screaming into its mind the words

PROTOCAL THREE PROTECT THE PIOLT

Then it realized it was firmly holding onto the boy with the light in his eyes. and now it was back in the dark. going to sleep is what it wanted to call this. it was going to sleep while its body automatically protected the boy with the light in his eyes. he was called pilot. the boy was its pilot.

Izuku's eyes shot open at this point. no longer was he seeing things from its perspective. no longer was he hearing the thoughts it was having and no longer was he confused as to what had happened. additionally, izuku midoriya was no longer conscious. falling backward into the same sand pile he first woke up in just a few minutes ago. the use of his quirk - which it turns out was not looking into other people's memories - had sapped his already low strength and he was back to unconsciousness. unknowingly awaiting rescue.
