The vision was blurry, the red light slowly penetrated over his own eyes, as the smell of smoke was something that entered his nostrils… something odd, the boy didn't have a slight glimpse of the sense of what just has happened… All that he just remembered was the pain in his head. A slight headache and the uncomfortable lights made the boy who was always cheerful for an adventure wake slowly...
"Ugh… my head," Jaden commented, as he never thought about the events of what just happened… He slowly made his eyes get used to the lights, until he just saw blurry, what remained… A small fire on the other side of a big cave, or a giant room, it was difficult to tell, blinking, he just felt the uncomfortable feeling of the coffin on his back. "What just happened?"
Jaden slowly recovered his vision, he felt something strange on his side, and slowly opening his eyes, he just saw a familiar card… Desperado Barrel Dragon… but differently than the usual cards… it was what remained from a burnt half, and looking around he found the first thing he feared for, something that completely made him get up immediately. Not so far away from the coffin… There was a boy standing up, the iconic white-blue hair, was burned from the right side, the jacket which was on the floor… completely melted, and the body of someone who Jaden prayed to be a nightmare… was bleeding, the boy was standing up with his two hands inside of his pants pockets, the dueling disk on his left arm, completely destroyed and broken with some metal parts melted and with tiny smoke from the remaining of the dueling device… The boy's head stared at the air, however… in his closed eyes, tears of blood dropped from his face with broken glasses…
And the first reaction of the heroic student, who never thought he would see such a thing, he shouted as his entire being regretted for even coming…
"SYRUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS." Jaden shouted as he went in panic, trying to call the attention of his friend who was still with his eyes closed, but still solid on his feet… Refusing to go down...
1 day before...
The Abandoned Dorm, is a forbidden place as per the rules at Duel Academy, and a spooky one at that. It wasn't like any of the dorms today, heck if it was still a verified, living dorm people would be ecstatic to live at least in the Slifer Red Dorm. It was a large, run-down building with boards over the windows and the front door broken open. As lonely as the place was, one person frequently visited since she came to the island. That person was Alexis Rhodes. She walked through the trees and stopped right at the wall and the 'Do not enter' sign. Next, she laid down a red rose at the base of the wall and prayed...
"Be at peace brother, wherever you are...
Alexis decided after finding out where the dorm was to make a little tradition to come and say a small prayer for his safe return. She wrapped her arms around herself to protect herself from the cold and from the feeling of pain.
She missed her brother dearly. The time in which he's been missing had been a difficult time for her and her parents. An emotional mess would've been a nice way of putting it. The comfort of her best friends Jasmine and Mindy was nice and still is to have, but it could only go so far in terms of actually making things better.
Seeing the friendship of the Slifer trio... or more like the duo Slifer and a Ra boy, the group of students formed at the time of the academy, it was something she started to cherish when she spent most of the day around the academy. She knew that at the time Atticus knew that she had great friends, he would have teased her for a long time.
It was difficult to see a talk between Syrus and Zane since most of the duo seemed to be avoiding talking much with each other, but somehow, they seemed to have some internal dialogue, something about Syrus wanting to prove he was the best duelist in front of Zane, and the older brother looks unamused into seeing how the young brother would try to impress him.
But Syrus has talked the talk and walked the walk, and mostly likely, giving the map of where the others should walk. She remembered how tests looked a bit boring, but having Syrus making challenges and taking out of their comfort zones... She always wondered how Syrus would force Atticus to duel with everything he has.
She sighed before turning and walking away from the accursed dorm. She didn't need to be stressing herself out over something that was probably nothing and turning it into something.
At the Slifer dorm's mess hall Jaden, Syrus, Hiro, and Chumley were telling ghost stories to pass the time. After the traumatizing story, Syrus just talked about time travel, an incestuous love, and vomit from a red Slifer duelist. The group was having a very fun time enjoying their own break from school. The next day would be Friday, and they would have the weekend to rest after the long week, and they are excited to enjoy their break. Jaden was happy to know Professor Banner made an exception for him to pass the night talking with the boys before he returned to his room in Ra Dorm, which made the friendship of the group inside of the lodge more fun to pass the night.
"OH HO HO HO. It seems you are having some quite fun, mind if I join you all?" Professor Banner laughed which made Jaden and Chumley jump from their seat, and Syrus raised his eyebrow to him.
"GYAH!" Jaden and Chumley fell out of their seats. While Hiro was on the wall, still surprised to see their professor of the dorm interested in being part of their inner circle.
Jaden turned to see that it was just Banner. "Hey teach," he greeted.
"So what's the other commotion about?" The Slifer Headmaster asked.
"Telling scary stories," Syrus explained since Chumley had gone back to the corner again, cowering. "But since you're here, why don't you draw a card, the tougher it is, the scarier it is."
"Well, that sounds easy enough." Banner drew a card.
It was the F.G.D., and it had the highest level possible!
"That's a Level 12 monster!" Jaden said all excited like. Seeing that they reached the maximum point of the scariest story ever made. Hiro and Chumley gulped in fear, while Syrus narrowed his eyes.
"Well Professor, It's time to give your best shot, the scariest of the scariest you can give. Surprise us... make us scream." Syrus commented as sat on the chair, Jaden was feeling excited, and Hiro and Chumley looked like they were going to regret being on there.
"Hmmm... That's a tough one, but I think I have the right one... Have you ever heard about the abandoned dorm?" Banner acted thoughtful, as he tried to process a good story willing to share with his students, until a spark came to his eyes, and one Syrus immediately recognized which one it was...
"Abandoned dorm?" Jaden, Chumley, and Hiro asked, Syrus raised his eyebrows in interest.
Banner pulled up a chair and sat down. "Did you know that there are actually four dorms on the island?" The boys shook their heads. "Yeah, nobody talks about it but there was one time an abandoned dorm nearby the forest... it was closed after a few Obelisk Students disappeared mysteriously."
"Really?" The boys asked.
Syrus had his eyes wide open, knowing how Banner actually laid the trap, and how he managed to catch some of the students who were chosen by the shadow duelists.
"Where did they go?" Syrus asked in a serious tone, showing not fear, but a determined gaze, interrogating the professor.
"Well that's the mystery of it," Banner replied. "But the rumor was it had something to do with Shadow Games."
"Thanks, you can stop now," Chumley pleaded from behind another table. Hiro gulped a glass of water.
"Yeah, I think I want to go to bed now," Hiro said as he looked at Syrus, and for the first time, the glaze from the blue-haired boy narrowed so much, that he didn't seem scared... But way beyond angry.
"You see, children, Shadow Games are duels that are played with mystical objects called Millennium Items. Boys, this is what we discussed in class today, remember?" Professor Banner commented happily.
"Yeah, yeah, yeah, the time you said the millennium items, which you gave a vague story of their origin," Syrus said as he checked his fingernails, while Professor Banner could identify a hint of sarcasm from his tone.
"That's correct, but the Egyptians, their form of dueling was in Shadow Games. And if you lost, you got sent to the Shadow Realm, a mystical place that feeds on the darkness and fear of those who enter it. According to legend, Shadow Duels were very lethal and some even led to deaths."
"Yes... aaaand?" Syrus asked as he was rolling his hand to make the teacher try to talk about a very scary story but from his own view... What the professor was doing was just admitting his villain monologue and trying to disguise what the shadow duelists were doing behind their backs.
"Oh? Have you ever heard about them before?" Professor Banner showed his kind smile, while Syrus had to calm his glare and his mind.
"Syrus are you okay?" Jaden could see it, usually when Syrus talks about every single professor, he is fine and even defends them, but from all the classes, Syrus just ignores Professor Banner's classes or most likely plays with Pharaoh who seems to have more importance on him than the teacher of archeologist himself.
"I know where they are now. Safe, into a coffin that should never be touched again, also there are other ways to cite shadow duels professor, maybe you should look for some Inka and Mayan magic, try to find the word signer or signers, they have some interesting deep history around." Syrus said in his own mind and the thought comes about one interesting quote. "Do not cite deep magic to me, witch, I was there when it was written."
"Maybe I will Syrus... Maybe I will." Professor Banner laughed as he was feeling jovial towards the interaction with his students, Chumley and Hiro had no idea what was happening, and Jaden had one more question to add.
"And what does this have to do with the abandoned dorm then?" Jaden asked in wonder about the whole thing, seeing how into this Syrus was getting everything from the teacher. "If it was said that the millennium items are inside of the coffin where they belong?"
"Well it's said a rumor about people trying to summon the dark spirits of duel, and in the end lead up the recreation of the shadow games around the academy." Professor Banner replied as Syrus frowned upon the revelation since it was obvious the professor knew what happened about Atticus Rhodes and Yusuke Fujiwara... And at the time Syrus was commenting or even asking about more, Jaden just snorted.
"Come on," Jaden said dismissively. "Millennium Items, Shadow Games, this stuff can't possibly be true. OUCH."
And with that Jaden felt a slap on the back of his head.
"Just for that, give me your Kuribohs, you are grounded," Syrus commented as Jaden looked alarmed.
"What? WHY?" Jaden said in disbelief as he tried to be away from his fingers.
"There were a lot of rumors about Kuribohs being the guardians of Millennium Items, and just for telling them that it's like you are making fun of their jobs," Syrus commented as he raised his eyebrows, and from that comment Jaden had his eyes wide open, gave a slight glance to his deck... and smiled sheepishly.
"Okay, note to myself, apologize to them later." Jaden thought as he could see how Syrus was treating the situation in alarm, but it shouldn't have been in case, since shadow games never existed.
Banner chuckled and adjusted his glasses, "Well that's what most people say, but as the saying goes, in every fable exists a grain of truth." Pharaoh yawned. "Well, I think that's my cue to get back to my room, good night, Children." Banner left out the door.
"Good night, Professor," Jaden, Chumley, Hiro, and Syrus said in unison, as Syrus took a good look from his deck.
"It's a level 7 card. Not a level 12. I'm disappointed." Syrus scoffed as he showed Elemental Hero Bladedge. "Pff, it must be that abandoned dorm I found last week."
"Sweet," Jaden said, already feeling a good idea for an adventure. "Then you can lead the way for us tomorrow night."
"What do you mean tomorrow night?" Hiro asked, and he didn't like the idea of the possible adventure and the relaxed smile the Ra student was giving to them...
"What do you mean us?" Chumley threw in as Syrus narrowed his eyes to Jaden.
"It'll be fun," Jaden said. "We might even find out what happened to all those missing people." Determination leaked through his voice as his self-given goal appeared in his head, showing he was ready for all the challenges. "What do you think Syrus?"
"You want to know what I think? That it's going to be something I'm going to regret going... but you are going to convince me somehow." Syrus commented, already accepting that Professor Crowler was outside listening to their conversation.
Dr. Crowler heard the entire thing from outside the dorm, just 'conveniently' being around the dorm at the time. He heard since the beginning the ideas of horror stories, especially the traumatizing ones, and then he listened to how he had to reflect on the time he was a teacher, and when he stopped actually caring for the students... It was a good time to reflect when suddenly Professor Banner just came and talked about the abandoned dorms... That weirdo teacher came to teach mostly about archeology and mythology of the artifacts and supernatural events... And he shouldn't even be allowed to talk about the disappearance of some students since Principal Sherpard made a full explanation that if the word would come out from someone, the lawsuits the Academy would receive, or even the demoralization of their own boss, would mark their entire careers and the Academy would be closed forever... And the most strange fact... one of the Slifer Students, the Truesdale, always was supportive and accepted all the knowledge coming from all the professors, he never questioned himself, neither Professor Fountaine nor Satir... but when it comes to his own dorm representation... he shows some tone of resentment?
"Maybe that's why they wanted so much to get out from Slifer Red Dorm..." Professor Crowler reflected, but something made him stare hard at the dorm. "I cannot let them walk around the forbidden zone like they own the school. I think they need to have something to scare them away. And for your sake, Jaden Yuki, I hope you give up the idea of going to the abandoned dorm tomorrow."
In Domino City:
In a fog-covered alleyway in Domino City, a scream was heard.
Two men were dueling...and one had just lost.
"O-Okay, y-you win!" the loser said, extremely fearful, "T-Take whatever you want, j-just leave me alone!"
The second duelist was an imposing giant of a man, wearing a heavy black trench coat, a fedora, and an iron mask.
"'Leave you alone?'" the giant asked, "I'm afraid I cannot do that, because what I want...is your soul!"
He held up an object shaped like an inverted pyramid with a single eye at the center of it. The object started to glow.
"P-Please! Mercy!" the loser begged.
"Mercy is for those with weakness" the giant replied, "Of which I have none."
The other man screamed and collapsed in a heap as the glow faded.
"Rest in peace...in the Shadow Realm," the giant said with contempt.
Suddenly, the giant's cellphone started ringing and he answered.
"Speak" he commanded, not happy at having his victory interrupted. He listened for a moment before replying, "Duel Academy...tomorrow night...I'll be there."
On the next morning, the number of students receiving the philosophy of duel from Professor Banner was fewer in comparison to the other teachers, and seeing Jaden already sleeping in the middle of the class, Banner was already used to having a problematic student, however responsible for the kid now was from Ra department, so he could make some complains towards Professor Sartir, and that would make him have a slight punishment...
But the same couldn't be said the same as he glanced at the blue-haired boy, who preferred to play a little with Pharaoh instead of paying attention... The archeologist teacher has lived so long, but he also could identify hostility towards people who came to notice him, and that made the professor imagine if the little student actually knew who he was... But that would be very much unlikely.
Banner remembered the first night they came, and Syrus showed that he admitted that he was a hypocrite, and he didn't mind being called one... That statement intrigues him, for the same idea of him not falling for his gentle nature, maybe Syrus knew that the professor himself was being hypocritical, and he showed a lack of respect to him because he doesn't want to admit who he really was...
So many thoughts and that's what makes it even more intriguing and interesting to his pupil, maybe if he had luck, the boy would remain in Slifer until the end of the semester, but somehow Crowler has been a bit sharper in some way... Something is not right.
And while the Slifer professor has been giving its class, he isn't aware that the door was slightly open, having someone spying on his class...
Professor Crowler usually would come to spy, but instead of spying on the students, especially the one who he usually would have a target since the first day of class... he was now watching closely the professor who was giving the content of the class... Talking slowly, and even giving some philosophical theories and even some chemics about alchemy?
"What the hell he is teaching the class? History of duel I can understand, but alchemy and philosophy?" Crowler watched the class as he was feeling so bored that he wouldn't mind making corrections to the homework just to pass the time instead of dealing with such discourse. And from seeing the Ra duelist Jaden Yuki, Syrus Truesdale distracted themselves, oh, he also found Hiro sleeping with his head on the shoulder he saw that... Chumley seemed to be using... a sketchbook instead of an actual notebook. "This class is a joke."
.
.
.
"You gotta understand Principal Sheppard. Professor Banner has been giving nothing to captivate the students to make them focused in their classes," Professor Crowler usually comes to the principal room to complain mostly about what Jaden Yuki has been a pain on his arse a lot... And seeing the expression of the principal in surprise from him complaining not about the newest addition of Ra? That was something new.
"Well, that's a surprise that you came here, and 5 minutes later, the words Jaden Yuki didn't get out of your mouth." The principal commented as he could see the Obelisk representative almost on the verge of pulling his hair.
"Can you listen to me?" Crowler said as a plea, wanting to prove that something was wrong with Professor Banner. "Why did you even hire him in the first place? It's sure that because of his administration of Slifer Dorm that would cause so many students to fail their tests, and remain in the rock bottom of the Academy."
"I believe you are exaggerating Professor Crowler since Professor Banner was a high recommendation from the chairman Kagemaru... One of the Duel Academy's board of directors. Since the chairman was my boss at the time I became principal I believe Professor Banner has been doing amazing work." Principal Sherpard commented that he would never believe one of his teachers would be slacking towards his students, even Crowler as the painful he is painful to be heard and complain about his routine and students, he always shows some decency when teaching his students.
"Principal Sheppard, Professor Banner started to share information about the abandoned dorm." Professor Crowler didn't want to come out to say this, but immediately got the response he desired, as he brought the attention from the principal at him. "Last night I heard him sharing information about a rumor about people disappearing towards the abandoned dorm,"
"That's bad." The principal nodded his head, as he could comprehend something was wrong with using a piece of forbidden information. But then gave a slight smile, "But I'm sure that he just said that as a rumor and that would be a way to capture the curiosity of the students into learning more from him, so do not worry about that."
Professor Crowler blinked... as he felt his mind almost having a migraine...
"BUT PRINCIPAL, WHAT IF THE STUDENTS DECIDED TO TRY TO SEE IF THE RUMOR IS TRUE?" Professor Crowler was on his limit, even in the times he complained about Jaden Yuki the principal was against him, but even now, when there is the serious secret of students disappearing, and he doesn't care?
"Then the students would be punished for entering a forbidden zone." Principal Sheppard commented coldly, as he wanted to give the end of the discussion about the matter. The obelisk teacher wanted so much cause a big deal... "Is anything else you want to talk Crowler?"
Crowler wanted so much to argue, shout, and even call Seto Kaiba to hear about this matter... However, seeing that nothing he could say would be listened to by the Principal, he just sighed, and turned his back, in silence.
The principal remained sitting on his chair, looking at the window of his room... And with many thoughts in his mind, the possibility of the students who would be chosen to be the key keepers to help to save the school and protect their most precious cards, from the criminals who have been lurking around for so many years... He knew Crowler's concerns this time had some fundaments, however, he couldn't listen to a teacher who always complained every single morning... He was sure that the events wouldn't bite his ass too hard...
It did bite way worse than he imagined. But that was his choice.
The harbor of Duel Academy at night is a mesmerizing spectacle, where the tranquil beauty of the moonlit sea meets the bustling energy of the students' passion for dueling. As the sun sets beyond the horizon, casting hues of orange and pink across the sky, the harbor transforms into a haven for duelists seeking both relaxation and excitement.
Gentle waves lap against the dock, their rhythmic melody harmonizing with the distant laughter and chatter of students enjoying their evening respite. The air carries a salty tang, mingled with the aroma of freshly prepared snacks from the nearby food stalls.
The harbor lights flicker to life, casting a warm glow over the scene. Lanterns sway gently in the breeze, illuminating the pathways that wind around the harbor and leading to various destinations within Duel Academy. The soft glow of the lights reflects off the water, creating a shimmering dance of light that seems to stretch endlessly into the night.
At the edge of the harbor, duel disks hum to life as students gather for impromptu battles under the stars. Their passionate shouts and the clashing of cards echo through the night, adding to the vibrant atmosphere.
As the night deepens, the sky becomes a canvas painted with countless stars, their twinkling lights mirrored in the tranquil waters below. It's a scene of serene beauty, where the excitement of dueling meets the tranquility of the sea, creating an unforgettable experience for all who visit the harbor of Duel Academy at night.
As the professor represented the Obelisk Dorm, was slowly waiting for the appearance of someone who he had been waiting for... until suddenly he started to hear footsteps, and at the time he slowly turned his head, he saw what would be a very mysterious man, with his height been described as very big, and well covered with a black overcoat and mask, it was the person he has been waiting for.
"So you must be the person they call a shadow duelist." Professor Crowler deduced, as he then saw from the mysterious man mullet, that mysterious steam was created to make the most dramatic effect around.
"My opponents call me many things, but most of them have difficulty distinguishing by their screams of pure terror, but enough talk, what is the job?" The man commented as he showed his intimidation and focus on a job he knew he would once more be successful.
" I have some students that need to be scared of a place, so I want you to make sure to be in the abandoned dorm, and do your best to scare them away, make them think the shadow duels are real, and scare them away to make sure to never come back," Crowler explained as he walked in front of the man who was still showing a very big mist coming from his mullet. By giving the map of where the abandoned dorm was, he knew that there wasn't a way to turn back now... "Do you accept the challenge?"
"Of course, I never turn my back towards a challenge." The person commented as he then saw Professor Crowler trying to sneak around the duelist, but he was always prepared to be in front of the teacher, and he received a compliment from the teacher. "Yes, I'm good, and I'm going to prove to not just scare them away, but to also make sure they never would have courage against the shadow games."
And slowly the teacher watched the man walking away from his own shadows... The teacher felt satisfied with the choice he made...
"I can't believe you asked Chumley and Hiro to go back to the dorms Sy," Jaden pouted as the duo crossed around the dark forest, going in the direction where the blue-haired boy knew where would be the next challenge of their adventure.
"Somebody must keep my back while we were out Jaden, knowing that possibly we are breaking rules if we go too far into a place that is obviously abandoned. And mostly, I think Chumley and Hiro wouldn't take enough courage to deal with the possibility of having to cross an abandoned dorm in the middle of the night." Syrus said as he had to justify, Chumley and Hiro, would suffer collateral damage from the terrible consequences which would lead from this... So the best idea? Let them go back and do a backup when people ask about Syrus, Jaden is on his own since he is a Ra dorm, and Bastion has no idea what Jaden is doing.
"Well, if you say so," Jaden said as he then looked at a rose who was in front of the gates of the old dorm. "Hey look at that."
"It's a rose, and it looks recently cut, someone has been here before," Syrus commented, as he could clearly see who was the person who would do that...
Syrus and Jaden heard the sound of something cracking, and both used their lanterns to point in the direction of the noise, which showed to be nobody other than Alexis.
"Oh, hey Alexis," Jaden commented as Syrus looked at the confused girl who just crossed their path.
"What are you doing here?" Syrus asked as he from watching the episodes, knew the reason why she was there in the first place.
"That's funny, I was about to ask you the same question," Alexis said in a sarcastic tone which made Jaden immediately comment.
"We just found out about the abandoned dorm and we came here to take a look," Jaden explained as the blonde Obelisk girl glanced at the place.
"That doesn't seem smart, didn't you know the students somehow disappear over here?" Alexis questioned, knowing that deep inside of her heart, the idea of someone who would be stupid to try to do something like that would be dangerous.
"Ah, that's just an urban legend." Jaden shrugged off her concerns from his good free spirit nature, which Syrus narrowed his eyes.
"No, it's not. What other reason the Dueling Academy would make this place forbidden for everyone?" Alexis asked as Syrus glanced at the abandoned place once more, each second he was counting and trying to figure out where Titan must have been around... "If they catch you here, they are going to expel you Jaden."
Jaden just smiled as he felt not worried about rumors...
"Yeah, yeah yeah, okay, then why are you here?" Jaden smiled cocky which made both Alexis and Syrus very angry with him.
"I HAVE MY OWN MOTIVES OKAY?" Alexis shouted which made Jaden break his mask of confidence and look at her in disbelief.
"Wow Alexis, you don't need to bite me," Jaden said as he looked defensive, seeing Alexis outraged from nothing. "We are just here to take a look, but we are going to stay out of your way I promise."
Alexis sighed, as she tried to compose herself into remembering the fact that the said rumor was true.
"Look, it's just..." Alexis said as she walked a bit away from the duo, but Syrus decided to follow her.
"Just what?" Syrus commented as he followed her, and he knew the reason why she was so emotional in that place.
"One of the boys who disappeared here was my brother," Alexis confessed, which made Jaden look shocked, and Syrus not wasting his opportunity slapped the back of his head. Surprising even Alexis with the loud slap.
"OUCH, Why did you do that?" Jaden commented as he was scratching where Syrus slapped the back of his head.
"How does it taste?" Syrus commented which made the hero duelist look confused by the question.
"Taste of what?" Jaden tilted his head until Syrus commented with a frown.
"The taste of your own foot for saying stupid things like a rumor which existed, and making fun of the disappeared people who left their own families broken or not aware of what happened to them..." Syrus's voice made Jaden close his mouth, and look on the floor, ashamed... "I'm sorry for your loss Alexis,"
"No, it's fine. Just please think before doing something stupid." Alexis commented as she was walking away... And Syrus was following her.
Jaden looked at the rose once again...
"So that's what the rose is for..." Jaden gave a glance to the abandoned dorm, and seeing Syrus following Alexis, Jaden decided to go ahead inside the dorm and return quickly after a few minutes. To across the abandoned dorm, where the night made it even more horrifying, and Jaden now had to cross the place alone, until his friend would come for him... "Man, I was stupid. I shouldn't have made fun of this..."
Jaden by dismissing Alexis, felt like a jerk because she just had lost her brother, and he made fun of the event saying it wasn't real...
"Yeah, it tastes horrible." Jaden refired the taste of his own foot since his lack of tact once more got him in trouble with someone.
"Do you think he is going to be fine?" Alexis commented as she saw Syrus simply shrugging at her.
"I would be surprised if he doesn't," Syrus answered her question, as he waited for the right moment. "I'm going after him, who knows what kind of danger he would get himself..."
Alexis then saw the boy slowly going away...
"I hope you guys know what you are doing," Alexis said sadly as she then turned her back, and when she did, she just saw a grown man appearing from nowhere, she froze at the sudden presence of the mysterious person who slowly raised his hand on her direction.
"I don't get it..." A kid asked as he glared at the man who was playing on his cellphone, a man dressed in a black suit and black glasses. "Even if my father and mother wanted me to go to that school. I don't get why they wanted me accompanied."
The man chuckled... as he stared at the little boy.
"Well, kiddo... it's because your parents are very important, and they paid where I work... so they wanted someone to protect you. But don't worry, I'm well trained... and if you ever think about getting in danger, the person attacking you would think twice before I attack them and make them regret even raising a hand at you..."
"Really?" The kid raised his eyebrow at him. "But why?"
The man took out his glasses and smiled at the kid.
"Because I'm a bodyguard, and I refuse to leave someone behind in danger." The man said with a smile. "But let's start with the right foot... My name is Simon, what about you?"
"Florence..." The kid replied, but then he saw the grow-up man burst into laughter. "THAT'S NOT FUNNY."
"Sorry kiddo... it's because, for the first time, I've always wanted to meet someone named Florence, but don't worry... I'm going to protect you... Because that's my job, a bodyguard." Simon smiled at the kid who looked weirdly at him.
It happened so fast, as she then saw the same man receiving a double flying kick from the last person she would expect doing it. The white-blue hair and the red Slifer Jacket were the recognized items the Obelisk Girl could identify.
And the groan from the man who was surprised and recoiled a few steps away...
Syrus, just went a few steps behind, to just take enough distance to do the double flying kick, to the possible kidnapper of Alexis. And even as the man just gave a few steps back, he must have felt a pain in the chest from the sudden attack of the boy.
But with the recoil of the kick, Syrus back went on the floor, but that made him jump back to his place, and didn't waste the opportunity to attack. So his next move was to jump and go directly for the arms and neck.
"Why you..." The person groaned as he tried to attack the young boy who went straight at him. And it was what the boy wanted, as he used a move that Alexis felt so surprised to see, the boy moved his arms and like a claw made his body jump towards the grown man's neck, and using both his legs, he clinched and made sure with the force, he made himself determined to not let go.
Alexis was still in a frozen state, it felt so unreal about what had just happened, to see her friend's brother fighting someone bigger than her, she wasn't able to understand what happened. But then someone snapped her thoughts.
"Alexis, call Professor Fontaine, tell her someone just invaded the Dueling Academy and attacked you..." Syrus commented as he was doing his best to hold the person who was trying to use her as bait for Jaden, and seeing the girl still not moving, Syrus took all the breath he could. "ALEXIS, RUUUUUUUNNN."
And like a trigger, the student of the female dorm turned her back and ran away the fast as she could.
"I'm not letting you go." Syrus was determined, to save them all... Saving Jaden, saving Alexis, and even saving Titan from the stupid mistake he was about to make.
"You think you are strong enough to take me?" Titan said as he showed the difference in strength, since his body was double the height, and being near the tree, he turned his body and with enough force, slammed Syrus to the tree, which made him groan in pain.
"Ahhh," Syrus felt the painful impact, which made him release a part of his grip, and immediately Titan took him out and launched him on the floor...
Syrus rolled as he made sure to see Alexis at a safe distance... Syrus turned glared at Titan, and did the best thing he could.
"See you later alligator." Syrus ran away, surprising the big man who just stared at him in disbelief.
"OH YOU, GET OVER HERE," Titan shouted angrily as he went after Syrus but the boy quickly used the trees to mislead the big man, who just growled in anger. But it seems that this was enough to make some students stay away from the abandoned dorm, so which means he still would be paid... And then he stared back at the abandoned dorm... knowing there was still a person inside there... He just needed to scare one more person and the job would be done.
Syrus walked a few meters, until he recovered his breath, already feeling the painful sore on his back, from the sudden attack, that was one of the terrible disadvantages of Brazillian Jiu Jitsu, if the person was bigger and way stronger than him, they could use any object to hurt him while he was on the neck-lock.
"Ouch...Dammit, at least Alexis wasn't dragged into this, and with the idea of her calling Professor Fontaine, it may be a terrible decision, but I think that if we work together we could knock him out, and bring him to the police... that way no soul would be dragged to the shad... OH SHIT, JADEN IS STILL THERE." Syrus felt the adrenaline rising in his body and went once again back to the abandoned dorm. This time hoping they wouldn't start the duel.
Jaden explored until he found the middle room of the haunted place, knowing that the place was destroyed over the ages, so still, the boy alone decided to distract himself with little jokes.
"This place looks cool, a little paint on the walls, a few cardboard boxes, and maybe a carpet, and then maybe Syrus, Hiro, and Chumley would love to move to this place," Jaden said as he was still finding it cool the area covered with the Egyptian inscriptions, showing what would be the emblems of the Millennium Items... And even a picture of someone who was placed on the wall... Jaden was taking some admiration on the place... not realizing that someone just appeared behind him, and on his hands, a metal pipe. "Man, why Syrus is taking..."
*Clam*
And on his final moments of conciseness, Jaden could only see the floor, not realizing that he was captured... And probably thinking it was a terrible idea to appear in a place where the students just disappeared.
.
.
.
"JADEN, WHERE ARE YOU. JADEN!" Syrus screamed as he went inside, with the nerves at the maximum potency, looking left and right, trying to find his friend. Jaden crossed corridor by corridor... "Curse you KONAMY for never developing the whole map of the abandoned dorm in Tag Force, it would have been way easier to memorize the area. JADEEEEEEEN,"
Syrus went downstairs and went to the last place of the abandoned dorm, knowing that one thing was sure... Jaden wasn't around... Titan captured him.
"THAT'S NOT FUNNY, COME HERE YOU COWARD, AND LET'S SOLVE THIS LIKE A MAN," Syrus shouted as he then saw in one corridor the mysterious mist crossing around... That was exactly the direction he went until he found Jaden tied up to a weird monstrous coffin, which Syrus realized was both of them. "THERE YOU ARE. JADEN, ARE YOU OKAY?"
"Hehehehe..." Titan chuckled darkly as he walked towards the mist. "He cannot hear you. He is far away locked in the shadow realm."
"So you just knocked him out?" Syrus said as he glared at the man who was still trying to be mysterious there. "Alright, you stop this nonsense, you and me, mano a mano only hands. Let's go."
"If you think I'm going to play little games with you boy, you are mistaken, I'm here to bring you all to the shadow helm." Titan chuckled as he then showed the glimpses of the millennium puzzle, which showed the yellow light to such bright that would make Syrus cover his eyes. "So let me prove to you I'm going to turn your worst nightmare into reality, so let me show you the Shadow Games."
"Alright, then, you want shadow games? Alright, we can do it, outside of this dorm, because this place was used to summon dark spirits of duel, and any person who would try to summon their shadow games, would actually provoke their wrath. So you want a duel? Fine, but not here." Syrus said as he was well versed on the key mistakes that led Jaden and Titan to start the Shadow Games, and the consequences of such a duel would be one of their souls would be brought for the true shadow helm, where the user would be used as a shadow duelist in the future. Something Syrus isn't interested in doing it.
"So this place would be perfect for us to duel," Titan said as he chuckled which made Syrus glare at him. "It seems that you are well versed in the shadow games, so why don't you present yourself?"
"Syrus Trusdale. And you have no idea how much I know about this. I know way more than you ever would." Syrus said as tried to find a way to avoid the terrible outcome, then a good idea struck on his mind. "But to duel against me, I should have brought my dueling disk, and this way, it must be a pity since you have to duel against me normally."
Titan glared at the boy, but then on his side, around the coffin, he brought a blue backpack, coming from the boy he kidnapped, and walking by it, he found something that he knew the blue-haired boy wouldn't have an excuse for.
"So you mean a duel disk like this?" Titan brought from the backpack and had a smirk from seeing the twitching eyes of the said boy. And by launching at the distance, Syrus caught the dueling disk before hitting on his body.
"Oh, Jaden you dumbass." Syrus sighed, as he felt he didn't have any more choice, Titan just dug his grave, more and more... Syrus was trying his best to make sure that it wouldn't wake up the consequences of being in the abandoned dorm. "Okay, I just need this to make an OTK and then it will be quickly, if I have luck, they wouldn't even notice. ARE YOU SURE THAT YOU DON'T WANT TO DUEL OUTSIDE? IT'S SAFER THERE AND WE WOULDN'T BE DESTROYING THE DORM."
Syrus once again questioned the man but the light of the dueling disk and activating from the borrowed dueling disk, still angry with his friend for being a dueling addict... Syrus felt no choice, but to make the duel end the quickest as possible. It's going to be his level 3 deck, and he isn't going to let any opportunity to happen.
"Alright, let's go," Syrus commented as he made his own style of drawing, assured that everything was going to be different. He promised.
"DUEL." Both Syrus and Titan shouted as the duel finally reached the start.
TITAN: 4000LP / SYRUS: 4000LP
"Prepare, you fool from the shadows I summon. Infernalqueen Archfiend in attack mode." Titan was the first person to draw a card and immediately summoned a monster on the field, the annoying scream of the said monster made Syrus close his eyes from the annoying banshee at that time.
Infernalqueen Archfiend
Attribute: Fire
Types: Fiend/Effect
Level:4
Atk/Def: 900/1500
The controller of this card pays 500 Life Points during each of his/her Standby Phases (this is not optional). When this card is targeted by the effect of a card controlled by your opponent, when resolving the effect, roll a six-sided die. If the result is 2 or 5, negate the effect and destroy the opponent's card. As long as this card remains on the field, during each Standby Phase, increase the ATK of 1 Archfiend Monster Card by 1000 points until the End Phase.
"Hmm, an Archfiend Monster, what a surprise," Syrus commented as he remembered that would be the card two-edge knife, is not a very good archetype, until they brought up all the styles of Archfiend Skull, since from Synchro, Fusion, and Ritual and XYZ, an archetype which made a favorite monster of one card belonging from the grandpa of Yugi Muto.
"Indeed, and now this card is out, every monster with an archfiend name gains 1000 attack points." Titan smiled as he could see that his infernalqueen was getting even stronger.
Infernalqueen: 900 = 1900 atk.
"So let me guess, do you have a pandemonium field spell to support your archfiend monsters? Because if you don't have it, you will be losing life points by each standby phase." Syrus wasn't stupid, he wasn't going to underestimate the man in front of him, he wanted to make the duel end quickly, or the true captors of the shadow helm would wake up and everything would go downhill.
"Why yes, it seems that you are well versed in Archfiend Monsters." Titan smiled as he then showed it to the blue-haired boy who wasn't afraid of him. "So let me show you then."
At the time he placed the card into his own disk of the duel, the entire room transformed itself into red colors, making a perfect hellish design around the area.
Pandemonium
Attribute: Spell
Types: Field-Spell
Neither player has to pay Life Points during the Standby Phase for "Archfiend" monsters. Each time a player's "Archfiend" monster(s) is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard, except by battle, that player can add 1 "Archfiend" monster from their Deck to their hand that is a lower level than the destroyed card.
Syrus knew the effects of the card, so he just nodded at the mysterious duelist.
"Well, it seems you are doing this right," Syrus commented amused, and Titan chuckled darkly at him. "What?"
"I know what you thinking… Yo..."
"Are you thought? Are you really?" Syrus commented as he then looked at the coffin where Jaden was placed slowly closing. "Are you really going to close his coffin? Really? Really? It's just the first turn. Come on, finish your turn already."
"Insolent…" Titan narrowed his eyes, as he never thought would see someone in such a rush, wanting him to finish his turn, he was going to make him regret ever dueling again. "I end my turn."
"Then I'm going to make it quick. My turn, draw." Syrus immediately felt a bad omen coming, he knew that he didn't have any other choice… Thankfully his LV3 deck is what he would need for that moment.
The cards on his hands?
Floodgate trap hole
Desperado Barrel Dragon
Proton Blast
BM-4 Blast Spider
Card of Sanctity
Kiteroid
It was like his prayers were answered…
"Alright, I'm going to end this quickly. I set two face-down cards and I summon BM-4 Blast Spider in attack position." And at the time Syrus summoned his card the familiar mechanic claws appeared under the floor, showing the same monster that always has been the start of his personal combo. And appeared two cards in the spell and trap fields, resembling the strategy he had in his hands.
BM-4 Blast Spider
Attribute: Dark
Types: Machine/Effect
Level:4
Atk/Def: 1400/2200
Once per turn: You can target 1 DARK Machine monster you control and 1 face-up card your opponent controls; destroy them. If a monster you control that was originally a DARK Machine destroys an opponent's monster(s) by battle or card effect and sends it to the GY: You can inflict damage to your opponent equal to half the original ATK of 1 of those monsters(s) destroyed and sent to the GY. You can only use this effect of "BM-4 Blast Spider" once per turn.
"What kind of creature is that?" Titan said as he sneered at the monster who showed very good stats of attack and defense points.
"One that it's going to be the start of your headache. Now I activate its effect, which by targeting 1 Dark Machine monster I control, I can choose 1 face-up card you control, and I destroy them both…" Syrus commented as Titan smiled at him.
"So you are a fool for trying to choose my Infernalqueen Archfiend since I can use her effect to roll a chance to negate the effect and destr…"
"I CHOOSE THE PANDEMONIUM FIELD SPELL," Syrus shouted which made the duelist feel surprised by the sudden target.
"What?" Titan said as he was shocked, In the next second, the mechanical spider launched the missiles all from its body, and created such loud explosion, and with that, destroying the illusion of the field spell and revealing the coffin from Jaden who was semi-opened. "You…"
"And I'm not done. By the special effect of my monster in my hand, if a face-up dark machine monster I control is destroyed I can special summon him directly from my hand… LET'S GO, DESPERADO BARREL DRAGON." Syrus turned his eyes at his friend, and he knew the sounds of the clock were ticking and he was feeling he needed to rush even more.
Desperado Barrel Dragon
Attribute: Dark
Types: Machine/Effect
Level:8
Atk/Def: 2800/2200
If a face-up DARK Machine monster(s) you control is destroyed by battle or card effect: You can Special Summon this card from your hand. Once per turn, during the Battle Phase (Quick Effect): You can toss a coin 3 times; destroy face-up monsters on the field, up to the number of Heads, then if the result is 3 heads, draw 1 card. This card cannot attack the turn this effect is activated. If this card is sent to the GY: You can add 1 Level 7 or lower monster that has a coin tossing effect, from your Deck to your hand.
"What the hell?" Titan said as he saw an enormous monster with both arms pointing cannons at his monster… And the roar from the powerful creature in front of him… it was too much, it had 2800 attack points. "What are they teaching in this school?"
"I told you that we should have gone outside, that way it would have been easier for both of us. But nooooo, you wanted to stall the time, and tell about shadow games." Syrus commented that he was feeling anxious, but also very angry. "We could have done a fight hand to hand, but noo, you wanted to end this with I can't believe I'm saying this, A CARD GAME."
Syrus was losing his cool, and the man was looking at the boy as he lost some screws on his head.
"Are you okay?" Titan asked, breaking a bit of his intimidating persona, as he could see the boy was getting very much, anxious.
"No, I'M NOT OKAY. I'm going to end this duel. Now battle phase, Desperado attack Infernalqueen Archfiend." Syrus said as he was feeling by each minute, his stomach was grumbling, he wasn't feeling fine… the anxiety, the fact if they didn't get out quickly, that would end the duel.
Titan didn't know how to respond to that, as he could see the enormous dragon launching a very powerful blast and in that way, not just destroying his Infernalqueen but also damaging his life points.
Titan: 4000 = 3100LP
"End of my turn. Dammit," Syrus cursed, he very much wanted to make an OTK however the circumstances weren't helping him at all…
"Well then," Titan recomposed himself as he tried to think of another strategy… his hand showed his terrorking couldn't be summoned in the field without having another archfiend monster in the field. "My turn draw…"
And then by some miracle, Titan felt satisfied when he discovered he found a spell card that he needed most.
"Alright then, I activate the spell card, double summon, which allows me to summon twice on this turn." Titan smiled as he had a very good strategy for what would be the best combination of cards. "I summon Desrook Archfiend in defense position."
Double Summon
Attribute: Spell
Types:Normal Spell
You can conduct 2 Normal Summons/Sets this turn, not just 1.
At the time Titan said that a very big monster appeared on the field, like a very old version of Skull King, but only its head, Syrus raised his eyebrow in amusement, trying to understand what was his plan.
xxxxxxxxx
Desrook Archfiend
Attribute: Light
Types: Fiend /Effect
Level:3
Atk/Def: 1100/1800
The controller of this card pays 500 Life Points during each of his/her Standby Phases (this is not optional). When this card is targeted by the effect of a card controlled by your opponent, when resolving the effect, roll a six-sided die. If the result is 3, negate the effect and destroy the opponent's card. When a "Terrorking Archfiend" on your side of the field is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard, you can send this card from your hand to the Graveyard to Special Summon the "Terrorking Archfiend"
"And now that I have an Archfiend Monster on the field, I can summon my other Archfiend Monster, by using the effect of my double summon…Show him true darkness, Terrorking Archfiend" Titan shouted as he made one of his monsters finally appear on the field, a monster who had the appearance of a weaker Skull King, but yet showing some intimidation… "Now you have two archfiend monsters to deal with. And I end my turn."
Terrorking Archfiend
Attribute: Dark
Types: Fiend /Effect
Level:4
Atk/Def: 2000/1500
This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Flip Summoned unless you have an Archfiend Monster Card on your side of the field. The controller of this card pays 800 Life Points during each of his/her Standby Phases (this is not optional). When this card is targeted by the effect of a card controlled by your opponent, when resolving the effect, roll a six-sided die. If the result is 2 or 5, negate the effect and destroy the opponent's card. The effects of an Effect Monster that this card destroyed as a result of battle are negated.
"Well, good for you," Syrus commented as he glared at both monsters… The first action Syrus would have done was to simply activate the effect of Desperado… But he knows one thing about Archfiend Monsters… they are some of the first kinds of negating monsters when it's related to target effects on them… Meaning, he has a great advantage… Since he had destroyed one card he will be cursing himself for not placing again on the field. "My turn, draw."
Syrus took the opportunity to draw a card, a Black Salvo, that card would be great for an emergency case he would need to have for the future, however, he was in a hurry, and was between a dilemma, if he attacked the Terrorking Archfiend, he would only make Titan suffer 900lP of damage, but if he stalls the time, he would make Titan loses 1300LP for his own effects… Or he could risk everything by using Card pf Sanctity but the effect would apply for also Titan who had fewer cards than him… "Alright, I want you to play 1300LP, I end my turn."
"What?" Titan had his eyes wide open until he realized that both his monsters and without his Pandemonium card… he indeed had to suffer the consequence of summoning both of them. "Why you… Fine, my turn, draw."
And at the moment he did that, both monsters dimmed in red light, which made Titan suffer a terrible loss of 1300Lp from both his monster's effects.
Titan 3100 = 1800LP
"You better give up dude… it's way quicker if you place your hand over the deck… surrender is not defeat. You can become way better in the future." Syrus tried to once again make the person change his mind…
"You… are making fun of me," Titan growled as he took something from his pocket. And Syrus's eyes went wide open as the man once again showed what would be a perfect replica of Millennium Puzzle. "So let me show you the true fear of the darkness…"
And with that, the millennium item showed its true shiny bright light, which made Syrus turn his eyes away… and from the place a terrible black smoke appeared on the area…
And Syrus, felt nothing… since he never got any Life Point damage.
"Welcome to the true Shadow Game, where each Life Point you lost, you…"
"ARE YOU FOR REAL?" Syrus shouted in disbelief. "Seriously? The Millennium Puzzle? Did you ever do your research right?"
Titan felt himself once again losing his composure… because Syrus decided to take a break from the duel and immediately walked in the direction of the giant man.
"I can't believe from the 7-millennium items, you would choose one that you have no idea what kind of millennium item you have. For EXODIA'S Sake, I would have been shit scared if was the Millenium Ring, or I would be pissing myself if was the Millenium Balance, but no, it was the Millenium Puzzle, which was one simple way to detect if was true or not." Syrus walked nearby Titan, who just gave a step back… Syrus quickly placed both his hands over the Millennium Puzzle and said something that all the fans of the franchise would have said at the time if they had the same opportunity. "YUGIOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH."
Syrus shouted as Titan looked at the boy who suddenly shouted… waiting for something to happen, even if was something weird to happen… but at that moment, nothing, not a light, not an effect… nothing… Which made the boy, glare at the man with nothing more than disappointment.
"I just made a fool of myself, and simply like that, I know that your Millenium Item is fake. Now this shadow game is a joke, it's not a shadow game. And because of that, I'm going to confiscate that." Syrus looked angry as he took a knee on Titan's most precious jewels and without reaction, Syrus took from his hands what would be his special item to trick all the people to duel him.
"Hey, that's theft, you shouldn't do that," Titan said angrily, but Syrus ignored him and placed it on the blue backpack where Jaden's duel disk was…
"It's my souvenir from now on. You lost the right to use it since you didn't know how to use it properly." Syrus commented, as his inner fanboy was grinning for having a perfect replica of the millennium puzzle… and he wasn't going to refer to the forbidden episode 0, where it was treated to be the forbidden zone… Let the pharaoh rest on his coffin and enjoy his own paradise with the idea that the Millennium Puzzle isn't the cruelest of the millennium items. Just thousands of corridors with dangerous doors. "Now, let's end this duel befo…"
And at the worst moment, each light coming from a snake stone started to shine, and with a light bright the rays coming from their mouths finally went into the middle of the room…
"Oh no," Syrus commented, as the time the lights went together, the bright light became the form of an eye, showing the same symbol of the millennium item which was the cause of a room trembling and the smoke becomes a tornado and engulfing both the area, covering both Titan and Syrus.
"What's happening?" Titan asked as he tried to remain on his ground, while Syrus tried to look calm…
"Whatever it is, stand your ground," Syrus instructed as he went side to the giant who looked at him in surprise. "This place is haunted by dark spirits, which is why I wanted so much to duel outside."
"Wait, so you mean they were real?" Titan asked as he broke his persona completely.
"Yes, now follow me to Jaden," Syrus called as he went directly to his friend who was still unconscious, and remembering where his deck was… He looked desperately for a miracle.
Then coming from above of the terrible dark aura of the realm, suddenly tiny gray creatures, hundreds of them, approached in their direction.
"WHAT IS THIS?" Titan shouted in panic, as Syrus moved card by card from every elemental hero card until he found what he was looking for.
"Please, please, Jaden is going to lose his soul without you, please save us…" Syrus said as he closed his eyes, and raised 3 cards in front of him, praying that his fear wouldn't overcome him…
And the creatures slowly were approaching them, which made both of them on the verge of panic… until suddenly they stopped. And slowly they back off from their direction.
"What just happened?" Titan said as he looked at the creatures slowly moving away from them. "What are you holding?"
"Thank you for once again proving to be the guardians of the Millennium Items, you saved our souls… Even if I'm not able to see you or hear you after all." Syrus whispered his gratitude slowly placed the three cards back into Jaden's deck and made it back to his pocket. "Please continue protecting us, Kuriboh and Windget Kuriboh."
Titan looked at the boy confused, but from the serious face the boy had he looked at the giant once more.
"I don't know what your name is… but I'm not going to let a soul be dragged to a shadow realm, I have a brother, and parents waiting for me at home, and I hope you have someone who cares about you as well…" Syrus said as he looked at the dueling disk, and was staring at the monsters in front of him…
Titan felt the dread around, and seeing that he had no one else to trust… but the boy on his side…
"I made a terrible mistake… But I also have a daughter and a wife waiting for me, I also don't want to be dragged to a shadow realm, to a place I didn't know it actually existed." Titan said as he himself gulped the fear he had in him.
"We are going to get out of this. I promise that you are going to see them soon." Syrus commented as he received a nod from the adult duelist.
"I will hold you for that," Titan commented as he stared at the monsters who suddenly decided to become liquid together and become bigger. "Look they are…"
"Merging with each other… REVEAL YOURSELF, WHOEVER YOU ARE." Syrus shouted until the liquid monster became a mist… And suddenly attacked the Slifer duelist who felt attacked… not just by the mist who passed through him, but also around his own deck… "AHHHHH F***"
Syrus felt the spirit wave and terrible pain on his inside, but then he was still holding up… And stared at the mist with a glare…
"Syrus Trusdale… Titan… Your souls are wanted in the shadow realm… You both must duel against each other, and one soul will escape from here." The mist said as if it was a spirit controlling the shadow realm, and at the time Titan was about to be shocked…
"OH HELL NO," Syrus shouted, as he remained on his ground… "You're not going to make me duel him, we aren't into a shadow duel, we never had…"
"Yes… you aren't… but now…"
"Now nothing, we are not going to duel, we are not your sick puppets for being dragged into a shadow realm, you have no power over us…"Syrus said as he stood his ground, knowing that the pain he felt was like receiving a hit by a car… But he suffered worse… And he was going to do everything to drag nobody inside of this stu…
"Very well…" The mist said in an ominous tone, which made Syrus blink…
"Wait what?" Syrus asked as he felt something wrong was happening… he felt like mini monsters chuckling at him…
"If you think you can defeat me… then try to duel against me, your souls would be interesting to bring inside of the shadow realm anyway… the one who provoked the fake shadow duels…"The mist said as it chuckled from seeing Titan sweatdropping in fear… and then the spirit glanced at Syrus. "And the Wretched Wielder…"
That comment made Syrus tilt his head until slowly his eyes turned wide open, and immediately he took the deck from his dueling disk…
"oh f***…" Syrus commented as he realized what happened…
cycroid,
gyroid,
steamroid,
submarineroid,
patroid…
The cards… were exchanged, and from the archetype, he ripped every single card… from useless traps and spell cards to even monsters whom he got so disappointed… in the end… this shadow duel was a trap from the beginning…
"Oh f***" Syrus said once it was determined… he was afraid… and without a guarantee of winning…
TO BE CONTINUE...
