Bella

In my dream there was both light and darkness. A black wolf with blue eyes staring and growling at Edward who was standing in the darkness, light shining off his skin. They started fighting and I woke up. After that my dreams were filled with the wolf and Edward fighting every night. The first month that followed the accident was interesting to the least.

I was the center of everyone's attention and Edward quit talking to me, treating me like I was an illness. I distanced myself from Liz, she paid a lot of attention to me and was dead set on keeping me away from Edward. That made me feel like an outsider minus all the attention I kept getting from the school and Tyler. He has been following me around everywhere like a lost puppy dog. Everyone talked about the wolf. They wondered why it didn't attack and why it didn't eat me. I haven't told anyone but it didn't seem hostile, it jumped in the way of Tyler's van like it knew me. The only thing that made no sense was how Edward got to me so fast. He won't talk to me so I can't exactly ask him. Everyone keeps clear of him like the plague. It makes no sense. When he sits next to me in class he stays as far away as he can. He seemed to act like I didn't exist. One day I decided I was done! I was going to talk to him no matter what my sister wanted and no matter how he acted towards me.

"Hi Edward." I said and he stared at me.

Then he looked away and the rest of the week went that way. Renee wasn't much better. She emailed me daily and I didn't respond much because I was busy, but a little frustrated. She thought I was depressed and it drove me crazy. I need to write to her.

Now that that was done I turned off my phone. Then Jessica yelled my name and came over to me.

"Hey Bella! I have a question. Were you going to ask Mike to the dance?" Jessica asked.

"No Jess, I'm not going. I plan on going out of town with Elizabeth to go visit our Mom. You should ask Mike." I said.

She smiled and ran off. Later on my way to Spanish Jessica seemed off. Mike probably turned her down. I knew I would be the last person on earth she would talk to about it. At lunch Mike and Jess avoided each other. Liz sat by herself because she was studying for something. At least that's what I thought. We hadn't really talked to each other since I spilled the beans about her adoption. The bell rang and I headed towards biology. When I got there Mike was standing outside the door.

"Hey Bella, can I talk to you?" Mike asked.

"My answer is no Mike. I take it Jessica asked you and I'm sorry but I won't hurt my friend like that. Besides, I'm leaving town that weekend. Now excuse me." I heard laughter erupt inside the classroom.

I knew that laugh anywhere it was my sister, who had also changed a bit since the accident. Mike followed me in and walked by. I sat at my seat and then I heard a grunt and thud. I turned to see my sister standing over Mike.

"You're lucky that was only a fraction of what I could do. You better tell Jessica yes you jerk. I'm not easy and neither is my sister you jerk." Liz said.

Mr. Banner yelled at Liz to go to the Principal's office. She did and glared at my table before she left. The rest of class was uneventful except for Mike having to go to the nurse's office because of Liz. I hoped it would stay that way. I was worried about Liz.

"Bella?" I turned to Edward.

"What Edward? You ignore me and now you want to talk? Just leave me alone." I turned away as the bell rang.

Elizabeth

I sighed as my father was called. I knew I would get into trouble. I just didn't care. Mike doing what he did pissed me off.

"Elizabeth," I turned to see Alice next to me, "are you okay?"

I smiled at her, "yeah. I'm okay. Just waiting."

She took a seat next to me.

"I have a question," I tilted my head, "ask away."

"How much do you know about us? About our lives?" My smile vanished.

"I know more than you would expect. Years worth of yours and their lives. So many, but it's subject to change. Especially because of me. I can't tell you how, but it's why I warned you not to take Bella out during the thunderstorm. Three vampires come and one is a hunter. Your family's reaction to protecting Bella sets him off and he starts hunting Bella. He tricks her with a recording of our mother from her ballet studio," she looks confused, "does he come after you?"

"I don't know," she frowned at me, "if you know what's going to happen to your sister why wouldn't you know what's going to happen to you?"

I glared at her, "it's not always that easy, Alice. Do you see anything pertaining to your own future in your visions?"

She looked surprised, "no. Not very often."

"Ms. Swan," I looked up, "my office please."

"I'm coming," I stood up, "talk later, Alice. Call me if you have any more questions."

After School

Elizabeth

So I got suspended and Charlie wasn't mad at all once I told him why I snapped at Mike. He was being sleazy about asking people to the dance. If anything he laughed and said he got what I deserved. I told him I'd just stay at school in my truck to take Bella home after school. He said that was fine and I gave him a hug before he left. I watched as he left in his cruiser from my truck. He was an amazing dad and even though I wasn't biologically his I couldn't ask for a better dad. I got stuck in my thoughts when I noticed someone lean against my truck in the driver side mirror. I soon realized it was Eric. I groaned and rolled my window down a bit so I could listen.

"Hey, Eric." I heard my sister call out.

"Hey, Bella." I could hear the nervousness in his voice.

What the hell is with these teenagers?

"What's up?" Bella opened the driver side door and tossed her bag over me and slammed the door shut.

"I was wondering if you'd go to the spring dance with me?" I rolled my eyes and buckled up.

I rolled up the window not wanting to listen to the rest of that conversation. Having a feeling I would be stuck with someone else asking her out shortly. The passenger door was yanked open and I started the truck. I heard a chuckle over the engine and saw Edward walking past the front of my truck.

Stupid fucking dick.

His head turned to me and I smirked at him. The door slammed shut and I pulled out of the parking lot.

"What did Eric want?" We were able to get out of the parking lot quickly without being stuck behind Edward.

"He asked me to the school dance. I'm surprised you're even here since you didn't come back to class." I laughed.

"Yeah, I'm suspended for a couple of days. Dad didn't ground me though once I told him why I did what I did. He was very proud." Bella was silent.

"Why do you call him dad even though you're adopted?" She didn't just ask that.

I swerved abruptly to the side of the road and put the truck in park. I turned the truck off. I felt really angry and took a deep breath. I turned to face Bella.

"So fucking what," yeah I was still very pissed, "you had no right to even fucking tell me. You only told me because you wanted to hurt me. Charlie is my dad. He raised me and has always been there for me. I will always call him dad because that is what he is. Don't ever, ever fucking insinuate that I would ever be a disrespectful little shit to him and not call him dad just because he didn't give birth to me. Now get out."

"What?" She sounded shocked.

"Get out of my truck. Walk your ass home." She opened her mouth to say something.

"If the next thing out of your mouth isn't an apology I'm going to punch you in the face. Now unless you want a black eye or a broken nose, get the fuck out of my truck, Bella." Her mouth closed and then she scrambled to get out.

I heard a honk and looked in my rearview mirror. It was Edward in his shiny silver Volvo. I snarled.

If that bastard offers her a ride I'm gonna rip off a limb and beat him with it.

I reached over and rolled the window down, "there is a casserole dish in the fridge. It has dinner and needs to be cooked for about forty five minutes. See you at home."

I rolled the window up and drove off.

Bella

I had never seen Elizabeth so angry before. She always kept her cool and even when someone made her mad she kept herself in control. Something was different and I was shocked when she kicked me out of the truck. I saw a flash of silver and looked down to see Edwards' car in front of me.

"Bella, are you okay?" I bent over looking in through the passenger window.

"I'm okay, thank you for asking. Um...do you have room for one more?" I heard a scoff from the backseat and the door opened.

I stood up and watched Alice and Jasper step out.

"We have somewhere in town to go so Edward can give you a ride. See you later." They walked away.

"Thank you." I was confused at the change in attitude towards me.

"Get in, Bella. I'll take you home." I nodded and climbed in the back of his car.

Elizabeth

I called Charlie before I left Forks. I called and told him I was heading to La Push to see Jacob. He asked if everything was alright and if I would be home tonight. I let him know I would be home by nine and that I needed to talk to him when I got home. He accepted that and hung up. I grit my teeth as I drove past the leaving Forks sign. I understood not everything was going to be the same in this life because I existed, but why the hell was Bella such a bitch? Soon I reached a stretch of road that allowed me to see the beach and a cliff. I pulled over and climbed out of my truck. I stood by the railing that prevented cars and civilians from falling to their death and took a deep breath. I smiled at the smell of the sea. I hadn't been to a beach in a long time. I always loved swimming in my last life and hadn't done it for a few years. I also recognized this stretch of road from the movie New Moon shortly after Bella and Jacob had found the bikes. Bella had freaked out to see kids cliff diving in nothing but shorts. I smiled and walked back to my truck. I climbed in and finished heading for Billy's house. When I pulled up and parked I heard howls from the trees and quickly climbed out. As Billy's front door opened I was picked up and spun around in a huge hug. I laughed and hugged Sam back.

"I've missed you, little sister." I smiled.

"I've missed you too, Sam." He finally put me down.

"Hello, Elizabeth." I turned to Billy and smiled at him.

"Hello, Billy. How are you? I'm well. Why don't you go out for a run with Sam?" I looked at him confused.

"Jacob's not here and I believe I heard some eager howls in the forest." I smiled at him.

"Thank you, Billy," I pushed Sam and started running, "catch me if you can, slowpoke!"

I heard laughter behind me.

A Few Hours Later

I was pulling into the driveway in front of my home. I had dinner at Sam's house and finally met Emily. It wasn't hard to figure out there was tension between Leah, Sam, and Emily. I climbed out of my truck and saw the front door open. I smiled at my dad and walked up to him and hugged him.

"Are you okay, Elizabeth?" I pulled away and smiled.

"Can we talk?" He nodded and I followed him inside.

He took a seat on the couch and I sat next to him. I reached out and held his hands in mine. He is my dad and I know bringing this up will be difficult.

"Dad, about a week ago Bella got angry with me at school. She was mad that I took the initiative to make friends with some kids that she wanted to be friends with and in the process of her being angry she told me something," I took a deep breath, "she told me I was adopted."

I felt his hands tense and I looked up at him. His brows were furrowed and I could see how angry he was.

"I don't care who gave birth to me, Dad. You are my dad and knowing this isn't going to change a thing." I felt his hands relax in mine, but I knew he was still angry.

"She had no right to tell you," I smiled at him, "I know, Dad. It's why I wanted to talk to you privately and wanted to tell you that you are my Dad. No one else is or ever will be. You have been there growing up and I will always turn to you before anyone else because you adopted me and treated me as your own. You've been an amazing dad and I couldn't ask for a better one when I've got the best one here in front of me. I love you so much, Dad."

He smiled at me with unshed tears in his eyes. I let go of his hands and hugged him.

"I love you too, Liz. I am sorry you were told the way you were, but you are my daughter and I will always be here for you," I nodded my head, "I know you will, Dad."
