Dave and Reid changed directions and silently sped toward the house that Derek had shared with Savannah. Both feared the worse neither spoke of the terror pounding and brutalizing their hearts. So much had happened already and none of them could handle much more, especially Derek. If there was any consolation Dave and Reid were closer to Derek's old house than they were to his current residence. Four minutes; so much could happen in four minutes.

Dave stopped the SUV across the street and both he and Reid watched as Derek and the other man stepped inside. Exchanging glances, the two quickly headed across the street. Once they got to the front door voices could be heard and it was obvious that they were out of time.

"When did my marriage become your business, old man?"

"I loved Savannah! I was in love with Savannah!"

"You were old enough to be her father! Her parents trusted you with their child, you damn pervert!"

"I'M NOT A PERVERT! I loved Savannah and I was ready to give her the life and family she deserved! All she had to do was divorce you! She belonged to me! And Hank... he...he was supposed to be my tomorrow!"

"What are you talking about? Hank is my son! What are you saying?"

"I was so happy when she told me she was pregnant. My wife and I were never able to have children; I blamed myself, but when she announced that she was pregnant..."

"...Hank is my son!"

"YOU DON'T DESERVE HANK!"

"Did you kill my wife?"

"How can you tell someone that you love them, that you're having a baby then just take it back?"

"You sick son-of-a-bitch, what have you done?"

"She tried to take it back...you're the reason she's dead! You ruined our lives; you ruined my life! You took the one thing that meant everything to me!"

"You don't have to do this."

"But I do, don't you get it? You took Savannah from me," ...then...

... "now I'm going to take your love from you."

Derek felt a stinging heat as the bullet whizzed past his head just as the door sprung open, then like a slow choreographed dance, Artemis Maker's body floated to the ground. With guns drawn, Dave and Reid watched the same dance, the still body, and the shocked stare of their friend across the room. They'd made it in time.

"Morgan!" Reid shouted.

"I'm okay..."

"You're bleeding," Reid responded.

Dave knelt next to Artemis' body confirming that he was dead.

"It's just a scratch," he assured. "What are you...how did you know I was here?"

"One guess," Dave joked joining them.

"Baby Girl!" Derek answered.

"You know it," Dave confirmed.

Potomac General Hospital –

Derek was in trouble. He was supposed to call her. Things happened so fast. Derek, Dave, and Reid exchanged wide-eyed looks as the sound of her heels against the tile floor rushed toward them. They all were in trouble; the anger in her eyes confirmed that as she appeared through the doorway.

"You are in so much trouble, mister!"

"I'm so sorry Baby Girl..." Derek stuttered as Dave and Reid made their way toward the door.

"HOLD IT RIGHT THERE YOU TWO!"

Dave and Reid froze and slowly turned to face her. They'd faced down the worst of the worst, but nothing compared to the wrath of the Oracle; a force that could literally make anyone disappear with one keystroke.

Then a smile ever so slight, appeared across her face which stunned them even more.

"Thank you, both of you. Thank you for saving my Hot Stuff."

"We're family. We take care of each other," Dave replied.

"Well, you three are darn lucky that Derek is being discharged in an hour with just stitches or you'd all be in time out," Penelope joked, as she wrapped her arms around Derek's neck.

Clarion Hotel – Morning –

Charles watched as his wife flitted around gathering Hank's belongings and trying to make herself busy. The court had ordered them to return their grandson to his father by nine a.m. which was less than an hour away. What was meant to gain custody of his daughter's only child had turned into a nightmare which could very end in them never seeing their grandson again. Not only that but the detective had warned them both that they could be facing jail time for their part in the late Artemis Maker's plans.

"Come sit down," he pleaded taking his wife's hand and leading her to the couch.

"There's so much I need to get done," she protested, Derek will be here soon."

"There's time. We need to talk."

The couple sat down as Charles took his wife's hands in his.

"I need to know that after we return Hank that you're going to be okay," Charles began.

"I can't imagine not seeing my grandson when I get up in the morning, Charles. This is so unfair!"

"We'll visit, Hank can visit us and..."

"Are you kidding? After everything that's happened do you really think Derek would let us anywhere near Hank?"

Derek renewed his grip on Penelope's hand as they stepped into the hotel elevator. She could feel him struggling to balance his nerves and his anger. So much had happened and he'd nearly lost his son and his own life because of Charles and Lydia Hayes, and everyone was expecting him to play nice, but how could he?

"You're shaking are you ready for this?" Penelope asked.

"Am I ready to get my son back, hell yes!"

"No, are you ready to see Savannah's parents," she began. "They're victims too, just like you."

"Baby Girl, those people invited a killer into their daughter's life!"

"That's not fair..."

"That same man killed my wife and then the Hayes hired him steal my son so he could live out some delusion that Hank was his son!"

"Handsome, I know you're upset, and you have every right to be, I'm just hoping that you weigh all of your decisions..."

Derek leaned down and placed a light kiss on her forehead.

"I know, you're right. The only thing that matters is my son and what's best for him."

Charles and Lydia froze momentarily at the sound of the elevator. It rang a second time before Charles found the strength to answer the door.

"Derek, Miss Garcia, please come in."

"Is my son ready?" Derek said as he stepped inside.

"Uh, y-yes, we were just gathering the last of his things," Charles began. "Before we get Hank, Lydia and I were wondering if we could talk."

Derek looked at his former in-laws and then at Garcia before responding.

"I'm not sure what we have to talk about."
