Hello, and welcome back to the Vault for an answer to Whitetigerwolfs Mutants son challenge, rules below:

MUTANT'S SON CHALLENGE

I've seen a lot of X-Men Crossovers (in movies and comics) in which Harry is actually the son of Jean, Scott, Storm, Wolverine, and various combinations thereof. Well I wondered, what if he was Charles son? or one of the other X-Men? Or even Mystiques (I've seen one or two where he was raised by her, but none where he was actually her son)?

Requirements:

- Harry must be the child of one of the following: Professor X, Mystique, Colossus, Rogue, Shadowcat, Nightcrawler, Domino, Beast, Psylocke, Juggernaut, Lady Deathstrike, Wolfsbane, or Marrow (These are my ten favorite X-Men Characters plus Professor X and two of my favorite Villains, besides Mystique, because Mystique was the only Villain in the list). If you'd like to do a different character, PM me or Post. As long as it's not a character I don't like or that I think is overused (the only one I can think of that I didn't list in my intro was Magneto), I'll likely say yes, but I'd prefer one of the ones I listed.

- Harry's parent either cannot know about their Harry or had left him to be adopted by the Potters in an effort to protect him

- Harry cannot be paired with another boy, if you make him FemHarry, then you can pair her with either a boy or girl, but male Harry can only be paired with a woman.

- Harry cannot have more than three abilities (There are exceptions, if you ask. For example: I consider enhanced senses, one power, and not a separate power for each of the five senses you want to enhance. If you think your powers need exception, as long as they aren't all super attack powers that will turn Harry into a god-like entity, I will probably accept them.), and he cannot absorb other mutants powers. (remember, he has magic, which will make him powerful already)

- Harry's powers CANNOT manifest until his third year, at the earliest.

- Harry's parent, whether they knew about him or not, must care for him (in their own way if necessary)

- Harry CANNOT be tutored in magic by Stephen Strange or Agatha Harkness.

- The wizard world must either not know or care about mutants, as they are "a muggle problem"

- Harry MUST be the only mutant at Hogwarts, if he is one at all. (Magic itself could be considered a mutation after-all)

Recommended:

- Harry being the result of a drunken one-night stand between the mutant in question and Lily

- FemHarry

- Harry having abilities similar to, if not exactly like, his parent

- Harry paired with a mutant (I'm going to list my full recommendations, as it really concerns who you use as Harry's parent. Example: if Nightcrawler is Harry's parent, Rogue would basically be his foster Aunt)

- Harry/Fleur

- Harry/Tonks

This story is a cross of HP and X Men the the movies (Obviously) and a touch of a Certain Magical Index/Scientific Railgun for Harrys powers.

Redirect and Break

Had anyone been out on the grounds of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry that night, they would have seen an extremely strange group making their way across the grounds. At the front, looking like entrants in a six-legged race, was a student, one Ronald Weasley, a teacher, Remus Lupin and a supposedly dead man, Peter Pettigrew, followed by an unconscious and floating poor excuse for a teacher, being held aloft by his own wand that was currently in the hands of a supposed convict who was walking beside the son of the people he supposedly betrayed and said boys best friend. Yes, a very odd group indeed.

Suddenly, the odd group came to a stop as Professor Lupin froze as the light of the Full Moon came out from behind a cloud. Snape collided with Lupin, Pettigrew, and Ron, as they came to an abrupt stop. Black froze, flinging out one arm to stop Harry and Hermione.

"Oh, my," gasped Hermione, "He didn't take his potion tonight! He's not safe!"

"Run," whispered Sirius, "Run. Now."

"Wait, Sirius, Rons still chained to him!" protested Harry.

"Leave it to me, RUN!" shouted Black as a terrible snarling noise filled the air.

Lupin's head was lengthening, as was his body as his shoulders hunched and hair began sprouting visibly on his face and hands, which were curling into clawed paws. The werewolf reared, snapping its long jaws, as Sirius disappeared from Harry's side, transforming into a large dog, before pouncing at the werewolf as it wrenched itself free of the manacle binding it, seizing it about the neck and pulled it backward, away from Ron and Pettigrew. Harry stood frozen, watching as his teacher and godfather fought one another with fangs and claws, before Hermione's scream attracted his attention back to Pettigrew as the rat dove for Lupins dropped wand.

"Expelliarmus." Harry yelled, pointing his own wand at Pettigrew.

Lupin's wand flew high into the air and out of sight.

"Stay where you are!" Harry shouted, running forward.

Too late, Pettigrew had already transformed. Harry saw his bald tail whip through the manacle on Ron's outstretched arm and heard a scurrying through the grass.

"Sirius, he's gone, Pettigrew transformed!" Harry yelled, turning back to the fighting canines, just in time to see Sirius being thrown into a rock by the Werewolf, before the Moonbound monster turned its attention to Harry.

The teen gulped and started backing away slowly as the Werewolf advanced on him, his eyes locked on the beasts dripping maw. Harry took another step back, only for his foot to catch a rock hidden in the grass and he fell. The Werewolf took no time acting on the opening and pounced. Harry threw up his hands in a desperate attempt to hold off the Werewolf, inwardly praying for something, anything to save him. Now, normally, this wish combined with Harrys heightened emotions, in this case, fear, would trigger a bout of accidental magic in even adult wizards, but Harry was slightly different from your average wizard. See, he had a power that came from another source than his magic. Harry Potter was a Mutant and right at this moment, when his emotions were at an alltime high, his mutation awakened.

The second the pouncing Werewolf came into contact with Harrys right hand, a high pitched sound filled the air for a moment as the Werewolf howled in agony. A second later, a flash of light filled the night and the Werewolf was blasted away from Harry. The teenaged wizard remained still for a second, before he sat up and looked over at where the Werewolf was thrashing around on the ground. As the boy watched, the beast's fur began to recede, as did its beastal features until all that was left was an unconscious Lupin.

"W-what the hell?" muttered Harry, looking down at his hand.

Upstate New York, Xavier's School for the Gifted

In a large, spherical room located deep below the surface, Professor Charles Xavier sat in his wheelchair, hooked up to Cerebro as he reached out, searching for Mutants coming into their powers or that were in danger. As he scanned Scotland, he became noticed a single mutant signature, a young man just coming into his powers. While normally the elderly Telepath would just make a note of the boys location and send someone to pick him up, something about the signature was off.

Curious, Xavier delved a little deeper into the young man's mind and was almost immediately assaulted by a feeling of immense despair and loneliness so intense that it actually made him flinch. Charles reached out with his mind and wrapped the boys mind in a feeling of comfort.

Scotland, Hogwarts Castle

Harry stared down at the unconscious form of Lupin, looking between the Werewolf and his right hand, wondering how in the world he had done that.

"H-harry, how did you do that?" asked Hermione, who was white as a sheet.

"I-I don't know," said the boy, "I just touched him and…"

He indicated to Lupin.

"He turned back."

"But that's impossible!" protested Hermione, "There's nothing that can turn a Werewolf back to human form on the full moon!"

Harry shook himself off and turned to Rons limp form.

"Lets discus this later," he said, "For now, we need to get some help."

Hermione nodded and got to her feet. Before the two teens could move though, the sound of a dogs yelping reached their ears.

"Sirius!" said Harry, turning towards the source, "Hes in trouble!"

Harry set off at a run, Hermione right behind him. The yelping seemed to be coming from the ground near the edge of the lake. As they pelted toward it, Harry felt the cold and realsied exactly what was approaching. The teen drove himself faster, intending to reach Sirius before the spectral monsters. Just then, the yelping stopped abruptly, making Harrys insides turn to ice at the implications. The two teens rounded a corps of trees and found themselves looking out over a small inlet in the lake. On the other side of the inlet was Sirius, now back in human form and crouched on all fours, his hands over his head.

"Nooo," he moaned, "Nooo… please…"

Then Harry saw them. Dementors, at least a hundred of them, gliding in a black mass around the lake toward them. He spun around, the familiar, icy cold penetrating his insides, fog starting to obscure his vision; more were appearing out of the darkness on every side; they were encircling them.

"Hermione, think of something happy!" Harry yelled, raising his wand, blinking furiously to try and clear his vision, shaking his head to rid it of the faint screaming that had started inside it as he desperately tried to conjure up the necessary memory for a Patronus

"Expecto patronum!" he yelled, only to get a small, useless cloud of fog, "Expecto patronum!"

Sirius gave a shudder, rolled over and lay motionless on the ground, pale as death.

Harry tried desperately to ignore it as he focused on the idea of leaving the Dursleys and living with Sirius.

"Expecto patronum!" he yelled, "Hermione, help me! Expecto patronum!"

"Expecto —" Hermione whispered, "expecto — expecto —"

But she couldn't do it, not with the Dementors were closing in. The monsters formed a solid wall around Harry and Hermione, and were getting closer.

"EXPECTO PATRONUM!" Harry yelled, trying to blot the screaming from his ears, "EXPECTO PATRONUM!"

A thin wisp of silver escaped his wand and hovered like mist before him. At the same moment, Harry felt Hermione collapse next to him. He was alone. completely alone.

"Expecto — expecto patronum —"

Harry felt his knees hit the cold grass. Fog was clouding his eyes. With a huge effort, he fought to remember. Sirius was innocent. We'll be okay. I'm going to live with him.

"Expecto patronum!" he gasped.

By the feeble light of his formless Patronus, he saw a Dementor halt, very close to him. It couldn't walk through the cloud of silver mist Harry had conjured. A dead, slimy hand slid out from under the cloak. It made a gesture as though to sweep the Patronus aside.

"No — no —" Harry gasped, "He's innocent… expecto expecto patronum —"

He could feet them watching him, hear their rattling breath like an evil wind around him. The nearest Dementor seemed to be considering him. Then it raised both its rotting hands — and lowered its hood. Where there should have been eyes, there was only thin, gray scabbed skin, stretched blankly over empty sockets. But there was a mouth, a gaping, shapeless hole, sucking the air with the sound of a death rattle. A paralyzing terror filled Harry so that he couldn't move or speak. His Patronus flickered and died. White fog was blinding him, before a pair of strong, clammy hands suddenly attached themselves around Harry's neck, forcing his face upward. Harry gasped and slowly raised his hands, trying feebly to pry the fingers off.

The instant his right hand touched the Dementors skin, the monster let out a horrifying wail and dropped him like Harry had just become a Patronus, recoiling away from him as it cradled its hand, the flesh where Harry had touched beginning disintegrate. The other Dementors swirled away from Harry, leaving him alone, but still under the effects of their aura and unable do anything as they moved on Sirius and Hermione instead. Harry shifted, his fingers blindly seeking his wand as he tried desperately to help his Godfather and best friend.

Then, a feeling of comfort settled over his mind, providing strength to him and driving back the Dementors aura. Harry latched onto the feeling, drawing strength from it as his vision cleared slightly. He saw his wand lying in the grass in front of him and grabbed it, summoning the happiest memory he could.

"EXPECTO PATRONUM!"

A brilliant silver light erupted from Harrys wand, even as a second light appeared from the far side of the lake and drove the Dementors back. Casting the spell had taken the last of Harrys strength and the boy tipped forwards, landing face first on the ground. With the last of his strength, Harry turned his head to look at the opposite bank where the other Patronus had originated from and saw a familiar looking figure stood their. Before he could get a good look however, he passed out.

Xavier's Institute

Charles let out a breath as he felt the mind of the boy slip into unconsciousness, before slipping off Cerebros helmet and putting it back on the console.

"Well, that was interesting," muttered the aging Mutant.

He turned his Wheelchair and made his way out of Cerebros chamber, deep in thought over what to do about this new Mutant. The boy was clearly powerful, with Gifts that had yet to show themselves, which made it vitally important that they find the boy before certain other partys could, most notably Eric. That would have to wait for a while though, at least until he arrive home from his Boarding School. He would be alright for now.

And thats where I'm going to end it. This is a story Idea I'd like to continue and probably will depending on the reception from you lot. A big chunk in the middle its taken directly from Prisoner of Azkaban. If your interested, Harrys powers are as follows:

Imagine Breaker: This power is based on Kamijou Touma's from A Certain Magical Index and does pretty much the same thing. For those who don't know, Harry can negate any ability that touches his right hand, whether that comes from magic, Mutant powers or any other source. This only affects active abilities, so it won't remove Beasts mutation or Wolverine's Healing Factor, although it can negate things like mind control, transformations (whether thats Polyjuice, Mystique transformations or magical in nature, like a Metamorphmagi or an Animagi, including Lycanthropy, as shown in the story) and even mind wipes.

Accelerator: Again taken from A Certain Magical Index, this power has both a passive and active form. If your interested, go look it up on the wiki as this is way too complicated to explain here.

Harrys parent in this story will be Psylocke, although I may have to play around a bit with her history and the like to make it work, so don't expect her to be like in the comics.

Anyway, time for me to sign off I guess, so please leave me a review!
