Harry of the Little Garden

"Are you sure this is the right thing to do?" a beautiful red-headed woman asked her husband as she looked down at the one year old boy in her arms.

"Yes, it is Lily," said the man beside her, "Dumbledore said that this was the best option. Otherwise he could get jealous of Alice and fall to the Dark."

"I know James," said Lily, "But I'm not comfortable about leaving him with my sister."

"Don't worry about it Lily," said James, "What's the worst that could happen?"

The dark haired man took the sleeping boy from his wife's arms and laid him on the doorstep, casting a warming charm over him and placing a letter in his blankets. That done, the Potters walked away, leaving their oldest child behind without a single backward glance.

"What a pair of idiots," said a voice as a figure hopped off the top of one of the streetlamps and approached the basket.

He was a tall man with pale skin, red eyes and pure white hair. He was wearing a pair of dress shoes, smart black trousers and a dress shirt under a red waistcoat, from the pocket of which emerged a golden pocket watch chain. From the top of his head emerged a pair of long, rabbit like ears.

"You'd think Wizards would know better than to tempt Murphy," muttered the man as he picked up the child, "Now, what should White Rabbit do with you? I can't leave you here and I get the distinct impression that if I try to take you to the Authority's you'll end up back here one way or another. Hmm...Oh!"

He snapped his fingers and smiled.

"I know, I'll take you with me!" he said, "You'll make an excellent addition to the Community and, who knows, maybe Shiro-chan will finally get of my tail! What do you think of that idea?"

Little Harry opened his eyes and gazed up at the rabbit eared man, before giggling and waving his little arms towards said ears.

"Alright, its settled," said White Rabbit, "Don't worry little one, White Rabbit will take care of you."

White Rabbit turned on his heel and walked to the end of the street where a heart shaped door was floating in mid air.

On the other side of the door, White Rabbit stepped out into a large courtyard where a dark skinned man stood before a gate on the other side of the area, clad in golden armour with a huge, two handed sword planted in the ground in front of him stood guard. The man was massive, easily twice as tall as White Rabbit and, as the Moon Rabbit was far from short himself, that meant that he towered above many people.

"So, you have returned," rumbled the giant, "I trust that your trip was successful?"

"Naturally, I found us a new recruit," said White Rabbit, indicating to the baby in his arms.

"A child? Please tell me you didn't kidnap him?"

"Come now Heimdall, you know White Rabbit better than that, don't you?" asked White Rabbit, pouting slightly.

Heimdall gave him a look and the Moon Rabbit deflated.

"Fine, he was abandoned by his parents on a doorstep in the middle of the night," said White Rabbit, "I didn't kidnap him from his room or anything like that."

The Gatekeeper sighed, before shrugging and waving the Moon Rabbit through. The white haired bunny nodded to the giant and hurried past him before he could change his mind. On the other side of the gate was a huge, bustling city with a distinctly eastern theme and a large number of canals. The waterways were lined with trees that almost resembled cherry blossom trees, but the bark the same shade of pink as the petals. The Rabbit made his way along the street towards a shop bearing the symbol of the Thousand Eyes, two deer on either side of a vertical sword on a purple background.

White Rabbit slid the door to the shop open, before taking a step to the side, avoiding being tackled by a golden eyed little girl with elf-like ears.

"Morning Shiroyasha, long time no see," said White Rabbit as the girl picked herself up.

"What kind of a man dodges a beautiful girl throwing herself at him?" demanded Shiroyasha, dusting herself off.

The girl had messy, shoulder length, white hair with a ponytail that trailed to her mid back and two small pigtails. Two small black horns emerged from under her white locks which, along with her fangs, marked her as one of the many inhuman creatures that inhabited the Little Garden.

She was wearing a black, lolita type kimono-like dress, patterned with light blue strikes with white polka dots at the ends and white fabric at the ends of the sleeves and skirt. Around her waist was a light pink brand with a demon face medallion attached. Hanging from the back of the dress was a length of blue fabric with the Thousand Eyes symbol on it.

"The kind with a precious burden," said White Rabbit, "That and you look like a kid."

Shiroyasha pouted slightly at the jab at her appearance, before looking at the bundle in White Rabbits arms.

"So, what have you got their?" she asked as the two entered the shop.

"I child I found on a doorstep in the middle of the night in a Human World," said White Rabbit, "I wasn't about to leave him their."

"Why didn't you take him to the Authorities?" asked Shiroyasha as the two old friends sat in the Floormasters meeting room.

"I would have, but something told me that if I did then he'd find his way back to the house I found him at eventually," answered White Rabbit, looking down at the bundle where the child still slept.

"So, you're going to take him in?" asked Shiroyasha.

"Yep."

"Do you know anything about raising a child?"

White Rabbit opened his mouth, only to shut it again a second later.

"Thats what I thought," said Shiroyasha with a sigh, "Guess we need to find someone who knows what their doing."

White Rabbit chuckled and rubbed the back of his head in embarrassment.

And I think I'm going to end this one here. Its short I know, but thats all I really have. White Rabbit is obviously based on the White Rabbit from Alice in Wonderland. Please leave a review!
