Sara checked in on the baby one more time to assure herself that their daughter was asleep and then followed her wife outside, the baby monitor right in front of them. "We're not going to be out here long - Celestia will be fine for ten minutes," Ava assured her. One of them had to be rational and it was her turn this time.

"You don't know that, Ava, but nice try." Sara pouted at her and Ava laughed at her.

They laid down on the blanket and stared up at the sky, watching the stars. "Isn't it beautiful?" an awed Ava asked.

Sara briefly glanced over at her. "Absolutely," she murmured. She shifted a bit before gazing back up at the stars. "You think Celestia's okay?'

Ava checked the baby monitor. "She's fine - still sleeping. God, we made a cute kid." She was still in awe of their little girl four months in.

"Hell yeah we did!" Sara laughed. She wrapped an arm around her wife. Celestia was a perfect mix of the two of them already, and they'd love to bring her out here with them once she was old enough. Right now, they just desperately needed her to sleep through the night.

"Can't wait to get back on the Waverider in the morning." They were spending the weekend at home since everything had cooled down for a bit - they were thankful for that, especially since they were brand new to motherhood.

"Same here, Ava." They looked at each other and exchanged a quick kiss just as the baby monitor crackled to life, Celestia alerting them she needed attention.

They ran back inside and Celestia calmed down immediately once Sara picked her up.

It was the three of them against the universe now, and they thrived on the chaos.
