Hello, and welcome back to the Vault for an answer to Whitetigerwolfs Mutants son challenge, rules below:
MUTANT'S SON CHALLENGE
I've seen a lot of X-Men Crossovers (in movies and comics) in which Harry is actually the son of Jean, Scott, Storm, Wolverine, and various combinations thereof. Well I wondered, what if he was Charles son? or one of the other X-Men? Or even Mystiques (I've seen one or two where he was raised by her, but none where he was actually her son)?
Requirements:
- Harry must be the child of one of the following: Professor X, Mystique, Colossus, Rogue, Shadowcat, Nightcrawler, Domino, Beast, Psylocke, Juggernaut, Lady Deathstrike, Wolfsbane, or Marrow (These are my ten favorite X-Men Characters plus Professor X and two of my favorite Villains, besides Mystique, because Mystique was the only Villain in the list). If you'd like to do a different character, PM me or Post. As long as it's not a character I don't like or that I think is overused (the only one I can think of that I didn't list in my intro was Magneto), I'll likely say yes, but I'd prefer one of the ones I listed.
- Harry's parent either cannot know about their Harry or had left him to be adopted by the Potters in an effort to protect him
- Harry cannot be paired with another boy, if you make him FemHarry, then you can pair her with either a boy or girl, but male Harry can only be paired with a woman.
- Harry cannot have more than three abilities (There are exceptions, if you ask. For example: I consider enhanced senses, one power, and not a separate power for each of the five senses you want to enhance. If you think your powers need exception, as long as they aren't all super attack powers that will turn Harry into a god-like entity, I will probably accept them.), and he cannot absorb other mutants powers. (remember, he has magic, which will make him powerful already) Molecular Manipulation
- Harry's powers CANNOT manifest until his third year, at the earliest.
- Harry's parent, whether they knew about him or not, must care for him (in their own way if necessary)
- Harry CANNOT be tutored in magic by Stephen Strange or Agatha Harkness.
- The wizard world must either not know or care about mutants, as they are "a muggle problem"
- Harry MUST be the only mutant at Hogwarts, if he is one at all. (Magic itself could be considered a mutation after-all)
Recommended:
- Harry being the result of a drunken one-night stand between the mutant in question and Lily Maybe
- FemHarry No
- Harry having abilities similar to, if not exactly like, his parent sort of
- Harry paired with a mutant (I'm going to list my full recommendations, as it really concerns who you use as Harry's parent. Example: if Nightcrawler is Harry's parent, Rogue would basically be his foster Aunt) Not sure about the pairing yet
- Harry/Fleur
- Harry/Tonks
This story is a cross of HP and X Men the movies (Obviously) and a touch of a Darker than BLACK for Harrys powers, as well as some of the characters who will be appearing. I do love me some DoB! Just a heads up, I don't know much about the comic Universe, so I'm taking most of what I know from the Movies and changing some things around, so no complains that I'm taking artistic license with some characters, their histories and jobs etc.
White Star Lumination
The night air was filled with the sounds of children's laughter as they ran from house to house, getting enough sweets to have them running up the walls for a week, oblivious to the horrific events currently taking place within the Invisible house on their street. Said house was the residence and hiding place of the Potters, a family of Magic Users from a hidden world currently engaged in a civil war against a bunch of racist, inbred morons. The Potters had gone into hiding after a prophecy was made regarding their youngest son, placing their house under some of the strongest protections available to Wizardkind. Unfortunately, they placed their faith in the wrong people, leading the the current events.
"Lily, its him!" yelled James Potter as the door was blown of its hinges by a cloaked man, "Take Harry and run!"
The Potter lord planted himself firmly between the staircase and the Dark Lord, determined to protect his beloved wife and son until the end. Unfortunately, he didn't have his wand, having left it on the couch, and quickly fell. The cloaked psychopath stepped over the corpse and ascended the stairs, contemptuously blasting the door open despite the makeshift barricade Lily had created.
Voldemort entered the room to find Lily stood between him and his target, who was lying innocently in his crib.
"Stand aside girl," he hissed, "All I want is the child. Their is no reason for you to die as well."
However, the young mother refused to move, her emerald eyes filled with defiance.
Voldemort sighed.
"Very well," he said, "Sectumsempra."
The Dark cutting spell hit Lily in the abdomen, slicing her open and sending her blood splattering all over the room. Voldemort ignored the bleeding woman and approached the crib where little Harry stood, gazing up at him through large, innocent eyes.
"This is the one destined to kill me?" sneered Voldemort, "A mere half-blood brat? Well, no matter, only I may live forever!"
He raised his wand, the tip glowing green. However, before he could cast the deadly spell, he paused as the baby in the crib began to glow with an odd blue light and electricity began to spark between his chubby fingers. Voldemort blinked in confusion, before the child touched the wet blood that stained the bars of his crib. Their was a spark and Voldemort was suddenly struck with a massive electrical charge, conducted through the blood and into Voldemort's bare feet. Voldemort screamed in agony as his body, rendered fragile from the many Dark Rituals performed on it, began to break down until all that was left was a pile of ash and a still screaming disembodied Soul that quickly vacated the premises.
A few hours later, after little Harry had been taken by the Half-Giant Hagrid, a group of armed Muggles, non-magicals, arrived and began to sweep the area, zipping the dead body of James into a bodybag and taking various readings, especially from the pile of ashes that had been Voldemort.
"Oh for the love of god, why can't these idiot Wizards keep us up to date?" grumbled the leader, an attractive, dark haired woman.
"Because that would be the smart thing to do," replied her partner, a tall, blond man with icy blue eyes wearing a white suit.
The woman grumbled something under her breath about annoying wizards, before one of her subordinates shouted down from upstairs.
"Hey, we got a live one up here!"
The two high ranking agents glanced at one another, before sprinting upstairs and into the nursery where a medic was treating an unconscious redheaded woman with a large gash in her chest.
"Havoc," whispered the man, "So this is where she disappeared ot ."
"You know her November 11?" asked his partner.
"She's a former member of Pandora," said November 11, kneeling down next to Lily's body, "She handed in her resignation a couple of months ago and then dropped of the map. Looks like she got in over her head. How is she?"
The question was directed at the medic.
"She's lost a lot of blood, but I think she'll be alright" said the medic, "The cut was quite deep, but not as bad as it could have been."
"How so?" asked November 11.
In answer the medic held up a cracked locket.
"This saved her life," said the medic, "I have no idea what its made of, but it blocked the spell from penetrating to deeply."
November 11 took the locket and opened it, revealing a picture of a much younger Lily in the arms of a young man with light brown hair.
"Sir, we should get her to hospital," said the Medic.
"Right, get going then," said November 11, snapping the locket shut and slipping it into his pocket, "I want to be informed when she wakes up."
"Yes sir."
The medic lifted the unconscious woman onto a gurney and quickly wheeled her out of the room.
"Captain Braddock, we've finished gathering data," said one of the agents.
"Good, pull out," said Braddock, "Lets go November 11."
The man nodded and moved to follow, only to pause at the door and glance back at the bloodstained crib.
"I wonder what happened to the little tyke?" he muttered, "And why do I get the feeling this is only the beginning?"
14 years later, the Ministry, after Sirius' Death
Harry chased after Bellatrix as she ran through the Ministry with one thing on his mind: get revenge for the death of his last remaining family. He forced his way out of the lift before the grilles were fully open and looked around. Bellatrix was almost at the telephone lift at the other end of the hall, but she looked back as he sprinted towards her and aimed another spell at him. He dodged behind the Fountain of Magical Brethren: the spell zoomed past him and hit the wrought gold gates at the other end of the Atrium so that they rang like bells. There were no more footsteps. She had stopped running. He crouched behind the statues, listening.
"Come out, come out, little Harry!" she called in her mock baby voice, which echoed off the polished wooden floors, "What did you come after me for, then? I thought you were here to avenge my dear cousin!"
"I am!" shouted Harry, and a score of ghostly Harrys seemed to chorus I am! I am! I am! all around the room.
"Aaaaaah… did you love him, little baby Potter?"
Hatred rose in Harry such as he had never known before; he flung himself out from behind the fountain and bellowed, "Crucio!"
Bellatrix screamed: the spell had knocked her off her feet, but she did not writhe and shriek with pain as Neville had - she was already back on her feet, breathless, no longer laughing. Harry dodged behind the golden fountain again. Her counter-spell hit the head of the handsome wizard, which was blown off and landed twenty feet away, gouging long scratches into the wooden floor.
"Never used an Unforgivable Curse before, have you, boy?" she yelled, abandoning her baby voice, "You need to mean them, Potter! You need to really want to cause pain - to enjoy it - righteous anger won't hurt me for long - I'll show you how it is done, shall I? I'll give you a lesson -"
Harry was edging around the fountain on the other side when she screamed, "Crucio!"
He was forced to duck down again as the centaur's arm, holding its bow, span off and landed with a crash on the floor a short distance from the golden wizard's head as water sprayed from the damaged fountain, soaking the floor.
"Potter, you cannot win against me!" she cried.
The two Magicals continued to exchange taunts and spell fire, slowly destroying the fountain, making the floor wetter as the water from the broken pipes sprayed everywhere.
"Potter, I'm going to give you one chance!" shouted Bellatrix, "Give me the prophecy - roll it out towards me now - and I may spare your life!"
"Well, you're going to have to kill me, because it's gone!" Harry roared as he looked around desperately for an advantage.
Unfortunately, there wasn't really anything he could use, other than the wet floor, but Harry didn't think a Glacius Charm would work on an experienced Witch like Bellatrix so that was useless. Or was it?
Harry paused as he gazed down at the reflective floor, thinking back over his adventures and how he had occasionally tapped into a strange power that was like no magic he had ever used, like the time he had electrocuted Quirriel to death with his touch, or when he had been attacked by Grindylows during the Second Task last year and he had fryed them. He had always passed off the events as Accidental Magic, but there had always been that nagging sense that the power hadn't come from his magic.
Harry peeked out of his hiding place and saw that Bellatrix was stood in the large puddle of water, looking around desperately for him.
"Worth a try," he muttered, before putting his hand in the water and desperately trying to recall the feeling of the strange power.
Then, like a dam breaking, a surge of energy raced through his body and a faint blue glow covered his body. There was a loud zapping sound and Bellatrix was struck by a huge surge of electricity, making her scream in agony as she was cooked from the inside out, before falling to the ground, steaming lightly and stone dead.
Harry slowly got to his feet and moved around the fountain, his eyes fixed on the steaming body. He felt numb, unable to really be believe that he had just killed taken a life, even one as evil as Bellatrix. Sure he had wanted her to suffer for killing Sirius, but he never meant to kill her. Harry was so distracted by the notion of taking a life, that he completely missed the arrival of Voldemort who, upon seeing the corpse of his most loyal follower and his hated enemy, sent a killing curse at the unresponsive Harry. Fortunately for the green eyed teen, the headless Wizard from the Fountain suddenly sprang to life and tackled him out of the way, also serving to break the teen out of his mental breakdown.
"What -?" cried Voldemort, staring around, before his eyes fell on the old man standing by the lifts, "Dumbledore!"
Harry looked around his metallic guardian, his heart pounding and saw that Dumbledore had arrived. Voldemort raised his wand and another jet of green light streaked at Dumbledore, who turned and was gone in a whirling of his cloak. The duel that followed was nothing short of incredible and clearly illustrated that, despite his great age, Dumbledore was still more than capable of holding his own in a fight.
"It was foolish to come here tonight, Tom," said Dumbledore calmly during a lull in the fighting, "The Aurors are on their way"
"By which time I shall be gone, and you will be dead!" spat Voldemort as he sent another killing curse at Dumbledore but missed, instead hitting the security guard's desk, which burst into flame.
Dumbledore flicked his own wand, creating a force so great that Harry, though shielded by his golden guard, felt his hair stand on end as it passed and this time Voldemort was forced to conjure a shining silver shield out of thin air to deflect it. The spell, whatever it was, caused no visible damage to the shield, though a deep, gong-like note reverberated from it - an oddly chilling sound.
"You do not seek to kill me, Dumbledore?" called Voldemort, his scarlet eyes narrowed over the top of the shield. "Above such brutality, are you?"
"We both know that there are other ways of destroying a man, Tom," Dumbledore said calmly, continuing to walk towards Voldemort as though he had not a fear in the world, as though nothing had happened to interrupt his stroll up the hall, "Merely taking your life would not satisfy me, I admit"
"There is nothing worse than death, Dumbledore!" snarled Voldemort.
"Are you sure about that?" asked a voice from the direction of the entrance of the Ministry, before the water Voldemort was standing in suddenly froze solid, trapping the Dark Lord in place.
"WHAT IS THIS?!" roared Voldemort as he struggled to free himself, only to find the ice creeping up his body as he struggled, "WHO DARES ATTACK LORD VOLDEMORT?!"
"That would be me," said a blond man in a white suet as he approached, "November 11, here on behalf of Her Majesty's Supernatural Response Deviation, Pandora. And you, Tom Riddle, are under arrest for mass murder, terrorism and treason against the Crown."
As November 11 spoke, people in black combat gear armed with assault rifles began to pore into the Ministry, vanishing into the lifts. At the sight of the Muggle weapons, Voldemort scoffed.
"You think you scare me, Muggle?" he sneered, "Your pathetic kind have no power of Lord Voldemort!"
He raised his wand, only for the air around his wand arm to distort in a sphere, before a sucking sound filled the atrium and Voldemorts arm was torn in half, wand included. The Dark Lord screamed, falling to his knees and cradling the stump of his arm as a woman stepped out of the grate, her arm extended and a look of hatred on her face.
"Give me a reason, Tom, I dare you!" she snarled, "I have 15 years of anger to work out on you!"
At the sight of the woman, Voldemorts eyes widened in shock and horror, as did Dumbledore's, while Harry just stared in shock and disbelief. The woman in question was wearing combat gear, consisting of black trousers and shirt with a kevlar lined jacket and a utility belt and had shoulder length, messy, bloody red hair, pale skin and emerald green eyes that were flashing with rage and hatred.
"N-no, thats impossible," stuttered Voldemort, "You're dead! I killed you!"
Harry pushed the golden statue aside and began to move towards the woman, his eyes filling with tears, before breaking into a run.
"Mom!"
AND CUT! I know, I know thats really horrible, but you could probably tell that I was going to have Lily still alive after they saved her at the start of the chapter. Now, before I sign off, a few things.
First of, any Contractors from DoB that make an appearance are Mutants in this world, not Contractors, although they do still have the same, or similar, powers to what they have in DoB. Lilys actually based of Havoc from DoB and has the same powers (That being Vacuum creation for those who don't know). Oh, and November 11's in this cus I think hes awesome.
As mentioned at the top, I don't really know that much about the comic verse, so I created an organization to monitor the supernatural and mutant aspects of the British Isles, in this case Pandora. I'm also using the idea that the Ministry can only operate with permission of the Crown and they've pushed their luck just a little too far, hence Pandora being sent in to put things right.
With regards to Harrys Powers, as of right now hes only got one since its pretty strong. His power is the same as Hei and Bai from Darker than BLACK, hence the additional crossover. For those who don't know, this is the powers description, taken from the Wiki:
She possesses the ability to generate and discharge electricity through conductive media (i.e. she cannot discharge it through air or concrete) at sufficiently high amounts to kill grown men. The power is more than simple electric shocks; she can alter matter(particularly electrons, which is the source of electricity) on the quantum level. She is capable of special particle luminance, meaning she can change molecules similar to how humans are changed into contractors. This ability is also one of the more, if not most, powerful and coveted powers known as it is the only one capable of altering gate particles at will.
Obviously it needs changing slightly to make it more Mutant than Contractor, but the principles of the power remain the same. In other words, Harry will eventually gain the ability to turn a normal human into a Mutant or vise versa by messing with their molecular structure. That however is a very long way off and likely won't have much bearing on the story, should I decide to continue with it.
The Mutant I have in mind for Harry's dad is Havok, mostly for irony's sake, but there's no guarantee I'll actually use him if I continue with this story
