A Moment's Desperation
Dean Winchester stared down at the still form of his little brother where he lay on the bed, unable to really absorb the fact that Sam was dead.
"You know when we were kids," said Dean, "You couldn't have been more than five. You just started asking questions. How come we didn't have a mom? How come we always have to move around? Where did Dad go when he took off for days at a time? I remember I begged you to quit asking Sammy. I just wanted you to be a kid for just a little longer. I was trying to protect you, keep you safe. Hell, Dad didn't even have to tell me, you were just my responsibility. I had one job, just one and I screwed it up! I blew it, and for that I'm sorry."
Dean paused to wipe away the tears that were falling.
"I guess thats what I do," he continued as the tears continued to flow, not noticing the slight glow that came from the bag at his feet, "I let down the people I love. I let Dad down and now I guess I'm just supposed to let you down to. How am I supposed to live with that? What am I supposed to do Sammy? What am I supposed to do? I wish...I wish I could bring you back."
As if the magic words were spoken, the slight glow emerging from Deans bag suddenly intensified, blinding Dean with a brilliant green light as something shot from the bag to float in the air. The Hunter cursed and pulled his gun as the light dimmed slightly, allowing Dean to see the large magic circle in the middle of the room, before it flashed and vanished, leaving a teenaged boy with mint green hair, ice blue eyes, clad in a pair of jeans, a t-shirt with a coiled dragon on the front and a black leather jacket.
"Well, this is unexpected," said the teen, "I wasn't expecting to be summoned by the Winchesters of all people."
"Who the hell are you?" asked Dean, more than a little surprised at the teens sudden apperence.
"I am Eren Astaroth," said the teen with a grin, "And I have come to grant your wish."
"Astaroth?" asked Dean, "You mean you're a Demon?"
Erens eye twitched and his smile became a little fixed.
"No, I am not a Demon, I'm a Devil," he said, "And yes, there is a difference."
"What do you want?" demanded Dean.
"Actually the better question would be, what do you want?" said Eren, "You were the one who summoned me after all. So tell me Dean Winchester, what do you want?"
Dean hesitated for a moment, unsure of what to do. On one hand, his long held instincts demanded that he exorcise the being before him, on the other he was planning on going and selling his soul to bring Sam back. This would just save him the trip. Eventually the desire to save his brother won out.
"I want you to bring Sam back," he said.
Eren raised an eyebrow and glanced at Sams body.
"Are you sure?" he asked, "Because the cost will be great."
"I'll give you my soul if you bring him back," said Dean.
"That won't be necessary," said Eren, "Give me a moment."
He pulled out a phone and tapped the screen, making Dean frown.
"What are you doing?" he asked.
"What, you didn't think we were still stuck in the middle ages did you?" asked Eren, looking at Dean, "Thats the Wand Wavers, not us."
The phone beeped and Eren frowned.
"Ah, that can't be right," he muttered, "Hang on a sec."
He inputted the details of Deans wish again, only to get the same result. The young Devil let out a sigh, before looking at Dean.
"Well, you might prefer to go see a Crossroads Demon after this," he said, "The price for me bringing your brother back is for you to become a Devil and join my Household."
"What's that supposed to mean?" demanded Dean, hand moving to the gun under his shirt.
"Exactly that," said Eren, "Devils have the ability to reincarnate Humans as Devils to act as Servants. If you want me to bring your Brother back, you will have to give up your Humanity."
Dean gaped at the green haired Devil, unable to believe what he was hearing. He had been willing to sacrifice his Soul for Sam, but this almost seemed worse. The idea of being one of the creatures he had hunted for so long was one he couldn't even begin to fathom. Still, would it really be that different? The end result would be the same, him leaving Sam. At least this way he'd still be around, even if he was a monster.
"Can you give me some time with my Brother?" asked the Hunter.
"What do you mean?" asked Eren, "I never said you had to leave him."
"But…"
"Devils aren't innately Evil, just manipulative and more inclined to Darkness and vice," continued Eren, "Infact, we often work to eliminate some of the more powerful nasties to keep them from killing Humans. If you do take the offer, you won't have to stop Hunting, in fact you'll gain a whole new arsenal of weapons against the monsters you hunt, although you won't be able to use prayer or holy artifacts any more. God doesn't like us very much and tends to take offence when we call for help."
"But you said I'd be your Servant," said Dean, "Doesn't that mean you'll need me with you?"
"Devils can teleport," said Eren dismissively, "Besides, I've got other Servants and the only things I'll need you to do is answer any calls I send out, hand out a few Summoning flyers and deal with the occasional Stray. At least until I mature, after which I'll occasionally need you for a Rating Game. Other than that, you can do as you please."
Dean was silent for a moment as he thought about the offer. This was...surprisingly reasonable all things considered. He was expecting to have to die in order for his Brother to live, but now he had the chance to live and still continue to kill the evil things in the world, even if he would actually be one of them. All in all, the choice was obvious.
"I'll do it," he said, "I'll become your Servant."
"Excellent!" said Eren with a pure white smile, "In that case, catch."
He reached into his pocket and threw something to Dean, who instinctively caught it. The object with a blood red chess piece, a pawn to be precise, made of some kind of glass that glowed with an inner light. As soon as the piece touched Deans skin, its glow brightened and it disappeared into his body, making it momentary glow and burn for a second, before both died down.
"Thats is?" asked Dean.
"The changes will happen gradually to prevent your body from being torn apart," said Eren, "Now, to hold up my end of the bargain."
He reached into his pocket again and pulled out another piece, another Pawn identical to the one he'd given Dean.
"Whoa, what are you doing?" asked Dean as the Devil approached Sams body.
"You wanted me to bring him back right?" asked Eren with a grin, "Well he will be. Your Brother will be reborn into the Underworld, just like you."
The Devil snapped his fingers and a green magic circle appeared under Sams body, before he placed the piece over the dead Winchesters breastbone and spread his arms.
"Wait, this wasn't part of the deal!" protested Dean, reaching for the green haired Devil, only to be reflected of an invisible wall, "You said you'd bring Sam back!"
"And I will," said Eren, "Now, In the name of Eren Astaroth, I call to Sam Winchester, hear my command! Return Thy Soul from the Shadows of Death to the Human Realm, rise once more as my Devil Servant! Rejoice, for you have been given new life! Wake as my Foot Soldier and lead a good life as my Pawn!"
As the green haired Devil chanted, the glow of the Circle increased until it was near blinding, before the Pawn sank into Sams body and the Circle vanished. Eren took a breath, before Dean charged forwards and grabbed the smaller man by the collar.
"What the fuck did you just do?!" he demanded, pressing his gun against Erens chin.
"I held up my end of the bargain," said Eren, apparently not caring about the weapons close proximity to his face, "Isn't that what you wanted? Your Brother, alive?"
"But you made him a Devil!" snarled Dean, "And don't pretend otherwise! Why did you do that?!"
"Because it was the easiest and quickest way to fulfil your wish," replied Eren, "Besides, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to add two individuals like you to my Peerage. Both of you have huge reserves of power and Sam has something rather unique sleeping within him."
"You tricked me," whispered Dean, "You knew I couldn't pass up the chance to save him."
"Dean, I'm a Devil. Manipulation and trickery are in my blood. I may not be evil, but that won't stop me from pulling some pretty underhand moves to get what I want. Besides, I did bring your Brother back and made you both even stronger than ever before. Now, are you going to shoot me or not?"
Dean staggered back a few steps and fell into the chair he'd been sat on before, the gun falling from his fingers.
"Oh don't look so glum chum," said Eren, straightening his collar, "Its not the end of the world."
Dean looked like he was about to protest, but was interrupted by Sam stirring on the bed. Dean rushed to his brothers side as the younger Winchester slowly sat up, blinking blearily.
"Sam, are you alright?" asked Dean, concern clear in his tone.
"Yeah, I think so," said Sam, before his gaze fell on Eren, "Who's that?"
Dean glanced back at the green haired teen, before looking back at his brother.
"Well, hes…"
"Eren Astaroth, at your service," interrupted Eren, "Its a pleasure to finally make your acquaintance Sam, you and your Brother are quite famous amongst the Supernatural World."
Sam raised an eyebrow at the teen.
"Whats that supposed to mean?" he asked.
Eren opened his mouth to respond, but was interrupted by his phone going off.
"Ah, excuse me, I need to take this," he said, ducking out of the room.
"Dean, who was that?" asked Sam after the teen had vanished out the door, "Isn't Astaroth a Demons name."
The recently revived Winchester suddenly pailed and looked at Dean.
"Dean, what did you do?" he asked.
Dean looked uncomfortable and didn't answer.
"Dean, I know what happened," pressed Sam, "I know Jake stabbed me. Theres no way I could have survived that wound so what. Did. You. Do?"
"Sam, calm down!" said Dean.
"Dean, answer the question!"
At Sams shout, a chair in the corner of the room suddenly shot across the room and shattered against the wall. The two Winchesters stared at the chair for a moment.
"What was that?" asked Dean.
Sam shook his head, equally baffled.
"The Reincarnation can sometimes amplify any powers you had while you were human," said Eren as he reentered the room, slipping his phone back into his pocket, "I wouldn't be at all surprised if it amplified Sams Psionic abilities and gave him a few new ones for good measure."
"What Reincarnation?" asked Sam.
Eren looked at the Winchester boys with a grin as two pairs of bat-like wings sprouted from his back.
"You know, I really should introduce myself properly," he said, "I'm Eren Astaroth, son of the Devil King Ajuka Beelzebub. I am an Ultimate Class Devil and, as of today, your master. Its nice to meet you, Sam and Dean Winchester."
And thats where I'll end this chapter. I hope you all liked it! Before I sign off, a few points.
Angels and Devils/Demons. The Supernatural versions are completely different to the DXD ones, as if that wasn't obvious enough. For this story, the Supernatural versions are two species of interdimensional parasites that are locked in eternal conflict with the various versions of Earth as their battleground. It just so happens that this version has Angels and Devils of their own who really don't take to kindly to the intruders, hence Erens dislike of being called a Demon. As for where Souls go, I'll think of that should I decide to continue this.
Power levels. Both sets have completely different skill sets cus I don't think that the DXD crew can fuck with time like the Supernatural band. That being said, in a straight up fight against someone of a similar level it would come down to skill rather than power. However, Sirzechs and Ajuka still have the distinction of being among the strongest in the world, so they could probably steamroll their counterparts.
I'm probably over complicating this whole thing, so just assume that I'm going more with the DXD world as a base and estimating things from the Supernatural side of things from there.
If your wondering why Eren goes by Astaroth rather than Beelzebub, its for the same reason that Millicas goes by Gremory rather than Lucifer. Beelzebub is a title, thus he goes by Ajukas old family name.
I think thats everything, so I'm going to sign off here and let you leave me some reviews.
