Dis Lexics vault of Secrets
Ideas, plot bunnys that won't let go, possible future stories. feel free to pick up the stories if you like them.
This idea has nothing to do with Harry Potter. Instead, its a crossover of Mass Effect and Sunrider, although the latter will be pretty peripheral to begin with. The main character is an OC who will likely be OP since he's from the Ancient Ryuven Empire who had technology so advanced it bordered on magic. In the game, the Seraphim is one of the most deadly Ryders available and its a SCOUT mecha that has gone without proper maintenance for 10000 years! Anyway, time to get started. Enjoy!

Unknown System, The Normandy
"Commander, I'm picking up some unusual readings."
Commander Ruby Shepard looked up from the report she was writing for the Council regarding their mission to Therum to retrieve Dr Liara T'soni before their target, the rogue Spectre Saren could acquire her knowledge of the Protheans to help him find the Conduit, whatever that was.
"What is it Joker?" she asked.
"I'm not sure," said the pilot, "The computer doesn't recognize them. All it says is that their is a huge energy reading coming from the nearby asteroid belt. Should we take a look?"
Shepard thought for a moment. While it was true that her mission to stop Saren was top priority, that hadn't stopped her from stopping to scan practically every large object they had come across since starting the odyssey so what was one more? Besides, they could find something useful.
"Take us in Joker, lets see what we've stumbled across," said the First Human Spectre, getting to her feet.
"Yes ma'am," said the pilot.
Shepard left her quarters and made her way down to the CIC and up to the bridge where the bearded and sarcastic pilot, Flight Lieutenant Jeff "Joker" Moreau was guiding the Normandy through the asteroid belt with the grace of a dancer towards the anomaly.
"Hey Commander," said the Flight Lieutenant in greeting, "Your just in time. We should have visual right about... What the hell is that?!"
Jokers question was most definitely a good one as the Normandy broke free of the Belt and came upon the source of the energy. It was huge, nearly two kilometers in length and clearly a ship of some kind, although who would have the capabilities to build such a massive was anyones guess. It didn't help that it didn't match any known designs it looked like a massive sword, with a large, glowing orb at one end, held between four claws. Around half way down the shaft, the metal was shattered and twisted, indicating that something had broken off. The huge ship was surrounded by the shattered remains of hundreds of ships and even a few smaller hulks that looked like mechas of some kind.
"Commander, we have an incoming transmission," said Joker as the beeping of his consol drew the pilot from his shocked stupor.
"Patch it through," said Shepard, not taking her eyes of the derelict.
"INTRUDERS, IDENTIFY YOURSELVES IN THE NAME OF THE HOLY RYUVIAN EMPIRE."
Shepard leaned forwards and pressed the button to respond.
"This is Commander Shepard of the Normandy," said Shepard, "I am a Spectre of the Citadel Council. Do you require assistance?"
Their was silence for a moment, before the voice responded.
"INTRUDERS IDENTIFIED AS NON-RYUVIAN TARGETS. ENGAGING DEFENCIVE MEASURES."
"That doesn't sound good," said Joker.
"Commander, I'm detecting new energy signatures," said one of the ensigns manning the sensors, "Five, ten, twenty and climbing. Ma'am, the derelicts are reactivating!"
"What?"
Shepard looked out the window and saw that some of the shattered wrecks that surrounded the mysterious ship were indeed activating and slowly moving into formations. They were all in terrible shape, with many being unable to move at a slow crawl and missing huge chunks from their hulls. However, that didn't stop the gathering ships from being intimidating, especially because the computer still had no idea what they were made of, let alone how well armed they were.
"Joker," said the Commander.
"Right."
The Pilots fingers danced across the controls, sending the Normandy wheeling away, just in time to avoid the barrage of laser blasts the arrayed ships sent their way, obliterating some of the junk and asteroids that had been behind the Normandy before it dodged. The fact the ships were apparently armed with working and extremely dangerous energy weapons made the seemingly harmless and damaged ships that much more dangerous and Joker immediately went into evasive mode, taking the Normandy on a dizzying series of spins, dives and swoops to dodge the follow up blasts that even the advanced internal dampeners the Normandy was equipped with strained to keep up. Fortunately, the ships were nowhere as manoeuvrable as the Normandy, particularly in their damaged states, and the damage they had sustained in the past meant that each could only get a few shots off before succumbing to its damage again and breaking apart, helped along by the occasional blast from the Normamdys own weapons. Finally, after 10 minutes of nerve wracking acrobatics, the last of the ships went silent, leaving the Normandy once more alone in the ship graveyard.
"Well, that was interesting," said Joker, leaning back in his seat with a sigh of relief, "Can we go now?"
"No, I want to see what they were protecting," said Shepard, "Take us in Joker and tell the squad to gear up and meet me in the hanger."
"Yes Ma'am," said Joker, before muttering something under his breath that Shepard didn't here as she headed for the lift to go grab her stuff.
Five minutes later, the ground Squad was gathered in the hanger as Shepard gave them their orders.
"Alright everyone, we don't know what we're going to find in their, so stay on your guard," she said, "Keep in radio contact at all times and holler if you find anything or need help. Understood?"
The colourful collection of characters arrayed in front of her nodded and voiced their understanding. Shepard nodded, before turning to their newest squad member.
"Are you sure your alright to come Liara?" she asked, "I mean, you did go through a lot on Therum."
"I'll be fine Shepard," said Liara, "Besides, I am curious as to what this facility is. Its clearly not Prothean in origin but I have never seen anything quite like it."
Shepard nodded.
"Alright, but please be careful. I admit, I'm not comfortable taking a civilian into a potentially hostile situation."
"Don't worry about me Commander, I can take care of myself," said Liara as the ship finally docked with the anomaly.
"Alright people, lets go!" shouted Shepard as the doors opened, allowing the squad to exit the Normandy and into a large, empty hangar area with numerous large berths that didn't look like they were designed for fighters.
It was eerily silent in the ship, and empty too as if it had been completely abandoned. There was absolutely no sign of habitation, not even dust, as if the ship had not been manned. That said, it was clearly meant to be manned as the Squad had come across several berths and a mess hall. Eventually, they reached the heart of the ship, what had to be the bridge or its equivalent. However, what they found was unlike anything any of the Squad members had ever seen. The room was a perfect circle, with numerous inactive consoles lining the walls and a single, rusted footlocker resting next to a cylindric, glass pillar in the middle of the room.
The squad slowly made their way into the room, covering the shadowed corners of the room, before lowering their weapons as they found they were alone. Once assured of their safety, Shepard ordered Alenko and Tali to see if they could get anything from the ships mainframe while the others stood watch. The Squad did as ordered, leaving Shepard to step up to the glowing pillar to take a closer look, moving slowly and ready to jump back if the pillar did anything. She didn't really want a repeat of Eden Prime.
As she examined the pillar, wondering what it was for, Tali gave a curse and kicked the stubborn consol she was trying to activate. Surprisingly, it worked and the bridge began to light up as everything started activating, including the pillar that lit up with a pale blue light, revealing the contents. Shepards yelp of surprise drew everyone's attention, and guns, to her, only for everyone to freeze as they saw what the tube contained. It was a human boy who didn't look much older than 17, with shoulder length, silver hair that floated around his head like a halo which, combined with his delicate, elfin features and flawless pale skin, made him look like some kind of angel. He had a slight build, with slender arms and legs and looked like some kind of china doll that would shatter at the slightest touch. He was wearing a skintight, white and black combat suit.
"W-what the hell?" spluttered Ashley, looking thunderstruck, "Whats a human doing here? Theres no way this ship was built by the Alliance!"
"Alenko, Tali, can you get anything from the mainframe now its active?" asked Shepard.
"We can try," said the Quarian, "But its very different to anything I've ever seen before. It could take a while."
Shepard nodded and turned back to the boy in the tank, only to find herself looking into a pair of amber eyes.
"Holy...hes still alive!" she said, "Come on, we need to get him out of their!"
She raised her gun to smash the tank, but was stopped by Garrus.
"Are you sure thats a good idea?" he asked.
"We can't just leave him!" protested Shepard.
"But we don't know what destroying that thing will do," said Garrus, "It could trigger a self destruct or something!"
"Do you have a better idea for how to get him out?" asked Shepard.
The Turian hesitated, before shaking his head. Shepard nodded and turned back to the tube, slamming the butt of her gun against the glass...Only for it to bounce off without a scratch. Shepard frowned.
"Williams, give me a hand over here!"
The Gunnery chief came over and joined her Commander and the squad began trying everything they could think of to get the tank open, including lobbing grenades and Biotic attacks at it. However, the only thing to come from their efforts were a few scuff marks and could be rubbed away with a finger. Not even a full force headbutt from Wrex did anything other than giving the Krogen a headache. Finally, Shepards patients with the damn thing ran out.
"Oh for gods sake, just open you stupid thing!" she shouted, kicking the tube.
"COMMAND ACKNOWLEDGED. BEGINNING THORING PROCEDURES."
The tank drained of its fluid as everyone turned to look at the surprised Shepard.
"How did you do that?" asked Tali.
"I...have no idea," said Shepard, staring at the tube wide eyed as it retreated into the ceiling, leaving its occupant lying on the ground.
The Commander shook herself and moved over to the boys side, gently turning him over and checking his pulse. However, as soon as her fingers touched his skin, the boys eyes snapped open and he rolled over, heaving violently as he brought up the blue liquid in his lungs, hacking and coughing to get it all out.
"Sola," he croaked, "Ubi est...Sola?"
There was a hint of an accent in his voice that Shepard could just make out through the wheezing, but it was too faint for her to place it. The Human Spectre knelt down next to the still dazed silverette and placed a hand on his shoulder. The teen slowly looked up, amber meeting green, before his eyes shifted to over Shepards shoulder, widening in surprise and fear as he tried to stand, only to stumble and fall as his weakened legs gave way. He scuttled back on his hands and knees, babbling in a language none of the Squads Omnitools could translate.
"Whats wrong with him?" asked Garrus.
"He looks terrified," said Liara, kneeling down in front of the teen, "Like he's never seen an alien before."
"But how could that be possible?" asked Garrus, "I'm not sure, but he can't be more than 17 at the most. He should have at least seen pictures of the other Races."
"But who knows how long hes been in that tube?" said Tali, looking up from the console she was leaning over, "According to this, that tube is some kind of stases chamber. He could have been in there for centuries."
"Stasis? I didn't know the Alliance had the technology for that," said Garrus.
"We don't," said Alenko, "This ship and everything in it, those cruisers that attacked us, none of them match any Alliance ship, past or present."
As they were talking, Shepard had moved over to the teen, who had pushed himself to his feet with the help of one of the consoles around the room and was watching the proceedings with curious eyes. The fear had gone from his eyes and stance, replaced by curiosity and interest. The Commander activated her Omnitool, intending to scan the boy to make sure he was OK, causing the teens eyes to snap to the holographic orange gauntlet. He reached out and touched the gauntlet and a spark leaped between his finger and the device, before his eyes rolled back into his head and he collapsed.
And thats the end of this entry to the Vault. I hope you liked it. I don't really think I have anything to say, so I'll sign out and leave to to review.
