Hollow of Azkaban
"Here it is, this is Harrys cell!" said a voice from outside of the room.
Inside the room, a pair of eyes opened, glowing in the shadows. The door to the room opened and allowed a group of people inside, pausing as they beheld the contents.
"Hello Professor, Ron," said the owner of the glowing eyes, "Welcome. Can I get you anything?"
"H-harry my boy?" asked Dumbledore, doing his best to hide his nervousness "Is that you?"
"It is indeed Professor," said Harry, "Who else would it be? After all, this is where you left me five years ago after that poor excuse of a trial."
Dumbledore clearing his throat.
"Harry, Lord Voldemort is wreaking havoc on our world," began the old man, "The Minister has agreed to allow you temporary freedom so that you can fight against him."
There was silence for a beat, before Harrys voice once again cut through the darkness.
"You've got a lot of nerve Old man," he growled.
"How dare you talk to Dumbledore like that!" shouted Ron, "If we didn't need you to defeat You-Know-Who we'd leave your murdering ass here to die!"
What the red-head wasn't expecting was for Harry to laugh.
"A bit late for that, Ron," said Harry, his glowing eyes seeming to rise up.
"What do you mean Harry?" asked Dumbledore.
"You don't think I would last very long in this place considering how badly Dementors affect me," said Harry, "I died after just two months in this hellhole."
Ron scoffed.
"Don't give us that Potter, you're clearly still al…"
Ron stopped talking as Harry stepped into the light, the two Wizards stepped back, eyes widening in shock and horror as they saw the new form their former friend had taken. While his form was still humanoid, however, his messy black hair and green eyes were all that remained of the human Harry Potter.
His body was black, looking like he was wearing a skintight suit, with black armguards with cream edges and matching boots shaped like hooves. His chest was covered in a dark blue breastplate and his face was hidden behind a blue and cream mask shaped like a deers head with an impressive rack of antlers, out of the back of which stuck a main of black hair. Most notably however, was the large hole in the middle of his chest.
"What are you?!" demanded Ron, whipping out his wand.
"This is what happens when a Soul filled with rage fails to pass on," said Harry.
"W-what do you mean Harry my boy?" asked Dumbledore, looking worried, "Why would you be filled with rage?"
Harry snarled and vanished with a dull booming sound, only to reappear in front of the old man a second later and grabbed him by the throat, lifting him of the ground as he choked him.
"Take your hands of Professor Dumbledore you freak!" shouted Ron, raising his wand.
However, before he had a chance to curse the Hollow, something grabbed him from behind and snatched the wand from his hand.
"Don't point your wand at my Master, you pathetic human" growled his captor, placing a clawed hand at Rons throat.
"You dare ask me why I am angry?" growled Harry, his grip tightening around Dumbledore's throat until he gasped for air, "I was betrayed by those closest to me! Or have you forgotten how you looked me in the eye and sentenced me to life in Azkaban for the murder of Cedric, even though you knew it was Voldemort who did it! You didn't even allow me to give my testimony under Veritaserum! And now you have the nerve to come into my home and demand that I fight for you? I should kill you right now for your insolence!"
He raised a hand, crimson energy appearing around his fist. Dumbledore whimpered, before the energy shot off Harrys fist with the sound of a bullet being fired. Dumbledore squeezed his eyes shut, but realized that his head was still attached. He opened his eyes and saw that Harry had actually shot the attack past his ear.
"Unfortunately, this world still needs you to provide a buffer against Riddle," said Harry, lowering his arm, "I will let you go this once, but do not return."
He threw Dumbledore towards the door.
"Go, and don't come back," he growled, indicating to the creature holding Ron down to release him.
Immediately, the old man and waste disposal scurried out the door, leaving Harry alone with his shadowy servant.
"Thank you for that Lucius," said Harry as he returned to his seat.
"Anything for you my master," said the servant, stepping into the light.
Like Harry, the being wasn't human, however, while Harry was humanoid, this one was not. Instead it resembled a large lizard of some kind, with slytherin green skin and a skull like mask patterned with black markings that any Auror would recognize as an Inner Circle Death Eater. Like Harry, the creature had a large hole through its chest.
"Has Bella returned?" asked Harry.
"I'm here, Master Harry," purred a new voice as a pair of violet eyes appeared in the darkness, "I have completed the mission you gave me."
"Excellent," said Harry, "Come forward my dear, make your report."
The eyes moved forwards into the light, revealing the owner to be a gigantic, black feathered crow with a plain, white mask covering its face and a gaping hole in its chest.
The crow knelt beside the lizard.
"Master, the girl you asked me to watch seems sad," she began, "Every day she looks at a picture of your former self and begs for forgiveness. She seems to want to find some way to make it up to you, but doesn't know how."
Harry smiled sadly under his mask.
"Oh Hermione, you have nothing to apologize for," he whispered, "Unlike the others, you never betrayed me."
"Master, there's something else," said the crow, drawing her master from his thoughts, "Recently, something's changed. She's stopped begging you for forgiveness and is instead begging you for help. Not only that, but she's started dating that Weasley Boy that used to hang around you. When I got close to her, I could smell Love and Loyalty Potions on her Soul."
Harrys eyes snapped to the Crow Hollow.
"What?" he growled.
"I think that Weasley has given your girl love potion to make her his," said the Crow cowering away from her masters anger, "He's been hanging around her for as long as I've been watching her, trying to claim her as his, only to be shot down repeatedly. It seems that hes finally gotten tired and decided to potion her like Lestrange did to me. He's been treating her horribly, but she can't leave him because of the potions, despite the fact she fighting them with all her strength. If this keeps up, she'll be dead by the end of the year."
Harry slammed his fists down on his chair and let out a roar of fury that shook the prison, causing the many lesser spirits that infested the lower levels of the prison to cower at their lord and masters fury.
"Go, leave me!" snarled Harry, causing his two lieutenants to flee as quickly as possible.
Harry sat back in his seat, reigning in his fury as he considered what to do about this newest development. Now he wished he'd crushed that annoying little red-head while he had the chance, but hindsight is 20-20 as they say. The problem was that this place was a prison, not just for the living, but the dead as well. As he had been imprisoned here he couldn't leave without being released by someone on the outside and he didn't exactly trust his lieutenants to watch over Hermione considering who they were in life.
"Well, aren't you in a conundrum," said a familiar voice from the door.
Harry looked up and smiled at the familiar sight of his Godfather, Sirius. Well, familiar to him that is, all anyone else would see is the Hollow he had become after his death at the hands of the Ministry after Harrys incaeration. After hearing that Harry had been arrested, the Grim Animagus had come bursting into the Ministry and tried to fight through every single Auror to save his Godson. Needless to say, he'd failed, been captured and tossed through the Veil. That was a mistake though as the Black Lord had reappeared shortly after Harry had become what he was now, more powerful than ever and eager to help his Godson however he could.
Sirius' new form was humanoid like Harrys and completely hidden under black armour. He had what looked like a pair of leathery coat tails and a yellow belt buckle. His mask was black like the rest of his body and shaped like a wolfs head with a long horn emerging from the forehead and grey hair sticking out the back. Unlike most of Harrys help who were armed only with natural weapons like claws and fangs, Sirius was armed with a large, crescent shaped sword and a dagger that doubled as a flute.
"I suppose that you have an idea of what to do?" asked Harry.
"I do," said Sirius, pushing of the doorframe, "Why not bring her here?"
Harry looked at Sirius, letting him know exactly what he thought of that plan.
"You want to bring a human with a strong Soul into a nest of Hollows?" asked Harry, "I want to help Hermione, not kill her."
"Hear me out Harry," said Sirius, "I wouldnt suggest it if I didn't have a plan."
Harry was silent for a moment, before indicating for Sirius to continue.
"Alright, lets hear it," he said.
"I'll bring Hermione here and give her a flushing potion to get the potions out of here and you order everyone to keep their claws off her," said Sirius, "No matter what, not one of the Hollows here would dare to disobey a direct order from you and those that do can be dealt with quickly. Once she's here, Hermione can release you and allow you to leave."
Harry frowned.
"Will that work?" he asked, "I thought that only a Ministry official could release me?"
Sirius shook his head.
"I've looked into the enchantment over the Prison and it seems that Souls can be released by a loved one, which is why Lucius and Bella can come and go as they please."
Harry sat back in his seat as he considered the plan. All in all it was a good one. Truth be told, he'd long considered having Hermione brought to him, if just to assure her that he didn't blame her for anything. However, considering that he was no longer the human boy she once knew, he'd decided against it in favor of just having Bella watch over her. Now however, things had changed.
"Do it," said Harry, "Whatever happens as a result of this decision, I won't leave Hermione in that state."
"Of course, my lord," said Sirius with a bow, before he snapped his fingers, summoning a tear in space, stepped through it and vanished.
Hermione let out a sigh as she walked down her street towards the supermarket to stock up on food for the third time that week after Ron ate it all again. As she walked, she couldn't help but wonder how she'd ended up like this, a housewife for a lazy, thick headed pig like Ron. She'd had such a great future ahead of her, passing all of her OWLs and NEWTs with honours and planned to leave the country to get away from the war, even going so far as to have multiple job offers lined up on the continent, only to throw it all away because Ron asked her to. She didn't even know why she was dating him considering what he'd put her through in school. Hermione stopped in place and pressed a hand to her head as the headache that always flared up whenever she thought bad about Ron stabbed into her brain.
"Are you OK miss?" asked a passersby.
"Yes, I'm fine," said Hermione, smiling at the man, before continuing on her way.
An hour later, laden down with bags, Hermione was on her way home and decided to take a shortcut through the park. As she walked through the leafy tunnels that the trees formed, the sound of music reached her ears. It was a flute and the tune was strangely familiar, like she'd heard it before in her dreams. The bags dropped from her fingers as she slowly began to make her way to the source of the music.
Finally, after leaving the well traveled portions of the park far behind, Hermione reached a pond that sat in the middle of a large clearing, at the edge of which sat a person with his back to Hermione, playing the song that had attracted the young Witches attention. As Hermione entered the clearing, the musician tilted his head slightly as if he knew she was there, but didn't stop his playing until he reached the end of the song.
"Good Evening Hermione," said the man as he lowered his flute, "Did you enjoy my playing?"
"Yes, it was beautiful," said the Witch, before his greeting registered in her mind, "Wait, how do you know my name?"
"You might say that I'm an old friend," said the man, getting to his feet and turning to face Hermione, revealing his black, doglike mask.
Hermione recoiled in shock at the sight of the menacing visage.
"W-who are you?" asked Hermione.
"Oh Hermione, I'm hurt," said the dog faced creature, "Don't you recognize my voice?"
Hermione blinked and took a closer look at the being.
"Sirius?" she asked, "Is that you?"
"In the Soul," said Sirius.
"B-but you were killed!" protested Hermione, "They pushed you through the Veil!"
"Do you know where that leads?" asked the former convict.
"No one does," said Hermione, "Its believed to lead directly to Death."
"Close enough," said Sirius, "Most Wizards would only last a few days on the other side, but I was different. I had something to fight for and I was able to survive and gain power. But enough about about the issues of Souls, I need you to come with me."
"Why?" asked Hermione, taking a step back.
"An old friend wants to talk to you," said Sirius, "Whether you come or not is up to you, however, your friend is worried about you and only wants to help you."
Hermione hesitated for a moment.
"I-I don't know," she said, "My boyfriends expecting me home soon."
"A boyfriend who regularly insults, demeans and drives you to tears?"
Hermione opened her mouth to retort, but found that she couldn't. It was the truth after all, no matter how much her potion addled mind wanted to deny it. Hermione opened her mouth to ask where they would be going, but was interrupted as Sirius' head suddenly snapped around and his hand lashed out, backhanding a Stunner from the trees aside with contemptuous ease, before retaliating with a yellow energy bolt from his fist that blasted a tree to splinters and forced the hidden attackers into the open, revealing them to be Mad-Eye Moody, Nymphadora Tonks and Remus Lupin.
"Hold it right their," growled Moody, pointing his wand at the dog-like Hollow, "I don't know who you are, but we won't allow you to hurt that girl!"
Hermione opened her mouth to protest, but was interrupted as Sirius stepped in front of her, his crescent shaped blade appearing in his grip.
"Do not interfere old man," growled the Hollow, "I don't want to have to fight old friends, but I will if you stand in my way."
"Old friends?" asked Remus, "What are you talking about?"
Sirius just growled, before swinging his sword, creating a huge cloud of dust and blinding the three Wizards. By the time the dust cleared, both the Hollow and Hermione had vanished.
And thats where I'll leave it their. I took a few ideas for design of the Hollows from a few different places, like Pokemon, Castlevania and Power Rangers. Don't ask. Anyway, time for me to sign off. Leave me a review!
