Dis Lexics vault of Secrets
Ideas, plot bunnys that won't let go, possible future stories. feel free to pick up the stories if you like them.
And we're back with another entry to the vault. This time its an idea that was inspired by DZ2's Rise of the Telumemancer story and an answer to the Way of the Warrior Challenge, rules below:
DZ2's 'Way of the Warrior' Challenge
Plot: On the night that Dumbledore left Harry on the doorstep, a second being was there with one purpose in mind: they knew Harry would be in a war, so they took it upon themselves to give him the strength that he needed.
Rules: Grey or Dark Harry
The being that takes Harry away MUST be part of some 'warrior' race (Valkyries, Amazons, Ninja, Samurai, Magical Priests, OC Race, etc.)
Harry's upbringing with this race MUST be in the story (so a few chapters BEFORE Hogwarts)
The one that takes Harry away MUST either adopt Harry or give him some sort of protection, keeping him with the warriors

When Harry goes to Hogwarts, he uses his warrior abilities as well as his magical ones
Harry's strength and abilities unnerve, annoy and even frighten some people
At least ONE other student of Hogwarts (OCs included) must be from the same race
At some point in the story, Harry MUST offer training to at least ONE person
Guidelines: Harry is trained to become the new leader of the race
Reasonable Creature Races (Elves, Centaurs, Goblins etc.)
Harry's weapon can be disguised somehow
Harry has a familiar
The race gets Sirius free and cleared
Lily and/or James are actually bloodline members of the race
Crossovers
A prophecy speaks of the warrior wizard
Forbidden: Slash
Any pairings other than the ones mentioned
Harems
The Dursleys raising Harry
Harry giving up his newfound abilities/powers
Weak, naive Harry
Dumbledore and/or Voldemort gaining the allegiance of Harry and his 'family'
Other than that, it's up to you...
Its also gonna have a ton of crossover elements, although I'm not sure whether or not it could be called a true crossover. You lot can be the judge. Enjoy!
Destiny of a Guardian's Light
Privet Drive was a perfectly normal neighborhood, thank you very much. Everyone who lived there was respectable, middle class families, with perfect fathers who left for work every morning in a gray suit in there gray cars, leaving there dutiful wives to keep the home and see the children of to school. Yes, it was normal to the point of being sickening.
It was in this normal neighbourhood that an extremely abnormal event was happening tonight on November the 1st, while up and down the country, people celebrated the end of the shadow war that had been happening within a small, isolated community of Magic Users. Albus Dumbledore, the self proclaimed 'leader of the light' and MOB extraordinaire dumped the one responsible for ending the war on the doorstep of Number 4 with nothing to explain the situation but a letter and then left with nery a backward glance at the boy who'd probably freeze to death before morning.
Fortunately for little Harry though, someone else was there, having been following the old geezer since he had taken Harry from the ruins of his parents house. Now the figure stepped out of the shadows and approached the little bundle. The person was tall and broad, clad in heavy looking metal armour and with wolf decals and a symbol on the chest. The symbol was a shield with a pair of hands gripping an axe inside. Strapped across the back of the figures hips was a large shotgun and a bulky looking handcannon was strapped to its hip. Across his back rested a huge, two handed sword made of dark metal that seemed to glow faintly orange.
"Are you sure this is wise Guardian?" said a mechanical voice as a little ball of light appeared next to the newcomer, "I doubt the Vanguard's will approve."
"I don't know Ghost," said the figure, "But I owe Lily and James far too much to let their son stay here."
The Ghost sighed and bobbed in the air.
"Very well then, I won't stand in your way," it said and vanished.
The armoured figure bent to pick up the bundle, but before he could stand, the tip of a wand was pressed against the back of his head. The Guardian froze.
"Don't move," said the owner of the wand, "Who are you and what are you doing with Harry?"
The Guardian's eyes widened at the familiar voice before narrowing in fury.
"Black," he hissed, his fists clenching hard enough to make the leather creak.
Sirius Black's eyes narrowed.
"Who are you?" he repeated.
Before he could get an answer or even think about casting a spell, the Guardian suddenly punched the ground. There was a blast of light, forcing Sirius to cover his eyes lest he be blinded. A moment later, before he had enough time to do more than blink, Sirius found himself being tossed over the Guardian's shoulder to slam into the unforgiving ground with a gun barrel pressed against his nose. Despite being a Pureblood, Sirius was well aware of what the massive gun could do should its owner pull the trigger, so he froze.
"You've got a lot of nerve showing your face here after what you've done Black," hissed the Guardian, "Was it worth it? Betraying your friends to that maniac?"
"What are you talking about?" gasped Sirius, "Who are you?"
The Guardian scowled and wrenched off his helmet, revealing a young man with brown hair that was greying from stress, a trio of nasty looking scars across his face and grey eyes that seemed to be glowing faintly with an inner light. At the sight of the mans face, Sirius' eyes widened.
"Remus? What...when did you get back?" he gasped.
"Just a few hours ago," growled Remus, "In time to find Potter Cottage in ruins and Harry being taken away by Dumbledore. Not that it matters to you, traitor!"
His finger tightened on the trigger.
"WAIT!" yelled Sirius, "I didn't betray them!"
Remus paused.
"You really expect me to believe that?" he said, "I know they put Godric's Hollow under the Fidelius Charm and who would they trust to keep the secret but you, there best friend and Godfather of there son?"
Sirius flinched and looked away from his long time friends burning eyes.
"They asked me," he said, "They asked me to be their Secret Keeper, but I said no."
Remus froze, his eyes widening.
"What? Why? Everyone knew you'd never betray them."
"Thats precisely why," said Sirius, meeting Remus' eyes again, "I knew that Voldemort would go after me once he found out about the casting of the Charm, so I suggested using Pettigrew instead."
"That coward?" scoffed Remus, "Why would you do that?"
"I thought it was the perfect bluff," said Sirius, "Voldemort would focus on me, leaving Pettigrew free and clear. That was a mistake. Dumbledore cast the spell on the 30th and the next day, Voldemort turned up on their doorstep. Pettigrew is the traitor, not me."
Remus remained still for a moment, staring into Sirius' eyes, searching for any hint of a lie, before he let out a sigh and stood, removing his gun from Sirius' face. Sirius got to his feet, groaning slightly as his back twinged.
"Where did you learn to do that?" asked Sirius, "And where have you been? No ones been able to get in touch with you for nearly two years."
"I've been in Russia," said Remus, "At the Wall."
Sirius blanched. The Wall was a place that all magically raised children knew about, it being a staple in stories parents used to get unruly children to behave. The Wall was a massive construct that had been built in Merlin's time during a war with a particularly evil Dark Lord who had managed to open a number of gates to Demonic Planes of existence, turning a huge swath of Russia into a hellscape. While the Dark Lord was defeated, the Gates remained open, forcing the Wizards at the time to build a massive wall around the area, laced with an obscene amount of magic, most of which had been lost to the ages, that basically caused the non-world to forget that a large chunk of Russia even existed.
Of course no wall can hold back the forces of Hell forever, at least, not on its own, so the Wizards who built it tapped into the same magic the Dark Lord had used to bring something of their own through into the world, a Spirit of Light known simply as the Traveler. This being granted the Wizards who summoned it the power they needed to fight the Darkness that plagued the Hellscape by releasing little Spirits of Light known as Ghosts who bonded with those compatible, creating the group known simply as the Guardians. Honour and Duty was the code of the Guardian and almost everyone around the world held them in admiration. I say most because, as always seems to be the case, the British Ministry didn't like the fact that there were people who commanded the forces of magic in ways the simply couldn't understand, not to mention the Guardians use of weaponry based around the Mountains guns and thus declared them 'Dark Creatures'. Ironic since most of them were Human and all fought with the power of the Light.
In addition to keeping the Wall standing and the Demons from breaking free Guardians, the, usually low ranks and trainees, also served as a global peacekeeping force, dealing with problems a country's own security force was ill equipped to deal with. The only reason they hadn't stepped in to deal with Voldemort once it became clear that he was to powerful to stop normally was because the British Ministry refused to admit they had a problem and allow the Guardians in to deal with it.
"T-the Wall?!" spluttered Sirius, "Are you insane? Why would you go there?"
Remus shrugged.
"Why not?" he asked, "Its not like I was ever going to get very far here thanks to my Furry Little Problem and Voldemorts use of Werewolves wasn't helping my reputation. I thought it would be best if I just disappeared."
Sirius scowled. Remus had always had a horrible self worth issues thanks to the fact he was a Werewolf. Fortunately, in the past, Sirius and James Potter had always managed to talk him out of doing something stupid, however, the War had distracted everyone and Remus apparently managed to sneak away without anyone noticing. Fortunately it seemed that he was none the worse for ware.
Remus continued his story, apparently unaware of Sirius inner thoughts.
"I traveled around Europe for six months before I found myself in Russia. I admit that I was in a...bad place. I spent more time drunk than sober and every day I got closer to just ending it."
"What changed?" asked Sirius.
"I found myself at Felwinter Peak," said Remus, a nostalgic smile on his face, "I have no idea how I actually got there since I was blind drunk, but I woke up warm and comfortable instead of naked in a field somewhere. It was at Felwinter Peak that I met my teacher, a Guardian named Saladin Forge. He taught me a lot during my time there, even before I decided to become a Guardian. However, I think that story should wait. We need to get Harry somewhere safe."
Sirius blinked as he remembered the reason he'd come to Privet Drive in the first place.
"Your right," he said, "We can't leave him here, not after everything Lily told us about her Sister. But where should we take him? I think there are some Black properties we could use."
"Actually, I was going to take him to the City," said Remus.
Yet again, Sirius' eyes widened in shock.
"You mean the Wall?" he said, "Are you insane?"
"Not at all," said Remus, "The City is safe, despite its close proximity to the Wall, thanks to the sheer number of Guardians that live there and its far away from anyone who may want to hurt Harry."
Sirius let out a groan and shook his head.
"Damn, I hate it when you make sense," he grumbled, "Fine, but I hope you have a way to get there. There's no way the Ministry or Dumbledore will let us leave the country with Harry."
"I'm not you Sirius, I actually think ahead," said Remus, ignoring Sirius squark of protest.
The Guardian picked up Harry and cradled him in one arm as he put his other hand on Sirius shoulder.
"Alright Ghost, take us home," he said.
The little spirit appeared.
"Understood Guardian," it said and began to glow brightly.
There was a flash of light and a surge of magic that triggered the alarms of every single car on the road as the three males vanished, leaving the barely formed Wards to collapse in on themselves.
Meanwhile, in the well hidden area of the planet known as the Hellscape, deep below the Earth in a corrupted cavern full of swirling darkness, a small, greyish flame appeared in the massive crystal that dominated the room. For a moment the flame remained still, before it suddenly erupted, forming into a dark figure with glowing red eyes. The formless being shifted, seeming to examine itself, despite the fact its form was solely made of darkness, before a deep, dark laugh emerged from the crystal, echoing around the chamber.
"Yessss, it worked," it said.
The being waved a hand and a cloud of darkness formed in front of it, clearing to show an image of people in robes celebrating, focusing on an old man in purple robes and a long, white beard and hair. The being scoffed and laughed again.
"Celebrate while you can Dumbledore," said the figure, "I may have been banished for now, but I will return, more powerful than you can possibly imagine. You may serve the Light, but now I AM DARKNESS! I AM LORD VOLDEMORT, THE NEW TAKEN KING!"
With that explanation, the crystal released a pulse of energy that rushed through the massive catacombes the cavern rested in, awakening all that slept there to answer the call of their master.
And thats the end of that. So tell me, what do you think? Obviously, this is a crossover with Destiny, albeit with the scifi replaced with magic. The Demons are the various enemy races from Destiny summoned from a hell world and the Traveler is a Spirit of Light. However, everything is as you'd expect it, just limited to a corrupted area of Russia. The only thing I haven't been able to come up with a way of transferring is the Exo since I can't exactly have robots walking around and explain it away with Magic.
In case you can't tell, Remus is a member of the Iron Lords because Wolves. Also, they are really, really cool.
Volde has somehow managed to turn himself into the Taken King. Thats going to make for an interesting twist in the tale, no?
On a side note, if anyone reading this plays Destiny and feels like being my friend (sob, so alone) my handle is Dislexic and I play an Awakened Warlock. Lets see if I get any friend requests from this. With that out of the way, I'm going to sign off and leave you lot to review.
