Dis Lexics vault of Secrets
Ideas, plot bunnys that won't let go, possible future stories. feel free to pick up the stories if you like them.
And we're back with an idea thats a little different. The main cross is between Harry Potter and Power Rangers with elements of Digimon Fusion, although thats mostly to do with the inspiration for the villain, powers and other stuff, no actual connection with the Digital World. That makes no sense but its the best way I can think to put it. With that, I'm done so lets dive straight in.
Ancient Warriors of Magic
In a place long forgotten by Humans, a white clad woman stood before a clear pool of water. She was tall and graceful, with flowing golden hair tied back with golden jewelry and sapphire blue eyes that were currently full of worry. She wore golden bands around her wrists and ankles, while her feet were covered by simple sandles.
The pool before her that appeared to be the source of her worry was mounted on a stone plinth in the center of a large, white room with nothing but a golden throne and five stone pillars, each with a different symbol carved into the base and what appeared to be armour resting on top.
"This is not good," whispered the woman, "Those foolish mortals...do they not see that they will bring about the destruction of their world?"
She shook her head sadly and turned away from the pool. As she did, she noticed something strange. The symbol on the first pillar, which had a red suit of armour on top, was glowing.
"What...thats never happened before," said the woman as she approached the glowing pillar, "Why are you active? That shouldnt happen unless…"
She suddenly went white.
"Oh no!"
She rushed back to the pool and waved her hands over it, causing the image on it to flick between countless images, before it went completely black. She somehow went even whiter and took a step back.
"No, not him," she breathed, "The seal is weakening...no, we should be alright. Even if the seal is weakening, he is still powerless."
As if to prove her wrong, the image changed to show a man that looked very snakelike with slimy looking white skin stood before an altar depicting a silhouette with twelve wings.
"GOD DAMN IT!" she shouted, "Why do these bad guys always have to try and get more power?!"
She sighed.
"Alright, I can't do anything, but I know someone who can help."
She turned to the five pillars.
"Are you ready?"
The armour pulsed slightly with light.
"Then call them."
The pillars pulsed again, before each was covered in a pillar of coloured light.
Harry Potter was terrified. The very last thing he had expected when he went out to find somewhere to brood over Cedrics death at the end of last year was to be attacked by a pair of Dementors, yet here he was, being forced to defend himself and his cousen from a pair of the monsters. He was just about to cast the Patronus Charm to drive the monsters off, when a beam of red light shot through the roof and teleported him away, blasting the two Dementors to ash in the process, leaving an unconscious Dudley Dursley and a horrified Mrs Figg who had just shown up wondering how in the world she was going to explain this to Dumbledore.
Draco Malfoy was worried. Despite what many people thought, he wasn't stupid. Sure, he might have been when he was eleven, but he had grown up since then. He had realized that the Pureblood agender his Father spouted was flawed in so many ways it was almost terrifying, not to mention the fact that he'd come to the conclusion that the return of the Dark Lord would be a very bad thing for the entire Wizarding World, no matter what his Father thought. Seriously, the man had ordered the deaths of nearly 100 Pure Blooded families! He was more likely to be the cause of their worlds destruction than the Muggle Borns! Because of that, he had no intention of joining the Dark Lords ranks, but that left him in a bit of a pickle. If he didn't join, he was likely to be killed, but he had no way to get out. He was just starting to realize how screwed he was when he vanished in a beam of white light.
Neville Longbottom was angry. He'd been feeling that anger for years, ever since the first time he had been told what happened to his parents. Now however, he was angry for a very different reason. The Wizarding World was shoving its collective head in the sand over the Voldemort issue, simply because Fudge was a coward, including his own Grandmother! The man responsible for his parents becoming vegetables was back and no one was doing anything about it! Worse, they were calling Harry a delusional liar and worse! Harry had done so much for the world and now they were treating him like absolute crap! Sure, Neville and Harry weren't exactly bosom buddys, not with that pig Ronald hanging around him, but the pudgy lion had a lot of respect for the Boy-Who-Lived and not just because of that title! But what could he do? He was just one teenager with little to no skill at magic! He was just about to get depressed over his own inadequacies when he vanished in a beam of blue light.
Luna Lovegood was feeling happy. She knew what was coming. Sure, it would be dangerous, hard and she and her friends would get hurt, but that didn't change the fact that she'd have friends who'd last a lifetime. She couldn't wait to see Neville in his spandex! She hummed a happy tune as she vanished in a green light.
Hermione Granger was absolutely incensed! She had been at Grimmauld Place for the better part of a month now and Harry was still nowhere to be seen! It was bad enough with Mollys constant mothering and obvious attempts to push her and Ronald closer together (EW!), but Dumbledores constant brushing off of her questions about Harry and the fact he was apparently intercepting her mail to her best friend in favor of his own 'approved' messages were the absolute last straw. She was about to give the old man a piece of her mind when she vanished in a beam of pink light.
Harry stumbled as the red light vanished, leaving him in a room he had never seen before.
"What the...where am I?" he asked, not expecting a reply.
"I would like an answer to that as well," said a familiar voice.
Harry whipped his head around to see Malfoy stood a short distence away, looking a little dizy.
"MALFOY!" he shouted, jumping away, "What are you doing here?! Is this Voldemorts doing?"
"Of course its not," said a dreamy voice as a short, blond girl with wide, pale blue eyes stepped between them, "Don't worry Harry Potter, this has nothing to do with Tom Riddle."
"What the...who are you?" asked Harry.
"Ohh, I think I'm gonna be sick," said another voice, distracting Harry from his question.
He spun around and saw Hermione and Neville stood a short distance away looking a little ill.
"Hermione? Neville? Your here too?" he asked.
"Apparently," said Neville.
"Where exactly is here?" asked Neville, "And why are we here?"
"I can answer that child."
The five teens jumped (Well, Luna didn't, she just smiled dreamily) and turned to the voice to see the beautiful woman stood beside her pool.
"Welcome, I am Urial and this is the Crystal Watchtower," said the woman, "You have been called here for a very important reason."
"What reason?" asked Harry, still a little suspicious, although that was moderated slightly by the presence of his fellow Gryffindors.
"A great evil is growing in your world, one that threatens to engulf the world in Darkness," said Urial.
"Tell me something I don't know," said Harry.
"The one you know as Voldemort is simply a puppet," said Urial, "I am afraid that he is under the influence of something much more powerful and evil."
"What could be worse than Voldemort?" asked Hermione, looking a little scared.
Urial looked down sadly.
"Something very old and very powerful," she said, "He is using his power to increase Riddles and guiding him to recreate the Evils forces to gather energy to aid in his return. This must not happen!"
"So let me get this straight," said Neville, "Something worse than You-Know-Who is pulling his strings and making him even more powerful so he can spring this Ancient Evil?"
"That is correct."
"Then why are we here?" asked Draco.
"Because you have been chosen," said Urial, indicating to something behind the kids.
They turned and saw that they were each stood in front of one of the pillars.
"You must answer your calling and protect this world from the return of the Evil using the powers of the Warriors that sealed him away so long ago," said Urial.
"And if we refuse?" asked the Malfoy.
"The world is doomed."
"Can't the Ministry or the Order do anything?" asked Hermione.
Urial shook her head.
"No, even if you were able to convince one of them to act, Tom Riddle is now far too powerful for anyone to fight without the power of the Ancient Warriors."
"Fair enough, but why us?" asked Neville, "I mean, I sort of get Harry and Hermione, but the rest of us..? I'm just a medioca Wizard, Luna's...Luna and Malfoy is...well."
"I'm the enemy," said Draco, "My father is You...Riddles right had man. Why would you want me to be a defender?"
"I do not chose," said Urial, "This Spirits do. I know not why you were chosen, only that you were. Look."
The pillars lit up with light.
"Here us, Chosen Children," said a deep voice that sounded like many speaking at once, "We are the Guardian Spirits that defend the Earth from the Darkness. Listen and heed our words."
The pillar in front of Neville lit up.
"Neville Longbottom," said a deep voice that sounded like crashing thunder, "You hold within you the courage of a Warrior, the power to overcome any threat and the power to be a great warrior. You are a storm that will destroy any who threaten those you hold dear. That is why I, the Spirit of Thunder, chose you."
The spirit glowed and shot into a surprised Nevilles hand where it transformed into a strange, blue and yellow device with a screen. Before any of the kids could ask what the hell just happened, the Spirit in front of Luna began to glow.
"Luna Lovegood," said the Spirit in a female voice that sounded like show crunching underfoot, "You have the will to keep moving, no matter the obstacle, the desire to protect your friends and the purity and grace of snow. You are the blizzard that will turn all that stand against you to ice. That is why I, the Spirit of Ice, chose you."
Once again, the spirit transformed into a device, this one light blue and green. Next up was Hermione.
"Hermione Granger," This spirit sounded like the wind would if given a voice, "You have the drive to overcome any barrier placed before you, no matter what and seek out the knowledge you need to best protect those you love. You will blow through anything like a tornado to ensure they remain safe. That is why I, the Spirit of Wind, chose you."
Another flash another device, this one pink and purple. Next up was Draco and boy was this a suprise.
"Draco Malfoy," This voice sounded like a powerful and stirn warrior and made the boy instinctively stand up straighter, "You stand in the Darkness, believing yourself unworthy of a second chance, yet the darkness you stand in is cast by another. It takes great courage to walk into the light, more than anyone can ever know. You have done that, which is why I, the Spirit of Light, have chosen you."
Everyone went wide eyed at that and why wouldn't they? The Malfoys were one of the Darkest familys there was, other than the Blacks in their prime, yet here stood one of them receiving the blessing of the Spirit of Light. The spirit glowed and transformed into a white and navy device. Finally, it was Harrys turn.
"Harry Potter," this voice sounded like crackling flames, yet held far more wisdom than any of the others, "The courage you hold is beyond compare and your will is second to none. You have faced far more adversity than anyone ever should in your short life, yet you kept on going, keeping your fire burning. That is why I, the Spirit of Fire, have chosen you to be my host and the leader of these new Guardians. I wish you luck in your battles."
The Spirit glowed and transformed into a black and crimson device. For a moment, the room was silent as the teens took in what had just happened, before Draco spoke up.
"S-spirit of Light? Me?" he stuttered, "But...I'm not worthy…"
"The Spirit disagrees," said Urial, "You are still a child Draco. Yes you have made mistakes, but nothing you have done has been unforgivable."
"But…"
"Urial is right Draco," said Luna, "Didn't you want to get away before you were forced to do something that would stain your soul forever?"
Draco stared at the other blond in shock.
"How..?"
"I see things," said Luna as if that explained everything.
Before anyone could ask what the hell that meant, Urial spoke up again.
"Listen to me children," she said, "You now know why you have been chosen so you must make a choice. Will you fight and potentially save the world, or turn away and allow the Darkness to consume it?"
Hermione raised an eyebrow.
"You mean we have a choice?" she asked.
"Of course you do," said Urial, "You always have a choice."
"Some choice," said Neville, "Accept or the world is destroyed…"
"What do you think about this Harry?" asked Hermione.
Harry stared down at the device in his hand for a moment before he answered.
"I don't think we have a choice," he said, "I know I don't. I couldn't live with myself if I turned my back on something like this."
Hermione sighed.
"Then I guess I'm in too," she said, "I can't leave my best friend to fight alone."
"I-if you two are going to fight, I will to," said Neville.
"Oh, of course I'm in," said Luna, "I do look forwards to working with you all."
The four turned to Draco.
"What?" he asked.
"What about you Mal...Draco?" asked Harry, "Will you be joining us?"
Draco looked surprised.
"You mean you'll work with me?" he asked, "Even after everything I've done?"
Harry sighed.
"Draco, you're a drama queen," he deadpanned, "The way you talk makes it sound like you're a war criminal or something, but all you've been is a rather annoying brat. I'm not going to claim that I like you, but I am willing to put that behind me and work together."
He held out his hand.
"What do you say we start again?" he suggest, "Hello, I'm Harry Potter, its nice to meet you."
Draco stared at the hand for a moment, before he gave a small smile.
"Alright," he said, grasping Harrys hand, "I'm Draco Malfoy, its a pleasure."
The two shook and Urial allowed a small smile to touch her lips. Maybe the future wouldn't be so bleak after all.
And with that, I'm done. This might be an odd question, but does this read differently to my usual work? I kept thinking that it felt strange as I was writing it but I have no idea why. Anyhoo, a few points before I go.
First, the spirits are based on the Legendary Warriors from Digimon Frontier and look like them, although the actual ranger gear would be ranger gear not just the transformation.
Actually, thats all I need to say. Please leave a review on the way out!
