Cap 4: The scales of justice
In an office building, a man reviews documents he has been given for several days.
The man was tall and strong, his hair was black, he had a mole under his lower lip, he was dressed in an expensive green suit and his gaze was stern and cold.
This man was Damnatio Kira; a city judge who had just received evidence against a defendant, he just put it in his desk and left.
"What do we have for today?" Damnatio asked.
"Remember the attack a few weeks ago where 371 people were injured and another 170 people were killed? Well, someone with a lot of resources will pay us very well if we say that those responsible are hiding in the house of a random person." an assistant said.
"I must assume that those responsible for this horrible incident or the one who really hides them are our clients, right?" Damnatio asked.
"That's right, sir, but we don't know who to blame." the assistant said.
"That doesn't matter, the city needs a scapegoat to keep the peace, just pick some poor guy and that's it, as for the culprits the police can take care of them in due time, I don't think they are dangerous in the future." Damnatio said.
"Do you believe that, sir?" the assistant asked.
"Yes, what is really worrying is that human insect that thinks he is a hero, he has gained a lot of popularity in the last few months and I am starting to get a bad feeling about him." Damnatio said.
"Are you referring to Spider-Man?" the assistant asked.
Damnatio did not respond and simply left his office.
Meanwhile.
"Woo hoo!" Spider-Man shouted as he swung through the city.
After his fight with Fana a few weeks ago, Spider-Man had managed to completely repair his suit with Vanessa's help, and she had taught him how to make suits, so now he could repair his suit if it was destroyed again.
Moreover, he was fully recovered from his injuries so he could easily patrol the city to find the lair of the Byakuya No Magan.
Suddenly a microphone that had been installed in his mask began to ring, so before continuing his patrol, Spidey stopped on a rooftop to answer the call.
"Hello?" Spider-Man said.
"Hey, Asta, can you do me a favor?" Liebe asked.
"Sure, Liebe, what do you need?" Spider-Man said to his brother.
"I need you to come with me to a part-time job, I think this is our chance to help mom." Liebe said.
"That sounds pretty good, what is that job about?" Spider-Man asked.
"They need assistants in a packing house, the pay is not much but between what they pay us both we will help mom a lot with the household expenses." Liebe said.
"Count me in, brother, tell me when and where we do it and I'll be there." Spider-Man said.
"Thanks bro, by the way, don't say anything to mom, you know her opinion about it." Liebe said.
"Don't worry Liebe, trust me." Spider-Man said before hanging up the call.
"I hope this assistant job will help us, the money I earned in my first days after I got my powers is running out, we need more urgently." Asta thought worriedly.
Then, the hero receives another call.
"Hello?" Spidey said.
"Hello? Are you busy Asta-san?" Mimosa asked.
"Mimosa! Don't worry, I have free time." Spider-Man said.
"W-well... if you don't mind... I'd like you and me to go somewhere tonight." Mimosa said.
The hero was surprised at what he had just been told.
"Wait... Are you asking me out on a date?" Spider-Man asked.
"Y-yes…" Mimosa said shyly.
"Of course! I would be delighted!" Spider-Man said excitedly.
"Thank you, see you tonight." Mimosa said before hanging up the call.
"WOOOOOO HOOOOOOO!" Spider-Man shouted with happiness as he continued to swing.
"I guess everything will get better from now on, just get rid of those terrorists and everything will be..." Asta thought before detecting danger.
The hero quickly looked around and saw where the danger was coming from, it was a muscular red-haired man dressed in black with a wicked smile on his face, Spidey didn't think twice and followed him.
The man looked around and made sure that there were many people around him.
"Attention ladies and gentlemen, which of you will be the first to die?" the man said before extending his hand and throwing a large sharp stone at a passing child.
Before the stone hit the boy, Spider-Man shot his web at the stone to stop it and pulled it with all his might towards the man.
"Hey, big guy! I think you missed something!" Spider-Man said to the man as he returned his attack.
The villain smiled excitedly and quickly turned his arm into stone and successfully blocked the attack.
"You must be Spider-Man, hehehehe... You showed up right away like I was told you would! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!" the man said excitedly.
"And you are... I have no idea who you are... Shall I call you 'The Pebble'?" Spider-Man said mockingly to his enemy.
"I am Gaderois Godroc, but you can call me: The Pinnacle, the man who will defeat you!" the villain said introducing himself.
"That's what everyone says, but I'm the one who always wins and you, stone baboon, will be no exception." the hero said before getting into a fighting stance.
"I'll tell you something spider, I'm not like everyone else, and I'll prove it to you!" Gaderois said before throwing a huge stone punch at Spider-Man.
Spider-Man dodges the blow with ease and then uses his webbing to propel himself towards Gaderois and kick him in the face.
Gaderois gets kicked in the back of the head and recoils, then wipes his lip and sees his blood, which excites him and begins to repeatedly hit Spider-Man with his stone fists, but Spidey dodges them easily, then Spider-Man jumps back to shoot his web in his eyes and blind him temporarily, immediately the hero gets behind him and shoots his web again now in the back of his head and pulls him with great force to the ground.
"So, Pebble, is that the best you've got? I'm beating you and I'm not even starting to get tired." Spider-Man said, making Gaderois angry.
Gaderois yanked the webbing off his face and stood up from the ground while smiling and staring at Spider-Man.
"Not bad, spider, but this is just the warm-up." Gaderois said.
Gaderois threw a large stone at Spider-Man with great speed, just as the hero was going to dodge it Gaderois appeared next to him about to hit him with great force, but Spidey detected the danger and managed to dodge both attacks, causing Gaderois' face to receive the impact of the stone, breaking a tooth.
Now it would be Spider-Man who would attack, quickly hit Gaderois in the face again leaving him stunned, immediately Spider-Man begins to hit him several times from different sides, managing to hit all the blows and finally jumps on the head of Gaderois and hits him in the forehead.
"I have a question, Pebble, are you still warming up? Because I'm still not getting tired of it one bit." Spider-Man said mockingly while still on top of Gaderois' head.
"I'm tired of playing with you, you damn insect, I'll kill you right now!" Gaderois shouted before trying to hit Spider-Man with all his might.
Spidey immediately jumps and dodges Gaderois' blow, while he is in the air he shoots his web at him and pulls him up and gives him a spinning kick in the stomach making him hit the ground with great force, leaving him defeated.
The hero fell on top of Gaderois to finish him off and immediately wrapped his web around him.
"I don't think this guy will cause any problems, but it's better to render him unconscious." Asta thought.
"How is it possible? They said you couldn't defeat me! There must be some mistake!" Gaderois said in frustration.
"All right, Pebble, do you have anything else to say before I knock you unconscious?" the hero asked.
"This is not over, insect; as soon as I get more formula I will kill you." Gaderois said.
"Formula? Is that what you got your stone powers from?" Spider-Man asked.
"You don't care about that! I'll kill you! Did you hear me?! I'll k…!" Gaderois shouted before being knocked out by Spider-Man.
"I don't think I can get any more information out of you, anyway, the police can take care of you." Spidey said before he left.
"That guy was infinitely easier to beat than Fana, I think I'm finally getting better at this super hero thing." Asta thought.
"All right citizens, I'm out of here, take care." Spider-Man said.
"Thanks Spdey!" a random person said.
Shortly thereafter, Asta arrived home after taking off his suit.
"Mom, Liebe, I'm home." Asta said.
"Oh. Hey Asta." Liebe said.
"Brother. Where is mom?" Asta asked.
"She didn't tell me where she was going." Liebe said.
"Good, I guess I have some free time. I'll be in the room." Asta said as he walked away.
"Hey, what are you going to do?" Liebe asked.
"Oops, I forgot to say. I have a date with Mimosa." Asta said.
"Your girlfriend?" Liebe asked again.
"She is not my girlfriend... Yet." the hero said smiling a little blushing.
"Yet? So you want her to be your girlfriend in the future?" Liebe asked.
"Maybe." Asta said.
"Well brother, good luck with that." Liebe said to his brother.
Asta just smiled and went to his room to prepare for his date, just in case he also prepared his suit and his red thread of destiny in case he encountered an enemy.
And then night came.
"Suit ready, web shooters ready and emergency cartridges ready, I don't think I'll have much trouble tonight but it's better to be prepared." Asta thought as he put on his Spider-Man suit under his casual clothes.
"All right big bro, wish me luck." Asta said as he left his house.
"Good luck Asta." Libe said.
The hero walked away quite happily, everything was going well until he heard the ringing of his mask that he had put in his pocket, so he hid in a nearby alley and put on his mask to answer the call through his communicator.
"Hello?" Spider-Man said.
"A-Asta-san, I'm sorry to tell you our date is cancelled." Mimosa said with a frightened tone.
"Mimosa? Is something wrong? You sound worried." Spider-Man said.
"Nothing's going on, I'm just a little busy and... Ahh!" Mimosa said before she was interrupted.
"Mimosa? Mimosa! Are you okay?!" Spider-Man asked worriedly.
"Just... Call the police... Please..." Mimosa said very scared, on the verge of tears.
"Hold on! I'll call someone to help you." Spider-Man said before hanging up the call.
Spider-Man quickly stripped out of his casual clothes and put on the rest of his suit, then swung at full speed to Mimosa's house to save her from whatever was happening to her.
After a short time, Spider-Man arrived at Mimosa's house, where there was a large amount of fog around. Without wasting any time Spider-Man entered the house and started looking for Mimosa, due to the large amount of fog he couldn't see where he was going, so he decided to rely only on his pang to detect any danger.
"I need a better term than 'pang' for this thing." Asta thought to himself, before detecting the approaching danger.
Spider-Man looked around to see if he could find Mimosa or whatever was attacking her, he decided to move deeper into the area where the danger was greater, until he finally detected the danger approaching him.
The hero easily dodged the attack and tried to counter it, but just as his opponent was about to receive the impact he vanished as if he were part of the mist that surrounded him.
"That had never happened before; I didn't expect the bad guy to be a ghost." Spidey said as he looked at his enemy.
His enemy was a thin, light blue-haired man with a big nose, dressed in black with a brown vest and a blank stare.
"Oh boy, I didn't expect Spider-Man to show up here. It's my lucky day, after all I was going to come looking for you anyway." the villain said to Spider-Man.
"There are better ways to look for me than attacking an innocent girl, jerk." Spider-Man said.
"Don't worry, when I'm done with this job you'll be next, spider." the man said to the hero before attacking him.
Spider-Man dodged his opponent's attack, and then tried to counterattack him but he faded away.
"Not bad, spider, but you should know that your attacks will never be effective against me." the evil man said to Spidey.
The elusive enemy disappeared into the fog and tried to attack Spider-Man again, but he detected the danger and dodged again, then the villain increased the speed of his blows to hit him, but he was not fast enough to overcome Spider-Man's superhuman reflexes.
"So, moron, do you have a villain's name? Because I'm very good at naming villains." the hero asked to his enemy.
"Well, my name is Foyal Migusteau, but I think this name fits me better: Killer Mist." the Spider-Man enemy said introducing himself.
"Pff. There are better names than that. How about if I call you "Little Cloud" instead?" Spidey said mockingly.
"No matter what you call me, you will soon die." Foyal said before attacking Spider-Man again.
The hero kept dodging Foyal's attacks, but could not find a way to defeat him, so he came up with an idea to weaken him and also to find Mimosa more easily.
Spider-Man ran towards the exit of the place as fast as possible, then Foyal started chasing him through the fog. As he followed him, Foyal tried to attack him, but he was able to avoid all his blows until he finally made it to the exit.
"Looks like you've run out of energy, spider, let's get this over with so I can have fun torturing that cuteness in there." Foyal said as he prepared to finish off Spidey.
"Sorry, cloud-brain, but that lady is under my protection and you are in my trap." Spider-Man said quite confident of himself.
Suddenly, the fog surrounding Foyal began to melt away, and Foyal could do nothing to stop it.
"What the...?! W-what is happening to me?" Foyal asked in alarm.
"I assumed that your powers don't work well outdoors since you didn't go outside to meet me, so I took you out of the house to test my theory." Spidey explained.
Spider-Man immediately shoots Foyal in the face with his web and then pulls Foyal in close so he can attack him with a kick to the back that leaves him dazed.
"Damn it... anyway… I don't need my powers to-." Foyal tried to say before being attacked again by Spider-Man.
Spider-Man's punches came from all directions and since Foyal's powers had weakened he could no longer defend himself or escape with his mist, after taking a beating from the hero Foyal was on the verge of collapse, finally Spider-Man ended the fight by giving Foyal a double kick in the stomach.
"It c-can't be... Y-you're stronger t-than I was told... I-I can't believe it..." Foyal said much weakened.
"All right smoke man, now tell me who sent you here and why, also tell me who the guy is looking for me." Spider-Man said.
"I-I won't tell you anything, spider... I-if you want to know, does your own research…" Foyal said before fainting.
The hero entangled Foyal with his web and rummaged through his belongings to see if he had anything that would lead him to his boss, in the end he only found Foyal's cell phone, after unlocking it with Foyal's fingerprints taking advantage of the fact that he was unconscious he found two text messages from two different contacts, one with an unregistered number and the other called 'D. Kira'.
Spider-Man first decided to watch the conversation with the contact "D Kira".
D Kira: If you have already found the right person to incriminate, plant the false evidence against them and get out of there immediately, I don't want you to draw more attention to yourself than you have to, do it or you're fired.
Me: You can count on me, boss.
After reading the conversation, Spidey saw the unregistered number's conversation.
Unregistered number: Once you finish whatever you have to do, lure the spider and bring it to us, no matter if it is dead or alive.
It seemed that it was not possible to answer the conversation on the unknown number, so he answered to 'D Kira' pretending to be Foyal.
Me: Boss, I don't think I can do this assignment. Where can I meet you?
D Kira: You are useless, come to this location tomorrow so that I can fire you myself.
After receiving the location the contact gave him to meet him tomorrow, Spider-Man went to look for Mimosa, who fortunately was fine.
"Don't worry Mimosa, your friend Asta sent me to rescue you, he seemed very worried." Spidey said.
"Thank you very much for saving me from that Spider-Man, if you see Asta-san tell him to excuse me." Mimosa said to the hero.
"I don't think he'll be upset." Spider-Man said.
After returning home, Asta took off his Spider-Man suit and hid it under his bed with some of his red thread of destiny, then called Noelle for help.
"Hey Noelle, how are you?" Asta asked to Noelle.
"Asta? Do you need anything? Are you okay?" Noelle asked.
"I'm fine, I just need a favor." Asta said.
"Sure, anything for you." Noelle said.
"I was looking at some things in the newspaper and... I found a weird name, something about a 'D Kira' and I wanted to know who he is." the hero explains.
On the other end of the call, Noelle looked up information on her computer and after a few minutes was surprised by what she found and told Asta.
"Did you say D Kira? I think it's Damnatio Kira, he is a judge of the city's justice ministry, from what I have found, several of the people he has declared innocent were actually guilty of the crimes they were accused of, even so he is considered a good judge." Noelle said to Asta.
"Great, my new enemy is probably a judge, who can put me in jail if he wants to." Asta thought in frustration.
"But if what you say is true, why haven't they investigated him? I thought your brother was a police." Asta asked.
"I don't know, I didn't know about this, but I think someone should do something about it, someone who works for justice should not let criminals go free." Noelle said.
"Don't worry Noelle; I'm sure someone will take care of him." the hero affirmed.
"I hope so Asta, thanks for letting me know about this." Noelle said.
After saying this, Noelle ended the call.
Asta hated having to lie to Noelle, it was bad enough having to lie to his mother and brother, he needed to tell someone his secret or he was going to freak out, he wanted to tell but he knew all too well the consequences of revealing his identity.
(Hypothetical case)
Spider-Man was in front of a huge crowd, about to reveal his identity.
"My name is Asta Staria and I am Spider-Man." Asta said as he removed his mask.
There was a lot of silence... Until everyone started making fun of Asta.
"Look at that fool; he thinks he's Spider-Man, hahahahahahah!" Sekke Bronzazza said as he mocked Asta.
Do you know who did believe Asta? ALL the super-powered criminals and villains he had locked up over the last few months.
Asta was walking along with Noelle, when he suddenly felt someone's hand on his shoulder.
"Do you remember me, spider?" Revchi said to Asta.
Behind Revchi were Heath, Gaderois and Foyal.
Noelle hit the back of Asta's head causing him to fall.
"You had to say it." Noelle said disappointed of Asta.
At the Staria family home, Asta, Liebe and Licita were having a quiet meal until someone knocked on the door.
Licita went to open the door and she was startled to see Fana and a group of Byakuya No Magan members behind her.
"Good afternoon Mrs. Staria, sorry for the inconvenience but I came to look for your son Asta to kill him." Fana said very casually.
"You had to say it." Licita and Liebe said angrily.
Asta only lifted his shoulders while smiling sheepishly.
Sometime later, a patrol car was in front of Asta's house to arrest him and it was Nozel who took him away.
"I'm sorry Mrs. Staria, but I have to arrest your son who has broken several laws and has used a mask to hide; besides I don't like him and by the way, he will never be able to get close to my sister for the rest of his life." Nozel said.
"Aww, man…" Asta said.
And in the end Asta was locked up with a bunch of criminals who wanted him dead and were ready to beat him to death.
"You had to say it." a prison guard said with a mocking smile.
"I know! I know!" Asta said in frustration.
(End of the hypothetical case)
Asta swallowed nervously at the thought.
The hero decided not to think too much about it and went to sleep.
Meanwhile Noelle was gathering information about Damnatio, after Asta called her she asked Nozel the reason why they have not investigated Damnatio, he replied that they had already tried but he had eliminated all the evidence against him and they had to leave his case unfinished since they could not arrest him without that, but she suspected that to this day he still let criminals go free as long as they paid him very well since most of the ones he let free were involved in financial crimes.
Noelle didn't know what Asta was up to, but if this Damnatio guy was threatening him or his family, she would help him in any way she could, even if she couldn't do much at the moment other than look for something that would incriminate Damnatio to facilitate his arrest.
"At times like these I wish I had powers like Spidey." Noelle said as she lowered her head sadly.
While Asta and Noelle were going about their business, Nero was finishing her research on the spider 00 and discovered that there was something bigger than she had originally thought.
Whatever they had done to the spider, it was to make it resistant enough so that the liquid inside it would not kill it, and that liquid was a great mixture of different highly concentrated chemicals that highly improved the physical and cognitive abilities of living beings with the defect that they were temporary and left the user very weak, but the radiation to which it had been exposed improved its effects very abruptly and in fact made them permanent.
Having been bitten by this spider, thanks to the mutation she had undergone to carry the liquid and the liquid inside her, she had been given spider-like abilities, which would explain why she could now walk on walls and why spider webs came out of her fingers.
Spider-Man who had shown up a few months ago also been exposed to that thing? He also had similar powers to it from what she had seen on the news.
If this empowering stuff is being mass-produced, they could use it as a weapon of mass destruction; she had to find out where it came from and stop its manufacture.
The next day during the night, Spider-Man went to the location Damnatio sent to Foyal's phone in hopes of finding him and stopping him from whatever he was doing.
He didn't know why a corrupt judge had sent an attack against someone like Mimosa, but if what Noelle had told him was true and if he had enough money to hire an assassin with superpowers, this guy was definitely dangerous and he had to finish him off to continue concentrating on the Byakuya No Magan.
Spidey saw an old building where the location was supposed to be, so he went in there and saw that it was completely empty, there was no one inside and that was a very bad sign, he didn't believe that Damnatio was just late.
The hero began to inspect the building to see if there was no trap or something like that and just when it seemed that there was nothing, Spider-Man detected danger nearby, which came from a bullet that had been fired at him, thanks to his reflexes he managed to dodge the shot and fixed his gaze in the direction from which he had seen.
"To call yourself a superhero, you are very naive, kid." A tall man in a trench coat and hat said.
Right behind him were a bunch of thugs with guns and knives.
The criminals launched themselves against Spider-Man, so he was forced to fight them all, while they tried to shoot him; he dodged the bullets and snatched their weapons with his webs.
Spider-Man beat them all unconscious and with his webbing he finished tying them up, except for the one who seemed to be the leader of these guys.
"Did you really think we wouldn't hear about Foyal's arrest? You're not dealing with normal street thugs, Spider-Boy." the man said to Spidey as he pointed his gun at him.
"I admit it, it was a mistake to believe that a criminal would not send his men to do his dirty work, but I still have things to do, you are not my target but you work for this Kira guy, so I want you to take me to him." Spider-Man said.
"Kira? What exactly do you want from Kira?" the man asked to Spider-Man.
"That's between me and him." the hero said.
The man laughed at that.
"You're very stupid, silly boy, just because I work for Kira doesn't mean I know where he is, but if you want to get to him you're on the wrong track. You want to catch him? Find something he likes and take it off, that's what he hates most in the world." the man explains.
"Well... But what exactly is that?" Spidey asked.
"I don't know, I suggest you go to his office tower on Friday night, there he will have a very important meeting with one of his clients, it's the perfect opportunity for someone like you to infiltrate there and find evidence against him." the man said.
"Why are you telling me all this? What's in it for you?" Spider-man asked.
At that moment the hero detected danger again.
"Well, just because I have to work for him doesn't mean I wish him the most benefit, besides he gave the police time to get here, we are protected, but you? Since you ran away from them last month I don't think they will have so much sympathy for you." the man said
Immediately afterwards, two armed police officers arrived and pointed their guns at Spider-Man.
"Oh oh…" Spidey said.
"Stop there Spider-Man, hands above your head and approach slowly without resistance." one officer said.
"Damn, I was really careless this time; I have to escape right now." Asta thought.
In one swift move, Spider-Man snatched both cops' weapons with his webs and jumped over them to escape from the scene.
The next morning, news broke that Spider-Man was spotted trespassing on private property, which was obviously not good for Asta.
"Well, officially my short-lived superhero life went down the drain." the hero thought with frustration.
The article didn't say anything about it being an abandoned place with no owner, nor that Damnatio's men were there, and it also said that Spider-Man said that he was above the law because he had powers.
During the afternoon, while going home, Asta decided that today he would not go out swinging in his suit, to avoid suspicion from the police or Damnatio, but he wore it under his clothes just in case.
Then as Asta was leaving for home, Noelle approached him to talk to him.
"Oh, hi Asta, How have you been?" Noelle said.
"Noelle! I... I've been busy but I'm doing great." Asta said, trying to lie, and he seemed to be getting better at it, although it wasn't something he was proud of.
"Well, I am also busy with an investigation and... I was wondering if you could help me with it." Noelle said to Asta a little flushed.
"Okay." Asta said without giving it any importance.
Hearing that, Noelle smiled happily and excitedly.
"What day would that be?" Asta asked.
"It would be Friday, if you can." Noelle said.
Then Asta remembered what the man had told him, that day Damnatio was going to be distracted in his office, which would be the opportunity to find evidence against him.
He was sure he couldn't trust the criminal but he had no other choice at this moment.
"Sorry Noelle, let's just save it for Saturday." Asta said.
"Oh, ok, but what are you doing Friday?" Noelle asked.
"It's something very important that I can't postpone, it's about my responsibilities, I really sorry Noelle." Asta said.
"I'm lying to my mom, my brother and the best person in the world. How can I keep calling myself a superhero?" Asta thought shamefully to himself.
"Don't worry, no problem, if it's important I won't stop you." Noelle said smiling.
"I don't deserve her." Asta thought.
"I don't deserve you." Asta said.
"Don't make a big deal out of it Bakasta, it's just that I choose the food that day." Noelle said to the hero.
Sometime later, while on his way home, Asta accidentally bumped into Nero and... They both stood still, VERY still.
They both blushed heavily and couldn't help but feel... weird... things.
"Ah…" the hero tried to say.
"Hmm…" Nero tried to say.
This was very uncomfortable for both of them.
"Bye." they both said before running off in opposite directions.
"That was weird... very weird." Asta thought.
For some reason beyond his comprehension, Asta found Nero the most attractive girl in the world, although he had never thought about it before, and lately every time he sees her all he wants to do is kiss her passionately.
"I'd better not think about it. I should go before some superhero thing happens." the hero thought as he left.
Unfortunately, a few minutes later some thieves were robbing some people in an alley, so Spider-Man had to stop them, it was quite easy, however the hero did not know that from far away some men who were Damnatio's henchmen were watching him.
"Hmm... That boy is very strong, I don't know if the boss could beat him in a fight." a henchman said.
"He was able to beat Foyal even though he had powers, we should let the boss know just in case." another henchman said.
Asta didn't know it, but Damnatio would be ready for his visit.
Meanwhile, Noelle continued to investigate Damnatio and saw that he was guilty of many more crimes than she initially believed.
After gathering a lot of information she discovered that he had been making shady deals with many of the people he had declared innocent, his clients paid him quite well in exchange for being set free, he also threatened some of them to do more dirty work to help him in exchange for keeping them innocent, he used justice for his own selfish ends.
If this guy was messing with Asta then it was something very serious, she began to feel helpless.
"I wish I could stop him, but even Nozel couldn't. What can I do to help Asta?" Noelle thought as she searched for the solution.
On top of that, she found out that Spider-Man was recently accused of associating with criminals; she couldn't believe that people were so naive to believe that, since Spider-Man has only helped people since he appeared.
Still, she knew Spider-Man would continue to help people.
"If Spidey won't give up, I won't either." Noelle said to herself as she continued to search for evidence against Damnatio.
A few days later on Friday night
Damnatio walked to his boardroom to meet with his client, unaware that there was another individual in the room that night.
Spider-Man was climbing outside Damnatio's office looking for a way in.
Through the window, the hero manages to see his enemy and feels insecure with his mere presence; he needed to stop him as quickly as possible.
"That guy... He is the one who commanded to attack Mimosa, and from what Noelle told me he is quite dangerous, he has let free murderers, thieves, criminals, swindlers and all that while he works for justice, it seems that just because he has money and no evidence he has not been arrested, meanwhile I am classified as a criminal." Asta thought angrily as he watched Damnatio.
Spider-Man made it to Damnatio's office and entered through the window.
"All right, his office must be full of evidence against him. I have to find something to incriminate him." Asta thought as he looked around the office.
At that moment Spider-Man detected danger, but there was no one in the office, so after looking around he saw a security camera.
"I have the feeling that this was not a good idea." Asta thought as he felt the danger increase more and more.
"Can I help you?" Damnatio asked Spider-Man in a cold and threatening voice.
"Thank you... But I can take care of myself!" Spider-Man said as he turned to strike Damnatio.
However, the blow seemed to be ineffective.
"This guy, unlike the others I've faced, has no powers, at least as far as I know. Why didn't my punch have any effect?" Asta thought in surprise.
Damnatio grabbed Spider-Man's arm with great force and bent it to immobilize him.
"What's the spider doing here? Mr. Big was supposed to have killed you." Damnatio said.
"First answer me: Are you Kira?" Spidey asked.
In response, Damnatio further bent Spidey's arm.
"That's right, I am Damnatio Kira: Judge of the city." Damnatio said.
"That means…" Spidey said before pulling out of Damnatio's grip.
Immediately after, the hero kicked Damnatio in the face, knocking him back.
"…you are my target!" Spider-Man finished as he landed on the ground.
"In all the time I've been Spider-Man I haven't lost a single fight and after what happened with Fana I doubt there's anyone capable of defeating me." Asta thought as he prepared to fight.
Just as he was about to attack the criminal, Spider-Man detected danger and noticed that his opponent had pulled out a small detonator which he did not hesitate to activate.
The next second Spider-Man felt a strong electric shock throughout his body.
"AAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" Spider-Man cried out in pain.
Damnatio just dusted himself off and attacked the hero with great force and left him on the ground unconscious.
Then Damnatio's henchmen and their client arrived.
Damnatio's client was none other than Licht.
"It seems that we have the same enemy, Kira." Licht said.
"So, the spider is the one interfering in your affairs?" Damnatio asked.
"Unfortunately yes, he is the reason my friend Fana was arrested." Licht said.
Damnatio saw Spidey on the ground and glared at him as he confirmed he was unconscious.
"Apparently, he didn't think I would set a trap for him." Damnatio said to Licht.
Then, Damnatio took the opportunity to remove Spider-Man's mask and learn his identity, both he and Licht were surprised to see the hero's identity.
"Who would have thought? It's just a child." Licht said.
"So a naive child is the self-proclaimed 'Amazing Spider-Man'." Damnatio said with even more contempt for Spider-Man.
"What will you do with this child now, Kira?" Licht Asked.
"I'll make Mr. Big come to me, but first I'm going to get rid of this kid." Damnatio said as he lifted the hero's unconscious body.
The next moment Damnatio threw Spider-Man through the window through which he entered, he also kept his mask.
As he fell, Asta regained consciousness and quickly noticed that he was falling from a height of almost 50 meters, so he quickly shot a red thread to the nearest structure to swing and save his life.
Asta immediately realized that he didn't have his mask on, so he quickly went to a place where no one could see him to take off his suit and put on his casual clothes.
"I should have stayed with Noelle." Asta said to himself in frustration as he took off his suit.
After a long walk, the hero returned home, his morale in tatters after his humiliating first defeat.
"Dear Asta Staria: You suck. Sincerely, Asta Staria." Asta thought as he felt totally and utterly humiliated.
"I could take a fight against a crazy girl who threw fire and was riding a dragon, I could beat a bunch of terrorists, I could beat a bunch of assassins and criminals, but I couldn't beat a guy with no powers, plus it looks like he was waiting for me, I guess I was overconfident." Asta reflected on the recent events.
The worst thing is that he could not find evidence against Damnatio since he was only there for a maximum of 30 seconds.
"I just hope mom doesn't get mad." Asta said nervously.
"Hi mom…" Asta said as he entered his home.
Then Asta saw his mother sitting on the couch.
Licita did not respond to Asta.
"Are you mad at me?" Asta asked worriedly.
"No." Licita respond.
"Is something wrong, mom?" Asta asked one more time.
Licita was silent for several seconds without saying anything.
"Are you happy, Asta?" Licita finally asked.
"Am I happy? Sure, why are you asking me that, mom?" Asta said.
"Well, it's just that you're never here, you must have other occupations, but..." Licita said.
"No! It's not about that... I... I thought you were busy with all the household expenses and so... uh... I didn't mean to worry you. If it bothers you that I'm late I'll try to come home earlier." Asta tried to explain to his mother.
"I... I know I failed you, Asta... If I hadn't been so careless, your friend wouldn't have died protecting me... I know that bothers you... I'm sorry..." Licita said to Asta, ashamed of herself.
"I... I never blamed you for that, mom... It was my fault for not being there to protect you... I'm sorry if I made you feel bad about that." Asta said to Licita.
Then, mother and son embraced, showing how much they loved each other.
The next day, Saturday morning, the hero was quite sore, but not as sore as when he fought against Fana.
After a while, Asta finished making another mask and decided to stay at home until he had to go see Noelle, he hoped that nothing would happen that would make him put on his suit.
"I hope Noelle didn't notice that I'm still sore from yesterday." Asta thought.
A few hours later, Asta went to meet Noelle, but inadvertently overheard a conversation passing by where he was walking.
"Did you hear about a few days ago? That guy almost killed that poor girl." a random guy said.
"How horrible. For some months now people with strange powers have been appearing. Do you think they are caused by something special?" a random girl asked.
"Maybe they are mutants, maybe they have started to appear in the city." the guy said.
"Mutants? That's ridiculous, mutants don't exist." the girl said.
"I don't know... Remember that in Heart they are very common, maybe some of them came to Clover to take refuge here." the guy said.
"Anyway, I hope those monsters are nothing more than a myth and don't come to attack us, I've always heard that mutants are evil." the girl said.
Asta was intrigued, having never heard of mutants, he decided he would investigate them later.
Sometime after walking, the hero arrived at the place where he was going to meet Noelle, he approached her greeting her and she smiled at the sight of him.
"Asta. Glad you could make it." Noelle said with a blush.
"It's always good to be with you." Asta said.
Noelle felt her love for Asta grow even stronger.
"So, what do you want us to do?" Asta asked.
"Let's look for evidence against Damnatio Kira." Noelle replied with enthusiasm.
At that moment Asta almost had a heart attack, as he remembered that last night Damnatio had removed his mask, so he knew his secret identity.
"W-what? Where would we find evidence? I don't think it's on the internet, is it?" Asta asked in fear.
"That's right; I didn't find anything useful on the internet, so we're going to his office to find something that will help us prove he's a criminal." Noelle said.
"But why do you want to do that? From what you told me the other day he seems to be a pretty dangerous guy, if we mess with him who knows what could happen to us." Asta asked to Noelle.
"It's because I want to help you Asta. I don't know what you got yourself into, but I know that Kira is hurting you in one way or another. You've always helped me since we met and besides, you..." Noelle said before stopping, as she still didn't have enough courage to declare her love to Asta.
"But... If something happens to you, I... I've already seen a friend die, if something happens to you, I can't stand it." Asta said in fear that something was going to happen to his best friend.
"I know, I feel the same way and that's why I must help you. If it scares you, stay back and I'll take care of finding the evidence." Noelle said with determination and understanding in her voice.
"But... If Kira sees me with you, she will also come for you and if you..." Asta said in a very frightened manner.
"Don't worry, nothing will happen to me. Just keep Kira from seeing us together, I'll call you on the phone and tell you what I see." Noelle said to Asta.
After a while, Noelle arrived at Damnatio's office, while Asta was too worried about what was going to happen.
"I can't go to help Noelle, if I go as Asta, Kira will remember me and if I go as Spider-Man, Kira will know it's me, what am I supposed to do?" Asta thought worriedly as he searched for a solution to his problem.
Meanwhile Noelle was walking around the office looking for some evidence, hoping that Damnatio was not there.
The only relevant thing she noticed were the security cameras that were everywhere, so she quickly took a picture of one before anyone noticed it to see it later; it was easy for her since she had improved her photography skills to be able to take pictures of Spider-Man.
"All right, now I just have to get back to Asta and get out of here before Kira arrives." Noelle thought as she began to call out to Asta and fled the scene.
The hero received the call and was praying for Noelle's safety.
"Asta, I think I have something. I'm going to get out of here; I'll see you at my home." Noelle said to Asta.
"All right, get out of there fast; if anything happens call the police immediately." Asta said.
"Don't worry; I have everything under con..." Noelle said before being interrupted.
"Miss, how can I help you?" Damnatio said to Noelle, making her and Asta's blood run cold.
"Ah... Are you Mr. Damnatio Kira? I was looking for you sir." Noelle lied, trying to leave the place without arousing Damnatio's suspicions.
"I'm sorry if I kept you waiting, I was taking care of an employee of mine, he let a nasty bug into my office so I had to... fire him." Damnatio said.
"Well... I... wanted to ask you if the things they say about you are true, I want to be a journalist and I wanted my first article to prove your innocence." Noelle said.
"Of course they are not true; I maintain the order and peace of this city. Even though we are now full of criminals and we have been invaded by those horrible mutants and that annoying brat dressed as an insect who thinks he is a hero I love this city that is why I am in charge of protecting it through justice." Damnatio told Noelle sternly, scaring her a little and scaring Asta too much.
"Do you mean Spider-Man? But as far as I know he's helped a lot of people in the city since he showed up, he even saved me on one occasion." Noelle said.
"That boy is nothing more than a danger to the city, just because he puts on a ridiculous costume and goes swinging around doesn't make him a hero, the people he 'saved' including you were just lucky he didn't kill them." Damnatio explained to Noelle as Asta began to change into his suit.
"I must hurry before it's too late, hold on Noelle." Asta thought while swinging at full speed.
"I see; you see Spider-Man as a threat. Then it must be true." Noelle said in lie form as she moved closer to the exit.
"That's right, it's nice to know that a lovely young lady like you thinks the same as I do, the city would be better off without that insect doing whatever he wants." Damnatio said, causing Noelle to become more frightened and Asta to hurry up more.
"Well... that's all I wanted to know, thank you very much for your time, sorry for the inconvenience." Noelle said before she could finally escape.
Noelle simply breathed a sigh of relief when she was finally safe and saw that her call with Asta was still on her cell phone.
"Asta? Are you still there?" Noelle asked to the hero.
"N-Noelle?! Are you all right?! Nothing happened to you?!" Spider-Man asked in anguish.
"I'm fine, don't worry. I don't think he suspected me, I'm on my way home." Noelle said.
"I am very relieved; I am on my way there too." Spider-Man said as he turned in the direction of Noelle's house.
After a while, the hero changed back into his civilian clothes and entered Noelle's house through her window.
Noelle arrived a little while after Asta, so she didn't see him come through the window or take off his suit.
"Noelle, good thing that guy didn't do anything to you." Asta said very relieved to see that Noelle was safe.
"Don't worry Asta, he didn't discover me and I managed to bring something that can help us." Noelle said as she pulled out her cell phone and showed the surveillance camera photo to Asta.
"Is that a security cam...? Oh, I get it! There must be some evidence against Kira, he spends a lot of time in his office, so there must be something incriminating." Asta said as he recalled seeing a security camera when he entered Damnatio's office last night.
"That's right, but I don't think the recordings are saved in the camera. I'm going to look up what model of camera it is to find out where Kira might save the recordings." Noelle said as she began searching on her computer.
"You are amazing Noelle, you stopped Kira from catching you, you found the evidence and now you are figuring out how to get evidence against him, no doubt you are second to none!" Asta said with a very obvious tone of admiration for Noelle.
Even though Asta had powers he could not find anything against Damnatio and he defeated him very easily, while Noelle had managed to obtain evidence, it was obvious that Asta had underestimated his own friend.
Meanwhile, Noelle blushed as Asta praised her and felt more in love with him by the second, she was so happy to have been able to help him.
"W-well... I think I'm so cool that I might even become a super heroine like Spidey." Noelle said smiling as she tried to hide her blush.
"Hehe. I'm sure Spider-Man feels the same way." Asta said making Noelle blush even more.
After a while, Noelle managed to find the model of Damnatio's security system and how it worked.
"It appears that the surveillance camera is from the 4566 Telech System security system. All the recordings are uploaded to the central server where they are stored on different USB sticks that can store years of information, if there is evidence against Damnatio it is stored there, but how are we going to get it?" Noelle said.
"Don't worry about that Noelle; I'll take care of getting the footage. You have already done a lot to help me today and I thank you very much, sorry for doubting you." the hero said to his best friend.
"Don't worry Bakasta, you were just worrying about me, I know you would do the same for me." Noelle said to Asta as she smiled.
"Well, before I go home, I'd like to ask you something. Have you ever heard of mutants? I heard Kira mention them." Asta asked.
"Well as far as I know mutants are humans who were born with something called the X-Gene, so they evolved to such an extent that they got powers over humans, they normally inhabit Heart City but there they are very feared by people, I have never seen a mutant unless... Do you think Spidey is a mutant?" Noelle said.
"I don't think Spider-Man is a mutant, but maybe the girl he was fighting a few weeks ago is. You know, the fight in your ere watching and when your brother was there too." Asta said.
"Even so, mutants are also human. I don't think they are all bad like her, we shouldn't judge them all just because they have powers." Noelle said.
"I agree with you Noelle, anyway, I have to go home now before mom gets worried. I thank you very much for what you have done for me and... If Kira is charged for her crimes I would like to tell you something that I should have told you a long time ago." Asta said as he looked at Noelle with admiration.
Noelle was surprised to hear that, she started to think that maybe Asta was going to declare his love for her, which made her feel very happy, so she hugged him.
"Anything for the most wonderful boy in the world, take care of yourself on the way home." Noelle said to Asta as she hugged him.
"She is undoubtedly the best friend in the world." Asta thought as he hugged Noelle.
Shortly after Asta left, Noelle saw on the news that a man had been killed and was wearing a Spider-Man mask, which scared her.
"Suspected felon Frederick Foswell, better known in organized crime circles as Mr. Big, was found dead in a downtown alley. Of course the news is shocking enough, but initial unconfirmed police reports say that Foswell was found with several parts of his body brutally stabbed." a newscast said.
"Oh no... That's the duty of the emplaced one that Kira talked about, he made Spidey almost catch Kira so he killed him for that." Noelle deduced as she watched the news.
"He was also wearing the mask of the man the media has referred to as Spider-Man. What does this mean? Has the young hero let his thirst for justice compel him to kill this criminal? We will report once we have more information." the newscast said.
"Kira is trying to frame Spidey so that no one can stop him... I hope Asta manages to get him arrested before it's too late." Noelle said to herself with great concern.
But deep down, she knew Asta was going to make it.
Later that night when Licita and Liebe were sleeping, Asta took the opportunity to go out the window with his suit on and set out to go to Kira's office to get the footage, but not before seeing that his mom was sleeping.
"Don't worry mom, I'll be back. I'll protect you, my brother, Noelle and everyone in town from that guy and then I'll take care of those terrorists." Asta thought as him looked out the window at her mother.
(Cue: Eight Years in the Making For John Paesano)
"Damnatio Kira, you messed with the wrong superhero." Asta said as he put on his mask.
The Amazing Spider-Man had sprung into action.
While the hero was swinging through the city at night, Kira was trying to cover up the murder of Mr. Big and was trying to turn all means against Spider-Man so that he could be arrested once and for all.
"I'm sure the spider will be here again, reinforce security and if you see him don't hesitate to kill him. I won't let that ignorant kid keep messing with me." Damnatio told his henchmen.
Spider-Man made it to the server room and saw that the security guard was distracted so he crept up to him and tapped him on the shoulder to get his attention.
"Sorry, I'm looking for a rematch." Spider-Man said to the security guard as he got his attention, the next second he slammed him into one of the monitors.
"What? What are you doing here?" another security guard asked to the hero.
"Hey, this is not what it looks like... Well, I'm infiltrating here to steal the footage from the mainframe to get Damny arrested, so... It's definitely what it looks like." Spider-Man said sarcastically as he dodged the security guard's shot.
Spider-Man managed to dodge the shot and knock out the guard, but the shot had hit the electrical network of the building so now it was in complete darkness, Spidey knew that this would draw the attention of Damnatio so he had to find the recordings and leave immediately, after a few seconds of searching the hero managed to find the central server so using his super strength he managed to break the security door that blocked it.
Spider-Man found the USB sticks with the security recordings, after reviewing them he saw that there was a total of 10 years worth of recordings on them, if all the dirty business Damnatio had done over the years was here he was definitely going to be arrested.
"You are really amazing Noelle, if I survive this I will definitely reveal to you that I am Spider-Man." Asta thought as he put the memoirs in his backpack.
Just as he was about to leave the lights came back on and Spider-Man detected danger nearby, it was several of Damnatio's henchmen who had come to kill him.
"Everyone remember the boss's orders. Catch the spider, dead or alive!" a henchman said to the rest.
Spider-Man immediately shot his webs at his enemies to immobilize them, then he jumped against them to hit them, he shot one of them in the face and then pulled it to bring him closer to hit him in the jaw taking him to fly, against another he jumped on top of him and propelled himself with his webs to crush his stomach, another he wrapped him with his webs to throw him to the other side of the room and finally one he kicked him very hard in the back of the neck.
"We need reinforcements before..." a henchman tried to say before Spider-Man shot webbing in his mouth to shut him up and propelled himself with his webbing to knee him in the face.
"Alright you fools now if any of you are not unconscious listen up: Kira is over, if you want to have a little bit of your dignity you will take your incredibly stupid asses to the police and tell everything you know about him, because I will make sure he gets arrested anyway." Spider-Man told his enemies after defeating them.
(Stop Music)
"I did it, I won. Now I just have to take this with me and Damny will be arrested." Asta thought as he fled the scene.
Spidey made it to the exit but just as he was about to leave he detected danger behind him; he turned around and saw that it was Damnatio.
"I don't know what you think is going to happen, but there's no way I'm going to let you out of here alive, spider." Damnatio told Spider-Man while holding a scale and a sword.
"Okay, you don't know me, so you don't know why I'm doing this, so I promised myself that if I saw you again... I would tell you about it." Spider-Man said as he pulled some notes out of his backpack.
Damnatio prepared to attack.
"There are many things I wanted to tell you and I was afraid I would forget them, so I wrote them down to remember them and be able to tell you because they are very important to me, so here I go." Spidey said as he sorted through his notes.
"Say your last words, you little wretch." Damnatio told the hero sternly.
"You are so tall that your brain freezes and dehydrates from lack of oxygen." Spidey said.
Damnatio was surprised to hear that.
"No? Well, let's see this one: your hairstyle is so stupid that they had to send your hairdresser to quarantine to find out if his bad taste was contagious." Spidey said again.
Damnatio started to become furious when he heard how the hero insulted him.
"Ooh... you're tough. Okay, let's see this one: your clothes are so old-fashioned and tacky that it makes me forget how stupid your hairstyle looks." Spidey said one more time.
Damnatio could no longer bear the humiliation.
"Aaaaahhhh! You damn brat!" Damnatio shouted angrily as he lunged at Spider-Man.
"Wait, wait, let's see these others: your mole on your face looks like a spoiled olive, you have a face that all the mothers in the world couldn't love, your taste in decorating is so old-fashioned it exceeds your taste in fashion, which is saying a lot since as I told you your clothes are so ugly it makes me forget how stupid your hairstyle looks." Spidey finished while dodging Damnatio's attacks.
Damnatio, full of rage, tried to cut Spider-Man with his sword, but the hero managed to remove it with his webs and managed to dodge all his blows without much difficulty.
"You know? You're pretty easy to control when you don't do any of your dirty tricks like yesterday when you electrocuted me, now I see that besides being mean, selfish and with a bad taste in personal image you're a coward." Spider-Man said to his enemy.
"I'm going to kill you, you stupid insect kid." Damnatio said as he tried to hit Spider-Man.
"Then let me try this last one: you're such an arrogant badass that you think you can run roughshod over everyone in town, but you're just a common criminal. You sent a madman to attack an innocent young girl, you declared innocent many murderers, thieves and criminals, you allied yourself with a terrorist group that threatens my home and all that you have done in the name of justice, but in reality you have done it all for you." Spider-Man said as he continued to dodge Damnatio's blows with ease.
After getting Damnatio up against the wall, Spider-Man slammed his hands into the wall with his webbing and left him completely immobilized.
"But here's the thing: as much as I hate you and you give me goosebumps, I'm not here to fight you. Any idiot could do that. I have something much better planned." The hero said as he pointed his web at Damnatio's eyes.
"AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!" Damnatio screamed after the hero blinded him with his webs.
After the webs dissolved after an hour, Damnatio saw that Spider-Man had managed to escape from the building.
"It can't be... That idiot... Has defeated me..." Damnatio said as he fell to his knees, humiliated by his defeat at the hands of Spider-Man.
Meanwhile with Asta, after obtaining the footage and defeating Damnatio, he began to search for evidence in a laptop computer that he had taken from Damnatio's office, he identified the video of when Damnatio removed his mask and when Noelle entered his office, so he destroyed both videos and preserved all the others, including the footage of when Damnatio killed Mr. Big.
"All right, now all that's left is to leave this in good hands and I know the best hands to leave them in." Asta said as he put his mask back on and headed for Noelle's house.
Noelle was trying to sleep, until she heard a sound coming from her window so she went to check.
She was surprised to see a box full of flash drives and with it came a letter.
I know you will know what to do with this; it is from your friend.

"Spidey delivered this to me on behalf of Asta? I didn't think Asta knew him, but that means that... Asta made it! He got the evidence against Kira." Noelle thought happily.
Now that Noelle had the evidence, tomorrow she was going to give it to Nozel so he could arrest Damnatio, trusting her brother was the only thing she could do for now.
"Both Asta and Spidey trust me, I will not fail them." Noelle thought with determination.
The next day the truth came out; Damnatio Kira had abused his power as a judge for many years and had murdered a man and framed Spider-Man for it, so he would be sentenced to life imprisonment along with his henchmen.
All the criminals whom Damnatio had declared innocent would be re-imprisoned and tried again by more reliable judges.
In jail, Damnatio was sitting while thinking about Spider-Man.
"I know your face but I don't know your name or who you are, but I do know this; the next time we meet I will destroy you with all my might, Spider-Man." Damnatio said, vowing revenge against Spider-Man.
Sometime later at Asta's house, he and Noelle were in his room so that Asta could reveal his secret to Noelle.
"I... I have to tell you something, Noelle." Asta said noticeably nervous.
"Okay." Noelle said smiling.
"What I will tell you is very important." Asta said quite nervously.
"Okay." Noelle said again as she continued to smile.
"And you have to promise me that you won't tell anyone, not even your older brother... rather, especially your older brother." Asta said even more nervous than before.
"Oookay?" Noelle said confused.
"What I am going to entrust you with is knowledge that no one else besides me knows, knowledge is a great power and with great power comes great responsibility and today I, Asta Staria, entrust you, Noelle Silva with that great responsibility as only you can be trusted for this since you..." Asta said in a futile attempt to delay the inevitable.
"Will you stop playing dumb and tell me what you want to tell me for once and for all, Bakasta?!" Noelle shouted at Asta with a very obvious tone of irritation, causing Asta to cringe in fright.
"Okay, okay, sorry for rambling so much…" Asta said a little startled by Noelle's scream.
The hero looked at Noelle with enormous determination.
"I am Spider-Man." Asta finally said.
Noelle was silent for a few seconds after hearing this.
"What?" Noelle asked.
"You heard me, I am Spider-Man." Asta said again.
"Are you Spider-Man?" Noelle asked one more time.
"That's right." Asta said.
"The superhero? The one in the red and black suit?" Noelle asked again.
"Yes." Asta confirms.
A few seconds passed... until Noelle began to laugh.
"Hahahahaha! Oh, Asta! Hahahaha!" Noelle said as she laughed in disbelief at what Asta had just told her.
The hero's jaw dropped and his eye twitched as he watched in disbelief as his best friend didn't believe him.
A few minutes later (for Asta it felt like hours).
"This is a thousand times worse than in my fantasy." Asta thought aloud as he watched Noelle continue to laugh.
"Hahahaha… God, how funny. All right, Asta, what was it that you really wanted to tell me?" Noelle said after she finished laughing.
Asta's eye twitched, while he was quite offended.
"I knew I would have to do this." Asta said in a resigned tone as he pulled out his web-shoters.
Immediately Asta jumped to the roof and stuck there, then moved between the walls like a spider and finally shot his nets to the roof to hold on to them.
"I repeat, Noelle. Your best friend is… The Amazing Spider-Man!" The hero declared as he jumped back to the ground.
Noelle's jaw dropped in shock (and she felt like her brain had just exploded).
"Y-you... y-you... are... Spider-Man..." Noelle said in complete disbelief.
"The unique and incomparable." Asta said as he smiled confidently.
"You are Spider-Man…" Noelle said as she began to smile with excitement.
"Yep." Asta said.
"Oh my God, my best friend is The Amazing Sp-!" Noelle screamed before Asta quickly covered her mouth.
"Yes, I'm Spider-Man, but don't tell anyone." Asta said before releasing Noelle's mouth.
"Asta... You are a superhero, but how?" Noelle asked.
"In short, a strange spider bit me and somehow gave me powers." Asta said.
"A spider? What kind of spider gives you powers when it bites you? How did that work? Normally when a spider bites you, it's deadly." Noelle asked.
"I don't know, but I did feel like I was about to die when the spider bit me, but somehow I survived and well... Now I'm a superhero." Asta said.
"Wow, that's great, I always knew you were destined for greatness... But wait... That means my brother almost killed you..." Noelle said frightened as she remembered when Nozel shot Spider-Man.
"Yes... ehhh... I don't like to remember that moment, that day I almost went crazy when I saw you in the middle of my fight against Miss Fire Sun and when your brother shot me and..." Asta said before being interrupted by Noelle.
"Yes... you're right, it's better not to remember that." Noelle said.
"Yes, Miss Fire Sun has been my toughest opponent so far, Damnatio only beat me the first time because she cheated." Asta explained.
"Now that you mention it, that time I saw Spider-Man badly wounded, almost on the verge of death. Have you ever seen yourself in that situation?" Noelle asked fearfully.
"Only when I fight villains with super powers like Miss Fire Sun, the rest I have managed to control very well." Asta said.
"And where is your suit?" Noelle asked.
"It's right here." Asta said as he showed his suit to Noelle.
"That's awesome Asta, I honestly thought you were going to tell me you were in love with me but this is pretty cool too." Noelle said without realizing what she had just said because of the excitement of knowing that Asta was Spider-Man.
"How nice that you finally realiz- Wait, what was the last thing you said?" Asta said before detecting danger, but did not react in time Noelle ended up slapping him in the face.
"N-nothing. I didn't say anything, just that it's cool that you're Spider-Man." Noelle said blushing after slapping Asta for the embarrassment she felt.
"Anyway, that's what happened to me recently, I think I should have told you from the beginning." Asta said as he rubbed his sore cheek.
"Well, it's understandable that you kept it a secret, lest someone like Kira find out your secret identity and endanger your mother and brother." Noelle said.
"Also did it to protect you, but I saw that I underestimated you, I should have trusted you more." Asta said ruefully.
"You don't have to worry; everyone would hesitate to reveal such a big secret." Noelle said as she patted Asta on the back.
The two friends continued talking for hours until it got late.
"Well, I know you have to go now but... maybe I could take you home." Asta said while smiling with amusement.
"Are you suggesting we walk to my house together?" Noelle asked with a blush.
"No." Asta said while smiling.
A few minutes later, on the roof of Asta's house.

"Are you ready, Noelle?" Spider-Man asked.
"I was born ready." Noelle said.
At that moment, Noelle grabbed tightly to Spider-Man's shoulder blade and then the hero together with her launched into the air so that they could swing through the city.
Asta, for the first time since he put on his suit felt free of lies and deceit, even though he had only revealed his secret to one person, that person was his best friend who he could always count on and that made him feel good, maybe someday he could finally reveal the truth to his mother and his brother too, but for now it was enough to count on Noelle.
For her part, Noelle was happy that Asta had trusted her with his deepest secret, she was proud of him as she always knew he would be someone amazing from the day they became friends and she would do everything she could to help him in his new life as a superhero as he was not only her favorite hero, he was also the guy she was in love with, her best friend.
"WOOOOOO HOOOOOOO!" Spider-Man and Noelle shouted as they swung.
"Watch out criminals! Here comes Asta Staria! The Ultimate Spider-Man!" Noelle shouted as she hugged the hero.

Licht was looking down on the city from the legania with hatred and rage.
"So you beat Kira... I think I underestimated the protector of this city, I won't do it again." Licht said as he planned how to defeat Spider-Man.
