I'M BACK!
I'm glad this was well received. I'll admit, writing one-shots is its own kind of challenge, but one that's not too bad. Also, this will be the first chapter written with help from my friend.
Before we start, I'd like to point out that the Gremory Peerage here is from before Season 1. Meaning Issei has not joined yet. So, there are only 4 members. Just something to keep in mind.
Also, I'll admit I have not watched Agito myself. Meaning that my knowledge of the series, especially regarding the antagonists, the Lords, is limited to a quick look at the Wiki. Still, I hope you can enjoy this for what it is!
I do not own High School DxD or Kamen Rider.
Agito
It was a seemingly normal night. Everything was quiet as the citizens of Kuoh were either already asleep or falling asleep. At least, that's what people thought. In reality, 4 young Devils were getting ready to fight a Stray Devil that had recently arrived in Kuoh and started kidnapping and eating people. So, in a way, it still was a normal night, depending on who you asked.
So, the four young devils lead by Rias Gremory headed into the warehouse where the magical trace lead them. What they found was a bit different from what they usually encountered. Most stray devils had several human features still left. For this one, the most human-like feature it had was its body structure. Honestly, the best way to describe it would be a sort of human-like grasshopper monster that walked right out of a creature film.
Its moves certainly matched its appearance with incredible jumping power as it tried to leave the warehouse. But it was unable to escape as blasts of thunder magic shot forward, blocking its escape paths. The stray devil growled at them, and crouched down, clearly getting ready for a fight.
"You know," Kiba spoke up as he prepared his sword. "I wonder if that's what Jeff Goldblum would look like if it was a grasshopper instead of a fly."
"I didn't think you were a fan of American cinema." Rias chuckled, red energy gathering in her hands.
"It was for an extra credit assignment. And I wanted to watch something that wasn't from your collection."
"There is nothing wrong with watching anime or Japanese Dramas as a form of peerage bonding."
That's when the Stray charges at them, claws extended and ready to strike. But they were deflected by Kiba's blade. The Knight then ran literal circles around it, making small strikes with his sword repeatedly. The Stray kept on trying to fight back, but that left it open for Koneko to jump in and land a punch that sent it flying into the wall.
"Perfect." Rias smirked, stepping forward and gathering her black and red Power of Destruction in her hands. "Now foul Stray Devil. You shall face judgement for your selfish actions."
However, Rias was not the one to deliver the finishing blow.
With no warning, a clawed hand burst through the wall behind the Stray, grabbed it by the head, and pulled it through to the other side, shocking all of them so much that Rias's energy dissipated. They heard a cry of terror and pain, cut short by a crushing sound. All of this put the young devils on their guard, especially when they started to hear footsteps coming back towards them.
Out of the hole in the wall came a tall Jaguar-like creature standing on two legs. What was bizarre, even to the Devils, was that the creature was wearing a red scarf, a belt, and sandals. On top of that, it did not feel like any sort of Stray Devil they had met before. Rather, this creature felt older, and somehow dangerous to them.
"What on earth?" Kiba asked, holding his sword in front of him.
"I don't think this is another stray." Akeno replied. Rias stepped forward and called out to the creature.
"I am Rias Gremory, heir to the Gremory Clan of the Underworld. Identify yourself and your reason for being in my territory!"
The Jaguar-like creature released a snarl from its mouth, followed by some words.
"Arrogant abomination."
To the surprise of the 4 devils, they could not understand what he was saying, yet still felt a chill down their spine.
"We can't understand it?! How is that possible!" Rias cried out.
"It must be even more ancient than the devils magic." Akeno proposed.
"Whatever he said, pretty sure it was a threat." Koneko added, fists at the ready. However, she was not able to react to the creature jumping and landing right next to her. Before she could swing her fists, it grabbed her by her hair and threw her across the warehouse into a wall.
"Koneko!" Her comrades cried out.
"How dare you!" Kiba shouted, dashing forward with his fire and ice swords.
The Jaguar-like creature jumped over Kiba's head and beelined for Akeno. She retaliated by firing off a blast of Thunder magic. However, the creature dodged to the side at the last second, causing it to hit Kiba who had tried to attack from behind, greatly damaging the Knight.
"Oh no! Apologies Kiba!" Akeno cried out, right before she was punched in the gut by the creature taking advantage of her distracted state of mind. Furthermore, she could feel a sort of burning sensation from where she was hit. That could only mean...
"You bastard!" Kiba yelled as forced himself to dash forward through the pain and landed a few strikes on the creature. However, they did not seem to affect it much. It just left him open to getting his arms graved and headbutted, sending him to the ground, dazed and unable to stand.
"How dare you!" Rias shouted, radiating red demonic energy that was gathering in her hands. "Burn in the fires of Oblivion!" She cried out as she fired the collected energy as a great beam of pure destructive energy. However, the Jaguar like creature gathered all its strength in its legs and leaped all the way to the ceiling, avoiding the blast. It then kicked off the ceiling towards Rias, clotheslining her and knocking her to the ground. She tried to get back to her feet, but the creature did not give her a chance. It did not even let her speak as it brought its foot down on her stomach over and over, the others struggling to get to their feet.
All of a sudden, they all heard footsteps so loud they echoed across the whole building. It was clear from the way they were getting louder and louder that whoever it was they were heading right for them causing the jaguar-like creature to look up. That was when everyone saw teenage Japanese boy, who also happened to be wearing the Kuoh Uniform walk in, a strange look on his face.
Rias took as good a look as she could from her position on the ground. "I-is that?"
"Issei Hyoudou, the school perv." Koneko grunted in confirmation. "But why-" before she could say anything else, she fell onto all fours, the attack from before hurting much more than she realized.
"There's something about this creature." Kiba gasped. "It's as if it's attacks are..."
"Indeed." Akeno managed to say, struggling to get to her feet. "It's using Holy energy." Her comrades instantly believed her. Knowing her heritage, she would definitely recognize Holy Energy. "But this is not the kind the Fallen, or even Angel's use. It's as if it is...raw..."
Now this threw up alarm bells for the other devils. The way she described it was unfamiliar to them. At the same time, the message was clear that this creature was very dangerous, especially to them. But for a normal human, it was guaranteed death sentence.
"R-run." Rias manages to say. "Get out of here." She begs Issei. But for some reason, it's like he did not hear her. In fact, he gave the creature a look. And then...
"Lord." he said, as if spitting the word out. And for some reason, this got a reaction out of the Jaguar like creature. It took its foot off Rias, and stepped towards Issei, speaking that strange language again. But to everyone's surprise, Issei responded in the same language!
While they were too shocked by this to even try to figure out what he was saying, the other students could tell from his tone that he was threatening the monster! Especially since the Jaguar creature seemed to growl at his words as if he was offended by them.
That's when Issei moved his hands in a diagonal direction, and energy swirled around his waist until the energy began to solidify until it became a belt. Its overall appearance was Black with silver Metallic accents, but the most prominent feature of the belt was the Golden pattern in the front as well as the giant yellow gem in the middle. Needless to say, the sudden appearance of the clearly magical artifact left the ORC dumbfounded, especially since it was radiating energy that also seemed Holy, yet subdued. And it started giving off a sort of loud humming sound, one that put the monster on edge. Issei brought his right hand forward in a sort of pose, and then called out.
"HENSHIN." He then brought his hands down to the sides of it and hit the buttons on there. His entire body was covered in light that made everyone in the room look away.
When the light finally died down where Issei once stood was now a being dressed in armor. He wore a black body suit with gold armor pieces on his forearms and legs. He had an armored chest piece that had a gold and white pattern with some black in the middle. The shoulders were covered by black pauldrons that had silver curved spikes, the helmet had big red bug-like eyes, a silver mouth surrounded by a gold circle, and golden horns.
The ORC could only stare wide eyed at what they had just witnessed, where their classmate stood was now a warrior with magic they hadn't seen or heard of before.
"What is that! Is it some kind of Sacred Gear?" Kiba asked. Taking this brief lap in the creatures' movements to push himself up and regain his footing. He was hurt but he still had a duty to uphold.
"I don't know? But his power he's radiating a Holy Aura like that of the creature, but it feels…different." said Akeno. True to her words there was a similarity between the creature and Issei Hyoudou's power but there was a significant difference between them, but she could put her finger on it.
"Warm" said Koneko getting everyone's attention
"What was that, Koneko?" Asked Rias.
"His light feels Warm, its different from the Jaguar-things light that hit us. It feels like...he wants to protect us" she said finally able to stand up.
Rias looked back at the transformed Issei Hyoudou, true that his sudden powers are surprising especially since she never sensed any form of magic from him before. But Koneko like said, he hadn't made a move against them, his focus solely on the Jaguar Monster. For now, she will see how this plays out, and if he is also hostile, she'll have to take a chance and have her peerage flee, they're too injured to handle another battle.
Agito just stood there staring at the monster he called Lord until finally he began to march towards it. The Lord itself took a cautious backstep but still maintained the same authoritative stance it had when facing the Gremory peerage.
"Agito, so you finally show yourself. You have slain many of my righteous brothers and sisters. But today the world will hear the sound of your screams!" the Panther lord roars, though only Issei could understand, as it begins sprinting towards Agito arms wide claws ready to shred the Golden Warrior to pieces. But Agito kept on marching undeterred by the Lord's threat and blood lust
"Look out!" Yelled Rias as the Panther Lord was mere feet away from Agito.
But when the Lords claws swung downwards Agito ducks and performs a spinning heel kick intercepting the arms and throwing off the Panther Lords center of gravity causing him to tumble to the side in a heap. The ORC where shocked, not just because of how easily he knocked the Lord over, but the reaction time and speed Agito possessed.
The Lord got back to its feet and with a roar of rage charged at Agito who this time sprinted towards the Lord. The two sent a punch against one another, the impact causing a massive collision of Golden energy. The wind kicked up from the collision made the devils shield their faces. Even so, they could tell that this warrior Issei had become, Agito, had the upper hand. Each strike pushed the monster further back, often stumbling. Soon, it was unable to do anything but try to block the attacks. However, this just gave Agito the opening to do a leg sweep that knocked it off its feet, making it vulnerable to strikes at vital spots.
All while this was happening, the Gremory devils managed to pull themselves to their feet and get closer to each other, the monster's attention obviously taken off them. As they started using some healing magic, they kept their eyes on the fight, watching as things progressed.
"Strange." Koneko spoke up. "Never sensed any holy aura from him at school."
"If I had to guess," Akeno replied. "The belt must have something to do with that. Most likely it's the source."
"It did seem to be the key to the transformation." Kiba agreed.
"And it's helping him keep up with the monster." Rias added. "But we should pay close attention. If he chooses to attack us, our best option is to retreat.
At this point, Issei grabbed the monster by its own claws, and tossed the entire creature through the wall. They struggled to their feet, glaring at him. While they still could not understand what it was saying, the way it spoke made it clear it was cursing out Agito. However, the strange words seemed to fall on deaf ears as Agito just stepped forward. And then, the air around him seemed to change when the horns on his helmet opened, revealing more horns that looked draconic.
As he took a step forward, a symbol glowed underneath him, the symbol itself reminiscent of Agito's own helmet. Getting into a low stance the symbol swirled around him before being absorbed into his feet as his body began to shine with a brilliant golden light. The Devils didn't know what was about to happen, but they could feel the energy Agito was radiating as it caused the very air to vibrate around him.
When the Jaguar monster got back to its feet, Agito jumped into the air, legs extended as he released a battle cry. The monster turned to face him, and the kick landed on its chest and sent it flying backwards once more. At first it seemed like nothing had happened. However, as Agio turned his back on the creature, the loud sound of a crack could be heard. And it was coming from the creature as its skin began breaking apart. At the same time, a circle of light appeared above its head. It was similar to a halo, but it was more like a disc of light rather than a ring.
The creature gave out one last cry of hatred, before being consumed in an explosion of light, and Agito turned to face the ashes, his horns returning to their previous state.
The teenage devils could only stand and watch in amazement at the sight before them. No words left their lips. But they did take in a quick breath as the warrior now turned to face them.
The four of them seemed to hold their breath, waiting to see what would happen. The gold-colored warrior tilted its head, as if looking at them in curiosity. Then, he just turned around and walked away. It wasn't until he had left the room that the devils let out sighs of relief.
As they caught their breath, they heard a motorcycle. Concerned that it was some human bystander, they made their way as quickly as they could to the warehouse door, planning to stop them and use magic on their memory. To their surprise, they instead say Issei, still in his Agito armor, on top of a red motorcycle with gold accents. He revved the engine a few times before speeding off, leaving them with even more questions.
"You know, as a guy I can't help but wonder where he got a ride like that." Kiba said, breaking the silence.
Okay.
This took such a long time. But I finally got this done!
I have to thank my good friend I have made for like a year now. We have had such a good time talking about DxD stories and stuff, that it has helped me with my creativity. On top of that, he not only helped me plan this chapter, but he also helped with the writing itself! He has asked to stay anonymous, and I will respect that.
