Waking slowly Olivia sighed, despite her Nightmare she actually managed to get back to sleep and stay asleep wrapped in his arms Stretching out she felt the bed next to her, it felt cold and empty. Opening her eyes she looked around trying to see where he was. Sliding from the covers she pulled her robe off the door.
Walking into the living room she smiled seeing Elliot in the kitchen, walking up behind him she wrapped her arms around his waist
"Morning" she smiled, kissing his shoulder. "You were up early"
"I was going to bring you breakfast in bed," he said, turning to face her.
"Well I am up now" she smiled "what is for breakfast?" she asked
"Waffles" he said "with fruit before you say Noah needs a healthy breakfast" he grins
"Waffles are perfect. Although chocolate chips are better" she smiled reaching behind him pulling a container of chocolate chips from the cupboard.
"Chocolate chips it is. With Strawberries?" he asked
"Perfect" she smiled, pouring herself a coffee from the Cafetiere that was on the side. "I'll go see if Noah is up"
"Wait a bit" Elliot whispered, taking her hand pulling her in "it's still early enjoy your coffee first" he said snaking his arm around her waist.
Looking up she could feel herself getting lost in his eyes wishing she could stay wrapped up in his arms. Her phone buzzing on the side alerting her to an incoming text message broke the spell between them. Picking it up she sighed frustratedly as she read the message
"Everything alright?" Elliot asked
"Not really. Its from McGrath, he wants me at Comp-Stat at 9am" she sighed
" it can't be that bad?. Can it?" he asked
"Depends." she sighed "he has already read me the riot act with how long this case is taking. Saying we should have had our suspect in court yesterday. I guess this is just another way to make me feel inadequate. I need a shower and to get dressed." she said walking back towards the bedroom.
Scraping her hair back into a low bun she pinned any stray hairs back with some grips before pulling her uniform on. Heading back out into the kitchen she sighed, grabbing the coffee pot refilling her mug. She smiled watching Noah tucking in to his waffle, chocolate syrup round his mouth
"Do you want syrup on your waffle?" Elliot asked, placing a plate on the counter.
" I don't think I can eat," she said softly.
"You have been to comp-stat meetings before"
"Yeah and they all went swimmingly. Not." she said
"You will be fine" Elliot Smiled, pulling her into his arms kissing the top of her head. "But you need to eat. You can not survive on coffee alone" he said
"Fine," Liv smiled, sitting down, cutting into the waffle placed in front of her. "No syrup. I'm sweet enough" she forced herself to smile
Nibbling on the waffle just to make Elliot feel better she forced herself to swallow. She didn't really feel like eating, her stomach was doing backflips and twisting into knots.
"Are you okay Mum?" Noah asked
"I'm fine sweetheart just got a few things on at work" she forced a smile. "Anyway you need to get ready for school"
"Okay mum" Noah said jumping down from his seat
"And don't forget to brush your teeth" she smiled
"Yes mum" Noah said running down the hall towards the main bathroom.
"You finished?" Elliot asked, looking at the half finished waffle on her plate.
"Yeah" she said, pushing the plate away from her. "Thank you" she smiled
"Come here" Elliot said softly
"El! I am fine" she sighed as he took her hand pulling her closer
"I know," he said, twisting a stray strand of hair around his finger. "How about I take you out for lunch when you are finished at comp-stat."
"I would love that" she smiled "I best get going" she said picking up her bag and her cap.
Walking into the conference room Olivia removed her cap tucking it under her arm.
"Captain Benson" McGrath Smiled
"Chief" she forced herself to smile.
"Well we are ready for you."
"Of course you are," she muttered under her breath.
Pulling her I-pad from her bag she took her place at the podium waiting to be grilled.
"Captain Benson" McGrath began. "These 6 murders…"
"5 Murders." Oliver interjected
"Excuse me?" McGrath looked up
"5 murders, the 6th victim is currently in a coma at mercy" she said
"Right fine 5 murders" McGrath rolled his eyes , "where are you, with finding the person who did this."
"We are working towards that. We know that all the girls were on a chat room site to talk about Juilliard, the summer programs and audition process, and campus life. We are currently running through all the chats to see if there is a person they all interacted with. So far all the girls were in different areas of the arts. We are also waiting on the doctors to say when we can talk to Kiera Smith, the 6th victim." she said
"So nowhere" McGrath said "Manhattan SVU have had this Case for over 2 months and have made no progress. Do you think it is time it was handed over to Homicide who have more experience in this area"
"I have confidence in my team that we can close this. It just takes time in gathering all the evidence"
"Thank you Captain Benson" The commissioner said. "I think we have heard all we need. We will review this in a fortnight if no progress has been made."
Stepping down from the podium Olivia sighed with relief she was glad that the brass seemed to be happy with the progress of the case even if McGrath was not.
Sitting in her car she chucked her bag on the passenger seat along with her cap before she pulled the pins from her hair releasing it from the bun. Pulling her the elastic holding her hair in place she ran her fingers through trying to relieve some of the tension caused by having her hair scraped back in a tight bun.
Her phone rang loudly through the car's Bluetooth system looking at the caller ID displayed on the dash she smiled pressing the answer button.
"Fin" she said as she pulled off "whats up?" she asked
"Was just checking in Elliot mentioned you were at Comp-stat this morning"
"Yeah I just got out. McGrath is still not happy but the Commissioner seems to be alright with where we are at the moment. I am on my way in but i might stop back home and change" she said
"Okay see you soon"
"Thanks Fin" she said, hanging up.
She arrived at the precinct an hour later having changed into a pair of dark jeans and a black t-shirt along with her leather jacket. She had also picked up a box of Krispy kreme doughnuts as she knew sweet treats were a huge motivation and she really needed a sugar boost.
As soon as she had put the box on the desk Velasco had made a beeline for it pulling out one of the original glazed doughnuts.
"Thanks boss" he smiled, taking a huge bite out of the doughnut.
"So have we managed to get access to Kiera's accounts on the juilliard chat rooms?" she asked
"Still waiting on TARAU but they did send over her movements from the last 3 days which is when she arrived in the City. a few typical touristy destinations; times square, Statue of Liberty, Macy's, Broadway and central park" Amanda said "nothing out of what to expect from a teenager on their first solo trip to the big city"
"Right. Well get back to them to see if they can speed things up. McGrath is on our asses and wants to send this over to Homerside North. The commissioner has given us two weeks and he will review it"
"I will get on to them" Amanda said picking up her phone
"Oh and is there any word from the hospital?" she said
"Not yet. Her parents arrived last night but I have not spoken to them yet. I thought I would let them spend time with their daughter. You know just in case" Amanda replied
Heading into the break room she grabbed her favourite mug. It had been one Elliot had given her. It was an extra large mug with his face printed on and where his mouth sat was a gap for a cookie or a sweet treat. Pouring herself a cup of coffee she grabbed one of the doughnuts she had brought before Velasco scoffed them.
"You alright?" Fin asked walking in behind her
"I will be" she forced a smile "once we catch this guy" she sighed walking through into her office. "And once I have sorted all this paperwork"
"I will leave you to it" Fin said
"Thanks Fin" she smiled as he walked out, shutting the door behind him.
Leaning back in her seat she sighed despite pulling her hair from the bun she had in earlier she still had developed a headache most likely from the stress. She just hoped they would be able to make a breakthrough. Their subpoenas had proven useful in one sense in giving them the names of the residents of the building but with over 50 names and the computer in question being in a public space it meant it could be any number of the names, they just needed to find the one linked to the accounts sending the messages but they didn't want to go too quickly without speaking to their only alive victim if they ever could.
sorry its been a while but with notifications going down and everything i sort of lost it a bit. i am hoping to update again soon and thank you for the reviews it means a lot for this being my first fic in this fandom
