Third Person pov
The next few days went by much the same as Percy's first day at the Hostess of Fertility. The only difference is Estelle has more people to fawn over her. Anya is always giving her new toys. Chloe takes time out of her breaks to color and draw with her. Lunoire and May are more reserved, but are quickly warming up to Estelle and her brother Percy. Syr clearly adores Estelle, if the way she's always being pried off the poor girl says anything. Mama Mia is more like their mother than Percy initially thought, which isn't a bad thing. But Percy is definitely feeling more and more homesick because of it. At least it seems to be helping Estelle.
As for Ryuu, well Estelle has grown a clear attachment to her, if Percy isn't around then she's often seen by Ryuu's side holding her hand. Often whispering stuff in her ear causing Ryuu to smile lightly more often than not, and often being the one to make food for her.
Percy and Ryuu have gotten closer, it only makes sense given how close Estelle has gotten to Ryuu, they weren't friends quite yet, but she was the closest thing Percy had to one here, and it wouldn't be long before a true friendship was formed. Ryuu often took it upon herself to get stuff that Estelle would need, and help Percy on his shopping trips to get Estelle and sometimes himself, clothes.
Percy got along with everyone greatly even if to a lesser extent, Syr was a bit odd, but probably the person he was closest to after Ryuu and Mama Mia, and his sister Estelle of course. But things of course didn't stay that way, and this night was when things were truly going to start to change.
LINEBREAK: 3 DAYS LATER NIGHTIME.
FIRST PERSON POV: PERCY
I was on my way back to the Hostess of Fertility, after going to get more clothes for Estelle. Ryuu had volunteered to look after her as I did, she's been a real life saver lately. Maybe I should get her something, because these constant thank yous are clearly starting to annoy her and they don't seem genuine enough for what she's doing, but that's later mes decision.
"Well, it's good to be out of that uniform again, but I have to admit, it's kind of growing on me." I was talking to myself again, this time it was just to get rid of the silence. It was dark outside by now and due to that, it was quiet. Or at least it should have been, because just then I heard some laughing. Not the jovial kind either, the type of cruel laugh someone might have if they were bullying another person. Well I had nothing better to do, I may as well check it out.
LINEBREAK THIRD PERSON POV
Liliruca Arde could be seen being thrown and hit around by members of her Familia, the Soma Family. They tool her money again, and were about to kick her down the stairs when someone made themselves known. "Hey! Give her the money back and scram."
He was a young man of about six feet in height, with tan skin, sea green eyes, black hair with a white streak running through it, and a stormy voice. He wore a pink t-shirt which showed his tanned arms, lean muscle riddled with scars, and great definition with an SPQR tattoo with a trident and three bars underneath it. A pair of black pants, and some plain white sneakers, he had a bag in one hand, and a small pink supporter pack slung over one shoulder.
At first glance he didn't exactly look threatening, but if one were to attempt looking unto his eyes. You wouldn't see a man in them. You would see an apex predator looking at it's prey, which had his mercy in their hands.
Tonight's prey had some sense. They gave Lili her money back, and ran as fast as they could in the opposite direction of the beast before them.
FIRST PERSON POV: LILI
I watched as the members if my Familia ran off, before turning to look at the man that had helped me. He was the same one that was with the elf girl who intervened when Master Bell had saved me. I got a better look at him now, he looked completely different from a few seconds ago, he had a smile with eyes that matched.
He held out his hand as he looked down at me. "Well, are you planning on getting up. Or are you going to lay down on the cold dirty ground a while longer?" I immediately grasped his arm as he hauled me up.
I heard a chuckle and looked back up at him. "Yeah, I figured as much. You should get going tho, it's clearly not very safe for you at this time of night." He seemed to genuinely care about my well-being too.
My brows furrowed, what about you? They won't take kindly to that. "Don't worry about me, I can take care of myself. Now go." I nodded and went to run off, when he said one last thing.
"Oh, and stop by the Hostess of Fertility sometime, some food would do you good."
With that he turned around and went on his way, whistling a tune I hadn't ever heard before.
LINEBREAK: THIRD PERSON POV
As Percy made his way back to the Hostess of Fertility he came across an Alopekis puppy on the streets, it was basically skin and bones. Clearly needed food and water. He sighed, doing this would undoubtedly cause trouble of some sort, of which kind he wasn't quite sure yet, but he knew he couldn't just leave it there, besides. It took care of one problem he was having, finding it made his choice clear enough. So he picked it up and put it inside his shirt, and carried on his way to the Hostess of Fertility.
The rest of the walk was spent petting the puppy as it slept, and when there was only about a minute and a half until he got there it woke up and started whining. He couldn't have that, so he conjured some moisture out of the air so that it would drink the water instead.
As he walked into the tavern, Mama Mia looked up from where she was, at the bar. She saw the puppy and gave a sigh, but there was a slight upturn of her lips, so he figured she wasn't too annoyed by the new guest.
He decided he should explain things to her, of course after doing so she teased him relentlessly for five minutes until he finally asked the question that had been on his mind since he picked the puppy up. "Is there some potion I could use to get this puppy up to one hundred percent?"
She looked saddened, and I knew the answer before she even told me. "I haven't come across one yet, nor someone who could make one. Sorry boy, but I'm sure that dog will make a full recovery."
I nodded, I had something I'm mind if that was the case. But the poor dog was going to hurt a lot before it got better. That reminds me, I don't even know it's gender. "Oh, I need to know your gender so I can give you a name."
I checked really quick, he was a boy. "Now I need a name for you, but what should it be." Riptide starting flashing in varying intervals, Morse codeā¦I smiled as I realized what she was suggesting. "Yanis it is, the blessing from Heaven." A Greek name for a Greek dog breed. One that fit him perfectly too.
Mama Mia definitely agreed. "It's a fine name for what will be a fine dog." Why don't you go up and head to bed, give that dog some of these leftovers before you do." I smiled and nodded as I headed up, and snapped my fingers manipulating the little bit of Mist that seeped through, and hid Yanis from view, as I summoned more water to keep him quiet.
Ryuu opened the door with a slight smile as I knocked. "She's asleep, has been for a little over five minutes." She took the grocery bag from me and started putting the clothes I got Estelle away in the closet.
As I set the supporters pack down I told her, "You don't need to do that you know. I can put her clothes away myself." she scoffed and gave me a look telling me she wasn't sure she believed me.
"Your closet says otherwise, I tidied that up for you while you were gone, by the way." my brow furrowed in confusion. "Thanks for that but, why were you in my closet?"
She froze for a second, before sighing and saying. "It was cold in here for some reason, I haven't found out why yet, I assume a hole needs to patched." I nodded still confused and she continued, "Your sister noticed and told me there was some old hoodies from a camp you went to that didn't fit you anymore, I went in there to grab one but got sidetracked and fixed up the mess that was your closet, I'm sorry."
Oh, that made sense. She must have meant the Camp Half-Blood hoodies, he kept all of them, and they just so happened to be one of the few things brought over that he didn't technically receive as a gift, mostly due to the fact Aphrodite had apparently magicked all his clothes away after he left the house to put into the magic satchel. He assumed it was so he always had a full wardrobe, and if the circumstances weren't as they were, he probably would have been annoyed. As it was, he had all his clothes and only needed to shop for clothes for Estelle.
"Don't worry about it, here you can keep this one. It was from when I was 14, it might be a bit big, but it's the best fit for you I have." I had went over to the closet and rustled through it a bit before grabbing the hoodie, it still had golden monster blood splattered across it, but other than that it was clean. That stuff was impossible to get out. As I handed it to her she gained a light dusting of pink on her cheeks.
"Oh, yeah sorry. I guess this isn't something peers typically do, how about I just give it to you as a thank you gift for all you've done to make this less awkward?" She gained a grateful smile and nodded as she put it on, almost a perfect fit, just an inch too long in the sleeves.
"Thank you, Percy. I should go now. Goodnight." She gave a small wave as she left. "Good night Ryuu."
As soon as the door closed I got to work, undoing the mist around Yanis, and controlling the fire water out of a flask, a gift from my uncle Hades, one I'm sure he meant to go unused. But the joke was on him. "This is going to hurt before it gets better Yanis, I'm sorry." I let it flow into his mouth, and he whimpered and thrashed a bit, before he started getting better rapidly, filling out in muscle and fat, hair growing back where it was ripped off, and an open wound near his left ear closing as if it was never there.
I got some rope from the closet, and ripped a piece of iron off of a cheap dagger that was in the closet, before using water to smooth it down and put his name into it with Riptide.
He looked much better, even if it was a shoddy tag and collar. I took my pillow from my bed and threw it on the floor next to him, which he promptly fell asleep on. Next is finding that hole.
It took five minutes, but I found it, underneath Estelle's bed by the headboard, after patching that up but shoving nails through a piece of wood covering it up, I decided I should head out to grab some stuff, after using my limited magical knowledge to out a ward on the windows in the room, and over the door.
TIMESKIP: MORNING THIRD PERSON POV
Percy had just entered the Hostess of Fertility, carrying groceries, a small bed, some animal toys, and a card. Not too far away Bell was on his way out, before deciding to help Percy carry the stuff he got over to the bar.
"Woah, what's all this for Mr. Percy?" A sigh escaped the lips of the son of the sea, he had a feeling that would be something that's going to stick for a while.
"It's just Percy, and this? Well I can't say since I don't want word getting out to the wrong person. But I'm sure you'll find out soon enough, thanks Bell." Of course he didn't think Bell would tell anyone, but the girls certainly gossiped a bit.
Bell understood, he may not know the others too well, but Syr definitely had told him of gossip she's heard. "Oh, well whatever it's for, good luck, by Mr. Percy!"
Another sigh, this one of defeat, "Yeah, you too Bell." Now he just needed to use these groceries to make some food, and write what he needed to on that card. "Well, let's get to it then."
~~~CHAPTER END~~~
