The kiss was passionate. Their lips synchronised with each other. She could still taste the ale on his lips. Fili cupped Vinya's waist and Vinya wrapped her arms around his neck bringing their mouths closer. Vinya gasped, but it quickly turned into a soft moan when Fili's tongue entered her mouth. Fili's tongue explored at crack and crevice in her mouth making sure to take his time. Vinya hand's got tangled in Fili's hair. Catching her by surprise, Vinya had to muffle a yelp as Fili brought her onto his lap. Everything seemed to move so fast for either one of them to comprehend. Before they could do anything, they heard the front door swing open. Both jolted apart snapping back to reality. Vinya quickly removed herself away from Fili, smoothing out her dress as quickly as she could.
She stood frozen unsure what to do. She looked at Fili making eye contact and Fili slowly got up from his seat off the bed. Time seemed to slow down and it wasn't until they heard Dis's laugh outside of the door that brought them out of their trance. Fili was the first one to take a step towards the door; making a move to be inconspicuous. He opened the door ready to greet his mother and uncle.
"There you guys are." Dis said "Where were you? The party just ended."
Fili smiled at his amad.
"We had to make sure Kili got home." He said.
Vinya walked behind Fili's steps. She gave a small smile to Thorin and Dis as she came into view. Still flustered from the kiss, she had no words to say at that moment. Thankfully Fili did.
"Vinya was feeling tired as well, so we decided to stay here afterwards. I apologise if we worried you amad."
"That's okay" Dis said smiling warmly at her eldest. "It is quite late I suppose. Both of you should have been in bed. Make sure to first wash-up." Fili and Vinya nodded in agreement. Both of them made their way to back to sleep, but Thorin called Fili.
"Not you Fili, I need to speak with you." Thorin said.
Vinya started to panic. 'what if father knows, but how would he know? ' Vinya thought. She knew her thoughts were irrational, but she couldn't help to think them
"Go on V, I'll see you later" Fili said giving her a peck on the cheek. Vinya managed to nod and said her goodnights.
Not ready to back to bed just yet, Vinya made her way into the bathroom. She took a deep breath to calm herself. She knew that realistically there was no way that Thorin and Dis could have known, but it still caused her to panic. Her thoughts raced back to the kiss. There were no words to describe what just had transpired between them. It was… breathtaking. To think it was Vinya's first kiss of her life. The way Fili kissed her made her feel in a way she could not think of. Vinya sighed and made her way back to bed.
Vinya froze as she saw Kili on the bed. How could they have been so stupid to forget Kili?! Especially since he was in the same room. Her thoughts raced back to earlier in the day. They had almost kissed. Was Kili actually messing with her? Vinya sighed and looked at the sleeping dwarf besides her and hoped to Mahal that the ale had made him deep into his slumber.
Vinya laid in bed, staring dumbly into the ceiling. After everything that happened tonight, her mind was not at rest. She had no idea how long she stared, but as time went on, Vinya noticed that Fili wasn't back yet. She furrowed her brows in confusion. What can Thorin and Fili be talking about? She knew that realistically whatever it was, she would be able to get it out of the blond hair dwarf, but curiosity got the best of her. Vinya slowly made her way out of bed and creeped towards the door.
She knew they were just right outside of the room. Placing her pointed ears up to the door, she tried to concentrate on listening.
"You must tell no one." She heard a gruff voice say.
"But uncle.."
"No Fili. I need your oath on this. This must be kept secret. No one, not even Vinya."
Vinya furrowed her brows upon hearing that. What on Mahal could Thorin and Fili be talking about?
"Fili in order for you to come on this quest, I need you to swear to me that you will not tell Vinya this. " Thorin continued. Vinya frowned. 'Fili wouldn't' she thought to herself.
There was a brief pause before she heard Fili talk again.
"I swear to you Thorin I will not tell Vinya. You have my word."
Vinya's heart sank upon hearing this. Her lips turned into a frown and her body still. Vinya took a deep breath realising that Fili, the same Fili she had kissed just a few hours ago, was intending to hide something big from her. They had never had anything to hide from each other and now? Vinya felt confused; she felt felt betrayed and hurt. Unable to hear no more, she forced herself away from the door and made her way back into bed.
If sleeping before was hard, she feared she would be unable to sleep all night. Trying to ignore the pang of hurt she felt when thinking about the conversation between Fili and Thorin; she focused more on one specific thing that was said.
