"You should go to bed." Branch said, watching as his wife rubbed her eyes. The Pop Queen was currently scrapbooking her plans for the week which was a lot.
"I'm not tired yet," Poppy responded, her speech slightly slurred. She yawned immediately afterwards, taking a moment to stretch out her arms above her head. "Besides, I want to get this done tonight."
"You'll have more time tomorrow," The teal troll reminded her, placing his hands on the back of the chair and leaning down to press a soft kiss to her cheek.
"I know," she said, another yawn escaping her lips.
Branch slid his arms under Poppy's legs and back to pick her up from her seat. She squirmed a little in protest, mumbling about how there wasn't much left on the pile. In actuality, a quarter of the stack had yet to be completed.
"It's getting late and you're obviously exhausted. You can do it in the morning instead." Branch said softly, Poppy pouting at him in response before letting out a sigh of defeat.
"Okay," she mumbled, resting her head against his shoulder. "Only if you make breakfast."
He chuckled, nodding in acceptance.
As Branch carried her into their bedroom, Poppy's eyes slowly drooped shut. His lips curled into a small smile at the sight of her sleeping face.
Branch placed Poppy down on the bed, making sure to tuck her under the covers before getting changed and joining her. He wrapped his arms around her waist, soon drifting off to sleep with her cradled in his arms.
