Hey! As with everything I write, this will have no updating schedule I can confirm. I am also having a bit of technical difficulties, so apologies for my other story's awful formatting. I am trying to fix it.
Just as a warning, I update tags as I go so I don't spoil the plot.. I do miss things though, so if you see something, please say it in the reviews.I take prompts and pairing suggestions.
Last thing, if homosexuality or polyamory freaks you out, you probably shouldn't read anything I write. Enjoy

Percy POV
Percy felt bad for his soulmate.
It wasn't his fault, but he still felt guilty that he got hurt so often. With the pit scorpion poison to the explosion on the CSS Birmingham, and everything in between, he figured he was making him miserable. Him, because he had known since he was twelve that he was as straight as an archer's bow. Miserable, because when you got hurt, your soulmate got a matching wondered if he would hate him for all he had done to him in the past two years. He also wondered what social services was doing wrong to have overlooked him.
/flashback/
The feeling of a belt hitting his back struck again. It was all he could do to keep from crying out in pain. Again. And again. And again. He gasped as a single tear slid down his cheek.
Eventually, it stopped. A feeling of being slammed into a wall knocked the air out of his lungs. When Percy thought he could move again, he got off the floor of his cabin and opened the drawer in his nightstand, bandaging himself with practiced ease. The thought sickened him. He slumped into his bed and started crying. He hated that he couldn't find his soulmate, couldn't save him from this hell. He just held onto the fact that he couldn't hear the thought of his soulmate, knew that a t least they weren't in critical condition. People reasoned it was a kindness from the fates, to be comforted by the other part of your soul before you both went. He felt so many emotions. Anger that someone would do this to a child, sadness that the poor boy had to suffer this, guilt he wasn't doing enough, and fear, fear that his soulmate would be beaten so bad he would die, and both of them would perish. His sobbing eventually faded away to an acute sense of hopelessness. He did not get much sleep that night.
/end flashback/
All this ran through his head as he held up the sky. Well, he was definitely in trouble now. He felt sharp throbs of guilt for putting his soulmate through more pain. As if on cue, a sharp pain that Percy had eventually discovered to be the sharp end of a ruler suddenly cut his hand. He screamed in agony at the sky itself pushing down on the cut. When the battle ended it was all he could do to run away into the sleigh. He passed out soon after.

Leo POV
Leo shook as he slid onto the floor of his room. His stupid, stupid soulmate really had done it this time. Whatever they were doing had him screaming on the floor, and his foster mom Teresa had not liked that.
Leo , shakingly stared at his hand, the five cuts were much wider and deeper than they were supposed to be. Jade, Ruby, and Julian, the three other kids got up from the beds to come and hug Leo and sooth him. He cried into Jade's shoulder until the familiar warmth filled him, and the cut's on his hand slowly closed, leaving just scars.
He wasn't sure if he hated or loved his soulmate. On one hand, he hurt himself so often, which just made Leo's daily dose of pain that much worse. On the other, he did something that fixed all the injuries both of them had gotten since Leo turned eleven.
Leo drew a shaky breath. Breathe in, breathe out. Breathe in, breathe out. His calming mantra, the thing that kept him sane. And his foster sibling. He relaxed into the cuddle pile and just tried to forget everything.
"Ruby, come down here and finish your chores now!" Teresa hollered angrily down the stairs. Ruby instantly scrambled upright, patting Leo's head as a last act of comfort… and froze.
"Look in the mirror." Was all she said before she dashed off, not wanting to be punished for being late. Leo stared in confusion, then looked to the others questioningly. They both gaped in shock, then stood up and walked with Leo to the bathroom.
He stared in wonder at his reflection.

Nico POV
Nico came to in a camp infirmary bed. Will Solace, the relatively new Apollo camper, smiled at him and handed him some ambrosia.
"...What…happened?" Nico asked.
" You collapsed in the middle of training. Your only injury was what appeared to be cuts on your hand, which healed themselves like ten minutes after they appeared…and… it's better if I show you. Do you think you can stand?"
Nico slowly stood up, still a little woozy from what had happened, and Will walked him into the bathroom. He stared in confusion at the streak of gray hair he now had.
"Do you know why this happened?" Nico asked.
"We talked to Chiron. It hasn't happened in a few centuries, but it appears as though your soulmate… held up the sky. And Mt. Tamalpais is in the west, and they're the only Quest we have going right now."
Nico took a moment to process that. "So…you think someone on the quest is my soulmate?"
" There's a pretty good chance, yes. You need to go back to your cabin, and rest. When the quest get's back we can discuss this further. Doctor's orders."
He nodded walked to his cabin, his mind a miserable whirl.
He had always feared meeting his soulmate, because, even at ten, he knew that he had had crushes on guys, and not girls. He knew the stories, knew what society did to people like him. He was partly sad, and partly terrified.
Most of the girls on that quest weren't into anyone. The thought of being alone terrified him. Even if that someone was a girl he just had to suck it up for, just so he could have someone to stay with him. He would figure out what was wrong with him later, so he could live the life he was supposed to, with a wife and happy children.
The other part of him was scared that his soulmate wasn't at Mt. Tamalpais. That he would continue having to wait in fear and longing for his soulmate. That his soulmate was a guy, that would take one look at him and that hate him for ruining his life for not being the way they were supposed to , worst of all, meeting his soulmate and knowing they could never be together. Having a friendship but nothing of those terrifying possibilities was his future. He had to get used to it.
He opened the door to his cabin and just collapsed on his borrowed bunk. The other unclaimed and Hermes campers barely spared him a glance. He laid there a long time, just him and his depressive thoughts, until he fell asleep

AN: So, this was more depressing than I intended it to be. Whoops. Ignore the fact that a ten year old shouldn't know their sexuality, I needed it to happen in order to follow canon. And I'm shocked that Nico and Hazel didn't get more of a culture shock, so here is me remedying that. You get to see Percy being all sweet and supportive to Nico while he realizes he is in fact perfectly normal and can have an amazing love life.
I will be switching chapters between different couples POVs. Next one is Reynabeth, which should be done much quicker than the last one. A solid MONTH between posting! My god that is terrible. I will try my best to post once a week on this one, barring any surprise complications.
Last bit,I know I'm not abandoning it but I spent a solid 30 minutes trying to write the "Fluffified" fic and I couldn't do anything good. I may have to circle back to that one at a certain point in time. Thank you for understanding!
Bye, see you soon!
