Tales of Aincrad is a retelling of the Aincrad arc that loosely follows the Progressive and canon timeline of events using original characters to explore different aspects of Aincrad. The story in this tale will be about Claire: A 22-year old otaku who becomes a blacksmith and bruiser in the game, contributing in the clearing progress and preventing deaths in her own way.

This had not been previously relevant with Kayaba because Cardinal was intelligent enough not to disobey the man with authority.
