Police sirens could be heard in the distance, the men were frozen in shock when they saw the silhouette emerging from the smoke in front of them.
Before the gangsters was All Might who was frowning, his expression along with lightning blue eyes striking fear in the men. Despite the immense pressure they all felt from the presence of the Number One hero, some of them picked their weapons as they went to fight him. "Even if it's All Might! It's all of us against him! We can win!"
The Number One hero suddenly vanished, and everyone was confused before he knocked out several of the goons, Izuku not noticing that he was on the ground and his captors were unconscious. 'What...happened?'
"Oguro Kemono. The leader of the Ogre Mafia gang. You're under arrest for human trafficking and a multitude of kidnapping cases. It would be best if you comply." All Might stated as he walked towards the blonde leader.
Izuku's eyes widened in shock when he heard the name. 'Wait, Oguro Kemono? That's Kemono's brother?! I thought he was just a part of the gang, not the leader.'
"Well, Number One. I won't comply. But..." Oguro stabbed himself with a needle with a black substance inside of it, putting it in himself before he threw away the needle.
His body began to show veins as he grew bigger, his eyes turning black and his hair becoming spikier as he towered over All Might.
"You're going to have to stop me, Number One." His distorted voice caused chills to Izuku's body as he tried to will back the urge to vomit.
The ogre sprinted towards All Might, throwing a punch that was stopped, producing a shockwave that resulted in the ground below them collapsing. He went for another punch which the hero clashed against, creating a huge crater.
"Holy shit! All Might is powerful! Every punch that he throws is a damn hurricane!" One of the grunts commented as he watched the fight, another pointing at Oguro. "Yeah, but the boss is holding his own though!"
This continued for a while, Izuku getting up before he noticed the men being mesmerized by the fight, taking the chance to leave the place. 'I need…to leave…'
Seeing that he was able to hold his own against All Might, Oguro started hollering which confused the blonde hero. "What's wrong, Number One? Did you meet your match?"
All Might resumed trading blows with the huge ogre, glad to see that Izuku was able to leave the mansion before he stopped Oguro's punch with ease, much to his surprise. "Sorry, sir. I was a bit distracted. Had to stretch before using my full power. Now hold on to your socks! This one's gonna hurt!"
"Huh? You don't need to lie, All Might! Now die!" Oguro laughed as he swung his other fist with all his strength.
"Detroit…" All Might ducked under his swing before he retaliated with his own punch, his fist moving like a bullet toward Oguro's face.
"SMASH!" The punch collided with the ogre's face, causing him to be launched into the sky, the clash creating a blast of wind that sent the gang flying back.
Seeing Oguro plummeting to the ground in his injured, normal state, All Might leaped into the air and caught the man before putting handcuffs on him while he landed in front of the remaining members of the Ogre gang.
"You're all under arrest." All Might stated as he lifted several handcuffs. "Do not resist."
Seeing the situation, the men relinquished their weapons and surrendered to the blonde hero and the police. After the disaster was over, Izuku leaned on the wall and watched the men being arrested, the teen sighed before the orange-haired woman came to him with Yumemi in her grasp.
"You're ok! That's great. You're ok, right?" The woman asked to which Izuku weakly nodded, the two seeing the police officers and All Might having a discussion.
After some time had passed, they saw an SUV come onto the scene, Chief Kondo came out of the car and observed the place with a proud smile on his face before he went to All Might. "All Might sir, amazing work! You helped us there! We were searching for them but they keep giving us the slip!"
"I see. At least now the gang has been dealt with and will be going behind bars. I am surprised that the police are here." All Might smiled and made a handshake with the chief.
The police chief then turned to the captives with a smile. "Not to worry, everyone! We're here to help you! Thanks to All Might, you are all safe!"
All of the victims collectively let out a sigh of relief as some of them celebrated.
"That's great!"
"I can go home."
"I want my Mom!"
The orange-haired woman walked to the group with a concerned expression.
"Hey. That kid over there is heavily wounded. Do you know when the ambulance is coming?" She said, pointing to a wounded Izuku who was leaning on the wall.
Chief Kondo's smile fell the moment he noticed the green-haired teenager before he approached the teenager. Catching a glimpse of a pair of feet in front of him, Izuku looked up to see a disgusted glare on the man's face.
"What are you doing here?" Chief Kondo said with a repulsive tone.
"He found us in the storage shed and saved us before All Might came." The orange-haired woman answered as Yumemi woke up and then went to her brother.
Chief Kondo was surprised by the information before he crouched down to Izuku. "How did you know where they were hidden here? Apart from All Might's group, the only people who should know this is anyone who is affiliated with the gang."
The officers had differing expressions as they looked at each other, the group deep in thought. "He might have a point. He probably went with the bad crowd. I mean, he's quirkless. Probably acting out."
Izuku was surprised by their accusations, some of the people gave him judgmental stares at him before he spoke. "I-I told you a few days ago...when I got the message-"
"You got a message from them? Then that means you must be a part of their gang!" Kondo concluded, Izuku was surprised by his sudden accusation before he saw the evil grin on his face. "N-no. My family was-"
"Oh, I see. You're trying to act innocent to escape us, huh? Shifting the blame to them to save your own skin. Smart but not smart enough. Take him away!"
The officers had conflicted looks on their faces before they went to the teenager, Izuku slowly moved Yumemi away from him when he noticed some of them raising their weapons. The toddler stretched her hands toward her brother, quickly getting in front of Izuku, and then grabbed one of the officer's pants with a serious expression. "Da! Dara!"
'What is this?' The officers had conflicted looks as one of them tried to gently remove Yumemi from his leg. "C'mon, little girl. I don't want to hurt you."
"Y-Yu! Come here...to big brother." Izuku weakly said, trying to lift himself from the wall and enduring the pain that coursed through his body. The officers grabbed the teenager, and his sister cried as she ran to him.
"Yu! It's ok. Plea-" He paused when he saw Kondo coming towards the girl with his foot in the air, his heart fell as his body let out a dim glow. 'No...'
Naomasa noticed the man in the distance along with All Might, his eyes widened in shock as one of the officers grabbed the chief. "Chief Kondo! No!"
"Sir! You need to stop!"
The chief shook the officer off before he swung his foot at the toddler, Izuku's body started to pulsate with veins as he gritted his teeth.
"Oh no!" The woman screamed as they heard the collision.
After a moment of silence, Chief Kondo smirked until he noticed that his foot was stopped by Izuku who was protecting Yumemi. The teen then gave him a menacing glare that made him step back.
"Don't you dare...hurt...my sister..." Izuku could barely word out, the glow on his body dissipating.
"You…you…" Chief Kondo shook in anger.
He then relentlessly kicked Izuku, the boy not moving an inch as he protectively hugged his sister who started crying. "Uku! Uku!"
"You dare threaten a police officer, brat?!" Kondo shouted in anger as he grabbed his gun, much to everyone's surprise. "Do you know that is punishable by the law?"
"I don't care...what you do...to me. As long as...my sister is safe..." Izuku answered as he took the beating, patting Yumemi whose face was filled with tears.
Shaking in anger, the chief turned red as he aimed his gun at the teen but was stopped by his fellow police officers. "Chief Kondo sir! Don't you think that is going a bit too far? He did come to us about this incident and regarding his sister's disappearance-"
"You dare not listen?! Who cares about a quirkless kid and his useless sister? For all we know, the sister is also a defect like him." Chief Kondo shook out of their grasp and was about to shoot the teen who braced for it as the officer yelled at him. "Sir! Don't!"
A gunshot sound pierced through the air, causing a moment of silence.
For a minute, Izuku felt no new pain or discomfort before he noticed All Might in front of him, the blonde hero opened his hand which made a bullet fall to the ground.
"What is going on here, officer?" All Might said, his tone mixed with disbelief and anger.
Kondo stuttered as he looked around the place, his fellow men sharing a shocked look before he decided to point at Izuku. "That kid obstructed police business! He threatened an officer! H-h-he's a part of the Ogre gang!"
"Interesting for you to say that." Naomasa approached the two, having a notebook in his hands. "With my investigation on this group, there is no information or signs on their members list of a quirkless student."
The Police Chief started sweating bullets as the detective continued. "In fact, it is the opposite, members of this group and their family members terrorized people and students of this area and started to set their sights on Musutafu, one of the victims being this boy's family. The fact that the school buried the crimes because of his quirklessness is deplorable. Plus, All Might is aware of and present for one of such events of them bullying this student. It does not warrant him being here but it explains his actions and reason of being at this place."
"U-uh-um..." Kondo thought about his words.
"I believe we should drop this. We have done extensive research on this and like Detective Naomasa said, neither the boy nor his family have any criminal records." All Might stated before he walked towards the group of kidnapped people and reassured them. Turning to Kondo, the hero's stare pierced through the police chief's soul as he spoke. "I will be reporting this to the higher-ups. This cannot stand."
All Might then crouched to Izuku, his eyes widened when he saw the unconscious look on the teen's face which made him crack a small smile. 'Amazing. This kid...he has promise.'
As the ambulance came and gathered all the injured, the hero picked up the boy's unconscious body and put it on one of the stretchers along with Yumemi before he held a thumbs up.
'You're amazing, young Midoriya.' He thought before turning to see the piles of unconscious and broken bodies in the Kemono mansion. 'To think he did all of that by himself.'
It was morning when Izuku woke up to his sister crying, the teen jumped out of his sleep to see that he was in a hospital room, parts of his body wrapped in bandages.
"W-what happened? Where am I?" He looked around the place before he heard Yumemi's crying in a smaller bed near him. He quickly rushed over to her, cradling her as he noticed the bandages on her arms and cheek. "It's ok, Yu. It's gonna be okay."
Able to stop her crying, he noticed that she was hungry which made him smile a little. "Alright, let's get you some food."
Looking around the place, Izuku took her to the cafeteria for breakfast, feeding Yumemi while he was munching on a loaf of bread. A feeling of happiness went across Izuku when he saw his sister hum in delight while eating the food, wiping the crumbs off her face before he remembered the events from yesterday.
He remembered the things he did that night, the people he had beaten. Everything.
Even though they deserved it. It was still not within his choice to do that. He was not a police officer.
Izuku looked at his food and then at Yumemi, his hands tightened into fists. 'I don't regret anything.'
After they finished eating, the two Midoriya children went to their parents' hospital room to see their parents sleeping, Yumemi waved at her parents. "Mama! Papa!"
"Our parents are sleeping, Yu! We're going to have to wait until they wake up, ok?" Izuku told his sister who nodded happily before he went to his bag and took out her toys.
As she played with her toys, Izuku held onto his parents' hands with a somber expression on his face. "Mom, Dad. This could be the last time I get to talk to you. I may get jail time for my actions and honestly...I don't care."
He looked at his sister who walked up to him to play with her, a smile on his face as he obliged. 'I don't regret saving your life one bit. But I hope that you will be safe, Yumemi."
Suddenly, the door opened loudly before All Might popped his head through the room which surprised the teen. "I am here. Silently."
"All Might? W-what are you doing here?" Izuku said in surprise, his sister hiding behind his leg. All Might gestured to the teenager outside of the room. Izuku picked up Yumemi and walked outside of the room. "It's ok. Yu. Sorry about her. She's not good with strangers."
"I understand." The blonde hero bowed to the little girl, much to the teenager's surprise. "I also want to apologize as well."
"Huh?" Izuku and Yumemi blinked in unison.
"I promised you that I would make sure to keep you safe and deal with the Oguro gang but I did not keep my end of the bargain as quickly as I should." All Might said with a sorrowful tone.
Izuku was surprised by the gesture but he took a deep breath. "It's...ok, All Might. It's not your fault. It's because of me...I know that being quirkless was looked down upon but for my family to pay for this..."
"Your family?" The Number One hero looked inside the room to see the teen's parents, their condition causing the man to feel a pang of guilt. As he looked at Izuku's parents, his eyes widened when his eyes laid on Inko. "M-master?"
"What?" Izuku looked at him which made the man clear his throat.
"I meant to say that I apologize again for this. What happened?"
"They were attacked by the latest Ogre gang attack...they were seriously injured by it." Izuku started shaking as he hugged Yumemi like she was a lifeline. "I'm looking for someone who can do a blood transfusion with them to save their life. And I've been informed that Dad needs surgery done."
Seeing the pained expression on the teen's face, All Might took out a phone and made a call which confused the teen. "Hello, Edgeshot."
Finishing his call, the blonde hero made a smile as he put his hand on Izuku's shoulder. "Never fear."
"Huh?" Izuku raised a brow.
After a few hours, a couple of doctors and nurses came into the room before they bowed at All Might who nodded. "Please...do what you can."
"Understood. It's going to take a while. Will it be ok for you both to wait outside please while we start the surgery?" All Might nodded while Izuku was confused as he was escorted out of the room while the operation started.
"W-what?" Izuku muttered in disbelief, pinching himself to wonder if he was dreaming. "What's happening?"
"They are going to help your parents." Izuku turned to the Number One Hero, his face showing complete disbelief.
There was a singular thought on his mind as he looked down out of shock and confusion. "W-why? Thank you but why?"
"Because it's the right thing to do." All Might answered matter-of-factly, putting a hand on the verdette's shoulder. "And heroes always do the right thing."
"The right thing…" Izuku muttered which did not go unnoticed by All Might.
"Being a hero is more than beating villains and saving people. It is to ensure a society of peace. To lend a helping hand to those who truly need it."
Izuku just sat down on the bench, rubbing his wristbands before he glanced at the ceiling. As his parents were going through the operation, the teen had an exhausted expression on his face before he leaned on the wall, a singular question coming to his mind.
"That reminds me," Izuku spoke. "How is my case for the incident? I'm guessing that they are either going to give me a big sentence for what I did, right?"
"They will give you a light sentence. Nothing too bad to ruin your record. I pleaded for your case and that is what became of the conclusion." All Might explained, Izuku letting out a sigh while patting Yumemi who took a nap. "It's…ok. I deserve it. I was expecting worse."
"Young Midoriya." Izuku looked at the blonde hero who stood in front of him with a serious expression. "Your actions were reckless, dangerous, and could have led to many casualties if not for outside interference."
"I know...I know but..." Izuku's hands shook as he looked at his sleeping sister, pushing the hair out of her face. "When Yumemi was gone, I...I had to go...I couldn't lose another family member...I couldn't...just stand by while everyone ignored me and won't help my family."
"I understand how you feel, young Midoriya. And I must say that regardless of that, you made a valiant attempt and done great work in dwindling their numbers by exploiting their weaknesses despite your quirklessness. Although your pure intentions and heroic drive, it is good to think to rely on the police and heroes. Sometimes it is good to wait and not act quickly. Understand?"
"Yeah." Izuku nodded with a small smile. "Thanks."
"Young man, you have a long life ahead of you. You can't be throwing it away so quickly. Last night, you showed me that you are smart, athletic, you took your weaknesses into account…your eyes… were clouded before but now, they have some shine in them. I understand how you feel about your family but sometimes, having the drive is not enough to win or save someone's life."
Izuku nodded before he looked at the wall with a conflicted expression. "How...how can I repay you for this?"
"By living. Live and show this world that they are wrong about you. You have a bright future. Go seize it!" Upon hearing the Number One Hero's words, Izuku felt like a burden came off his shoulders, leaning back in his seat.
Feeling a wave of relief, Izuku closed his eyes, feeling something that he had never felt in a while. He felt happy.
"Thank you, All Might. Thank you...so...much..." The green-haired teenager muttered sleepily.
"All in a day's work, Young Midoriya." Those were the last words Izuku heard before he started to get comfortable and fall asleep.
At the end of the day when the operation was completed, there was a beep from the room that woke Izuku and Yumemi up, the toddler stretching herself while her brother looked up to see that the surgery was finished.
"Oh, it's finished. It's finished, All Mi-" The teen turned to All Might but he did not see anyone there before he searched the place. After a while, Izuku then noticed a letter in his pocket. "What the?"
"Mr. Midoriya." The doctor called with a smile as he gestured for him to go inside the room. "Come inside."
Izuku then went inside the room, he then saw his mother sitting up in her bed, trying to move as much as possible before she noticed him. "M-mom…"
"My children..." Inko said with tears streaming down her face.
Izuku's legs moved on their own as he approached the woman before he touched the woman. 'This isn't a dream.'
He fell to his knees, Inko wrapping her arms around him and her daughter in a warm embrace. Yumemi clutched onto the woman with tears spilling out of her eyes. "Mama...Mama..."
"Yes, Yu. I missed you too. Both of you." Inko cried with a smile on her face.
Izuku did not notice the tears coming from his eyes until they hit the floor, unable to wipe them from his face as he cried loudly. "Mom!"
'Thank goodness...thank goodness...I thought I would never see them again.' The teen thought as they all hugged each other. He then remembered something when he turned to his father, seeing the man still in slumber. "Is Dad still sleeping?"
"Yeah. But he is stabilized. He is in no life-threatening situation." The doctor entered the room with a smile on his face, much to Izuku's elation as the teen bowed to him. "Thank you, sir. Thank you...so much..."
The doctor waved off at the teen. "I'm happy for you. Don't lose hope, your family is strong. Much stronger than you think."
Izuku nodded with a smile before he realized something. "Oh, I didn't get your name, sir."
"Nagato. Nagato Mirai." The doctor said before he exited the room. Izuku looked at his father, approaching him to see a serene look on the man's face.
"I hope he recovers soon," Inko said as she looked at Hisashi with a melancholic expression. Inko then looked at Izuku who had a smile on his face as he put the sheet over his father's body. "Are you ok, Izuku?"
"Yeah..." Izuku said before he sat down. "...I'm fine. It's a long story. You ready to listen?"
Inko was surprised by this, seeing light and hope in her son's eyes which made her happy before he turned to her with a smile. Izuku felt a burning drive before he picked up one of his burnt notebooks in his bag and wrote his new goal in the book before he explained what happened to his mother.
His goal now is to be a hero.
"You're always helping people. That's so like you." Naomasa said to All Might who looked at the sunset with his signature smile. "I want to be able to save people. Plus, you saw that kid…he was on the edge…his eyes were dark when I first met him. Very dark..."
"Hmm." Naomasa hummed.
All Might looked up to the horizon, checking on his phone to which Tsukauchi was beside them before they went into the car. "I'm guessing the Ogre gang was the last group that you have to deal with here in Kyushu. It's weird though, from the missing persons that we found, I did not see Hajime Tsubasa. I say we do another round before we leave Kyushu. It has been months since we have gotten this report."
"Yes. There is not much time that I have here anyway. I had to keep a low profile for them to slip up and get caught." All Might said before he started laughing before they both drove to the horizon, the man getting a notification on his phone. "I need to return to Honshu soon."
"Well, we're going to need to keep our eyes peeled. Kyushu's research team is checking on the residue from that needle that the leader of the Ogre clan used against you." Naomasa said with a serious expression. All Might looked up to the sky which did not go unnoticed by the detective. "Do you think...it might be him?"
"I hope it's not. I truly hope it's not." All Might said, tightening his fists.
It was snowing on the island of Kyushu.
White crystals fell on the beach of Takoba, everyone enjoying the season as they went through their daily lives and prepared for the holidays to come. On the beach was Izuku who was dressed in a green and black winter coat with red snow boots, the teen who was gazing at the water with his hands in his pockets. He looked at the suitcases beside him before he heard a loud voice.
"Uku!" He turned to his sister who was waving at him with Inko who gently smiled at him.
It was a few months since his mother was discharged, it was a miracle that she was alive. The teen felt a bit dispirited when he saw the woman walk with a slight limp and a few scars around her left shoulder but he was happy as he ran to them with the suitcases.
"You ready to go?" Inko said, Izuku nodded before he turned to the hospital with a raised brow. "Are you sure about moving from here, Mom? We're going to be a bit farther from Dad."
"It's ok. I can't afford to lose my job at this moment. Plus, I should be happy it's Fukuoka and not Haku City and I need to get back to work since we're going to be starting from square one." Inko said with a sad smile before she held her children's hands, tears coming down his face. "It's gonna be us for a while. I'm sorry that you have to experience it."
Izuku gripped the woman's hand and smiled a big smile. "Don't worry, Mom. Dad would hate seeing you like this. I'll support you as much as I can, ok?"
"Ya! Mama!"
Hearing that and seeing her children's smiles, Inko started to shake before she cried as she embraced them. "Thank you...I promise that I won't let you both suffer."
'That should be my line, Mom.' Izuku thought as he patted his mother on her back. After several minutes of the Midoriya-style crying, the Midoriya trio got themselves ready as they took a taxi and went to their destination which is the Fukuoka prefecture. After a few hours of traveling, they arrived at their destination, the trio reaching their new abode which is a huge apartment building.
"This is our new place. It's gonna be a bit cramped." Inko said as she opened the door to their new place, Yumemi dashing inside as Izuku grabbed the suitcases and dragged them inside. After a few days of getting situated in their new home, Izuku was outside on the balcony with a piece of paper in his hands before he smiled as he had a new goal now.
"Maybe I should try for the hero course at UA College in Honshu?"
Hope you guys like this chapter. This is honestly one of my favorite chapters to write. Sadly, Hisashi is not awake. Izuku is now set on wanting to be a hero again. UA is a university college now. I think it makes more sense since it's a very dangerous career choice and I think it would be stupid to have kids doing that course without not wanting to branch to other career choices but forget all that gibberish. Please stay safe, guys. Enigma out!
