A/N: I held off on uploading this chapter because I wanted to give myself more time between spacing out uploads (and maybe work on a few more chapters' art) and before I knew it WHOOPS what was supposed to be a week or two became a month lolololol (and I haven't drawn anything fic related since April LMAO)
This may be the only update for a while! It's the latest one that had art, and I've actually lost a bit of interest in MHA right now since I've been spending more time in other fandoms. I don't want to have to force myself to draw stuff for this fic, especially since I'm taking summer classes and everything, so… yeah. Updates will be slower and VERY infrequent, just giving a heads up.
Uploading this chapter late today because I went to the DMV and then when I came home I found out my dog ate a big piece of chocolate so we had to make sure he barfed it out .-.

"Kirishima, hey!"
"Hm?"
Kaminari shoved his phone into Kirishima's face, flashing the redhead a large grin.
"Your hero name's in the news online! Seriously, wow dude! 'Newcomer Sidekick Red Riot Bursts onto the Scene! From his first day, he takes responsibility for the citizens and fights a villain by himself.' That's what it says!"
"Oh, really?"
Hitomi clapped her hands together, smiling at her friend. "That's amazing that you already got coverage from your first day! I'm proud of you, Kiri!"
As Kirishima thanked her and Kaminari, Bakugou growled behind her, likely from irritation that he was reminded of his failure to get his license. Hitomi stiffened as the rest of the girls talked about an article that featured Uraraka and Tsuyu, which only heightened Bakugou's annoyance.
Don't mind him… ! Stop thinking about that stupid crush…!
Iida started muttering something from his spot by his desk, before he waved his arm around, his tone stern. "Your service is remarkable. However! A student's duty is to study! You can't doze off in class!"
Hitomi sweatdropped as Kirishima and Midoriya wholeheartedly agreed, determined to keep up with their schoolwork. I'm still sorry for doing that, Iida… she thought sheepishly.
"Hey, Kirishima," Kaminari hummed. "You said your schoolwork was in trouble, but are you okay now?"
"The teachers said they'd set up supplementary lessons for me."
"Maybe I should've gone, too…" Sero said as he scratched the back of his head. "It seems tough to do both at once…"
"Everyone learns at their own pace," Yaoyorozu tried to reassure him.
Kaminari pumped his fists, an airy smile on his face. "You're absolutely right!"
"Kaminari, that doesn't mean you have an excuse not to study," Hitomi deadpanned.
"Ehh?" Kaminari whined. "Let me live in my fantasy just once, Hitomi! Besides," he pointed at her in an accusatory manner, narrowing his eyes, "someone who hardly studies at all doesn't have any right to say that!"
"...That's because I already understand most of the stuff we learn," Hitomi mumbled, looking away sheepishly. She crossed her arms, her cheeks puffing out. "I've been better about it, anyway!"
"What's with all the noise?" Aizawa said as he slid open the door. "Get to your seats."
The class was already in order.
…
Hitomi was walking with Mina and Hagakure at lunch, on their way to the cafeteria from the classroom. Hagakure had forgotten her phone in the classroom, and since the girls had been planning to sit together at lunch that day, Hitomi and Mina offered to go back with her to retrieve it while the rest went ahead to save them seats.
As they turned the corner to enter the hallway that led to the lunchroom, making small talk about an idol group Mina loved, they were suddenly stopped by Kendo.
"Hey, Class A!"
The trio of girls stopped in the middle of the hallway, seeing Class 1-B's resident class representative (or as some liked to call her, Class 1-B's "Big Sister") making her way towards them. A taller boy with dark brown, shaggy hair and a somewhat bored expression was with her.
"What's up, Kendo?" Mina asked as they both stopped in front of the three of them.
The Class B students were both silent for a moment, before Kendo sighed, elbowing the boy. "I'm not talking for you!"
He rolled his eyes, sighing as he stepped forward. "You're Kanetsukabe, aren't you?"
Hitomi's eyes widened as he stared down at her. "Eh? Yeah…"
He reached into his pocket, pulling something out and holding it out to her. Hitomi realized it was a small stack of photos. "You can have these."
Hitomi tilted her head, bewildered as she slowly raised her hands to take them. "Oh… why?"
He scratched his head, his expression one of indifference. "Last night I was printing out some photos I took recently and I accidentally set the number of copies to two instead of one, so there's double the amount of photos. Photo paper and ink are expensive, and since I didn't want to waste them, I needed to find someone to give them to. You like the sky or something, right?"
Hitomi nodded, staring at the picture on the top of the stack. Mina and Hagakure both looked over her shoulder, wanting to see it for themselves. It was a picture of the stars. "I do," she mumbled, looking up at him. "But… how'd you know? I mean, you're not in my class, so…"
His face bore an offended look as he stared at her. "You were talking about it with Kendo right in front of me back at the training camp. I mean, I get not knowing people outside of your own class, but I even told you my name. Did you really forget? You an airhead or something?" he huffed.
Hitomi blushed in embarrassment at the comment, her eyes widening as she recalled the second day of training camp. She had been peeling potatoes with Kendo and this boy now that she was thinking about it, and Kendo had gotten her talking about how much she loved looking for constellations when Hitomi had been staring at the sky instead of doing her task. If she was remembering correctly, his name was…
"I-I remember…!" she spluttered, pointing at him. "You're Sen Kaibara, right…? Sorry, it's just been a while since then, so I had to jog my memory…" She looked back down at the photos as he shrugged in an aloof manner, sifting through the stack of pictures. As she looked through them, her eyes couldn't help but widen in awe. "Wow… you took these yourself?"
"Yeah. What about it?"
Hitomi looked up at him, wearing a small smile. "They're amazing! The stars look so clear and you were even able to catch the Milky Way. You're really good at photography!"
Kaibara looked to the side, dismissive. "Well, I like cameras, so…"
Hitomi straightened the stack in her hands as she gave him another smile. "Thanks for deciding to give these to me. I'll make sure to take good care of them!"
Kaibara stared at her for several seconds until he huffed, turning away as he put his hands in his pockets. "Sure. Yeah. Do whatever you want with them."
Kendo gave the girls a sheepish wave. "Don't mind him. Hope you like the photos, Kanetsukabe. Enjoy your guys' lunch!" she said before hurrying to follow after him.
As Hitomi, Mina, and Hagakure watched them make their way towards the lunchroom, small bits of their conversation could be heard.
"See, wasn't so bad, was it? Told you she would be willing to take them off your hands! And you know, it's not that hard to be a little friendlier, Kaibara."
"Oh, can it. You could have just given her the photos yourself instead of making this harder than it needed to be by making me do it…"
They eventually disappeared into the cafeteria, Mina and Hagakure turning to Hitomi in a flash.
"What was that?!" Mina exclaimed.
Hitomi flinched, holding her hands up. "I- I don't know…! I'm just as confused as you are!"
She felt her shoulders get squeezed, meaning Hagakure was probably holding her shoulders.
"You know, I've heard lots of people say Kaibara's a really good-looking guy!" she said as she shook her lightly. "The only reason he's not more popular is because he's so aloof and hostile! But, he was willing to give you something you like!"
Hitomi was jostled around by the invisible girl, her hands holding the photos to her chest as she tried not to drop any of them. "I think you're reading too much into this… Kendo made him do that since he wasn't willing to deliver them himself…!" She looked to the side apathetically as Hagakure let go of her shoulders. "What reason would he have to even like me, anyway? We don't know each other that well…"
"Hey, love isn't always about already knowing each other!" Mina tutted, wagging her finger. "Sometimes people fall in love at first sight! They'd admire their crush from afar, and could want to get to know them better! You never know!"
Hitomi sighed, giving both girls a sheepish smile. "Even so, I doubt that's the case."
I just don't see that happening with someone like me…
Her stomach suddenly growled, reminding the girls it was still lunchtime. "Can we head to the cafeteria now?" she laughed. "I wanna see what Lunch Rush's special is today…"
Mina and Hagakure agreed, the trio finally making their way to the end of the hall and entering the lunchroom. Hitomi sifted through the photos again as they walked to the table where the rest of the girls sat, taking the chance to better admire the pictures.
She started to fall behind the other two girls as she stared at the photos, so lost in them that she walked straight into someone, causing her to drop all of the pictures.
"Oi!"
"Oh crap!" Hitomi squeaked, her eyes wide as the photos fluttered to the floor in a mess. She crouched down, hastily trying to pick them up. "Sorry…!" she spluttered to the person she bumped into.
Her eyebrows knit together as she gathered the pictures closest to her in her hands, just about ready to punch herself into tomorrow.
Just when I said I would take good care of them…!
Screw me and my stupid clumsiness!
Above her she heard a scoff, freezing as the person she walked into spoke.
"Seriously, were you spacing out again?"
Hitomi looked up slowly, her eyes widening in recognition.
Of course it was fucking Bakugou.
Hitomi looked back down at the floor, feeling her cheeks heat up in embarrassment.
You have gotta be kidding me.
Why did this have to happen to her?
"Sorry, Bakugou," she mumbled, continuing to pick up the photos. "I should have looked where I was walking…"
"No fucking shit you should have," he huffed, before he suddenly crouched down, gathering the photos that had fallen farther away.
"Hey, Bakugou!" Hitomi heard Kaminari call, seeing he was at a table not too far away. "Can you get me a ramune when you go to the drink bar?"
Bakugou growled from his spot. "Either get it yourself or give me your money! I'm not paying for you!"
"I'll pay you when you come back to the table! Pleaaaase?"
Bakugou scowled, shooting the blonde a glare. "You fucking better!"
He went back to picking up Hitomi's photos, letting out another scoff. "Seriously, Moon Face, what had you so absorbed you couldn't even bother to watch where you were going…?" He flipped over one of the photos in his hand, staring at it. "Pictures of space?"
Hitomi bit her lip, keeping her eyes trained on the floor. He was using that "Moon Face" nickname again.
Why is he calling me that now…?
She thought his nickname for her was Droopy Eyes. However, he hadn't used that name since the sports festival, which was also the only time he actually referred to her by that to her face. He'd only been calling her by her last name since then.
So why was he suddenly calling her this new name? Why did his nickname for her change? Admittedly, she preferred this one over her old one… It sounded better, and could even be seen as cute if you looked at it a certain way.
Why did he decide to change it? Was it because of her hero name that she chose, like when he got her those earrings-
"Hey."
Hitomi blinked when she felt papers flop against her forehead, looking up to see Bakugou was now kneeling down in front of her. He'd used the photos he picked up to get her attention.
Hitomi's blush deepened as she leaned back, her heartbeat speeding up.
Why am I thinking about that at a time like this?!
Bakugou squinted at her, his nose wrinkling. "Stop daydreaming on the floor. You look like an idiot."
"Right…"
Bakugou raised a brow, getting up from his kneeling position. Hitomi followed after him, in a daze as she straightened her skirt. He held the photos out to her, placing his other hand in his pocket. "Why are you even walking around with a bunch of pictures of the sky, anyway? You should have left it in the classroom."
Hitomi stared at the stack of photos in his hand, silent. Her heart felt like it was beating so fast it could jump out of her chest, she couldn't find it in herself to speak, and her mind was drawing a blank.
All because she was face-to-face with her stupid crush.
Bakugou waved the photos at her, his mouth in a small scowl. "Are you even listening right now?"
Hitomi gulped, the thoughts in her head practically screaming at her.
Just talk to him like you normally would! It's not that hard!
Why would liking him make things any different?!
"Um…. Kaibara- Sen Kaibara from… from Class B gave them to me. H-He made extra copies on accident, so he- uh, he gave them to me so they wouldn't go… go to waste."
Oh, fuck, she completely stumbled all over her words.
End her suffering right now.
Bakugou made a small "hm" in response, eyeing her as she finally took the photos from his hand.
Hitomi put them with the stack in her own hands, all of the photos now back in her possession. "Well," she said slowly, clutching the pictures to her chest, "thanks for helping me pick them up. Sorry for bumping into you…!"
She then spedwalk away, ready to melt on the spot. Her face was a hot mess, so bright red that the blush had extended to her ears and down her neck.
Bakugou's voice was small as she walked to the table where the rest of the girls were, Hitomi just barely catching his words.
"What's up with her…?"
She cringed as she approached the girls' table, feeling his eyes were still on her.
Get it together, Hitomi…!
As she finally stopped by the edge, the girls' various greetings to her sounded distant as she stared at the floor.
...Idiot.
Whether that was to herself or to Bakugou, she didn't know.
A/N: I blame Instagram for causing me to make the Hitomi/Sen pairing a thing. Someone asked me a while back who I'd pick if I had to ship Hitomi with someone from 1-B, and I said Sen, and then it morphed into this crack ship that resulted in that interaction. There's no underlying reason he gave the photos to Hitomi (he just needed to give them to someone who would actually appreciate the pictures and Kendo suggested Hitomi) but uh. Let's just say Hitomi's compliments stuck with him for the rest of the day BAHHGAHGHGHADSD
Also Hitomi stuttered so bad it made ME cringe rereading it good god lmao
