A/N: since I'm not gonna be posting art with these chapters anymore we're just kinda gonna… speedrun through them lol. Might as well do the Mon/Fri upload schedule again since I'm not restricted by waiting to draw the art.
I recommend listening to Hero Too (either the actual song or the instrumental) while listening to the performance portion of the chapter! After that you can listen to the regular OST I provided later down the chapter.
Music
Let it Flow! School Festival!
"LET'S FUCKING GO!" Bakugou screamed, raising his drumsticks in the air. "All of UA…
We'll kill 'em with our sound!"
He slammed on the drums, letting out a large explosion and launching A-Band into the beginning of the song. Hitomi felt her skirt billow from his explosive power, gripping the mic as everyone started playing.
In front of her she saw the dance squad beginning their choreography, Jirou leaning into her mic.
"THANK YOU ALL FOR COMING!" she yelled, Bakugou letting out another explosion behind her.
Let's do this!
Hitomi opened her mouth, surprised to hear her voice coming out loud and clear. She bounced along to the sound of their music, tapping her foot along with the beat.
The butterflies in her stomach slowly faded away as her classmates danced to their song, feeling herself smile as she saw the crowd beginning to pump their fists to the beat. As she watched her friends jump into the air, pride couldn't help but swell in her chest.
Everyone had worked so hard to make this performance the best it could be. To make the little girl Eri smile.
And Hitomi couldn't help but feel glad to be a part of it.
She kept singing, beginning to step side to side with the beat as Midoriya threw Aoyama into the air, creating the light show they'd planned. The crowd cheered at the sight as Ojiro caught Aoyama, bringing him back to the stage and allowing Aoyama to high five Midoriya as Midoriya ran into the wings. Hitomi saw the curly-haired boy flash everyone a thumbs-up, before disappearing backstage.
It's almost time for that, right?
As they went further into the song, Hitomi trailed off, her first portion of the song finished. Her eyes glowed as she activated her quirk, remembering what Kirishima had told her about their plans for the special effects.
"You want me to what?" Hitomi asked Kirishima, confused.
"You know how Aoyama's gonna be acting as a disco ball, right?" Kirishima started, gesturing with his hands. "We thought maybe you could use your quirk to help make it more flashy! Since your force fields glow, don't they?"
Hitomi nodded, prompting Kirishima to continue.
"So I was thinking," the redhead said as he spread his arms out, "that super move you have, Eclipse? I was wondering if you could maybe do something like that, spreading it out along the ground and coming up. But instead of closing a dome around everyone, it could just flow up into the air. I bet it'd look really cool!"
Hitomi held her chin, her eyebrows furrowing in concentration. "I could probably do that… Throughout the whole gym, right? One that big would require some concentration, so it'd have to be during a part of the song where I'm not singing."
"Oh, then how about at the climax, when Jirou's singing? We're already gonna have the streamers and ice and stuff, but I think your quirk would really bring everything together!"
"In that case," Hitomi said, giving Kirishima a bright smile, "you can count on me!"
Hitomi's brows narrowed in concentration, her hair flowing behind her as the heat built up around her. Her eyes closed as they approached the peak of the song, her eyebrows furrowing in concentration.
She focused on the beats of the song, hearing Bakugou's beats against the drums begin to pick up speed. The moment she heard the sound of Todoroki's ice, Hitomi took a deep breath, opening her eyes as she slammed her hand down on the ground.
Now!
Cerulean light erupted from her hand as Hitomi created a huge force field, the plasma spreading out across the entire floor under everyone's feet. She heard people in the crowd exclaim in surprise as it flowed along the floor, moving up against the walls.
Right as they reached their highest point, Hitomi heard streamers erupt into the air, feeling Bakugou let out another explosion behind her and hearing Jirou sing the longest note of the song.
The entire crowd burst into cheer at the sight, filling Hitomi with so much excitement she felt like her heart could have burst out of her chest. She jumped back up, holding the mic as she took a deep breath to get ready to continue singing.
She couldn't help but chuckle to herself as the crowd began to dance along, while the dance squad ran to their places on Todoroki's ice, continuing their choreography. Hitomi tapped her foot to the beat, taking another deep breath before beginning to sing along again, unable to stop the wide smile from forming on her face.
Bakugou continued to slam on the drums as Hitomi joined Jirou in the chorus, a smirk on his face as he saw the crowd was dancing to their song wholeheartedly. His smirk faltered slightly as Hitomi's swaying hair caught his eye, his arms hitting the notes perfectly on his drums without a second thought as he watched her.
As they got to the slower part of their song, Bakugou continued to stare at her from behind, tapping his drums absentmindedly now.
He could see her from an angle, and saw that she was leaning into the mic with such genuine happiness, her hair and her skirt bouncing along as she swayed to the lyrics.
As Hitomi trailed off for Jirou to sing her solo, Bakugou now only tapping the cymbals on his drums, she turned slightly, allowing him to see her face.
That smile.
That stupid, pretty smile.
He loved that stupid smile so, so much.
Bakugou picked up his drumming, the song returning to its chorus and faster tune.
He refocused on his drums as Hitomi rejoined Jirou in singing, his eyes fleeting back and forth between his playing and Hitomi. She was immersed in the song completely, a wide smile on her face as she sang along.
She stepped side to side, so perfectly in tune with the song that Bakugou couldn't help but scoff, a smirk on his face as he continued playing.
And she'd been so worried about missing the rhythm.
Hitomi was sweating from the heat of the spotlights and the shortness of breath that came from singing, but she couldn't feel more energetic. Her cheeks were aching from the grin on her face as she saw people float into the air thanks to Uraraka's quirk, the audience's awe and excitement filling her with happiness.
As the dance squad carried out the last of their choreography, Hitomi swayed along to the last bits of music, singing the ending lyrics of the song. Jirou looked back and forth between her and the other members of the band, all of them smiling at each other as the song slowly came to a close. As the last notes of Jirou's bass and Bakugou's drums hung in the air, the entire crowd erupted in applause.

Hitomi sped-walk out of the backstage bathroom, shaking her arms as she walked across the gym floor. She'd gone to freshen up once the performance was over, the excitement still leaving jitters in her stomach as she caught sight of Midoriya, Eri, and Mirio nearby.
"...and a girl's voice said 'wow' and I said 'wow' too…"
Hitomi saw Midoriya wipe his face with his sleeve, realizing there had been tears in his eyes.
"I'm glad you had a good time, Eri."
Hitomi saw Eri smile, one of the most adorable smiles she'd ever seen. The sight of the little girl's smile had Hitomi grinning like crazy, her cheeks starting to ache again as she ran out the gym door and over to the sinks where they were cleaning the ice.
Todoroki and Bakugou were already there, melting some ice as Hitomi approached.
"I'm back!" she exclaimed, grabbing the two boys' attention.
"'Bout time," Bakugou huffed, turning away from the partially melted ice in the sink to face her. "I was starting to think you were slacking off, Moon Face."
Hitomi slowed down to a walk, clasping her hands behind her back and stopping in front of him. She didn't say anything, staring at the ground as she remembered Eri and the entire crowd's smiles.
Just thinking about it had her grinning like an idiot.
"Oi," Bakugou cut in, waving a hand in front of her face. "Did you hit your head or something on the way back? You're seriously clumsy as fuck."
Hitomi bit her lip to try to placate her smile, pushing his hand away and walking past him to stand in between him and Todoroki at the sink. "It's nothing," she hummed, her smile never fading. She placed her hands on the leftover ice, her eyes glowing as she activated her quirk. Steam slowly rose from the ice chunks as they slowly melted away into water, the two boys following suit in melting the rest of the ice.
"So, you had fun?" Todoroki piped in, making Hitomi pause.
"Huh?"
"You're humming the song."
Hitomi blushed. "Oh, am I? I didn't even notice…" Ojiro stopped by the sink, dumping some more ice chunks in for the three of them to melt. "Yeah," Hitomi nodded, placing her hands on the new pieces of ice and melting them with her touch. "A lot of fun."
"Class A!"
The three of them turned at the sound of the new voice, seeing other UA students walking past what Hitomi supposed were part of the crowd.
"We had a lot of fun!"
"Oh, great! Thanks!" Kirishima exclaimed.
"Yeah…" Hitomi heard a deep voice rumble, her eyes widening as she recognized the voice. "It was fun… Good job."
Two students suddenly ran to the front of the crowd, Hitomi realizing they were the general studies students she'd heard talking about them behind their backs a month ago.
"We're sorry!" the girl exclaimed.
"We watched it to criticize it!" the boy added on. "I'm really sorry!" he called over his shoulder as the two of them ran away in embarrassment.
"They didn't have to say that…" Kaminari mumbled.
Hitomi saw Bakugou look to the side, a sick smirk on his face. She elbowed him, knowing he was thinking something along the lines of "We won."
"I wonder if they're some of the people Aizawa-sensei was talking about who were stressed," Kirishima remarked. "If they were," he turned to Iida, holding his fist up, "then Iida, our feelings reached them!"
"Yeah!" Iida nodded along. "But no matter what their reason, it was because they watched us! I'm sure there are those who didn't watch. Let's not end this today and let our feelings—"
"It's fine, isn't it?" one of the upperclassmen jumped in. "We heard about what you guys wanted to do when you planned this."
"We got it," another said. "Now, we'll tell the others."
"I mean, it was really fun!"
"Those of us who watched it will pass on your feelings."
"That'll be great!" Mina cheered, elbowing Jirou.
Iida bent down in a bow. "Thank you for your kindness!"
"I don't like it," Bakugou grumbled. He began to walk forward, his eyes narrowing. "Find the guys who didn't watch and bring them here!"
Hitomi scurried to wrap her hands around his arm, trying to keep him from getting any more hostile. "Bakugou, chill out! Stop that, you angry Pomeranian!"
"Don't call me that!"
…
Hitomi flipped through the directory, reading through everything and mumbling to herself. The class had just finished watching the beauty pageant.
"Class C has a haunted mansion! And then there's a cafe, and games, and so many food stands…"
She was going through it so fast that it reminded everyone of Midoriya.
"Hitomi…?" Kirishima sweatdropped.
She closed the book, huffing to herself. "I gotta plan this out if I wanna see everything."
"Aww, Hitomi," Kaminari grinned, slinging an arm around her shoulders. "Just go with the flow. See where the wind takes you."
Hitomi slung his arm off of her, grabbing the front of his shirt and giving him such a hard stare he flinched. "I have four hours. I'm seeing everything."
"The beauty of your first school festival…" Mina sighed, clasping her hands together.
"But first," Hitomi said, clenching her fist. "I want food."
"Eh? But we already ate two hours ago…" Sero laughed.
"My food's already digested!" Hitomi exclaimed, shaking him. "Yakisoba stands! Crepe stands! There's so much to see and do! Do whatever you guys want, but I'm going! See you later!"
With that, she ran off on her own, leaving the Bakusquad in the dust.
"She's like a little kid at a carnival," Kirishima laughed.
…
Hitomi squinted in concentration as she folded the piece of paper, twirling the bottom onto the top of the hair stick as the hot glue dried. She smiled in satisfaction, holding it up. "Done!" she exclaimed.
After Hitomi had gotten some snacks to eat, the first thing she'd decided to check out was the origami studio set up by Class 1-D.
One of their students bent down beside her, eyeing Hitomi's origami flower. "That's a cute hair pin, Kanetsukabe-san!"
Hitomi smiled, pulling some of her hair back and sticking the pin through it to keep it in place. "Thanks for the tutorial," she said with a small bow as she got up out of her chair. "I'll be heading out now."
"Ah, have fun!" the student called after her, waving as Hitomi shut the door.
She leaned against it, sighing to herself. She had a giddy feeling in her chest, staring at the ground as students walked by. She'd hardly done anything since the festival started, but she was already having a lot of fun.
With a resolute huff, she pushed herself off the door, pulling out her directory.
Gotta decide what to do next!
