Chapter 6
As always, my weekend after going out with the class consisted in training, listening to music, showering and sleeping, I'm boring like that but I like the routine
On Monday I was walking towards the classroom when I hear someone call me
"Hey Jiro- san good morning" it was Ochaco that came to school early I waved to her and waited for her
"Good morning Uraraka-san, how are you?" I greeted her
"I'm great thanks so how was your weekend?" she asked
"well nothing interesting I just trained and listened to some music what about yours?" I said truthfully
"after we had our date with class b I didn't do much either just watched some tv shows, but I was wondering if you maybe would want to go have a coffee or tea after school with me?" she asked
"that sounds nice I would love to" I told her, she smiled at me and then said
"then it's a date" I blushed at her selection of words but didn't said anything
When we reached the class, everyone was already there we waved everyone, and we went to take our sits
"Good morning Yamomo" I smiled at her
"Good morning Jiro, are you ready for a new week of learning?" she asked me
"Yep, but only if you still help me with the difficult parts hahahah" I answered
"Always" she simply said before Dad entered the room, he seemed tired and I was confused since on Sunday he went to sleep at like 9pm
"Good morning class, today we will have to choose the class president so if anyone has a candidate please raise your hand to tell the class or if you want to propose yourself as the class president also raise your hand and tell the class why you would want to be the president, meanwhile I will take a short nap so be sure to not disturb me" he finished, I wonder what has him this tired
"So I would like to propose Deku as the president, he was really manly and calmed on the exercise and he is also one of the tops of the class so I think he would be great for the role" Kirishima said
I guess Deku could be a good class president, but I also know of someone that would love to be the class press so
"I would like to propose Yaoyarozu-san as the president, she is the smartest one here and I believe she would take the best decision for the group" I said while Momo blushed at my statement
"And I would like to propose Iida-san since I believe his sense of right or wrong can be the best for the class, and because he would always have everything in order and that's what we need on our president it doesn't matter how cool or smart someone is if we don't have the order" Ochaco said, I don't know what made her said that but it seemed like she was mad at something, I wondered what happened since when we talked this morning she was happy
At the end we end up having to vote between those 3 after the final votes were counted it ended in:
Deku: 15 votes
Momo: 3 votes
Iida: 2 votes
"ok so it's settled the new president of the class is Midoriya-san" Dad said getting up from his sleeping bag that I wondered where he got it from
"T-thanks everyone I will try and do my best" it seemed like poor Deku was really shy and didn't really wanted to be the president but not much could be done now, after that we continued with our class till it was time to go have lunch at the cafeteria I went to sit at Ochaco's, Iida's and Deku's table since Momo was sitting with Todoroki, Mina, Toru, Kaminari and Kirishima so her table was full, it also reminded me what Mina had said on our first gathering of how Momo could like Todoroki it made me feel Jealous thinking of them together but I guess if that's what Momo wanted I would have to respect her decisions, and to be fair I was still not sure of how I feel about Momo or if she was even into girls, hell I wasn't even sure I was into girls
"Hey guys do you mind if I sit here?" I asked
"No, please do sit here" Ochaco smiled at me, it seemed that whatever made her mad earlier was gone now
"So, we are still on for later right Uraraka-san?" I asked her
"yes, of course why wouldn't we?" she asked me
"Well earlier you seemed mad so I thought that maybe you would prefer to have our meeting another day" I answered
"oh, it was nothing don't worry about that, but thanks for noticing I guess that means you care" she said
"of course, I care, you are my friend Uraraka-san and a lovely person" I told her, and she blushed a little
"thanks, Kyoka, can I call you that?" she asked me
"of course, I don't see why not, if I can call you Ochaco as well" I smiled, she smiled so hard I was sure that should have hurt
"sure!" was all she said
"hey! Don't let us out of your conversation, we also want to be your friends Jiro-san" Deku said
"Well then must get to know each other Midoriya-san but I believe we all can become friends in class 1-A" I told him and frankly I did believe that even if we had different personalities on the core we were all aiming to become heroes and they were all nice, we of course will have the people we are more affine to but that won't mean we will not care about the others, or that's what I think
"How about we start with what are your favorite animals' dogs or cats?" Iida-san asked me
"I haven't really had a dog so I must say a Cat since where I live, we have one called Salem and he is a cutie always asking for pets or treats" I told him
"I live in a small department with my mom, so we don't really have neither, but I like dogs they are just so fluffy" Midoriya-san said
"I think both are cute and I would love to have either one" Ochaco said
"I'm a cat man myself so I guess we have something in common there Jiro-san" Iida-san said
"What about your parents? what to they do for a living? Are they heroes too?" Midoriya-san asked
"My parents run a construction business but well it's not going that well, so I want to help them" Ochaco said
"My parent are heroes as well as my big brother I want to become a pro hero like all of them and bring honor to my family" Iida-san said
"Well my mom is a fulltime mom and my dad work on a big company but I'm not really sure what he does, I will be hopefully the first pro hero of the family" Midoriya said
I didn't want to answer and thankfully I didn't had to since an alarm went off we didn't know if it was planned or what but everyone started running towards the exit despite Midoriya's-san best effort to try and make us evacuate in order at some point Iida-san was able to control the mass and made us leave in peace and order, in the end it had been an accident that the alarms have went of but Iida-san had left an impact on us so when we went back to class Midoriya-san resigned his place as the class president and let Iida-san have it, we were all happy with the outcome and the day went on as if nothing had happened
After class Ochaco and I went to this little coffee shop that was near the UA
"what do you want to drink, it's my treat" I said
"you don't have to" she told me
"I know but I want to so what do you want?" I asked again
"thanks..., I want a cappuccino" she said, so I went to the counter and asked for a cappuccino and a hot chocolate, and they told me they would deliver it to our table so I paid, thanked them and went back to sit with Ochaco
"they said they would bring us our drinks" I told her
"oh that's great" she said
After an awkward silence I was the first one to speak
"I'm sorry I haven't been able to be with you these past weeks but with everything that has been happening it is hard" I started
"oh don't worry I get it we have been meeting more people and I wouldn't like for you to miss the experience of meeting others because of me" she said
"well I still should have made some time for you, so I'm sorry, so tell me how has it be going with the person you wanted to get to know the one that catch your eye?" I asked
"it... hasn't been as good as I would want, they have been getting closer and closer to this girl, that I'm not sure I can compete with, it's like in their eyes no one else existed" she was getting sad while saying this and I felt bad for her so I said
"Well then it's their loss if they can't see that you are one of the best persons to be around then they are more blind that I am" I stated
She blushed and said "thanks, I'm glad to hear that, but what if this other girl is actually better both in personality and well... body" she said
"if you like this person then you should try and get near them, only then you will know for sure if they like this girl or not, maybe they are just friends and you can get with them also if the person you like only goes after the physical attributes of a person I am glad you won't get with them since they would be a jerk and you deserve better" Why would she be so afraid of this girl she talks about
"guess I will have to try, thanks Jiro your words always cheer me up" she then grabbed my hand ad gently stroke it with her thumb I guess she was really grateful for my cheering but it was the truth anyone would be lucky to have Ochaco as their friend or more as well as Momo she is so nice, so smart, so beautiful I just wish the person she was trying to get to know was me instead of him, *sigh* I do really need to have a chat with myself sort this feelings out, I mean it's not like I would tell her or anything but I need to know for myself
I was so lost in thought about Momo that I didn't noticed Ochaco continued stroking my hand till our drinks were gone and it was time to go home
"thanks again for coming here with me, I had a great time we should do this again soon" Ochaco said
"I had a good time too, thanks for inviting me and yes we definitely should, have a safe way home" I told her
The next morning, I was feeling like shit, I must have sleep like 2 or 3 hrs at max since I was trying to figure how I felt about Momo and ended with the conclusion that I might have a crush on her but what worried me the most what that my dad didn't come home last night where was he when I needed him to figure out my feelings
After grabbing an onigiri for breakfast I went to school, on my way I meet with Momo
"Oh Kyoka-san are you all right you look pretty tired" she said
"Yes, thanks it's just that something weird happened last night" I said
"But are you ok?" she asked
"yes, I am thanks for asking" I said
"I'm glad, so what did you do yesterday after school?" she asked she seemed rather curious on that we don't usually talk about that since what we do is either train or study
"well Ochaco invited me to have some hot chocolate with her, so we went after class" I answered
"oh so did you had a good time with her?" she asked
"well yes we talked about how we haven't had time to be we each other and I gave her advise on who she wants to get near to" I said
"I see, well that's great I have been wanting to ask you if you want of course I would love to show you this library I love to go to, I asked them and they do have some books on braille and some audio books to so we could go if you want to" she started playing with her hands because she was embarrassed
"I would love to! I haven't been able to read that much lately and with your company it would only be better" I said
"well then we could go tomorrow after school what do you think?" she asked
"that would be perfect" I said, and she started smiling which made me smile *gosh I love her smile*
That day after my brief interaction with Momo went by like any day we just had class, then lunch, then class and today Dad told me that we needed to go home together
On Wednesday after classes I was nervous since it was my hang out with Momo, this was the first time we were alone together the library was not that big and it was a little far from the school but it was cozy and you could read there and even get a cup of tea to drink while you read and I found that pretty cool
After choosing a book that I wanted to read and choosing a table for Momo and myself we started reading comfortably until she went to my side and asked
"how do you read it?"
"you see this dots in here?" I said pointing to the page "they are not just random dots they represent words" I grabbed her hand and gently passed it through the words so she could feel the difference between each one
"Do you think you could teach me how to read it?" she asked
"sure" was all I said but I was really glad she was interested in this part of me as well before asking her for a pen and a blank paper so I could start explain, the next hours we started with the basic of braille till the librarian told us they were about to close
"Are you sure you don't want to stay at my home, you could always sleep on the guest room" she said
"Thanks, but I have some errands I must do at home" I said
"then please be careful it's pretty late, have a safe way home and I will see you tomorrow" she proceeded then to hug me which I gladly accepted and returned before going my own way
It was pretty late when I got to my street, as I started walking towards our apartment, I started hearing footsteps behind me I tried to hurry home but the steps were going at my pace so I stopped and said
"who is there?"
There was no answer, but I could hear a heartbeat, I was getting scared what if it was a villain, what would I do then
"I know you are there I can hear your heartbeat stop hiding, show yourself"
I said again but when I turned around to confront them there was no one there, and I couldn't hear the heartbeat anymore, that had scared me enough to run to my house into my room (after locking the door) and hide under my blankets, Dad was not home yet he must had some hero work to do but that would mean I was alone, scared and there was someone spying on me
I tried to ignore it, tried to distract myself with music or Salem but I couldn't, I stayed up and alert all I could but at some point, the tiredness beat me, and I fell asleep
