This is Pokeshipping and even though I stay being an Advanceshipper, I still think this will be fun so let's do this. I've got BIG plans for Misty.

Chapter 2: First Step!

Ash and Pikachu stepped onto Route 1, ready to begin their adventure.

"Alright Pikachu, why don't we get to know each other?" Ash asked his yellow partner. Pikachu groaned.

"My name is Ashton Ketchum, but everyone calls me Ash. I love Pokemon a lot and my dream is to be a Pokemon Master!" Ash said happily.

"I'm Pikachu, I don't like humans and I don't like you." Pikachu squeaked plainly, hopping off Ash's shoulder.

Ash now angry, began to yell.

"Hey! Why don't you like me Pikachu? I didn't do anything to you! I'm trying my best here! You're supposed to be my trusted partner!"

"I don't care. I only came with you because you can understand me. I'd have ditched you at the lab otherwise."

"Well screw you Pikachu! I'll be the very best with or without your help!" Ash shouted. Ash then ran off looking for a Pokemon.

After a while of searching, he found a Pokemon. It was a cream and brown covered bird with a small pink beak.

"Awesome a Pidgey!" Ash said in awe.

"Alright, here I go! Pokeball go!" Ash threw the small red device at the bird, the Pidgey squawked in surprise as it was sucked into the Pokeball. It shook once, twice, and then three times. And then with a small ding, the Pidgey was caught.

Ash's Pokedex beeped "Congratulations! You just caught a Pidgey!"

Gender: Female

Nature: Bold

Ability: Tangled Feet

Moves: Tackle, Gust, Sand Attack, and Quick Attack.

"OH YEAH! I DID IT I DID IT I DID IT! LOOK PIKACHU MY FIRST CAPTURE!" Ash celebrated.

"Wow, he actually caught something." Pikachu thought.

"Alright, come on out Pidgey!" Ash said, glee clear in his voice. The cream-colored bird came out of the pokeball and looked toward its new trainer and teammate.

"Hi there Pidgey, my name's Ash! I'm your new trainer!" Ash introduced himself.

"Run away while you can Pidgey!" Pikachu chided.

"You be quiet! Anyways, would you like to help me become a Pokemon Master?" Ash asked. Pidgey smiled and nodded.

"Awesome, welcome to the team!" Ash said happily. "That's Pikachu over there, but he's a real grouch."

"My goal is to be as strong as the leader of my flock. Recently, she kicked me out because I was too weak." Pidgey said sadly.

"Well then I'll make you super strong!"

"By the way, he understands our speech."

Pidgey looked surprised that a human understood her but was happy to be able to communicate freely.

"Alright, guys, it's getting late, let's set up camp." Ash said as it started to rain.

Ash reached into his bag and pulled out a sleeping bag, a small pot, some berries, and a match.

"Alright, guys we all have to pitch in for dinner. Pikachu, go take the pail in my backpack and get some water, Pidgey find some twigs for firewood, and I'll get the tent set up."

Both Pokemon obeyed, but Pikachu only for the fact that he was getting hungry as well. With the teamwork of all them, Ash made a delicious Oran Berry stew.

"Alright guys dig in!" Ash said, sharing out some small bowls. Pikachu was surprised at the fact that even though Ash may be incompetent at times, he was a good cook. Both Pokemon drank all of their stew in seconds.

"Alright, I'm pretty tired. I'm going to go to sleep, goodnight guys!" Ash said, passing out in the sleeping bag.

"Finally. Come on Pidgey let's ditch him." Pikachu said.

"Why would we do that? I like Ash, he's nice and he's a good cook." Pidgey replied

"Oh please he's a bumbling idiot that's going to get us and himself killed. I'm not sticking around with this loser."

"Hey! That's not nice! You know what, if you want to leave, then fine! But I'm sticking with Ash you jerk!" Pidgey squawked angrily.

"Ash is a new trainer and he's trying his best! He just wants to be your friend but you keep being mean!"

"Fine. I'll leave without you!" Pikachu responded.

Pidgey flew right next to Ash in the tent and snuggled up next to him.

Pikachu, running in the night, was contemplating what Pidgey said. Did he really not give Ash a chance to prove himself? He thought of the excitement in Ash's face when he saw him in the lab, the smile he had when he accepted him as his partner, and the joy in his eyes hanging out with him and Pidgey.

Most of all, he thought of the promise he made to Ash's mother. As he was running, he accidentally ran directly into a Spearow.

"Sorry about that." Pikachu said, trying to move on. However, the Spearow now angry, began to attack with Fury Attack.

"Hey, I said sorry! But fine! Take this then!" Pikachu exclaimed, releasing a powerful Thundershock making direct contact with Spearow.

The Spearow, now even more angry , let out a loud cry, attracting a whole flock of hundreds of Spearow.

"Crap!" Pikachu ran away as fast as he could, but the huge flock caught up and started attacking with Peck and Fury Attack.

Despite being attacked, Pikachu kept running until he ran into a dead end on a cliff.

"What do I do? I can't beat all of them." Pikachu thought with worry.

"HEY STOP IT!" A voice yelled from a distance.

Pikachu, bruised and battered in the rain, looked towards the direction of the voice. To his surprise, it was Ash and Pidgey.

"I won't let you hurt my partner! Pidgey, use Quick Attack!" Ash commanded. Pidgey coated itself in a light blue tint and tackled some of the Spearow. However, all of the Spearow attacked as well, taking out Pidgey with a combination of Tackle and Peck.

Pidgey then fell to the ground, also damaged.

"Pidgey!" Ash ran to his bird Pokemon and picked her up. "Thanks buddy you did good." Ash thanked.

The Spearow, still angry went to attack the trio. Ash grabbed Pikachu and Pidgey and held them close, turning his back on the Spearow as they ruthlessly attacked him.

"I-I won't let them hurt you guys. Don't worry guys it'll be okay!" Ash reassured. Pikachu, now with tears in his eyes, leaped out of Ash's arms and went to face the Spearow.

Pikachu leaped high into the air and unleashed a powerful Thunderbolt so powerful that it defeated all the Spearow and blasted them away.

Pikachu fell to the ground and slowly walked towards Ash, crying into his arms.

"I'm so sorry. For everything, I almost killed you guys. I'm so sorry Ash. I want to be your partner again. Please." Pikachu cried.

Ash and Pidgey, also with tears in their eyes, both embraced Pikachu.

"Of course Pikachu, you're my partner. We care about you and we'll get stronger together." Ash said happily. Due to the rain and powerful thunderbolt, a huge rainbow appeared in the now clear blue sky.

"Wow it's already day!" Ash exclaimed.

During the rainbow, an extremely beautiful golden bird flew into the sky above. Ash and his team watched in awe as the bird soared during the rainbow.

"Well guys, we're all tired. Let's make our way to Viridian City." Ash said.

Pikachu and Pidgey nodded as the trio made their way to the next town.
