Hello everyone, as always I hope you are all fine, I hope you like this chapter, this one hits home with me really hard because of the end that's what i wished had happened in my life *sigh* but anyway, i send you all love!
Momo's POV
It was 6 pm and I was recording another commercial with Uwabami and Itsuka, I was not enjoying this internship at all regarding the hero "work", but I wouldn't complain about Uwabami-san she was really nice, I have never been a fan of cameras or being in front of people like this, for them to only value me for my physics and not my personality or my intelligence, we were behind Uwabami holding a type of cream smiling like there was no tomorrow while she was trying to look as "sexy" as she could for the camara, when the director yelled
"And that's it, wonderful job girls this commercial will be amazing" he said with his cheeks turning pink and I couldn't help but roll my eyes
"just 2 days more of this right?" Itsuka whispered me while looking annoyed as well
"I wish my quirk was to control time so this could end faster at the recordings, but at least we have a good time with Uwabami when we are here right? do you want to have some tea?" I asked her smiling to what she nodded
We had to wait till we got to Uwabami house, she had told us after recording we would have the night for ourselves since she had a party to attend one that minors couldn't go so here we were preparing a nice jasmine tea
"So how is class 1-b doing?" in all these 3 days we haven't really talked about school since Uwabami would take us from recording to recording till we ended up so tired that we would get home to sleep only and on mornings when we were not recording Uwamabi would tell us stories of her hero works, or we would watch a movie with her, in all honesty it was as if we were on vacation rather than an internship but at least it helped me take my mind off the events that had going on in my life, the villains attacking us, the festival, the fight between Shoto and Jirou, everything
"they are nice kids, even Monoma with his comments and all, he is just a little too eccentric and has a hate towards your class, I believe he is just jealous to be honest, your class has the strongest 1st year students, at least from the results of the festival" she seemed a little nostalgic about that, I don't understand why she was comparing our classes we all had the same goal after all
"I believe we shouldn't compare us at all, we all have the same goal after all, we want to become heroes and that's the important thing, and besides someone once told me that even if we are not as strong as our schoolmates that only means we are the ones that can improve the most, and I believe that's true" I said
"You are right Yaoyarozu-san if we only think about how others are better that us we could become resentful and that's not a good trait for a hero, thank you for your words" Itsuka said
"I'm glad that we are together in this even if it sucks that we aren't doing any hero work, you are very kind and strong Yaoyarozu-san as well as Uwabami-san and besides you make a great tea" she laughed at the final part which I followed
"I have been teach how to brew tea since I was able to walk, so I would be a suitable fit for my future husband" I sighed
"that's rough, so are your parents old fashioned?"
"My father is, my mother on the other hand I don't really know since she never went against my dad's wishes but her face would tell me she was not comfortable with some things" I said and that was true when my father had suggested that I had to become the perfect wife for Shoto my mother's face would show regret and anger but she never outed a word
"Have you spoke to her to see how she feels? Maybe she is scared of confronting your dad, times had changed but our parents grew with other thoughts" she smiled at me and I knew she was right, maybe I could talk with my mother to see if she felt as I did
"I haven't but I will try talking with her when we comeback and maybe just maybe we can call my arranged marriage over, thanks Itsuka-san" I said hopeful
"arranged marriage, wow haven't heard of one like ever and I'm guessing you don't like the person they want you to marry right?" she asked me
"he is not that bad, he is actually my friend but even if he is nice, he just isn't my type" Itsuka nodded and said
"I get it, when I was in middle school everyone told me I should date this guy that liked me, he was nice with me, he would help me whenever he could but I was not feeling it, I did try dating him thought just to make people shut up but it was over as quickly as it started, sometimes it's better to be honest with yourself than trying to force things" she said
I agreed with her and we continued enjoying our tea in silence, that was until my phone buzzed, I apologized to her since this was a bonding time for us and checked it, it was a live location, Jirou had sent it which was really strange, she never sends anything to the chat, I opened the location to see that she was at Hosu, what was she doing there?, had she send the location by accident? But Jirou wasn't like that was she in danger?
"Itsuka-san can you turn on the T.V. and put on the news please?" Itsuka was confused at my request but did it anyway
On the screen we saw shots taken from a helicopter, it was a city that was on fire, the cameraman then focused on an old looking hero fighting what seemed to be a Nomu, the hero was so fast, he wasn't giving the Nomu a rest and after beating It, Endeavor appeared to fry it, since Endeavor was there I knew Shoto had to be near him since he was doing his internship with him, but he was no where to be found at least on the takes the cameraman was taking
"You are watching live footage from the villain attack in Hosu, many pro heroes have responded to the distress call of the citizens and are doing their best to control the chaos monsters are creating, all the information with my partner Raiku who is at the crime scene" the image changed and now a man stand in front of a camara, he started telling how this was the worst attack Hosu has suffered in years
I quickly sent a message to the group
Mo: "Is everyone alright? Please report on this chat if you are ok"
Ur: "I'm alright"
Tsu: "same with me *kero*"
One by one all the class reported they were fine, all but 3 people those being Shoto, Iida and Kyouka, I was worried since Kyoka had sent her location and she was in Hosu I hoped she was ok but I probably won't get response soon
"is everything ok?" Itsuka-san asked me
"It's just that one of my friends sent her location, and she is there in Hosu, I also saw Endeavor which means Todoroki is there too, so I asked everyone to report on our chat obviously those 2 didn't report along with our class rep" I bit my lip, thinking on how could I help them
"I know what you are thinking and I will tell you that you can't do anything right now, we are very far from Hosu and even if we got there in time we would probably be in the way of the pro heroes saving the day, I believe it's the best to wait for your friends to reply to your message, but if you prefer I will keep you company till then" I sighed and nodded
We waited and waited for a reply but there was none, I was growing more and mor anxious with every hr that passed
Itsuka-san had even made me promise I would leave the phone on the table till someone called me, at some point Itsuka had fallen asleep on the couch while I was walking back and forward in the department
If I kept this up I would probably make a hole in the carpet and then my phone buzzed, I jumped for it and was half disappointed it was a private message from Shoto
S: "we are fine"
Mo: "what do you mean "we", are you with Jirou? Or with Iida-san?"
S:" I'm with both"
Mo: "omg! I'm so relieved, are you ok? Where are you? Are you with your father too?"
S:"no, the old man is at home, I am fine, I will tell you where we are but don't freak ok?"
Just reading that I was freaking out
Mo: "tell me already Shoto"
S: "We are at the Hosu hospital, we were caught in a fight with one of the villains and even thought the villain was captured in the end, we barley made it"
Mo: "oh god, how badly are you all injured? Actually don't respond that I'm going there now"
S: "Momo relax, yes we were injured but we are alive and fine in general, we were placed on a room to rest, and even if you came here it's not visiting hours"
Mo: "I don't care I'm going there so I can yell at you both for being so irresponsible, why would you engage a fight with a Nomu, you saw that things when All Might fought it you should have let the pro heroes handle it"
S: "calm down, it was not a Nomu, it was... The hero killer"
Like if that made it better, he was named that for a reason! I was so glad they were alive but why couldn't they let the pros handle it
Mo: "..."
S: "It's not like we wanted to fight him, from what I have gathered Iida-san did want to fight him and saw the opportunity when the killer was about to kill a pro but he was injured and was unable to fight, that's when Jirou found him and couldn't leave him to be killed so she fight him but got caught on his quirk that must I tell you was a pain to deal with, he could make you unable to move if he tasted your blood, and that's where I entered and saved both but then I was in trouble and Jirou had to save me and well the rest is history"
If the villain had to taste blood for their quirk to activate he must have injured iida make him not move and then injure Jirou but how serious was the injure?
Mo: "how badly were you all injured?"
S: "well, Iida-san has both of his arms in casts and has bandages on his legs, Jirou-san has her arm in a cast, and bandages in her stomach and legs, and as for me I have bandages on my shoulder and arms 😊, that's it"
Mo: "that's it? That's it?! I'm going to kill you all for making me worry this much *sigh* but that will have to wait, I'm glad you all are ok now"
S: "you are gladder you girlfriend is fine, don't lie to me"
Mo: "she isn't my girlfriend and no Shoto I'm glad you ALL are ok"
S: "mhm, so you wouldn't want to visit her on Saturday right?"
Mo: "can I do that?"
S: "Well you would have to ask your guardian but she isn't being released from the hospital till that day so you know where she will be"
Mo: "oh thanks Shoto I will have to ask Uwabami-san but that's a wonderful idea, but what about Iida and you wouldn't you both be there?"
S:"I get discharged on Friday same as Iida"
Mo: ":o"
S:"yes, the perfect opportunity for you to be alone with her"
Mo: "thanks for telling me all this Shoto I will be able to rest now"
S: "talking about rest, that's what I will do now, talk to you soon, bye"
Mo:" goodnight Shoto"
After writing to Shoto I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding I carefully lifted Itsuka-san and placed her on her bed so she could rest better and I went to sleep myself since it was 12am already
-The next day-
I woke up at 8 am sharp and went to look for Uwabami-san, she was still asleep so I went to the kitchen to prepare some breakfast, in there I found a note from Uwabami saying:
"girls please prepare a glass of water and 2 Tylenol for me, they are in the top right kitchen drawer, you are sunshines thanks" I did as the note said and prepared coffee and tea, coffee for Uwabami since I have noticed she drinks it every morning and tea for Itsuka and myself, I also cut some fresh fruit for all of us and prepared eggs and bacon
Uwabami and Itsuka woke up shortly after I had finished preparing the breakfast, I believed the smell woke them so I smiled at them
"please sit and eat, everything is ready"
"I get that you did got notice from your friends since you are in such a good mood" Itsuka-san said while taking a seat and started eating her melon
"What does she mean?" Uwabami asked while taking her pills
"oh well you see yesterday there was chaos going on at Hosu and I got notice that 3 of my classmates were there, I was worried they had been involved in the fights, to which I was right by the way" I said
"I see, I did know about the Hosu incident, someone mention it yesterday I heard many Nomus had been defeated and even the hero killer got apprehended, but are your friends alright?" Uwabami said
"Well yes and no, they are fine but they did get involved in the fights and are at the hospital at the moment"
"oh that's awful how long will they stay there?" Itsuka asked
"2 of the will be there till Friday and the last one on Saturday"
"Well our internship ends on Saturday afternoon since you got here on Sunday buuuuuut there is nothing planned on Saturday so I could let you both go early would that be ok with you? To see 1 of your friends at least?, but please report to your teacher telling them that you are going home that you have finished your internship with me that day in the morning and that I would send my reports later" she winked at me, wow Uwabami would do that for me? that was really nice of her,
It shouldn't surprise me since in all this internship she would always invite us to eat, never complained we were living with her, and would talk with us in the evenings, or we would watch movies, and was now offering me to go see Kyoka
I smiled wide at her and nodded
"that would be wonderful thank you so much Uwabami-san, you don't have to do this and yet you are being really nice to me" I said
"in hero work, it's a daily occasion that someone get hurts, but when it's a friend... well I get how worried you can be, more if you are in the other side of the city, sadly pro heroes can't leave their base that easily, so take the change to make strong bonds with your friends, because later on you might have not the chance" she seemed melancholic
"I sure your friends are there for you too, so why don't you give them a call?" she was surprised at that but said
"do you think they will answer my call?"
"I believe they will so why don't you give it a shoot" Itsuka nodded and I smiled at her, Uwabami smiled at us and went to her room for a while, 1 hour later she came out of her bedroom smiling brightly
"they said yes to meet up, and that they had missed me too, thank you girls! That deserves an ice cream and a movie, since we don't have to record till 4 pm, does that sound good?" she proceeded to hug us and we nodded, we decided in watching "the notebook" because we were hopeless romantics, I knew Uwabami was not the typical hero but I was starting like her more and more on this internship, I still hated her work thought, and wouldn't want to do it myself but I guess someone had to do it
Tsuyu POV
When I signed to the internship I considered my options cautiously and decided since my quirk works better on water I would try and do it over the marine, I was assigned to 2 tutors Selkie and Sirius they were both nice with me, my duty consisted in cleaning the ship which was a hard work but it was entertaining at least, it was the 4th day of the internship and the day before Jirou had sent her location and Momo had asked us to report if we were alright, Todoroki-san, Iida-san and Jirou-san had never responded, that must mean something had happened
I was distracted doing my chores when Sirius came to my side
"if you keep rubbing that spot you will make a dent on the ship" she said giggling
"oh sorry I didn't mean to; I was just distracted kero" I said stopping rubbing the deck and went on to dry it
"what's on your mind Tsu-chan? Do you mind if I call you that?" I smiled
"it's ok if you want to call me that, I was thinking about this thing that happened over chat with my classmates, you see someone that never speaks on the chat sent their location, and then another person asked us to report if we were fine but we never got confirmation from 3 persons, one of them being that sent their location kero" I said
"that's worrying indeed, so is there a reason why this person doesn't talk over the chat, is it that they don't want to or is it something else? Maybe it was sent by accident" she suggested and I thought about it for a second, Jirou-san doesn't seem the kind of person that wouldn't want to deal with us, but then again I thought about the fact that we had learnt that she was blind, I haven't really thought that much of it since she seemed to do everything as anyone else thanks to her quirk but of course she wouldn't be able to see what was written on the chat and even if she had an advance cellphone that could read it to her she would have to send us all audios
"I believe she doesn't wants to bother anyone since she would have to send audios to respond to us, and I don't think it was sent by accident, I mean it could have been but then my other friend wouldn't have asked us to report kero" I said
"well maybe after your chores are done we could check the location and see if there are news about it, would that be better for you?" I nodded and smile
"that would be great, thanks Sirius" I said while continuing my chores
After finishing drying the deck I asked Sirius
"Is being a hero always like this? Working on the boat?"
"I know it doesn't seem to be the great adventure you have picture since you were young, but if I'm honest with you I wouldn't change where I work for anything and I'm sure that by the end of this internship you will understand the importance of being a hero more with Selkie being the captain he is" Sirius had a great affection towards the captain that was obvious but I wondered if her words would become true
"and what would that be?" I asked and she smiled
"that's something you have to discover on your own as I did"
"why are you 2 slacking please return to your duties" it was Selkie that had said that, he was a big half man half seal
"Tsuyu-san here finished her shores and I'm doing my duty of watching over her so we aren't slacking as you see captain" Sirius said while winking at me, Selkie blushed and said
"I apologize then continue doing what you were doing, I will go check the... rudder" it was rather cute to see him like this, he was a nice man
"Captain we got called for a mission from the coast guard" it was one of the crewmates
"tell me all about it on our way, girls take your stalls" Selkie said with a sudden seriousness
I did as I was told and went with Selkie, we were told that this mission was about a cargo that had been stolen, when we got to the ship which cargo was stole, Selkie jumped on the water and used his quirk (I could only see little white waves expanding below us) to locate the villains ship
"that's his echolocation, he is using his voice to produce a wave and when it bounces on an object it would tell him what and where it was" so that was it, Selkie than got out of the water and told us
"they are not far from us, crew set the cruise towards the east, and wait for future orders"
The crew did as they were told and after going for about 30 minutes we could see the ship in the distance
"crew prepare to go with me and board that ship, Tsuyu-san stay here please and Sirius-san stay here as well and protect Tsuyu-san if anything happens" the captain said, I was a little sad I wouldn't be able to fight villains to try and learn from this but I could comprehend why was he doing this, I was still a student and could either get on the way or get injured
"all right captain, please stay safe" Sirius said, but her face said that she wanted to go as well
We stayed on the boat not saying anything for 20 minutes, not knowing what was happening till Sirius got up
"all right captain, copied" I had no idea why she was saying that but she then turned to me
"the captain spoke to me, the boat they are in was a trap, they were captured but he said he found a way to get out, he asked us to go find the real ship that has the stolen cargo and retriever it, get ready to fight Tsu-chan only if necessary don't engage unnecessary fights" she said and I nodded
We went to the west where we found a boat behind a rock hiding in there we could see the stolen cargo, but no one was around or that's what we thought, Sirius jumped on the other boat carefully to take the cargo
"Captain we have the cargo it's on..." Sirius was speaking over a microphone but from the rock in a camouflaged was a person half octopus half man, he jumped on Sirius grabbing her and threatened her with a knive while grabbing the microphone
"Sirius!" I said ready to attack him, the octopus then grabbed the microphone and brought it near me
"If you want your friend here to live you will tell your crew to stop the search" I looked over at Sirius and I pondered on my options, I could let this guy go and Sirius and I would be safe but whatever was stole would be probably gone for good, and what if it was something that could endanger others? Could I do that?
And on the other hand I could give the captain the point we were in trust that he could get away from where he had been trapped and try and save Sirius, it would be too risky but would I save myself or potential victims, then I remembered Sirius words "that's something you have to figure yourself, like I did" and her smile
I knew what I had to do
"Captain.. we are on the west behind a rock that is hiding the boat please come as soon as you can kero" I then jumped and kicked the villain going up on the rock
"you little pest come back here I will make you pay" I was calculating how could I save Sirius now, the octopus had her but he was distracted with me right now maybe if I grabbed her with my tongue I could get her out of his grip
I tried doing just that but the villain grabbed my tongue just as it was about to get to Sirius, he then proceeded to slam me against the rock he jumped to me with his knive in hand
"why, why couldn't you let me go away, why did you had to tell them now you will perish here along with your friend" he said
"because caring only for my wellbeing it's not what a hero is, beside I trust in my captain" I said and prepared myself for the attack
But just then the captain jumped out of the water and punched the guy making him drop me, I landed on the boat with Sirius
"are you alright Tsu-chan?" Sirius asked me while the captain dragged an unconscious octopus to the boat
"Don't you ever touch my crew again" I smiled at them, they were very protective but I get what Sirius was telling me that day, being a hero is not about capturing all the villains, and having numerous adventures, it was that on the crucial moments you would do the right thing not mattering if you would put yourself in danger
When we got back to the shore we were greeted by the police who congratulated us on capturing the villains and they even thanked me for helping the crew after they left we had dinner and I went to watch the stars where Sirius found me
"Thank you for helping me today Tsu-chan"
"And thank you for making me realize what a hero really is, I have learn a lot from you guys" she smiled and spoke
"well when you graduate, you can always come to us if you want, I'm sure the captain would be glad to have such a strong hero with us" I then nodded
"but before that how about we go check that location of yours and see if your friends are alright" I nodded my head and followed Sirius to her dorm where we read on the news that Hosu had been attacked the day before and that endeavor had saved the day defeating Nomus and even getting the hero killer himself behind bars, according to the news there were no casualties on the attack, but many people were at the hospital recovering from mild injuries but there was no news about my friends, I then thanked Sirius, went back to my room and sent a message to the person I thought would know if they were ok
Tsu: "Sorry to bother you Yaoyarozu-san but I was wondering if you got news from Todoroki-san, Iida-san or Jirou-san kero"
Mo: "oh good night Tsuyu-san, thank you for your concern I do in fact know that they are well now, Todoroki san and Iida-san got discharged from the hospital today, and Jirou-san will be discharged tomorrow, no injuries to be worry about 😊"
Tsu: "thank you for telling me, I was worried something had happened to them and the news never mention them"
Mo: "you are welcome, but now I must sleep Tsuyu-san tomorrow I will go visit Jirou-san, so have a goodnight"
I have known for a while that Momo liked Jirou and that Jirou liked Momo they were not really good at hiding it, the other girls beside Uraraka didn't notice it since they didn't believe Momo could like girls since she doesn't fit on the stereotype, but I wished them both the best, I myself had found myself wanting to get near someone, but I wondered if they would even want the same
With her invading my thoughts I went to sleep hoping that maybe just maybe she could feel the same at some point
Momo's POV
It was Saturday morning when I said my goodbyes to Uwabami-san and Itsuka-san, I quickly sent a message to Aizawa-sensei letting him know I had finished my internship and went on my way to the Hosu Hospital
I got there at 11 am so that means I would have to see Jirou on her room and wait with her till she was discharged
"Good morning, could you please tell me in which room could I find Jirou Kyoka" I asked as nicely as I could the information nurse
"what's the reason you are visiting and what's your name?" she asked me ready to note in on her notebook
"My name is Yaoyarozu Momo and I'm just visiting my friend" she nodded and noted it
"go to room 3567" it's on the third floor on the left, I nodded and thanked her before going to the room
Before I knocked on the door I heard her laughing
"Gran Torino, I told you already I don't want a Taiyaki right now" she seemed happy
"how will you recover your strength kid if you don't accept sweets from a old man" I heard someone said
Since I don't want it to be seem as if I was spying them I knocked and waited for them to let me enter
"pass, it's open" it was Jirou that said that
When I entered I saw that the person that was speaking with Jirou was the old hero I had saw fighting the Nomu, so that must have been her guardian over the internship
"Momo..." she said, the old hero noticed the tension and got up before saying
"oh look at the hour, it's time for this old man to stretch his legs, I will see you later kid when you go to my house to retriever your stuff, remember if you ever want to train more you know where to find me" he said before leaving the room
"look Momo I know you are mad I got into a fight; Todoroki-san told me he told you what happened and.." I cut her off with a hug
"I don't care about the fight, I'm just glad you are ok, when I saw your location and saw on the news that there was an attack going on the city I was so worried"
"I'm sorry..." was what she said
"no, I'm the sorry one, I have wanted to speak with you for so long Kyoka" I started
"I have wanted to speak with you too honestly, I'm sorry for what happened on the festival, I should have controlled myself better, I just want you to be happy Momo, and if you are happy with Todoroki-san then I will be here for you" he smiled sadly at me
"you don't understand that's what I want to tell you about, I don't like Shoto, I never have" I said
"what? But you were so lovely with each other" she said
"ugh don't remind me, that was because in one of the sleep overs we had Mina had dared me to fake date Shoto, I had to do it for a week, but then on the day of the festival I saw how hurt you were I didn't tell you and I couldn't continue with the fake; we are so used to faking it at home that it probably seemed real to you but it isn't I swear, please can you forgive me?" I said with tears coming to my eyes, I didn't want to lose her as my friend over something so stupid
"of course I forgive you Momo it's not your fault I got jealous" she said
"jealous? Of what?" was she implying what I think she was implying?
"ah... ah... of of... how much time you were spending with him, me as your friend should spend time with you too" she was blushing hard and looked really beautiful like that, I don't know what came over me but I put my forehead on hers till our noses were touching and whispered
"are you sure?" my heart was beating like mad; I couldn't believe I had dared to this much but I was not brave enough to close the gap, what if she didn't felt the same?
"Mo..." Jirou gulped and then said
"no, I was jealous of him, jealous of his hands that got to hug you, of his eyes that got to see you, of him since he got your heart beating for him, of his lips that got to... kiss... you" she said closing the gap, was I dreaming? This must be a dream right?
I closed my eyes and then...
"Miss Jirou-san I'm here to help you get ready so you can leave... Oh sorry am I interrupting anything?" it was a nurse, naturally I jumped to the other side of the bed, I bet I was so red even my ears felt hot
Jirou seemed annoyed we got interrupted but didn't say anything
"I'm sorry miss could you wait outside a little so I can get your... friend? Ready?" I nodded and left the room to let the nurse help Jirou, I still couldn't believe we had almost kiss, does that mean we were a thing now? I would have to wait and ask Jirou that I guess
1 hour later Jirou was discharged from the hospital and while we were on the train to our home no one said a word, I didn't know how I would start the conversation but when we were on our city Jirou asked
"Would.. would you like to go to eat with me?" she said while playing with her hands, I then grabbed her hand and said
"I would love to Kyoka" she smiled at me while blushing a little, we ended up going to eat to a ramen house and after eating a lot for what like it seemed to be an eternity we went for a walk on the park, it was getting dark so there were not that many people on the park
We continued walking without saying anything for about 1 hour till I hold it anymore stopped and said
"so what are we now?" the question surprised Jirou
"What do you want to be?" she asked me
"I.." I took a breath
"I want to be your girlfriend" we both said at the same time, I started blushing
"then I believe it's settled, my beautiful girlfriend" Kyouka said while getting on her tip toes, grabbing my face, and ending what she had started in the hospital, call me corny but I could swear when our lips met I saw fireworks, her lips were so soft inviting me to kiss her till I didn't have more air, she hugged me by the waist and I did the same over her shoulders
After our kiss she took me home like the gentlewoman she was
"I will see you on Monday at school Momo" she pecked my lips and then went away to her home, when I entered my home I couldn't help the smile that was plastered on my face, I was so in my world that I didn't notice my mom being there
"Who was that darling?" she took me out of the trance and I got scared there for a second, what would I tell my parents?... would they accept me?
"that was my friend Jirou-san, the one I told you the other day about" I said
"oh she seemed like a really nice lady; next time tell her I want to meet her personally" My mom never wanted to meet my friends what was happening?
"ah and another thing Momo dear, please tell her that next time she can kiss you as long as she wants" WHAT?!
"what? Aren't you mad? Are you not going to yell?" I was so confused
