Jirou POV
I woke up at 2 am, it was a habit of mine now, after all this time training with All Might and Midnight at 4 am, so thanks to that now I had plenty of time to double check my baggage for the trip, after that I would take a nice and refreshing bath, I should probably shower after being on the bus buuuut I liked being fresh in the morning
After taking my bath I gathered my stuff and meet my dad on the kitchen
"This is your lunch Jirou, and this one is Yaoyarozu's" My dad proceeded to give me 2 bento boxes and 2 bottled green teas
"I thought we said onigiris, isn't this too much food for this early in the morning? Anyway, thanks for doing this for me and my girlfriend dad" I thanked him
"Anything for my girl, now let's go to the bus, I asked everyone to be early so I can tell you the news about the trip" oh god he was grinning, this was bad...
We got to the bus at 7 am sharp, I was surprised even Mina was already there since she is always late, but anyways Dad told us to pick a traveling partner and get on the bus, while we were doing so my dad went to speak with the teacher of class 1-B to see if they were ready as well
"Here is your lunch Momo" I said smiling at her once we were sitting
"Oh wow, thanks Kyouka, I will thank Aizawa-sensei too when he comes back" she said, and I nodded
When Dad came back Momo approached him to thank him to what he smiled
"It's not a problem Yaoyarozu-san, now please go back to sit with Jirou I need to explain some... things about this trip" he was grinning again
"Now that you are all here and that we are about to start our trip, I have to tell you that..." the bus was started, and we were on our way
"This is not a vacation kind of trip, it's actually a training camp trip where you will be pushed past your limit, I hope Kyouka has told you all to have breakfast because as soon as we get to the camp you will meet your teachers and we will start with your training" everyone groaned annoyed about this change, we were expecting to relax now that the term had finish but of course that wouldn't be possible, fuck our luck
"Great now we will train all day and we won't be able to be together" I said sadly
"Hey, don't think like that, we will find the time, ok?" she said kissing my forehead and I blushed
"Ok" was all I said while still blushing
The bus trip was not that bad after all, I got some needed sleep and what's better than to sleep on your girlfriend's shoulder?
We got to the camp 3 hrs later and we got off the bus we were meet by 2 adults and a kid; the adults were smiling at us, but the kid was scowling
"Hohoho, the superior class got here earlier" Monoma started, and I rolled my eyes
"I'm sorry for the troubles he might cause" Itsuka-san said while knocking Monoma out
The adults were about to present themselves when Midoriya-san said
"OMG, they are the professional heroes the Wild Wild Pussycats team, I'm a huge fan, they have saved so many people on the mountains, you guys are incredible" he was fangirling so hard it was quite interesting to watch him squeak
"Tch, Deku being a Deku" Bakugo said
"Wow, thanks kid, not many people recognize us, my name is Mandalay, this is Pixie-Bob" she pointed to the other woman
"And this sweetheart here is Kota" she pointed to the scowling kid
"Welcome to our grounds, for safety reasons regarding the recent villains attacks, we asked for you busses to be delivered here but you will be staying on our headquarters, this location is a secret to heroes and public alike, we hope you have a safe and nice stay with us, we will also be the ones to help with your training along with your teachers, and as students of the UA I expect the best from all of you, now follow me please" Mandalay said
"Oh my god, I can't believe we are going to be trained by them" Deku went again
"You are all losing your time" it was the kid that had said so, Mandalay and Pixie looked at each other but didn't said anything
"What do you mean?" I asked him
"All this about Heroes, to try and become one it's all a waste of time, Heroes shouldn't exist they all just waste their lives" he was so angry, like if Heroes done something to him
"Hey! But Heroes exist to save lives, like yours or mine, they save us from villains, so it's not a waste of..." Deku couldn't finish his comment since the kid kicked his shin, and he grabbed it in pain
"Kota that's enough" Mandalay said
"Whatever you say" the kid went away, not waiting for anyone, Mandalay then sighed
"I'm sorry about my nephew, he hasn't had the best months, but could you bare with him please?" she asked us and we all nodded, even if the kid kicked us, he wouldn't be as bad as Monoma
We then started our way to the headquarters that not surprisingly were not close, we had to walk about 4 hrs to get there, we were tired but we then were told our sleeping arrangements, like dad had said I was not able to sleep with Momo but I was surprised I was the only one to get paired with another class 1-A girl, that being Mina, Momo was staying with Itsuka-san and I guess that was not that bad since they were friends already, Ochaco was staying with Pony-san, Tsu was staying with Shiozaki-san and Tooru was staying with Yanagi-san
We were all given 20 minutes to go to our rooms, leave our stuff there, fresh up and go back to the lobby for our first lesson
"Wow it's bigger than I thought" Mina said after she opened the door, our room has 2 beds, a window next to the left bed and a closet
"It is indeed, so which bed do you want to sleep in?" I asked Mina
"I'm not a big fan of cold so would you mind taking the one next to the window?" she asked me
"I wouldn't mind, actually I would like it very much, it's hot in here" I said matter of fact
"Then it settled" Mina then placed her stuff on her bed
"What do you think they will have us do?" Mina asked me and I just shrugged
"There is only one way to find out" I said
"Always eager to test your strength aren't you?" Mina giggled, and I blushed
"I-it's not like that, I just want to be able to protect everyone..." I said looking down
"You don't need to have that kind of weight on your shoulders Jirou, you are not alone, let make a promise" Mina said
"A promise?" I asked
"Yes, the best of the promises, a pinky promise" she the put her pinky in front of me and I rolled my eyes but held my pinky as well
"Let's promise to be there for everyone as well as for ourselves, to protect each other, and to trust one another ok?" she said and I nodded while making the promise with her
Mina can be a handful, I mean she was loud (not as loud as Bakugo but still), always full of energy, always smiling, but at the same time that was what made her special, and how she went straight to your heart, she was just unique
In all my time at UA I have grown close to each and everyone of the class, but if I had to pick who I liked the most I would say Bakugo, Mina, and Kaminari, of course I am not counting Momo because I am speaking in a friendly way, I like Momo way more than those 3
"Spacing thinking about your girl?" Mina elbowed me lightly playing with me and I blushed like a tomato
"I-I don't know what you are talking about, let go to the living room" I said walking towards the door
"Ah, Young love it's refreshing" Mina said before going after me
When we got to the living room almost everyone was already there, even Mandalay, Pixie-Bob and 2 others
I was starting to notice my surroundings, when I looked at Mandalay and the others, I couldn't help but wonder how I didn't notice before the HUGE cat paws they had over their hands on, the ears like headphones they had over their heads, or the tails that were hanging behind them, I guess that's why they were called the Pussycats
Kota was also there scowling at us; I don't really know what his problem was, and I'm not exactly sure I wanted to know
"Welcome back guys, let me present you to our other 2 members Ragdoll and Tiger, they will also be helping you so try and learn the most you can" she said
"Now get ready because we will do a race from here to the peak of the mountain and back" Mandalay said smiling
"Whaaaaat? The Mountain is too far..." someone said
"Got you didn't I" she laughed along with the other pussycats team "today we will take care of you, meaning that we have prepared dinner for all of you but after tomorrow you will have to do it yourselves ok? And don't worry the race was indeed a joke" she said and I was relieved
"What a waste of time, you are all just clowns!" Kota said and then went away to the woods
Mandalay sighed and led us to the diner, I was a little worried about the little guy, I know I said that I didn't wanted to know what was up with him but he was still a kid in the woods, I know he probably knew them better than me, but I still had to make sure, so I excused myself before the dinner was served and went to look for the kid
It took me half an hour before finding the kid next to a river hugging his knees
"Are you ok there, young man?" I asked
"What are you doing here? Who are you? What do you want?" he fired question after question
"My name is Kyouka Jirou, I'm part of the class clowns back there, I just wanted to make sure you were ok" I answered him calmly
"So now you will lecture me about how you guys are heroes in training and how I should respect you, because you are cool?" he asked
"No, like I said I just wanted to make sure you were ok, I can't change how you think, you believe that" I said
"But why? I insulted you and your class" he said
"Look kid" I started
"Kota" he said, he was still hugging his legs
"Ok, look Kota you might have insulted the class and our dream but you are talking from your point of view, for you heroes aren't that great and I get it, no one is forcing you to become one nor to like them" I told him
"Now how about we go have dinner, I'm sure everyone is worried about us" I said getting a little close to him
"No one is worried about me" he said in a whisper
"Why would you think that? I'm sure you aunt is" I said
"She is too busy with hero work and you guys to even care for the little orphan" I felt my heart drop at that
"I'm sure she is trying to get close to you as you are trying to get close to her, you just have to let her" I said
"And how would you know! You know nothing! You are just a hero wannabe" he screamed at me
"Maybe I don't know for sure what your aunt wants but I know what it's like to push everyone away because you are hurting" I tried to pet his head but he punched my hand away
"You don't know how I feel" he spited at me
"I do know how you feel, I won't tell you now how I do so because you will believe I'm lying but when you are ready you can ask me, now how about a hot plate of food sound" just like in que his stomach growled and he seemed ashamed
"I will go with you but only because I'm hungry" he told me and I nodded, we then made our way back, as soon as we entered the building Mandalay hugged Kota and Momo hugged me
"I was worried about you, where were you?" Momo asked me
"I was just talking a little walk and I found Kota on my way back, right kiddo?" I said and he nodded
Both girls looked at us and then smiled softly
"Ok, then let's have you two have dinner before there is no food left, some of you guys eat a lot" Mandalay said
I giggled and went to have dinner
"Guys after this amazing food you will have 2 hours for yourselves but after the time is up please go to your respective rooms to sleep, our training will start tomorrow at 4am" everyone but Momo and I complained
"Would you like to have a walk with me princess?" I asked Momo, she blushed but nodded
After cleaning after ourselves, we mad our way outside, we were walking for a while until we found a plain, we decided to sit down there for a while, I was looking at Momo's face while she was facing the woods
"Isn't it the most beautiful thing you have seen in your life?" she asked
"Yes, you are" I answer her still looking at her, she then turned at me and blushed, I closed the space between us and kissed her lips
Our kiss was sweet, full of love, every time I was close to Momo I could swear my heart would explode because how fast it beat for her, this girl was more than I ever dream about, and day by day she was becoming more and more important to me
"I love you" I said without thinking, Momo was shocked and I felt scared that I had said it too quickly, maybe she would get scared and would end things with me, I was overthinking everything even my own existence when I felt a hand on my chin, Momo lifted my chin forcing me to see her, she was smiling and there were tears on her face, she then got close to me and just as our lips were about to connect again she said
"I love you too" she then connected our lips and it was now my time to feel happy tears on my face, It just couldn't get better than this, we then cuddled on the grass just content with each other without saying anything, Momo's head was resting on my chest while I hugged her with my left arm, but they do say time flies when you are having fun, sadly we had to say our goodbyes not before kissing again and then went to our rooms
When I got there I was meet with Minna who had a mysterious grin on her face
"How was the date with Momo?" she asked me and I blushed
"Mina! First of all it's none of your business and second... Great, thanks" I said smiling softly
"Awwww I'm glad, you guys are cute together, now let's rest, tomorrow we will start early" she fake cried and I laughed
"don't be so dramatic, it's not that bad" I rolled my eyes
"It's not bad for you because you are used to training your ass off" Mina said and plopped on her bed, I just shrugged not knowing what to tell her
After that we changed to our pajamas and went to sleep
The next day:
I woke up at 2 am like always, and changed into my training suit, I then went to the kitchen to prepare scrambled eggs for my girlfriend and myself, when I was satisfied with the breakfast (scrambled eggs, toasts,4 orange juices, and 4 apples) I went to deliver it to the person I had prepared it for
I knocked on the door and at first there was no answer so I knocked again
"Who is knocking at 3 am in the morning, know I will kill you for waking me" It was Itsuka-san, when she opened the door if I was not holding food I might as well have died there but she then just smiled and let me enter
"Who was it Itsuka-san?" It was Momo, she was siting on her bed yawning, her hair was down, and she was rubbing her eyes
"Where do you get those Momo, I sure want one" Itsuka told Momo
"What are you talking about?" Momo then looked at me and blushed hard
"Room service for the princess" I said, I didn't knew it was possible but Momo blushed harder
"Morning beautiful" I said while kissing her cheek and leaving the food on a small table they had in their room
"Morning love" Momo smiled at me
"Now eat, you don't want to go training with an empty stomach, and if you don't mind can I bring my roommate to have breakfast as well?" they nodded and I went to retrieve Mina who I must say is one of the hardest people to wake it took me 5 minutes of pulling the covers and threaten her with my jacks for her to even open 1 eye, and grumpily going to Momo's room so we could have breakfast
When Mina smell the food she woke up instantly and after saying her good morning to the girls she started eating, I rolled my eyes at her while Itsuka and Momo giggled
We enjoyed our breakfast, and then Itsuka offered to take the dished to the kitchen along with Mina, Momo offered as well but Itsuka didn't let her, whispering something in her ear that made her blush
"Thank you for the breakfast Kyo" Momo smiled and kissed my cheek
"It was my pleasure, like I said I don't want my girl to be starving while we train" I said
We then went to the bathroom to brush our teeth, and went to the living room to wait for the others, since there was no one there, Momo sat on my lap and kissed my forehead, then my nose, while she was doing this I was giggling, but then she stopped for a second before kissing my lips
We then heard a whistle and we separated so quick Momo would have fell if I was not holding her
"Get it girls" Itsuka said making fun of us, while Mina was behind her with her phone in hand, Momo blushed and I did as well but I rolled my eyes at both slightly annoyed that they had interrupted us
Not much time passed before Bakugo got to the living room and I of course had to tease my friend
"Slow as ever right Bakugo?" I taunted him
"How are you so full of energy this early?" he said clearly cranky
"Kyouka is used to training at 4 am" Momo told him, and his mouth formed an o
"That explains a lot" Itsuka-san said
"Oh wow you guys are here early" Mandalay said
"We like to be punctual" Mina said and I scoffed
"As if, your alien ass only got here early because your roommate is used to this unholy hours" Bakugou said
Mandalay then approached me and said
"Thank you for yesterday, Kota was in better mood when he came back, I just wish he could go back to being the sweet kid he was" she said with a tear on her eye
"I'm sure he will, just give him time" I said
"D-Did he told you?" Mandalay asked me, meanwhile Momo, Itsuka, Bakugo and Mina were confused
"He didn't go into details, but he did mention than he is an orphan" I told her and she was shocked
"It's the first time he had addressed the subject, in all these months he has lived with me he wouldn't let me get near him, hug him, be there for him" she was crying, I could feel her pain, she had lost a brother or a sister and her nephew wasn't making things easier, I couldn't help but wonder if I had made things as bad if not worse for Dad
"it's ok, he will get better, as long as his cool aunt is there, I'm sure he will be happy again, it will take time, and effort from both sides but I believe in both" I said smiling at her
"How can you be so sure? What if he despites heroes all his life?" she asked
"May I ask why he hates heroes?" I asked her and she nodded
"His parents... were professional heroes unfortunately on one mission everything went out of control his dad died on the scene, my... s-sister, she was taken to the hospital where I meet her she asked me to take care of her son, to make him happy and when I agreed she... died in my arms, he is so similar to both, it hurts he thinks his parents were... a waste of time" she said crying, at this point we were all crying fortunately we were still the only ones there, even Bakugo was sniffing
We didn't know what to say besides our condolences to her, even I that had passed through something somewhat similar couldn't say anything, I didn't know how to comfort Mandalay neither did I know how to make Kota happy, everyone react different to what they pass through, if dad hadn't been as insistent as he was with me who knows what could have happened
Mandalay then thanked us and went to her team who hugged her while we stood there awkwardly waiting for our classmates
When everyone got there, Mandalay had gone back to her "happy" face that we 5 knew now was a fake since she was hurting inside, we were then told we would train alone but todays training consisted of forcing our quirks, meaning we would have to use them none stop, my Dad then approached me and whispered
"Today you will work on Earphone Jack" I nodded at him and then we were lead to our training grounds, I was left at top of a cliff so my sound waves wouldn't hit my class nor class 1-B
I started sending wave after wave, and everyone was ok for the first 20 minutes after those I started breathing heavily, at 23 minutes my knees started to shake, at 25 I was starting to feel lightheaded, I then stopped and fell to the ground panting, my dad approached me and gave me little water
"Good first try, get up and try again" was all I said, I could barely stand and my quirk wasn't functioning right when I started again
The whole day was pure hell, when the training was finished everything in my body was hurting so much I didn't want to have dinner, I just wanted to lay in bed and die but we couldn't do that, I had to gather wood for the fire and help make dinner
We were all walking like zombies when Kota came and glared at us, here we go again I thought
"This is why Heroes are a waste of time, you only injure yourselves, yet make no progress at all, just looking at you is sickening me" he said and I blame the tiredness because in that moment I grabbed his arm and said
"That's it, you can feel sorry for yourself all the time, pushing everyone that cares for you away or you can learn to accept what happened let it make you stronger, yes life was a bitch with you, that's true but that doesn't mean you can be an ass with everyone, more if they want to achieve their dreams" I half told half yelled the kid, everyone was looking at me
The kid got scared by my outburst and splashed my face with water, which I guess was his quirk, I didn't let him go though
"So what is it going to be kid? Will you let this control you?" I asked him
"You don't know what it feels like..." he started
"Tch, me out of everyone here knows exactly how it feels, the anger towards them, the anger towards yourself for not being able to help them, the deep hurt, but I didn't let it control me, now would you fight for what you want, or be an ass all your life?" I asked
"That's enough Kyouka" It was my dad, I let the kid go and said
"Whatever, I'm going for a walk" I said before leaving
I was walking aimlessly when I got to the same river where I had spoke with Kota, I wondered if I was too rough on the kid, maybe I should apologize to him
"So crappy reaction eh Ears? I know the kid was annoying but damn you tear him a new one" Bakugo then sit next to me
"It's just that watching him... It feels like watching myself when I was 8 and I don't like to feel and see that again, I know how much shit that is and it's not fair" I told Bakugo
"It isn't you are right; no one deserves to lose their parents; you were just a kid Kyouka" he said
"I know but I still could have done something" Bakugo then hugged me and I cried softly on his shoulder
"Don't do that to yourself ears, everything happens for a reason, and it made you who you are today, I believe they would be proud of how strong you have become" Bakugo said patting my back
"... Thanks, there is nothing I want more than making them proud" I whispered
"Well I know they are, wherever they are, now clean your tears and go apologize with the annoying kid for being a bigger ass than him" he told me and I laughed
"Ok ok boss, let's go" we then made our way back, before having dinner I approached Kota again, everyone was watching me
"Kid, look... I'm sorry about earlier, I shouldn't have let my frustration out on you" I said
"w-were you being truthful? Did you pass the same?" he asked me
I knew everyone was still looking at us and listening but I decided I have carried the weight a little too long
"sigh, yes Kota just like you when I was 8 I lost my parents, they were musicians and at one of their concerts, a villain attacked, my parents fought said villain to let the pro heroes get there, what's worse I was there, I saw it all, how they fought, when they were defeated, when they... died, I was taken by someone who today is now really close to me, he is like a dad to me, but at first I didn't make things easy for him, like you I was angry and sad all the time, I let all the emotions control me, then one day he was done with my self pity and asked me for my dream, at that moment I thought my dream was done for, but he teach me a way for it to be possible and here we are many years later, I still miss my parents deeply, and there is no day I don't wish they were here but everything gets better with time, and with the help of the people you let inside" I told him, and then Momo reached me and grabbed my hand giving it a gently squish
"I... I will have to think about it, but thanks Jirou-san" Kota said and I smiled at him
After our little heart to heart we all had dinner and headed to sleep, we still had a lot of training to do, and who knows what the future holds
