Chapter 2
It was lunch time and Nicole and Jecka sat at their usual table. Jecka had just made a comment but Nicole had not replied to it, not sure how to, they were both now sitting in awkward silence, clearly waiting for the other to break it. Having just come from Mr. White's class, Nicole said the first thing that popped into her mind as she thought about that.
"So...I'm pretty sure the Photography Teacher is a white nationalist."
Jecka quirked an eyebrow then replied. "I just said 'the tuna is good today' and you came up with that?"
"Well, what was I supposed to say?" Nicole shot back.
"I don't know, 'yes', 'no'...anything but what you said." Jecka shrugged. "Where does a conversation about Mr. White being a white nationalist or not even go?"
Nicole shrugged. "Probably the same place a conversation about tuna would go."
Jecka snorted and shook her head. "Fair enough...You know there are other teachers who are a problem."
"Yeah like Mr. Lorre in art class, I heard a rumour that the real reason his wife left him is he's on...a certain part of MySpace. If you know what I mean." Nicole replied.
Jecka grimaced. "Ew, a teacher paying for sex, especially him, there's nothing sexual about him."
"That's what I said."
Jecka nodded. "Yeah, and Mr. Burleday. Oh my God, the way he kept talking about his late wife and how she killed herself."
"Yeah, as if we need to know that in class." Nicole added. "He then also commented on a picture Jeffrey drew, of the wife's suicide."
"No way, what did he say?" Jecka gasped.
Nicole shook her head. "Asked if he could draw a better one."
Jecka winced at that and the duo looked down at their half-finished food, lapsing into silence again.
Finally Jecka spoke up, clearly wanting to change the subject.
"So what about the upcoming Halloween party, you gonna go?" She asked.
Nicole raised an eyebrow. "Why would I do that?"
"Oh come on. My mom's making me go" Jecka explained. "We can just grab some costumes easy and go together. Better that than being stuck there by myself with all the meathead idiots and losers."
"Well if you're there, why not. At least I know there will be someone cool to hang out with and make fun of the losers trying to dance." Nicole said, allowing a rare smile to grace her lips.
Jecka let out a smile of her own, but was interrupted before she could talk.
"There you are, finally found you."
"Speaking of meatheads." Nicole muttered. "We sit at this table every day, Kylar. Never mind that, what the hell are you doing here?"
"Giving you another chance of course. You know I have a lot to offer." Kylar said cockily.
"Oh my god." Nicole groaned. "I've said no the past five times, can't you take a hint."
"You don't know what you're missing." Kylar continued, as if she hadn't even spoken. "C'mon, I'll show you a real good time."
Jecka glowered. "Hey, that's not-"
"Hmmm, you know what...I'll give you a chance." Nicole said with a devious smirk on her face. "If you can pass a challenge I have in mind."
"Uh-oh." Jecka muttered.
Kylar grinned, thinking he'd finally got what he wanted and agreed while Nicole scanned certain objects up by the canteen hatches.
She turned to Jecka.
"Hey Jecka, I know what the bottle on the left there is, what's the one on the right?"
Jecka looked up, confused. "Scotch Bonnet, why...you're not thinking of-"
"Okay Kylar, here's the deal." Nicole said as she turned back to him. "You complete the one chip challenge and I'll go out with you."
"Hah, easy...um, what's that?" Kylar bragged before looking confused.
Nicole nodded towards the objects in question. "It's simple. Go over there and get tortilla chip, just one, then cover it with the sauces, Carolina Reaper and Scotch Bonnet. Then eat it. You do this successfully, I'll go out with you."
Kylar laughed. "Ha, that's easy, I'll soon be showing you a good time Nicole."
With that Kylar walked off to do as Nicole suggested.
Jecka shook her head. "I can't believe you just did that...if it were anyone else I'd tell you off, but since it's Kylar.."
"Yeah. Wonder how long it will take him to feel the effects." Nicole replied.
Finally they were joined at the table by Emily.
"Hey guys, sorry I'm late." She said.
Nicole quirked an eyebrow. "Where were you, we were getting hassling by Kylar again and you were nowhere in sight."
"Sorry." Emily shot back. "I was selling Adderall to the janitor and he was trying to drive a hard bargain."
"Oh." Nicole said, calming down. "Did he at least buy it?"
Emily nodded. "Yeah, oh speaking of, for getting it for me, here's your cut."
She handed some money over to Nicole who smiled and pocketed it, just in time to hear the loud noise as Kylar finally felt the effects of the challenge, much to the shock of a lot of people around him, except for the trio of girls.
Emily merely quirked an eyebrow are remarked. "Wow, he actually tried to one chip challenge, I'd say brave but it's Kylar, so...stupid."
Nicole and Jecka certainly agreed.

"Take a seat, Nicole."
Nicole sighed as she did so and looked up at the tall, slender, curvy and rather busty woman clad in the dark skirt-suit and stockings who stood before her. Black hair with red tips pulled back in a severe bun, black eyes and pale skin, she watched Nicole sharply through her glasses.
"Is there a problem Miss Lynn?" Nicole asked the Principal.
"You tell me?" Miss Lynn fired back. "That little...incident with Kylar, as I understand it, you put him up to it."
Nicole scowled. "Well he was all over me and wouldn't leave me alone and-"
"Let me stop you right there, I have heard at least three different witness accounts over how he was harassing you...what I'm actually trying to ask is. You couldn't have handled it in a less...extreme way?" Miss Lynn said quickly.
Nicole scoffed. "Like anyone would've done anything, literally you and Miss Ames are the only teachers who wouldn't have congratulated him on his efforts to try and get with me...meanwhile I don't see Miss Ames being in a hurry to punish him since he's all white and good looking."
"Alright." Miss Lynn said indulgently. "Let's not go down this road again Nicole...next time, come to me."
Nicole said. "Yes ma'am."
"Right, now back to class." Miss Lynn dismissed her.
Leaving the office Nicole reflected how she'd somehow managed to once more talk herself out of real trouble with Miss Lynn and counted that as a small victory. Now she just had to get through her last classes and she would've actually made her mom happy, she got through the day without skipping school, she still planned to invite Jecka around after school regardless, hopefully they'd get some time to enjoy themselves before anyone ruined it for them.
End of chapter, hope you enjoyed it, read and review please.
