Grace is in a chair. Grace is in a chair. For the first time so long, Grace is up and out of bed and she is sitting in a chair.

She had never thought she would feel elated at the thought of sitting in a chair. But… it has been months. Grace is a woman who is used to moving around. She is rarely ever still. She has so much work, after all, not a day off a week. Her family needs her. They need the money and the comfort and the love.

And she hasn't been able to do any of that for months. Not like she has wanted to.

But this is a step. Yes, Howard has to help her out of bed so she doesn't fall. Yes, she'll only be able to sit here for a bit while her kids see her. Boots comes by and giggles so hard, mouth wide, as she sees her Mama up and about, that Grace almost cries then and there. "Mama, you up! Go with Boots? Ride bat with Boots?"

Luxa is holding Boots. She is smiling more these days, too. Real attitude, that girl has, and it's nice to see her smile. It's nice to know that Gregor has a friend like that.

Grace feels sorry that she has to tell Boots that no, she can't go ride a bat.. She can't go with Boots. There's so much she can't do, and it's been driving her insane. She feels like a failure of a parent, sometimes, seeing her kids have to shoulder all those burdens without her. But she's making peace with it. She had to, lying in bed for so long. And things are improving. She'll go back up. She'll be her best self again.
