There is a reason that, among killers, light is synonymous with life. For a killer cannot kill in the darkness. A killer cannot fight without light. Loses a killer their light, they lose their life. The killer, however skilled, however ferocious, however determined, will reign supreme only until they lose their light, until their torch is extinguished, until they stand in total darkness. For then they become as helpless as a wailing baby. And yet, the killer thinks not that they should learn the darkness. No, rather than learning, the killer will illuminate. The killer will invade and destroy. For that is the killer's way.

Such sentiments are common among many creatures of Under. And that is why, too, this is one of the first lesson that a gnawer pup learns: Find you yourself alone with a killer, quell his light. For then you will have the upper hand.

And it is true. For it is only few killers, very few, who learn to know their way in the darkness. After all, with a flier by one's side, what need is there? With portable light by one's side, what need is there? With the might of the killer, what need is there?

This hubris shall be the downfall of many a killer.
