Gibbs walked down the hospital hallway behind Tim and Jack. Standing outside the guarded room there were two doctors. The Captain and Lieutenant seemed more at ease than they had previously.

"Doctor Lam." Jack said once they were close enough to the four.

"General O'Neill." The women doctor replied. "First thing first, Daniel's alright." Everyone standing let out a breath of relief. "Second this here is Doctor Wyatt. He preformed the surgery on Daniel."

"I couldn't have done it without your help Dr. Lam." Dr. Wyatt turned to Jack, "General O'Neill, I heard you were listed as Dr. Jacksons next of kin?"

"Yeah, I am, but anything technical you have to say can wait. All I need to know is that he's going to be fine."

"Yes General, he'll recover. He lost quite a bit of blood, so he will be weak for a while, and.."

"Ack! Nope." Interrupting and holding up his finger at Dr. Wyatt, Jack looked at Dr. Lam. "Carolyn?"

Trying and only half succeeding in hiding a smile she said, "Daniel will be just fine, Sir."

"Thank you." Jack said, shooting a half glare at Dr. Wyatt. "When can we see him?"

"I'll have a nurse come get you when he's settled into a room."

"Thank you, Dr. Wyatt. I'm going to go in and let everyone else know." He said as he walked to the door, Dr. Lam followed Jack as Dr. Wyatt went the other way down the hallway.

Tim let out a breath and leaned on the opposite wall. As Gibbs came to stand next to him, he saw Tony slip out of the room. "You alright?"

"Yeah. It's just the second time in the last few months that I've had to wait to see if he'll be okay." Tim paused as he closed his eyes for a moment. "What made it harder was watching them hurt him. Knowing there wasn't anything I could do. Felt like Somalia all over again, yet somehow worse." Tim looked at Tony as he said that, then turned to Gibbs. "You know what the hardest part has been? Not the watching him get hurt, it wasn't the not knowing if we'd be rescued, or even the waiting to see if he'd be okay. It was Daniel, the rest of his team, and seeing the complete confidence that everything would be alright. Daniel didn't doubt for one second that we would get out of there. I'm sure he didn't know about himself, but he knew the rest of us would get out. And his teammates, Jack. What Jack said." Tim dropped his head to his chest, "They told so many stories in there, how many times have they gone through this? The not knowing, yet still one hundred percent certain everything will be fine?"

Tony gently grabbed the back of Tims neck and rubbed, "Probie, I don't think they were certain everything would be fine." Tim looked up as Tony spoke. "But I think they did have faith in Daniel, that he could survive this. There's a difference."

"Like you, and they said, he's been through things like this before. Obviously, they know when to completely worry, and when not to." Gibbs added.

"You're both right. I'm just not always told when things happen, so for two instances to happen so close… sorry I guess I just needed to vent." Tim said with a small smile.

"No worries, Tim, we're always here for you." Tony said, finally removing his hand from Tims neck.

When Jack and Carolyn had entered the room, and Tony had left, everyone else froze. Smiling Jack said, "Daniel's fine."

The room erupted in relief and joy. Vala jumped up swinging the twins around. Everyone else stayed seated but smiles and hugs went to those next to them.

"He's got some recovery time, but as always, Daniel will be alright." Carolyn said.

"When can we see him." Vala asked as she stopped spinning and put Eliza and Elijah down.

"A nurse will be by soon but like with Marks and Sanchez only a few people will be allowed in at a time."

"When can we see Daddy and Uncle Daniel?" Megan asked.

"We'll ask your mom when she comes back okay sweetie?" Carolyn answered as she sat down next to Cameron.

"Okay." Megan said as she ran over to sit with Vala and the twins.

Jack sat down next to Sam, leaning forward, elbows on knees, and his head in his hands. Sam rubbed his back and whispered, "You okay Sir?"

Scrubbing his face and sitting up he replied with a sigh, "Yeah Carter. I'm good. Getting too old for this crap though."

Laughing, Sam just smiled and she and everyone else relaxed and watched the kids run around the room, as Gibbs, Tim, and Tony came back in and also took a seat. The waiting continued, but this time everyone knew the end of the tunnel was bright.

A/N: Apologies to anyone who was reading this. I'm attempting to finally finish my incomplete stories. There just never seems to be enough time. There will be one or two more chapters to this story.
