Chapter 11:Combat Test
In the morning right now for breakfast some of them where grabbing it more importantly salacia and yuki right now for the day. As a certain cousin of the frozen girl walked past them with a downcasted look right now
"Jeez is he okay i mean…he looks sad"salacia said with worry as yuki sighed
"Look i'm worried for cousin too right now but hes just…processing things right now. His mom always had a tough time making it to things"yuki replied
As salacia sighed"maybe we should do something for him right now to help cheer him up"She said as the rocker eyed her up and down for a bit before grinning right now
"Well maybe you could take him out on a date to cheer him up since your smitten with him"yuki teased making the poor girl blush right now as she shook her head
"Me? And eros? No…no i don't like him…i ummm well…mhmm"she paused before sighing right now
"I'll think about it before coming up with an answer tomorrow okay"salacia said making yuki smile as they kept walking to their next classes for the evening
Right now it was survival class as may was infront of them right now not handing out papers but instead their was a tent and some other supplies strewend about with a backpack close to them.
"For this exam i will make you go a written exam but more like a check list. Some of these piles have the things you need but some don't. Now i want you to carefully examine what your missing along with assembling a few of the items here. Then your going to put it back into the pack and i want you to show me before you pack everything up that you made it got it"may said as they all nodded
"You may begin"she ordered as they did grabbing the supplies for their exam right now.
Right now kris was working hard on gathering his supplies making sure everything was in his pack noticing a few things where missing but he struggled with his tent for a bit.
But naga was already finishing his tent right now along with gathering his supplies checking over it. He seemed more adapt to live in the woods than anyone here as he found something puzzling. That being a climbing device which confused him for a moment
But he recalled what his parents taught him to live in these dunes. As he quickly fed the rope through a metal claw tightening it before making a grappling hook. Then he grabbed some climping picks and shoes placing them next to it making sure they where in working order
Though yuki was struggling for a bit right now with her stuff as she wasn't much of an outdoorsman. But she tried her best recalling what the suppile was along with seeing what was missing. She missed it a few times but saw that she was missing her dust supplies along with a extra canteen. As she marked that down
As kris was focusing on his suppile management he glanced over at zar who was struggling himself as a grin came to the arctic wolf face
"Shouldn't be worried about that right now…but…it is funny"kris thought regaining focus right now.
Naga was just finishing up his supplies right now making sure the teachers and examiners saw him do it. As he felt confident in his abilities right now
As an hour and thirty minute later may spoke up"alright times up, we'll look over your packs while your at lunch. So have fun if you realize you missed something and its too late because its always important to pack the right supplies for a mission"may said as they left
Once they where out yuki groaned loudly"God i hate camping or packing stuff like that…who needs a frying pan on a mission?"she asked
"Its useful in some cases it was tough remembering all the details. What about you?"kris asked naga who shrugged his shoulder
"It was pretty simple and easy. Besides i saw that someone was struggling the entire time"naga said glancing at zar who growled at him
"It was one small slip up beast say something like that again and your going to become my belt"zar threatened as someone cleared their throat that being adam in the hall as the boy ran away with his tail between in his legs as kris chuckled
"Thank you mr. tarrus"kris thanked
"I said call me adam and besides….scum like him are still around and i despise. Before you ask i'm not taking it easy on any of you during my exam"adam said walking away right now.
Meanwhile right now in team RGIL room rosa was humming coming up with a plan right now as the sun was still in the sky. But she was on her scroll with her mother right now coming up with a plan to cheer up her partner who was out of the room right now.
"So your suggesting we go buy a cake maybe?"rosa asked her mother who sighed
"Yes look i'm quite busy grading papers sweetie please do this after the exams are over"ruby replied
"But mom i wanna help my partner out"rosa whined as drei waddled over flopping onto her chest right now as lance picked her scroll up hanging up making rosa frown at him
"Come on leader focus we gotta be prepared for the coming battle"lance said as also in their was lynn for some reason
"Hes got a point but to make it easier for you how about just having candles and using this one family home for the event"lynn suggested as nyx liked that
"Good idea but we should really focus on our exams right now because ughhh this is so nerve racking i'm scared about failing"nyx said as lance rolled his eyes
"We'll be fine besides we got the combat test i'm wondering who will be facing"lance replied as lynn chuckled
"If its my team we will beat you kenji opened his mouth alot on his cousin and friends weakness"lynn said leaving making them eye him for that. As they decided to head to bed right now for the evening. With isa soon returning flopping into her hammock right now to get some sleep for the night. With rosa cuddling drei in her sleep as nyx flopped into her bed sleeping as viola came back to sleep in here for the night.
After some time soon enough all of them where fast asleep for the night as rosa was snoring cuddling drei who slept on her face right now. With nyx having her music player on to drown out anything in her sleep. While their was viola sleeping soundly in her bed for the evening
But then their was isa tossing and turning in her sleep right now with her eyes shut tight as sweat came fast down her face
"No…no..i'm sorry…i'm sorry"isa muttered as she was having a bad dream as it was more like a terrible nightmare
Her dreams started with her team fighting some grimm right now pushing them back as they began to overwhelm them
"Theirs too many we gotta retreat"isa said but they didn't answer her
"Guys?"she asked as sickening laughter was heard. As she heard it all around her as suddenly their was darkness at that moment. Then before her eyes something slowly flickered in the darkness the neon glow of x-43 mask as the assassin titled his head toward her making her flinch in fear. Before in a blinking motion he snatched up lance then wraped his arms around his neck before twisting it with a loud snap echoing all around them.
"No! Get away from him!"isa cried trying to help but she was frozen in place at that moment
With the assassin walking over nyx right now before laughing as he sliced one her ears off. Sleintly she watched as he pounced ontop of as the mask morphed into a beowulf like face before biting into her stomach gutting her. As he stabbed her over and over again several times.
"no..no…no"isa said crying dropping to her knees crying for her teammates right now.
Lastless it was her partner and leader as he made his way toward her. Then the assassin returned to normal before jamming his fingers into her eyes. Then he dug her eyes out before tossing them near isa feet as they rolled over to her
As they did it revealed the silver eyes of her friend as she slowly looked up flinching. With the assassin dead corpse right now as instead of white blood dripping from the wound it was red. It reached into its chest ripping out a beating red heart staring at her
"Your a murder….everyone you know will die just like your uncle….they'll die just like him"x-43 said crushing the heart in hand as the blood stained her face scaring her awake
Isa eyes shot wide open as she panted with heavy breathing right now as she checked herself over several times. But she was all tangled up in her hammock looking for the others. She saw that viola was okay along with rosa sleeping soundly with drei as nyx was snoring right now. But quietly she left the room as she peeked into the other room
As the door was opened a little as she peered inside seeing lance from her view as she sighed. Walking back to her bed she hugged herself right now wishing that this would stop. But she didn't want to let anyone help her after possible taking a life from someone.
"I'm so sorry….i'm so sorry….their going to hurt my family…my friends…i can't let that happen"isa quietly cired to herself drifting to sleep for the exams right now.
Morning then came to the others right now as they where all woken up by the intercom of sun right now coming through it
"Attention all first year after the bell please report to the training field for your final exam. Repeat all first years to the training field"sun said as the intercom went dead.
Mutters already filled the halls right now on what he said with everyone nervous hearing those words.
"Man i wonder who will be versing today i hope its not nova and her team"nyx said with hope
"I really hope its no selene or her team"lance added as rosa frowned at them
"Shut up its just some teams with your girlfriends on them"rosa stated with annoyance as right now isa was picking at her food for the morning
"Hey you good over here cousin?"nyx asked startling her for a moment as isa shook her head sighing right now with a heavy sigh in the mix as well
"Just worried is all i umm…nothing"isa said making them worried more
"You sure your okay i mean if you wanna talk about it"lance offered but she shook her head
"I'm fine just tired is all"isa replied as they eyed each other with rosa messing with her cloak for a bit
"Well we gotta get prepared for the exams right now. The final exam is today so we need to be prepared for today. But if you need anyone to lean on were here for you"Rosa said as isa got up ready to leave
"I'll be fine besides i think we got this in the bag. I gotta rub it in my cousin face if we beat him"isa said walking over but the three only followed worried for their teammate right now
After they had left the cafeteria they soon regrouped with the others right now as they where outside on the training field this time. As they followed he teams pyrrha stepped forward right now with a familiar tiger by her side
"Oh hey look its grandma huh wonder why shes here?"cleo whispered close by
"No clue but is that…oh no is that my mom"kenji said gesturing to something close by that being blake with some others by her side. That being onxyia, velvet, mavis, cardin, neo who were watching off to the side. As neo waved to her daughter who blushed
"Hey whats with the random adults here?'some student whispered
"No clue maybe their here to judge us"another added as pyrrha cleared her throat
"Today is your final exam for the day and this will be like sparring class. But with a twist their will be no written exam except its more of a physical exam"pyrrha siad catching their attention as the tiger laughed
"Lets hope you kiddies have fun beating each other up out here. But focus on your team work and performance with each other. Oh and if my grandkids are hearing this if your paired up with a little….jerk make sure to beat her team up good. "Nadia said eyeing the crowd of students with a grin as clarice was their wincing at that with her teammates close by sharing looks.
Soon enough some time past at that moment soon enough some of the teams had went and gone with each other. As it was GHST vs another team being MNBL which was close but selene and her team pulled through
"Nice job you eight but reminder for four of you. Your semblances drain aura quickly make sure to keep that in mind when using it"pyrrha replied
"Both teams may step down"she added as they headed off the stage
With the next team being a surprised right now as it was KYTE vs RGIL as rosa exhaled slowly stepping onto the field. As watching from a distance was ruby who watched intently right now on the match.
As kris unsheathed his large greatsword easily at the ready with thrud smacking her mace and machete together creating sparks. With eros cracking his neck as he loaded a new bolt into his crossbow at the ready. Yuki spun her guitar around placing it on her back with a cocky look right now.
However they noticed their formation as kris was in the back with yuki on the side as eros was also on the side. But thrud was obviously in the front
"Okay guess they went slightly different than i expected. This will be fine i'm sure"she muttered getting ready
"Alright if both teams are ready you may begin. You have ten minutes before the timer runs out to show your skills and teamwork"pyrrha remind as the timer appeared above showing their time limit
Immeidlaty rosa tiwlred her scythe turning it into it sniper form loading a dust cartilage at the ready for their right. While isa drew out a few of her kunais at the ready for their fight pivoting her feet at the ready. While lance drew his sword raising his shield up for his attackers. While nyx drew both her blades as her tail flicked with her grinning right now on the coming fight.
Glancing at each other rosa whistles before they did something as nyx and lance got in the front with rosa in the back holding her rifle out while isa got in the middle. Cardin raised an eyebrow at this
"Well lookie here someone came up with a little formation"he commented
"Their leader is the daughter of an expert strategist. Unfortunately my best friend daughter didn't get that from her husband except for his puns"blake teased as onxyia scoffed
"Your has yang temper problems so…meh"onxyia said sticking her tongue out at her
Almost immediately the timer started for them as the two teams prepared themselves for a fight right now. Though the first to strike to their surprise was eros who came speeding in with his axe at the ready. With yuki switching to to her rifle firing off a few shots to distract them as thrud held her ground at the ready with kris quickly summoning a few glyphs.
"Pawn to teal rook! And knight to orange bishop!"rosa called out suddenly at that moment. With isa running around from cover running straight for yuki as lance ran straight for eros. With isa throwing a few kunais toward yuki dodging them narrowly as she grabbed one freezing it before tossing it back at her. Though isa flipped over it getting more out as she ran straight for her
As lance was running with his shield up eros flicked his wrist before charging straight into him with fire behind him. With him lifting his axe to strike him down but lance lifted his shield up before pressing a button on it. It started to glow before the symbol glowed firing off a gravity blast knocking eros off balance who growled going straight for him.
With the teen switching to his crossbow as he aimed it toward him. Swiftly he began to fire a barrage of bolts at him but lance blocked most of them. Then he used the gravity blast from his shield again firing them back at eros. Though he bent backwards dodging his own arrow as he transformed back to his axe swiping at him with it.
Then their was thrud who growled trying to help her out but a loud sniper shot rang out hitting her. As she looked over at rosa who had her sniper out pulling the hammer back as the ginger went straight for her. Though immedialty someone came for her that being nyx who fired her shotgun back using the momentum to tackle right into thrud. This made her become knocked off balance as she grin swifty swinging at her with both her katanas out making fight her.
As their was only the leader left with kris flicking his sword as he ran forward toward rosa. With him launching a few fire glyphs at her those rosa used her semblance. She turned into a mass of pink petal before reappearing then using her recoil of her weapon. The teen launched herself into the faunus pathstriking him with her hucking back her scythe swinging it up knocking him back as the two clashed
Kris thinking of something new pressed a button on his greatsword. Suddenly it began to move around before morphing into a bolt action hunting rifle with a wolf head on the end of the barrel opened to snatch up its prey. Though he flipped a switch beginning to open fire on the puny girl.
Though swiftly rosa used her size to her advantage dodging and weaving through his elemental dust shots. As she bent a knee down before pressing a button on her scythe. The scythe began to glow bright yellow before erupting into electricity as he smirked. Swinging up she almost nailed kris in the face but he jumped back charing ahead to continue the attack.
With yuki she had her guitar out blocking a pair of kunais from isa as she shoved her back. But as she did she disappeared into smoke startling her before from the side the panther came in. as isa swung both her kunai down making yuki aura drop down but she threw her head back headbutting her. Then she cocked her guitar back to swing at her though lance came in knocking her back giving isa time to get up
But immediately he was met by eros swinging his axe clipping his aura down a few. Though immediately lance raised his sword blocking an oncoming strike from the boy redirecting it to the side. Then he flicked his wrist swinging his blade into his back making him stumble though eros immediately threw his axe at him. Though as he did lance blocked it sending it to the side
Expecting him to run for it but instead eros came at him with his feet instead of his fist. The boy began to swing his legs lighting them up with his semblance kicking an arch of fire toward him narrowly burning off lance eyebrows but he narrowed his gaze ditching his sword to some confusion. But he got in an offensive stance gesturing for him to come at him as the two of them began to come at each other
With nyx she was expertly dodging thrud attacks as they where predictable with thrud swinging her mace at the wolf. But nyx was quicker dodging it swiping her short katana against her making thrud anger right now for that. As she was sick and tired of her running around
"Stop running around and hold still!"thrud shouted as the wolf obliged sheathing her blades to the ginger confusion. But nyx eyes glowed as she went into her warrior form spreading her claws. Then she came at her head on swiping at her several times with her claws. But thrud redirected one hand away with her machete swinging it at the wolf making her stumble just for a moment right their.
With rosa she kept dodging the strikes from kris who switched back to his greatsword. As he swung it easily with one hand hitting her briefly making her stumble. But thinking of something new she pressed a button on her scythe. Then she reeled it back throwing it forward launching an arc of electricity at him narrowly hitting him as she eyed her teammates seeing they were in trouble
"Break!"she called out. Saying that all of them backed off with their opponents as rosa eyed the clock seeing that almost seven minutes have elapsed from the clock
"Whats the plan silver eyes?"lance asked as they formed up
Thinking of something right now she eyed nyx for a moment seeing her in her animal form then eyed isa for a bit then lance smiling.
"Were halfway through but we need to try this now"rosa said before calling out a new plan.
"Nyx! Lance! Wrecking ball! Isa! Jester!"Rosa ordered as both nyx and lance backed up as nyx went into her new form as lance grabbed her by her arm with one hand. Then he planted his shield on the ground as their was one more charge left in it. Then rosa took aim with her sniper right now as isa ran into the fray.
Immediately they came in as eros leaped forward to strike down the two preparing their attack. But immeidlaty isa leaped forward kicking him back mid air knocking him down to the ground. As isa spat her tongue out at thrud angering her as she came straight for her at that moment. With yuki joining her to take down the prankster
But as the two of them go close right now to finish her off yuki sprayed a stream of ice at her but it turned into smoke to their surprise. Then out of no where suddenly four more of her showed up taunting the two with annoying gestures angering them. But the small faunus was sneaking around eyeing yuki from behind before jumping up from behind getting on her back
"Awww look its laffa…laffa look honk honk"isa said groping yuki chest making her go red in the face as some students snickered at that with eria watching from the side eyeing neo who grined at her
"I'm throwing your daughter into a frozen lake for that"eria said as the women rolled her eyes
Taking this moment immediately isa whistles at lance and nyx as she jumped away from thrud trying to grab her seeing she was the real one. But this happened lance pressed the button on his shield launching himself forward. As this launched nyx with her beginning to spin around with the large tail spinning around right now
Seeing this right now yuki jumped back but the large tail hit thrud launching her back as she landed hard on the ground creating a crater even. As the two of them kept spinning around slowly they stopped as nyx felt dizzy with lance holding the urge to hurl his guts out right now. Though immediately rosa fired off a few shots nailing eros for a moment as he looked toward kris who nodded
"Barrage!"kris called out. Immediately he summoned several glyphs at that moment with yuki and eros setting up. Yuki grinned strumming her guitar launching a stream of ice into it as eros fired a stream of fire off his crossbow from a built in attachment. They began to bounce off each other.
"Shield!"rosa called out quickly before nyx swiftly ran over as they reformed. With her blocking the flames and ice at that moment with isa ducking covering her head as lance held his shield up activating the hardlight dust feature on it to block the oncoming attack
As the others kept attacking them soon enough thrud jumped onto a glyph kris had summon. It launched her in the air as thrud let out a mighty war cry coming down to smash them but suddenly the bell rang signaling their match
"Alright stop!"pyrrha called out as eros and yuki stopped their barrage of ice and fire. As nyx molted her form off groaning right now exhausted while isa sighed whipping her brow. But rosa looked up as she took a step back with nyx and isa following suit. This confused lance who looked up scared
As thrud came crashing down creating a large dust cloud as it cleared it revealed thrud ontop of lance who groaned in pain.
"Great effort everyone for both teams. Your grades are going to be posted tomorrow so be prepared"pyrrha said as they left the staging area but as they did some of them approached the adults who came
"Mom why are you here don't tell me your here to embarrassed us"kenji whined in hope it wasn't that as blake chuckled
"No just wanted to see how things went for everyone"blake said as yuki glared at isa who grinned back
"You suck for that isa!"yuki shouted as she laughed
"Its called strategy"isa said but she felt a cold hand touch her head as she looked up in fear at an anger eria who presented an icy fist
"You think groping my daughter is appropriate? I'm going to make you become apart of the ice age"eria threatened as onxyia pulled her friend back nervously laughing
"Come on eria its fine besides….well some of us had to come bearing some gifts"onxyia said confusing them
"Is it someone birthday soon?"cleo asked as velvet chuckled right now smiling
"Well since your father got fired he thought of adding these to a few of your arsenals. These are mainly for our kids those being…nubia….deliah….cleo….viola and…nyx"she said confusing them as vicktor frowned
"You get special gifts for your exams?"he asked as cardin chuckled
"More like stuff they can use since you all have double aura exhaustion besides can't use grimm blood to refuel in the match"cardin said as the two women revealed some box as the five nervously approached them. Cleo opened the one with her name on it to reveal a tactical sword as she held it in hand seeing a spider web engraving on it.
"Whoa…a sword never used one before"cleo said as nubia opened her with a puzzled look as her teammates stared at it. That being a gauntlet from the look of it as laffa scratched her head
"A glove?"she asked as nubia slipped it on with a confused look for a moment
"What this do?"nubia asked as selene eyed a button near the wrist pressing it. Immediately from the gauntlet a long blade appeared almost cutting her as neo snickered at that right now.
"A little glove that useful when someone knocks your weapons out of your hands"neo signed to them as the jackal was nervous now. With delilah slowly opening her to reveal something that being a short pump action shotgun
"A um shotgun…why would i need this?"deliah asked as eria cleared her throat pulling a note out
"The clown told me to give you this…this little thing can pack a punch and since you like getting close and personal at times he made this for you. Also ps use this to blow back any perverts"eria replied with nadia giggling a little. With viola slipping open the small case finding something a small hairclip
"A hairclip? Everyone gets weapons and i get a fashion accesory?"viola asked but her blood mother smiled
"That little hairclip gonna replace your glasses your grandfather sent that to me not too long ago. It works just like your glasses but this is far more superior"velvet said as viola clipped it into her hair as it came on as she saw the same discipline for her glasses. Nyx was the last one who approached the case slowly opening it right now revealing something.
That being a simple little medium size case as she picked up as it felt heavy. Looking at her mother onxyia gestured for her to open it. The wolf slowly found the release pressing it as out came something. That being a long pole like weapon that looked similiar to a glaive but it had a wolfs head in the finger with it having a switch on it
"Whoa…is that…thats a big staff"vicktor said but was corrected
"Actually that right their is a glaive. Along with being a more compressed tactical assault rifle with a built in supressor and flip sight. Wasn't hard to make sorry i ran late hate to wait for the little brat clarice to leave"Zane said walking over to their surprise as jaune sighed
"Well you arrived in time because three…two…one"he said the last number before all five of his daughter hugged the man thanking him for the gifts making him chuckle as he gentle patted their head.
"Today been great you all deserve to get some dinner then call it a day alright"pyrrha said as they did happy to have passed their exams for the semester with nyx eyeing the new weapon in hand thinking hard of a name for the little beauty she just got.
Seems the teens passed their combat test for the semester. Though the grave siblings got some new weapons from their father. But in the next chapter someone may become smitten with a certain person in the storyline. Thanks for reading!
