ATTENTION! IMPORTANT NOTE:

If you started reading Harry Potter: SHIELD and Sorcery before July 27th, 2024 then I would highly suggest you start over.

I have gone through and edited my previous chapters, and added new ones to expand on Harry's time in the Marvel Universe.

Some things will be very similar and others were deleted and rewritten from the ground up. I'm not saying there won't still be problems with grammar or misspellings, it is very hard to see your own mistakes when writing.

Also Sorry I've been MIA for a few days I was just finishing this up and will now be reposting and adding new and old chapters.

Thanks for reading

Waking up to a pounding headache Tony tried to flip over only to fall on the ground. Harry popped back downstairs with food in his hands "Oh good you're up. I made breakfast." Harry set the plates down on the counter in the labs kitchen area.

"How are you even alive? You drank four times as much as I did." Tony said with a wince as he tried to adjust to the light. Harry let him stumble around for a little while longer before he hit him with a sobering charm. Tony's head shot up when everything focused in. "How?"

"Sobering charm. Dead useful when cast properly. There were a bunch of different versions out there but the original removed toxic materials from your blood and basically made it as if you never drank, that's what I used on you by the way. People didn't like that part and kept messing with it until the original was forgotten and people had one that only affected the alcohol in your body."

"Is there a reason I had to stumble around for the last five minutes?" Tony asked bitterly.

"Well sure there is." Harry said before he kept eating.

Tony just stood there with his big mug of black coffee and stared at him. Tony's patience lost to Harry's "That reason would be?"

Harry finally finished up his omelet, "I forgot." As he turned to put the plate in the sink he hear Tony grumble before his head hit the counter he was sitting at. "Now let's get to those rune books and the prosthetics we can create."

Tony and Harry started designing an arm first. The look and functionality was more up Tony's skill set so Harry left him to it to grab a notebook he had written ideas down in. They both worked quietly until Tony was finished, "Yo Houdini I got the arm all modeled."

After Tony finished the modeling for the prosthetic Harry showed him a set of runes. "So see if we use these runes that were designed to transmit, basically video, and modify them we should be able to add real touch to the arm we are designing." Harry finished as he wrote out the notes and highlighted the sections of the prosthesis they could modify.

"How would video help make the prosthetic feel?" Tony asked incredulously.

Harry just grinned and started pointing out the inscription, "Video as you know it uses light and sound waves. When this rune was created they had no idea how it worked, so they used runes that worked like extra senses instead of anything technical. The twins I told you about used it to make what they called extensible ears. They were really just cups and string but with runes hey worked like real ears."

Tony was just staring at the inscription baffled, "You wizards are so strange. Instead of simply using light and sound waves you replicated the human senses." He just shook his own head as he wrote out his own notes, "How about we use something to hide the runes from anyone who might open it up?"

"I already thought of that. The Egyptians came up with a wonderful rune that can be tacked on the end of an enchantment to help protect tampering and it hides the runes from common sight. They used them in all their crypts and tombs to prevent grave robbing." Harry said as he rolled out a scroll on the table written entirely in Hieroglyphics.

Tony was studying what Harry pointed out and nodded along, "Excellent. Now let us discuss materials." Tony walked over to a drawer and pulled it open grabbing a box. "This a set of samples that I would use to test machines, weapons, or armor."

Harry was looking over the choices before shrugging, "I mean sure they're all a solid pick but I don't do moving parts much."

Tony took the samples box from him, "Let's list the requirements; needs to be light enough to use, strong enough to not fail, and has either mechanical based movements with a cheap or renewable power source."

Harry nodded and looked over the design for the arm. It was a smooth and sleek look, average in size all the way through, fully jointed at the elbow and all the fingers. The insides were lined with fibers that worked like muscles, pulling each joint and working independently. "Realistically what would the top of the line battery life be?"

"Based on current publicly available power sources? A few days at most. We would need to revamp the power system for anything better, or go for a more invasive procedure to match the prosthetics to the person." Tony finished as he manipulated the holo display.

Harry went over the options again and really the best thing would be a permanent surgery to have a totally mechanical arm replacement, "What if we made if seem like it hooked right into the body but added a magical power source they don't have to replace."

Over the next few hours they hemmed and hawed about what the better choice would be, what materials would feel more natural, and how to hide the effects that would come from magic. Several times they would design new arms or other implements that would likely never see public use. A set of multifaceted tools on a tentacle, climbing arms, and leg augments that would help left heavy weights.

Eventually they settled on making it seem like it was using muscle movements from the body to control, with proprietary technology allowing the mind to control a fake limb. "We can blame it on an AI or VI." Tony said offhandedly.

Tony was using Jarvis to fabricate parts that could be individually inscribed. Harry took the pieces that need inscriptions and quickly wrote out the runes required before handing it off to Tony for assembly. Just hours after they started a complete arm was sitting on the lab table. They both just look at it. "Think it works?"

Harry just nodded, "I really do think it'll work. We still need to test it though, have anyone in mind?"

Tony's mind whirred through all the different people he met who might enjoy a new arm before he zeroed in on a a professor from Columbia, "Yeah there is, a Dr. Curt Connors, lost his arm in an accident years ago. We can call him into a lab at SI in New York, the tower isn't finished yet but the labs are functional."

Harry chuckled, "Did you just casually drop that you're building a tower in New York City?"

Tony smiled smugly, "Of course I did. I'm going to put my name on the side of the building and everything."

"Tony Tower? Ridiculous, all good bits of alliteration have three words at least." Harry chuckled.

"Pfft, what, no, it's going to be named Stark Tower." Tony couldn't help but spit the water he just drank when he heard Harry call it Tony tower. Seeing the satisfied look on his face he would assume he did that on purpose, "Oh yes ha ha make fun of the guy with a tower. I was going to offer lab space in my tower."

Harry rolled his eyes, "Tony you saw my pile of gold and jewels, I can buy my own tower. Let's start packing this prototype up and clean up." Harry said moving around the workstation and putting away his books and inscription set, "Regardless I will take you up on that offer of lab space for a while. Though I technically own a business I have no employees or headquarters yet."

"Speaking of your business, when does it go public?" Tony asked as he led Harry out of the lab.

"Why would I want it to go public? To deal with a board of directors I don't like? No it's going to be privately owned. I don't need investors, but you are free to buy in because I want you to work with me." Harry explained as they walked upstairs.

Tony didn't know how to respond to that so as they got to the living he just asked, "You think Pepper would let me name the tower 'Tony's Tower of Tech'?" Harry's only response was to laugh.

It was only a few hours later that Harry and Tony walked into a lab at the future Stark Tower with a middle aged man with sandy blond hair and missing one arm at just above the elbow. "Well Dr. Connors this is technically a prototype but I have a good feeling about it."

Dr. Curtis Connors couldn't believe his ears when he got a call from Tony Stark of all people to test out a new prototype prosthetics. Yet here he stood in a Stark Industries lab with Stark and his associate telling him about how the prosthetic works and what it could do. "So you're telling me it will have a sense of touch?"

"Well that's the idea. Problem is we can't test it ourselves, for obvious reasons, and we would prefer someone who could give us a more intelligent answer about the sensations" Tony explained as he was measuring out the prosthetic to Connors arm.

Harry and Tony eventually got everything set up for a mediocre fit, nodes on the back and spine to give it the idea it uses finer muscle control to move and control and a nifty looking helmet with blinking lights. In reality the proteinic was bonded using an inscription on the installation area. The arm itself was hanging on his shoulder were his arm used to connect. "The fit isn't perfect but it should work for now. Now make a fist…"

Connors followed the instructions throughout and was flabbergasted when they starting testing out the sensations of the new arm. "It can feel? That's incredible."

"Yes but it doesn't pain or pleasure yet. Just the feeling something is there and temperature change." Harry explained as Tony was doing the final strength and dexterity tests. "So how does it feel?"

Connors had a look of happiness as he picked up a pencil and piece of chalk. "It's wonderful. I never thought that prosthetics would reach so far in my lifetime."

Harry nodded as Tony started inputting measurements into the computer. "Yes well we can only hope that it gets better from here. We'll get you set up with a custom one before you head out."

"I get to keep it?" Connors asked quite surprised.

"Well sure, we know it works the way we intended it to, if we upgrade it we can call you, but testing is done. So you can keep it." Tony said waving off Connors from declining it.

Connors didn't quite know what to do with himself until Harry walked up asking about his research, "Well, due to my circumstances, I started working on a line of research delving into cross-species genetics. I wanted to use animal DNA to help heal and prevent sicknesses."

Tony popped up at that point, "I remember you giving a lecture on it at a conference a while back. Using lizard DNA to regrow limbs and Zebra fish to heal Parkinson's patients."

"That is correct. Unfortunately there isn't much money in something as radical as my subject of research. I had hoped to make myself whole once again." Connors said as he flexed his temporary prosthetic.

Harry gave him a considering look. Cross-species genetics was trying to do things that potions from his old world did already. You could regrow limbs and heal most diseases with a few spells and potions, granted there aren't any curse scars in the way. He was tempted to hire the man but knew that he had a lot on his plate at the moment and upcoming events would make everything a bit crazy for a while. Harry's thoughts and Connors and Tony's conversation were both interrupted when Jarvis spoke up, "Sir, the parts for the new prosthesis are ready for assembly."

Tony turned to look at Connors, "Well this is it. We could leave it as a node based prosthetic but you would need help putting it on, or we could mount it on. It's up to you."

Connors gave tony and his temporary arm a look. He took several minutes debating about whether he would get a chance to finish his work in his lifetime and how much having two hands would help him. He closed his eyes and nodded, "I'll go for the mount, if you don't mind."

Tony and Harry exchanged a look, "Sure not a problem. Harry can do it all here with not invasive cuts." Harry pulled out a vial of water and turned it blue before handing it to Connors.

"Just take that and when you wake it'll be all done." Harry said as he placed a hand on Connors back, when he tipped back the colored water he stunned the man and let his head hit the back of the chair. "Well this isn't what I thought we would be doing today. Any cameras in here?"

Tony shook his head. "Nothing that other can see, just Jarvis." Harry nodded as he grabbed some sample metal of the same type as the prosthetic itself and sat next to the arm he was attaching it to.

Harry let magic flow from his hands into the metal and slowly shaped it to be a perfect fit for Connors shoulder joint, it molded to the shoulder back and chest as Harry created a slot to hook the arm into. Tony watched in amazement as Harry finished molding it and bonded it to Connors shoulder blade and skin. When he stepped back it look like he painted the shoulder with titanium. "That was incredible! How did you do that?"

Harry was looking over his work to make sure the new prosthetic would connect easily. "That is a special technique I picked up from my Alchemy teacher. It's called transmutation. It's a form of transfiguration, changing one object to another, and allows the caster to mold objects or materials with their magic. Since I don't use a wand, I get a more hands on experience." Dusting off his hands and stepping away from Connors, "Lets get the new prosthesis inscribed, built, and attached."

Opening his eyes Connors looked around the lab and spotted Tony and Harry eating over at a nearby table. Harry noticed him first, "Hey Connors, you hungry?"

Connors was at first confused before he realized what he was doing here. He looked over at his right arm and was baffled by the metal covering his shoulder that connected to his new prosthetic. He gently raised himself expecting pain and felt perfectly fine. There wasn't any pressure besides having something where there was nothing. He moved to stand and marveled at his new arm. It felt fluid and quick.

Harry and Tony watched as Connors moved his arm just watching it. Harry sent a smile and small wink before tossing a bottle of water, "Connors, catch!"

Connors eye moved over and he reactively sent his new arm up to catch it. "This is amazing. There isn't any lag and it feels like my other arm. I can feel the bottle in my grip." He said as he flexed his fingers around the bottle in his hand before it suddenly cracked spilling water on the ground.

Harry dusted his hands from the sandwich he was eating, "You'll need to be careful with anything delicate for a while so you can get used to gripping with a metal arm. It isn't all that strong comparatively speaking to normal arms, but it is metal."

Connors nodded as he stepped around the water, "I don't know how to thank you for this."

Tony waved him off like he had earlier, "Don't worry about it too much. Keep it on the hush hush for a little while so we can keep working on it before the public learns of our new prosthetic line. We can't mass produce them just yet."

Connors nodded, "If you two need anything be sure to let me know. I want to go show my son when I pick him up from school."

Tony and Harry gave him a spiel about upkeep and to let them know if anything goes wrong. They cleaned him up and watched him walk out of the tower with a pep in his step. "So… Want to make some magic armor?" Harry asked without looking at Tony.

Tony just laughed as they reentered the elevator, "First I want you to teach me how to use runes properly."

Harry just nodded with a smile, "Fine let's head to my place then. I got all the tools you'll need." When they got back to the lab Tony grabbed his stuff and followed Harry through a portal to the yard of what could be only be a house staring from a fantasy novel. It looked like a mini-castle with a tower behind it and solid stone walls. The most impressive part was the massive tree that looked like it grew up and around the house. The doors all looked like they were grown and the windows were crystal clear. Around the front part of the house was a big driveway leading off into a forest and small flower beds sectioned off with large bushes. Off to the side was a garage with wooden doors.

Tony whistled, "This looks crazy. Did you build your house into a tree trunk?"

Harry just laughed, "No I grew the tree aro0und where the house would be." He then walked up to the front door leaving Tony just staring at the most impressive house he had ever seen. "You coming inside or what?"

Tony shook himself back to focus and followed him inside, "You have to realize that your house is insane." As they walked in Tony was once again stunned. Everything looked like a classic fantasy home, free hanging lights the slowly swayed around, suits of armor in the corners, weapons on the wall, tapestries and painting everywhere else. Dead center of the opposing wall above a pair of double doors and in-between dual winder stair cases was a set of family crests. The walls were all stone, the floors seemed to be completely wood with no seams. Harry led him to a door under the stairs that led down a stairwell lit by glowing bricks on the ceiling and floor. Until they made it down into a wide open room with books and work tables everywhere, half finished experiments, materials in cabinets on the wall, and a central desk covered in inscriptions.

"What do you think?" Harry asked as Tony subconsciously moved to his main work area.

"This is really impressive…whatever it is." Tony said trailing a finger just over the layers of runes on his work table.

Harry laughed, "This is basically a holo-table using runes. It took some effort and I had to look over a few artifacts from my old world but it worked out pretty well." Harry drew up a quick set of runes and let the table display them, "It's more of a projector than an interactive table but it's useful when I need a 3-d image for something I'm working on."

Tony nodded as he continued to study the different languages, "So what language are you going to teach me next?"

Harry shook his head, "No I won't be teaching you like that. First off that would take forever, secondly, you're a genius Tony. I'm not trying to inflate your ego," Harry said when Tony started smirking, "but it would be a waste of your talents and mine for us to go about it like they did in my school. No I'm going to teach you the foundational knowledge and then let you loose in this library, it has copies of my more used books including a lot of runic languages."

Harry then sat down with Tony and started lecturing on how Inscriptions work, why they work the way they do, and how different languages can work together. First he covered the history of runes as a language of dimensional beings used to interact with energies present throughout the universe. Then he covered how Wizards and Witches started using runes for enchanting and rituals, "Runes were the sole way humans could do magic at first. Everything was a ritual or weapon that could be modified with runes."

Harry then went on to talk about the different languages, how they were modified over time and the true test of Runic Mastery, "So you see when a true master of runes comes about he's called a Rune-smith, because he can take runes and merge them together like a blacksmith to make something new. See here this rune is a rune word I created for a stasis charm. It combines the Time Rune from Sanskrit and the Life Rune from China, of course it required a bunch of enchanting and other inscriptions but that rune allowed life to be present in a stasis field. Either way the ultimate test is to create a new rune word using the languages we started with." Harry watched as Tony studied the rune he had created before he glanced at the clock, "Ugh we should go get something to eat, and you need to check your phone."

Tony barely looked up from what he was studying, "Why?"

Harry tapped Tony's watch, "It's nearly 8:30 PM Malibu time and we woke up early today."

Tony groaned as he stood up. He cracked his back and checked his phone sighing when he realized he didn't have service. "Fuck. Pepper is going to chew me out."

Harry gave him a glance when he cursed only to see his phone didn't have service. Harry grinned, "I knew I forgot something when bringing you here. I needed to add a signal booster to your phone."

Harry opened a portal back to the Malibu house and Tony's phone immediately blew up with waves of messages and missed calls. Harry patted him on the back as he moved to the kitchen, "Just call her and get it over with. In fact invite her to dinner, I cook a mean shepherd's pie"
