Chapter 16: Tempers Flare
It was now the evening as the sun right now was starting to set for the evening today. Though in a secret part of the academy the others were talking about what they saw early in the gym that being bella and the others. With nubia pacing around covering her mouth in shock right now
"Why would my own parents do that to someone i…i…i understand shes some criminal but…shes still a person"nubia stated as chet rubbed his head
"Dude we just saw your parents and their friends discuss torturing someone i mean seriously that was messed up. "Chet said with bella looking down deep in thought which jane noticed
"Let me guess your thinking about what exactly happen"jane asked as the faunus thought for a moment sighing heavily
"I am i mean…my dad was their i know he did terrible things in the past but…to see him their was troubling"bella said as bora stared at her
"Right i forgot your dad was white fang…why…why did he even leave?"bora questioned unsure about it as bella thought for a moment sighing right now
"If i recall dad left because he didn't agree with their views anymore. Along with that uh aunt blake convinced him somehow during the vytal festival all those years ago. Though that festival…does it have anything to do with how our parents and friend have been acting"bella asked nubia directly who thought for a moment rubbing her neck
"Maybe i just…my parents never liked to talk about it ever in life. They would always dodge the answer everytime one of my sibling or me asked. Dad especially hates talking about the festival since he helped cause it by force. Its…i feel like we shouldn't even talk about this anymore the others might be freaked out about it"nubia said as they agreed like before
"Yeah just…i'm gonna avoid pissing your parents off they scare me. Are thruds parents like that?"Chet asked as they thought for a moment
"No her moms very bubbly and her dad is a monk type of a guy. Their both really nice"bella said reassuring him as they began to go their separate ways as jane eyed them
"See you later gotta go talk to my teammates and let them know where i've been"jane said bidding them goodbye as they waved to her goodbye.
As the girl began to walk through the halls secretly she exited the front of the academy as she made her way quietly outside. To her luck she avoided the guards at that moment as she made her way through the streets of vacou. But as she did she eyed a old looking house as she smirked to herself seeing that
"Bingo"she thought as she walked over grabbing the door gently opening it as it creaked. Though as she slipped inside the place she smiled on who was their that being holmes and calliope as the women smiled at her
"Howd your little recon go for those vermin"calliop asked as she sighed
"Saw them integrating your assassin and morgan. Shes holding strong but well their kids seems troubled by seeing their parents talking about torturing someone"jane said as someone growled right now hearing those words.
"Their torturing my daughter"rosemary growled stepping from the shadows in rage making the girl flinch by she sheer sight of her as she scares her actually. The women was snarling in rage but someone placed a hand on her shoulder to calm her down
"Awwww don't fret young one besides its interesting to see you've grown to have a child. Gotta thank watts for bringing me back from the dead again"A male voice said cloaked right now but the women snarled throwing their hand off
"Ah yes the idiot whos failed our queen twice now on killing them the mutt"rosemary growled as the cloak figured snarled at her before presenting something to her that being a pair of razor sharp claws on their fingers as they snarled at her
"Quiet girl right now i'm lucky to have been one of the few to volunteer for the phoenix protocol incase. Arthur is a smart man besides….i'm more interested to hear that my prey have had children. Children i will enjoy hunting down and consuming"The man said laughing right now as calliope scoffed
"Calm yourself you. Besides in due time the others will get things ready all we need to do is keep on playing the facade we have. Though we may need to draw the attention of the investigation toward someone else. Any ideas?"calliope aksed with her son pausing for a moment
"I will need to think of one in due time that isn't related or knew them for a long time. It'll be hard but once we prepare the show for the world of our return it'll be a sight"holmes said as they decided to call things a night. But jane flinched as she watched the mysterious figure finding all of those new auditions to their army to be grimm reminders of the past.
The morning soon came to the group as they all were waking up to start their day right now. Though isa was groaning right now hiding under her covers in her hammock
"Five more minutes"she groaned but nyx walked over titling the hammock making her spill out onto the floor with her blanket still on. As she popped her head out
"Come on cousin you gotta get dressed up for the day we gotta train"nyx said
"She right where probably gonna get a little in ourselves lance is waiting for you all outside"viola said walking out alongside her sister but rosa stayed behind
"Isa are you okay?"Rosa asked making her look at her
"Why are you asking me that? I've been great"isa replied to her leader
"Well i mean physically you look okay but what about mentally"rosa asked in worry
"Rosa i'm fine besides i'm not that focused on what happened at the rave. Besides we've had greats day so lets move on"isa replied but rosa wasn't giving up
"Isa look as your friend i'm worried about you. We've all known each other for our entire lives and right now i'm worry for your physical and mental health. Uncle colt meant alot to everyone you can just talk about it to anyone…including me"rosa said
As isa glared slightly at her"i said i'm fine okay get it through your head. We gotta prepare for the tournament"she said walking away making rosa worried right now if her partner and friend was mentally all their right now today
Meanwhile with some others right now mainly being kris right now he was busy enjoying a break for the evening. As with him was naga his boyfriend with the added benefit of having fay and holmes their who was cuddling all over the boy. Though their was also rio and felix hanging out with them
As he was getting annoyed with his teammates right now mainly being how thrud is so annoying. She may act wise at times but seriously her wild antics and screaming it getting on his nerves. He even wonders how his own mother dealt with that girls mother in the past as it was hard to sleep at times. Then their was eros whos been moody ever since his father arrived and the rest of his family he kept whining about his mother not being here
He understand that its terrible for that to happen to someone for their life but he doesn't need to keep saying it. Then their was his partner yuki who was so annoying with her continuously practicing for her upcoming concert tonight but also with her pranks.
Then their was himself he was the heir to a large dust company. Though he tackles with his own demons of his grandfather by blood past sins that still haunt him at times even in the present.
"Hey kris you their man?"Felix asked making him snap back to reality as he looked at him for a moment
"Sorry wasn't paying attention"kris apolgized
"Okay thats understandable but question when is this one gonna stop rubbing up on him"Rio asked pointing over at fay who blushed as holmes sighed
"She seems very attached…i'm fine with it"holmes said as they found that funny for a bit
"Well i mean its sweet i guess but still ughh i'm dreading the day your parents come here. How are we going to tell them about us"naga asked as kris blushed as his tail swayed for a bit
"I mean you can simple just say hey i'm into dude and sucking face with him"rio said as they stared at her as it wasn't that simple
"Ummmm do you not remember who umm well…uhhh….mhmmmm nothing"holmes said making them eye him for that
"What is it? What is it about his status as a schnee and that hes dating some common middle class"fay asked but he had other things in mind mainly being how adder had killed the grandfather of the boys mother but he decided to play nice for a bit on that wondering if they knew.
As naga sighed"maybe because my parents used to serve that salem women it still bothers me right now"he admitted as kris hesitantly reached to console him but as he did someone called out to them
"Well look here its the freaks of the murderers how have you been"Zar spoke up making them look up at the boy who had a smug look right now as rio scoffed toward him
"What do you want jerk"Rio asked as someone else scoffed close by
"Hes just stating facts over here peasant"a female voice said walking over as it was a seventeen year old girl. Along with that having pale skin like she lived in the snow as she had light brown colored hair styled into a bun. Though she was also wearing a full tan suit and dress pants with a light blue undershirt underneath the jacket. While strapped to her backside was a hunting muskcet with a golden engraving on it as she grinned at them
With kris growling as this was Rian a member and partner of this pest he knew from atlas. They where on team TRCT(terra cotta) if he recalled from memory
"We are not peasants jerks besides…your that jerk that called my dad out in grimm studies"fay said recalling what he did as the boy rolled his eyes grinning
"Well i heard he got fired for assaulting a student nor surprising. Your group may consist of heroes but they were murderers and monster. At least i'm not some little fag sticking his tongue down a faunus vermin throat"zar taunted making kris flinch as him and rian laughed walking away making rio growl as her tail thrashed
"He is so lucky that we don't beat him up for that"rio said as naga sighed looking at his boyfriend with worry but had an idea
"I got an idea to help get our frustration out come on"naga said as they followed after him for the time being to forgot about this little encounter right now for the evening.
After maybe a few minutes of walking they wounded up in a different part of the school. That being the training hall as it was similar to that training simulation they had back at the academy with fay looking surprised
"Hey its the training sim we had back at the academy….we gonna beat up a hologram of that jerk"fay asked as felix chuckled
"Nah i think naga got a better idea what are you thinking snake boy?"felix aksed as naga hummed taking over the console eyeing the symbols on it. As he saw some familiar symbol with one being a pair of daggers crossed together as another was a lion with a mighty roar. Though a few of them where a pair of skulls including a monkey tail for one, but another was that of a serpent it seems as he smiled
"I wanna see if we could get some sparring in maybe see if we can uhh beat a few people on the training sim. The one back at beacon had your parents on it i'm sure"naga said to kris who thought for a moment sighing
"Fighting mother again might be a diaster again what am i gonna fight your father to prepare myself telling him of our relations"kris asked as his boyfriend hummed for a moment
"I mean it could work hes scary but it could help"naga replied as he sighed eyeing him nodding as the snake manned the console adjusting the difficulty right now. With kris stepping into the ring right now undoing his greatsword at the ready for anything right now ahead of him
Naga began to adjust the console before the projectors of the hologram began to turn on. Then it generate a familiar snake to them
As it projected their opponent as the pixels began to come together to form none other than adder tanin in his old attire with him pointing the blade toward the young arctic wolf ready to fight a schnee like he wanted to long ago.
"If you win were gonna make naga give you some snake tongue"rio joked making naga eye her hissing as fay giggled at that
"Commencing battle simulation"a mechanical voice said as the snake pressed a button as the opponent began to rush at him
Immediately the hologram of the faunus came at him swinging several times with his khopesh blade trying to strike him down. As he did kris dodged it using his glyphs to move himself back as he reeled his sword back at the ready. Then he swung it forward trying to chip the hologram aura down.
Though the holo adder was quicker expertly going into a back handspring before launching himself forward. As he changed to assault rifle launching a barrage of bullets toward the wolf. As he managed to dodge a few of the bullets but one hit him making him grunt from that attack
Then the hologram dive bombed onto the young arctic wolf getting locked into a power struggle. But kris snarled waving his hand before summoning a fire glyph beneath the hologram. Seeing this it leaped back dodging the hit from him as the fire went up. Before swiftly he held his sword with both hands
Using the size of his weapon he swung it forward knocking the assassin back as he dug into his holographic pocket. Pulling out a pair of throwing knives he threw them forward hitting the young wolf. Though immediately kris blocked a few before summoning a black glyph behind him to launch himself forward toward the snake.
As they made a impact toward each other as he got stunned with the hologram trying to finish him off. Though kris was quicker as he smirked blocking the hit before shoving him back as he drove the sword through the hologram chest as the opponent turned into nothing but pixels at that moment.
"Battle over, deactivating simulation"the mechanical voice said
As it was over kris panted out of breath almost as rio smirked at him
"Well lookie here you aint half bad against that guy schnee"rio complimented
"Thanks but was that really taking it easy on me?"kris asked as naga thought for a moment
"That is my father definition of easy if your wondering"naga said making him frown as he was curious about who else was on here.
"So who else is on here by the way i'm curious"kris asked
"Lets take a look i have nothing better to do right now"holmes replied as quickly naga brought up the profiles on who was here.
"Hmmm we got fenix neaman. Nebula violette, gwen darcy, naca vincent, carmine esdualrdos and huh whos this chick?"Felix asked pointing at a women on the page for a moment as fay eyed the name
"Hey that name sounds familiar…isn't' that the dracona chick from grimm studies"fay said pointing at the name of dracona violet
"Hmm your right but why is she on here did she use to go here or something"rio asked as holmes tapped his chin
"She used to be a student here at the academy before her grimm transformation. Her old associate i believed from history was a talon soldier who sold her for the experiments. She used to be a huntresses but became a slaver to make some money. Though…she is dead if i recall during the time after atlas fell"holmes said peeking fay interest right now for a moment scoffing
"If that chick is a grimm knight i'm sure i can take her"fay said as they eyed her for a bit saying those words right now
"Fay you might be jinxing yourself those things from what i heard where nuts. Literally some of them were serial killers"felix said as she spat her tongue out
"I totally got this lay it on me"she said walking out with her weapon in hand as they shared looks. Before the snake faunus began the simulation again as the girl might just get beaten up for her opening her big mouth
As the simulation started immediately it formed a younger dracona violet who had on a long coat that seemed to be violet in color. Though she wore a black shirt underneath it while having armor on her shoulders and biceps. Along with that wearing padded leather pants colored brown with matching brown knee high boots with added armor to it
Though on her hips where her signature swords as immediately the program brought the swords out as fay drew hers with a determined grin.
But immediately the hologram charged forward trying to cut her down but fay dodged it in time. Swiftly she slashed at its back making it stumble as she smiled
"Eat that you dumb hologram"Fay said but the hologram then reeled it leg back kicking her hard in the gut making her land on the ground as she groaned. With the others wincing as the hologram walked over before kicking her in the stomach
This made her roll again but as fay picked herself up she flinched seeing the hologram coming down to bring both swords on her. Though she rolled out of the way activating her aerial form taking flight at that moment as she took aim opening fire upon the hologram to do some damage to it.
As she began to open fire onto the hologram it flickered from the hits though immediately with a click of a button. The swords began to glow bright hot and let off a light blue glow. Then the one on her right erupted into flames with the second becoming covered in ice. Dracona flipped her swords before being patient as the program swung her swords forward launching an arc of ice and fire at fay
But the girl dodged it before trying to come up with something as her wings fluttered around. Thinking of one thing she dodged another arch of fire and ice before dive bombing into the hologram of the women. It made her stumble making her cocky again though she would regret this move
The hologram suddenly grabbed her by the wings making her wince in pain. Then holo dracona began to spin her around for a bit before tossing her hard. The girl screamed hitting the wall behind her groaning as the simulation was over at that moment
"Ohhh that's going to hurt tomorrow morning"naga said as holmes helped his girlfriend up who groaned loudly
"How is that fair! Did you put it on super hard or something"fay asked as naga pointed at the difficulty
"It was set on easy besides she was a seasoned huntresses though….that was the normal her the grimm her i heard from father was…much more brutal"naga said suggesting he knew about the grimm knights from his parents as rio rubbed her head
"Ehhh their all not that mean grandpa diego is nice"rio said as felix eyed her forgetting shes related to one
"I forgot your grandpa is one how is he by the way"felix asked
"Better him and that wolf guy are hunting everytime their both in menagerie"rio said as laughter was heard
"Well i mean my old partner loves to hunt with me. Besides….that women whooped your butt sweetie"Declan said surprisng them as fay zipped over hugging him
"Grandpa declan! What are you doing here?"fay asked as he chuckled patting her head
"Came to say hi to one of my grandkids its been noisy at the house lately with your new siblings. "Declan answered
"Hmmm your declan blair you were on team DAND correct?"holmes asked as declan eyed the boy narrowing his gaze toward him
"So what kid? Who are you"Declan asked as he offered a hand to the man who took it
"I'm well holmes the son of calliope the women who runs that music studio. Along with uh her boyfriend"holmes said pointing at fay who blushed as the old man stared him down squeezing on his hand making him wince in pain for a moment as he let it go
"Nice to meet you. You act like her old one and i'll teach you a dam lesson kid….i don't care if i go to jail for a year. Rather have my daughter have her husband so her kids don't grow up without a father"Declan warned as he nodded
"Agreed sir"holmes said as they walked out of the room but holmes internally chuckled as he hoped that family would grow up without a father for what they did to his own grandfather. He'll be very happy to see all of them again.
Right now inside the compound some of the others where enjoying some time off together. Though rogue was pacing around with a worried look as tonight was the night of the concert which meant she would be seeing him after so long but the women was very nervous right now to see her son again
As she whined loudly grabbing her hair almost tearing it out of her hair at that moment
"Ughhh i can't face my son right now hes probably going to hate me for the rest of his life. I haven't been here for so long"Rogue said seeming to return to her old antics as in the room was persia, orchie, perun and pyrrha along with her teammates. As right now fester kept running around panting as he had alot of energy
With harmina giggling trying to catch him as aspen was playing around on a music app on his father scroll with orchie groaning
"Hayley chill the heck out i mean it'll be fine"orchie said as they shared look
"Ummm her son keeps complaining how his own mother refused to even skip work to spend time with their family. He keeps getting anger every time he hears a mention of her"perun said making rogue worry more
As eria glared at her husband before tapping him in the side making him wince in pain as the wolf faunus walked over guiding her teammate and friend to sit down.
"Calm down rogue here hold this one"onxyia said before picking up someone right now that being dawn. As the grimm pet shifted into the form of a puppy as she snuggled yipping at her. Rogue tried to fight the urge to pet her but sighed petting her
"Better?"persia asked as she nodded
"Their we go one calm blonde. Though still its nice to have the whole team here right now"zane said with a grin as someone chuckled behind him as walking in was jaune
"Well not everyone is here i heard weiss should be arriving soon alongside falk. But well i heard tanner and slater ran into someone on their way here from the airdocks to see who else arrived"jaune said peeking some interest
"Oh let me guess its secretly yang who skipped out on her leader duties"onxyia joked but the door could be heard opening as someone laughed
"Nope! Because look who we found wandering out into the desert the perfect guy to bring"tanner said stepping in before presenting someone in the room. All of them looked over with surprised look as it was none other than neptune vasillas. Who grew his hair out a little along with sporting a maroon colored dress coat underneath a white long sleeve dress shirt. Though the coat had golden button and golden colored cufflinks on with a matching pair of a jet black dress pants. Along with that he sported a pair of light aqua blue shades on his head as he smiled
"Well lookie here most of the friends from argus is here and my ex"neptune joked as pyrrha smiled walking over hugging him as he returned it
"Neptune! Ohhh its so nice to see you again how is bashira?"pyrrha asked
"Ehhh a little cranky she couldn't come but hey she told me to takes lots of pictures. Also to tell her two teammates to visit more."neptune answered
"Sorry naca is busy now as we just had another kid"zane replied making the former waterphobe eye him hearing that
"Seriously? Another kid? How many is that now? I only had maybe one but you…i don't even know i lost count"neptune said as eria chuckled walking over hugging her friend who returned it
"Still nice to see you vasillas. But mind helping me with my sister shes nervous about her son hating her on the account of always being busy with work"eria said as neptune eyed rogue for a moment who looked down as he sighed
"Hey what are friends for now let me see"neptune said pausing as he taped his chin for a moment before snapping his fingers
"Just go say hi to him its pretty simple i mean the concert is tonight. Just walk on over to him and say surprise your moms here to support you for the tournament."neptune said as rogue rubbed her arms for a bit
"I don't know i'll..think about it…its just…am i bad mom?"rogue asked as they all stared at her with tanner rolling his eyes
"Uhhh did you abandoned your kids?"tanner asked
"No"rogue answered
"Did you drop them off in the middle of a blizzard to freeze to death since they where born different"onxyia added as she shook her head
"Did you ever consider them mistakes or think that your life would be better if they died?"eria asked as she thought about shaking her head as her partner smirked
"Your a good mom rogue. Just you've been so hyper focused on running that company your family owns. Just…learn to take a break and make time for them take it from the guy who has to make time for all his kids. I got to have a line and schedule to hear what my kids wanna tell me about their days"zane said as the blonde sighed thinking about how she will apologize to her son for not being their much in his life.
Team RGIL was practicing for the tournament tomorrow right now as they where practicing some techniques that way their prepared for the upcoming tournament
Right now lance was giving rosa a boost as she flew in the air in her petal form before dive bombing into the training dummy. At the same time nyx launched herself up as she fired back into the training dummy hitting it as rosa missed it
Though swiftly she tried something up by going in a loop before going out of her petal form. She fired into a dummy launching it back straight lance. As he was going to bash it with his shield but isa decided to try something else
As she was suppose to throw her bomb tags after he launched the dummy back with his gravity burst. But she threw them early as they hit the target as they began to burn out which lance noticed. Immediately he ran to the side before the dummy blew up as it was close to him
As it was burning out lance got on fire slightly as he quickly patted it as rosa rushed over with a water bottle. Dumping it on the spot it put the flames out but he glared at isa
"Isa! What the heck! You could have blown me up!"lance shouted
"Hey sorry i just thought i could take the dumb dummy down quicker. I mean it worked didn't it"isa argued as she wasn't phazed
"But you could have hurt me seriously i could have gotten blown up by that. Seriously i was on fire and it hurt my skin is on fire a little"lance said
"Though your still here big deal you have a healing semblance or better yet just go ask your dad to heal your burn"isa said with a scoff
This made him anger right now walking over toward her as the other two shared looks. Immediatly they got between them as nyx held back lance for a moment with rosa walking after isa
"Isa we are teammates so lets break it up and apologize to each other"Rosa said but her partner scoffed
"Oh i should apologize for what? Him being mad its just the best solution not like you even care what happened to uncle colt"she said making them eye her
"Isa i cared about that guy. I knew him since i was a baby but i know he wouldnt want this he wouldn't want any of this. Seriously the tournament is right around the corner and we need to prepare. Everyone else has but we haven't since you've been moping around"nyx said
Isa spat her tongue out"ohhh like your one to talk miss i keep smooching my girlfriend. Its so cute…blegh"She taunted making nyx get ticked off by that as her tail thrashed around with her growling at her
"Wanna repeat that you flee ridden jerk"nyx said walking over shoving her back right now in anger as isa growled at her. Drawing out a kunai she tried to slice her right now but nyx backed up in time. Though she felt something sting on her cheek
Placing a hand on her cheek she pulled her hand back going wide eyed seeing blood their as her cheek got slashed up by her friend. As lance eyes went wide
"Isa what the hell!?"lance shouted in anger as the panther faunus hissed at them
"Oh big deal i cut her! Not like she didn't deserve it for always being annoying. None of you even care about what happened to uncle colt!"isa shouted as right now the wolf growled trying to go for her at that moment but lance tried to hold the two apart.
With rosa right now reaching her limit seeing all of this as she had enough. Before screaming right now as it echoed in the hall
"ENOUGH!"rosa shouted as her eyes flashed silver for a moment catching them offguard right now. As the teen stepped forward
"I have been worried sick about your mental and physical health isa! But right now cut the crap because tomorrow is the tournament! If we act this we'll just loose! And your not the only one who misses uncle so quit thinking your the only one!"Rosa shouted as it got quiet for a moment as she took a breath to calm down
"I'm leaving bye jerks"isa said stomping off right now as they all watched her leave
"Whats up with her right now?"lance asked annoyed by this as he healed nyx cheek
"Whatever it is she needs to learn not to be a dam prick"nyx growled as rosa soften her gaze for a moment
"Guys…we…need to find her mom…i…i think we should talk about the rave"rosa said making the two go silent as isa walked away hugging herself right as they didn't understand the pain the cat faunus is going through right now.
It seems that isa snapped at her teammates after struggling with her sleep for a long time after the rave events. But rogue plans to try and connect with her son tonight at the concert. How will it go? Thanks for reading!
