Chapter 6 The Pendant of Power
(Disclaimer: I do not Own Pokémon. Pokémon Belongs to Game Freak and Nintendo).
(A/N #1: I forgot to mention this at the end of the last chapter, but from this Point forward, when Pikachu or any other Pokémon speaks like a human would, it is not due to having Telepathy like Meowth or any of the other Talking Pokémon from the Movies. (But if I do have a Pokémon talk like a Human using Telepathy, I will be sure to say so directly when it occurs)). But the Pokémon will only be talking like humans to make reading it easier for you readers).
(Later that morning after staring at the Bright and Sunny Sky from his bedroom window, Ash had gotten dressed and had Breakfast. All with his trademark smile, which was a huge relief to Pikachu, his mother, Delia, and Mr. Mime. They had missed seeing Ash being his Casual, Upbeat, and eager self a whole lot. After finishing his Breakfast, Ash took Pikachu up to his room and told him in private about the dream he had, his meeting with Mew, and The Mew Diamond, since Mew Gave him permission to tell Pikachu about it. And Pikachu agreed to keep it a secret for Ash. Now Ash was Staring in a Mirror looking at The Mew Diamond around his Neck with Pikachu on his Shoulders. Ash was amazed at the Power this single Diamond could have according to Mew. But then Ash remembered something he should have asked Mew before).
Ash: But how does it work? Man, I wish I remembered to ask about that when I had a chance. And who knows when I will have the chance to see Mew again. (Then Pikachu said from its place on Ash's Shoulder).
Pikachu: I do not know. But until then, we will just have to work with what we got till then. (Ash nods agreeing with Pikachu).
Ash: Ah, no matter. What do you say we go and then find someone to battle? (This gets Pikachu excited at seeing his best Buddy all excited and fired up just like he used to be).
Pikachu: That is my Buddy all right! And I am in! (Smiling with Confidence, Ash puts his Signature Kalos Cap on, making sure to safely tuck The Mew Diamond under his Shirt to hide it from onlookers and then runs out of his Bedroom door. Runs down the Steps towards the Front Door, shouting to his mom).
Ash: Bye Mom, I will see you later. (Delia and Mr. Mime who were in the Kitchen when they heard Ash say this, while surprised just chuckled to herself and smiled with Mr. Mime, were simply happy to see Ash back to normal, or their version of normal at least).
Delia: That is my son for you. (Then she smiled as she returned to washing Dishes with Mr. Mime).
(Now Ash was running excitedly to Professor Oak's Laboratory with Pikachu on his Shoulder. Ash was hoping to ask the professor if he knew of any strong Pokémon trainers to battle. But once he got Closer to the Fence surrounding the Laboratory, he and Pikachu gasped when they saw someone talking to Professor Oak that made Ash turn on his heels run back and hide inside a Nearby alley. Luckily, neither Professor Oak nor the person he was talking to happen to notice Ash and Pikachu's Presence. Once they were safe in the Alleyway, Ash at once took a seat as he tried to collect himself and compose himself).
Ash: Oh Man. Its Gary! He is back!
Pikachu: Yes, he is Ash.
Ash: What am I going to do Pikachu? Because I am not sure if I can face Gary again. (Pikachu tries to comfort and reassure Ash).
Pikachu: Ash, you got to try. Remember you got yourself something to help you win Battles now. (Ash then remembered that Pikachu was right, and that he had The Mew Diamond with him as he began to smile at his Partner as he began to stand up as he was feeling better now).
Ash: Yes, your right Pikachu. (Then Pikachu smiled back at Ash, then spotted a Nearby Square Wall Mirror lying on the Ground nearby and went to Pick it up to show to Ash, as he tucked The Mew Diamond back under his Shirt again. Thankfully, the Wall Mirror was neither too large nor too heavy for Pikachu to Pick up. Pikachu then Brought the Mirror over to Ash, placing it directly across from him and had Ash look into the Mirror).
Pikachu: Look into this Mirror here Ash for a Couple of Moments and tell me what you see. (Ash looks into the Mirror and stays quiet for close to a Whole Minute, before answering Pikachu's question).
Ash: Well, I see... Me.
Pikachu: Exactly. You are you, Ash. And I know you are brave enough and have the confidence to Face Gary in Battle once more. (Ash smiles back feeling a bit of his Confidence coming back to him. Then The Mew Diamond began to glow and shine bright pink as the power it holds begins to surge from under Ash's shirt without him or Pikachu noticing).
Ash: That is right Pikachu. Let us not forget how I have battled and won against even stronger opponents then Gary before, like Blaine, Whitney, Juan, the Entire Battle Frontier, Fantina, Roxie, Viola, Korrina, Sawyer, Gladion, Paul, and Trip. (As Ash felt his Confidence continuing to grow, The Mew Diamond's glow and shine began to intensify even more, but Ash and Pikachu still had not noticed it yet). If I was able to beat them before, then I should have no problem beating Gary now. (Ash then confidently thrust his fist into the air shouting confidently). And I WILL! (Then suddenly The Mew Diamond began to Shine brightly and intensely, finally getting Ash and Pikachu's attention. They both went wide eyed in shock as Ash took the Diamond out from under his Shirt and began staring at it with Pikachu, both wondering what was going on).
Pikachu: What happening? (Ash was just as confused as Pikachu was).
Ash: I do not know Pikachu! (Then The Mew Diamond's Intense Pink Glow began to intensify even more with its Power beginning to spread from the Pendant to Ash, spreading all over his Body, causing him to panic). What is going on?! (The Pink Energy from The Mew Diamond continued to spread over Ash's Body, once it finishes covering every inch of his body, all to Pikachu's horror, The Mew Diamond then released a Bright Flash of light that came close to blinding Pikachu in the process. Pikachu then covered his eyes and looked away to avoid having the Bright light blind him. During the whole thing, Pikachu could have sworn he heard sounds resembling a coin flip and a "whoosh" sort of sound coming from where Ash was standing. A couple of moments later, the Blinding Bright Light died down, then Pikachu looked over to where Ash was and then Gasped in shock at what he saw).
Pikachu: Ash!? Is that you?!
(Meanwhile, a Couple of minutes later, Gary was talking with his Grandfather Professor Oak about something on the Research they were doing, when they heard heavy footsteps approaching them, Gary assumed they were coming from a Pair of boots. When they turned around to see who it was, they came face to face with the face of a person who neither of them had ever seen before, and the Stranger had a Pikachu on his Shoulder. After a couple of moments of silence, Gary asked the Stranger standing before him and Professor Oak).
Gary: Can we help you? (The Stranger smiled kindly at them).
Stranger: Yes, are you Gary Oak and his Grandfather Professor Oak?
Gary: Yes, I am Gary Oak.
Professor Oak: And I am Professor Oak. Esteemed Professor and Researcher of the relationships between people and Pokémon. But Who are you? (The Stranger then Smiled as went on to Answer Professor Oak's Question).
Stranger: Well, my Name is...
(Meanwhile, back in the alley where Ash and Pikachu were a Couple of minutes ago. Pikachu was staring wide eyed at the Person who was standing exactly where Ash was standing moments ago. But now in Ash's place was a Man who Pikachu vaguely remembers seeing a long time ago but could not place a name to the man's face. Pikachu was freaking out big time, before he finally managed to say as the Man saw his reflection in the mirror that Pikachu brought over moments ago).
Pikachu: Ash!? Is that you?! (The Man then said to Pikachu).
Ash: Yes, it is Me Pikachu. (Pikachu was still freaking out a little bit and needed to be sure this was Ash here).
Pikachu: Prove it. Tell me something that only Ash would know about me.
Ash: You have a special fondness for ketchup, and orange juice. But you also have a distaste for the radishes from Poni Island. And you would repeatedly use Thunderbolt to accidentally destroy someone's bike or unintentionally shock them. It happened to Misty, May, Dawn, Iris, and Bonnie. (Pikachu was shocked but remembered that each of those things really did happen, letting him know this Stranger really is Ash).
Pikachu: It is you, Ash! Okay. Phew, that is a Relief. But now we gotta figure out what happened to you.
Ash: It could be that Mew's Diamond transformed into... (Ash looks at himself using the Mirror) whoever or whatever I am.
Pikachu: Ash, this appearance you have right now looks remarkably familiar to me. Like I have seen it before. (Ash then takes another look at himself in the mirror and feels like he has seen this new face of his before somewhere).
Ash: Yes, I think your right. That I have seen someone like this before. (Ash then takes a moment to look hard in the mirror trying to see if he could remember where he last saw someone who looked like him. Then Suddenly something seemed to flash through Ash's Mind as he saw Multiple images passing by in sequence. First he saw a Large Majestic Palace, then he saw the Biggest Tree in the World, special flowers that allowed people to see stuff that occurred in the past, a Pokémon who was sealed inside in a Staff with a Blue Diamond in the Middle of it, and finally a Massively Large and Majestic Painting of someone who he couldn't make out too well until the next image gave him a closer look at the Painting. As that last image flashed through his mind, he gasped as he realized just who he was. Then the Sequence of Flashing Images finally stopped as Ash Came back to reality. The impact of having the images flash through his mind looked to take a bit of a toll on Ash as he at once collapsed to his knees breathing heavily, as Pikachu rushed to his side).
Pikachu: Ash are you okay?! What happened?! (Ash does not answer Pikachu right away, due to still trying to catch his breath after that).
Ash: Pikachu, I know who the Diamond transformed me into. (Pikachu was surprised to hear that as he then asked).
Pikachu: Really you do Ash? Who?
Ash: Yes, I do Pikachu, my name is...
(Back in the present, Gary and Professor Oak asked the Stranger with them for his name and then tells them his name).
Stranger: ... Aaron. Sir Aaron. (He then held his hand out to Professor Oak and Gary for a handshake).
Gary: Nice to meet You Sir Aaron. (Then Professor Oak goes shake hands with Sir Aaron).
Professor Oak: Welcome to my Laboratory. (But what Gary and Professor Oak did not know was that they were really talking to Ash Ketchum who transformed into Sir Aaron, and it did not hurt that he also had Sir Aaron's voice after transforming into him. But Ash and Pikachu had no intention of telling anyone about that anytime soon, as per Mew's Request).
Sir Aaron (Ash): You too. (Then Gary friendly asked Sir Aaron).
Gary: So, how can we help you?
Sir Aaron (Ash): Well, I heard how skilled of a Battler you were, Gary and I was hoping to see your skills in Battle. What do you say?
Gary: Sure, I could use a break. (Gary then turns to Professor Oak). Is that okay Grandpa?
Professor Oak: Sure, why not. Plus, I will go ahead and officiate the battle for you too.
Sir Aaron (Ash): Thanks Professor. (Professor Oak nods happily to function as the Referee for Sir Aaron and Gary).
(Sir Aaron and Gary Oak were now Standing on a Battlefield of Grass, with Professor Oak Standing between them, ready to start the Procedure for the Battle between Sir Aaron and Gary as the Sky Started to Darken).
Sir Aaron (Ash): Please do not hold back on me Gary. (Gary confidently smirks back at his opponent).
Gary Oak: Well, you better not hold back either Sir Aaron. (Then Professor Oak said beginning the procedure for the Battle between Sir Aaron and Gary).
Professor Oak: This Battle Between Sir Aaron and Gary Oak is about to begin. This will be a one-on-one battle with no substitutions and no time limit. The Battle will be over when one sides Pokémon are unable to Continue. And now if you please, bring out your Pokémon! (Gary takes out his Pokéball first).
Gary: Since your new here, I do you a favor and show you my Pokémon First. (Then Gary throws his Pokéball, releasing his Pokémon of Choice to Sir Aaron... VENUSAUR! Seeing this Ash looks on Determined to beat Venusaur this time. As painful as it was remembering his last battle with Gary and his Venusaur, he knew had to remember everything he could from the battle if he was going to have any chance of winning this time around).
Sir Aaron (Ash): A Venusaur huh? It looks quite strong. It has been a while since I last battled one. This ought to be interesting. (Gary nor Professor Oak knew the truth behind Sir Aaron saying that it has been a while since he last battled a Venusaur. Only Pikachu knew that bit of truth. Gary then teased his Opponent a little saying).
Gary: My Venusaur is extremely strong. It is not too late to give up now. (Ash knew that there was no chance he was going to back out now. He had to make a Comeback as a Pokémon Trainer. And he figured beating Gary was a good starting place. Ash gritted his teeth and said back to Gary).
Sir Aaron (Ash): No way, I am ready to battle! (Ash then turned to Pikachu on his Shoulder). Pikachu, Buddy. You do not mind sitting this one battle out, right? (Pikachu then smiled as he jumped off to stand beside Ash).
Pikachu: Not at all Buddy. (Ash then reached for one of his Pokéballs and held it out in his hands so that he and Gary Oak could see it and thought to himself, staring at Venusaur).
Sir Aaron (Ash): Given what happened in my Last Battle with Venusaur, simply trying to overpower Venusaur like I did then will not work especially after Mega Evolving. To take his Venusaur down, I will need to use a Pokémon who can really hang in there, preferably from a Distance, then launch a serious attack. (Then Ash looked to the Pokéball in his hand, knowing that Pokémon he was going to use to take Gary's Venusaur Down was in it and said aloud). GO! GLISCOR! (But when the Pokéball opened, what Ash was not his Pokémon of Choice, Gliscor but instead he got another Pokémon entirely. One that Gary recognized at once).
Gary: Wow. A Lucario! (Indeed, the Pokémon standing on the Battlefield in front of Ash was in fact a Lucario, not Gliscor. Leaving both Ash and Pikachu shocked). This will be the first time I ever battled a Lucario. (Ash was confused. He was certain that it was Gliscor's Pokéball he took out since he had grabbed his Gliscor's Pokéball from his Drawer when he left his room this morning. So, where did this Lucario come from? Before Ash could think about this anymore Professor Oak continued the battle procedure).
Professor Oak: It has been Determined that Gary will Have the First Move. Ready? BATTLE BEGIN! (Ash (As Sir Aaron) and Gary Oak Clash in a VS. Scene. Ash decided that he would have to figure out this Lucario thing later as Gary gave the first Battle Command to Venusaur).
Gary: Venusaur! Use Energy Ball! (Venusaur fired an Energy Ball at Lucario).
Sir Aaron (Ash): Lucario! Use Detect! (Lucario used its Detect Attack to avoid having Venusaur's Energy Ball attack hit it). Now use Aura Sphere! (Once Lucario's Detect attack ended, Lucario at once prepared an Aura Sphere attack that it fired at Venusaur. Seeing the Aura Sphere Coming, Gary Shouted).
Gary: Quick Venusaur! Use Protect! (Venusaur managed to use its Protect Attack in time before Lucario's Aura Sphere could hit, leaving Gary feeling a bit relieved at that quick save of Venusaur's as he thought to himself). That was Close. This Lucario looks to be incredibly strong, I should not take any chances here. (Gary then reached for his Key Stone saying to Venusaur). VENUSAUR! IT IS TIME… (Gary Oak Grips his Key Stone Necklace). TO MEGA EVOLVE! (Venusaur Reveals its Mega Stone, Venusaurite attached to the tree on a Venusaur's back. Then Venusaur Begins Mega Evolving. Once Finished, Venusaur is now Mega Venusaur. Mega Venusaur Roars Loudly. Seeing this Ash knew he must have managed to truly intimidate Gary a bit and make him nervous).
Sir Aaron (Ash): So, Gary's already jumping into Mega Evolution huh? Now that Venusaur has Mega Evolved I got to stay Careful and not get too ahead of myself and make a mistake that could cause me to lose. (Then Ash said to Gary). Wow. A Mega Venusaur huh? That is Quite Impressive. But let us see if can stand up to my Lucario's Power. Lucario Use Extreme Speed! (Lucario begins running towards Mega Venusaur to attack it with Extreme Speed, having its body become surrounded in a green aura and it charges at Mega Venusaur at blinding speed. Seeing how Fast Lucario was coming had Gary panicking a bit as he shouted to Mega Venusaur).
Gary: Quick Use Double Team! (Mega Venusaur used Double Team, making its body glow white and it creates multiple copies of itself, there are enough Mega Venusaur Copies to Completely Surround Lucario, but Lucario does not stop Zooming from one Fake Mega Venusaur to another, until Lucario finally hits the Real Mega Venusaur, causing a ton of Damage). No Way! (Ash was liking the way the battle was going as the Clouds in the Sky began to part a little).
Sir Aaron (Ash): Yes way! Now Lucario use Aura Sphere! (Lucario Fired another Aura Sphere at Mega Venusaur).
Gary: Venusaur counter with Energy Ball! (Mega Venusaur fires its Energy Ball at Lucario's Aura Sphere. When the two attacks hit each other, it caused an explosion filling the area with smoke as the Clouds in the Sky had cleared completely but Gary did not notice this. Gary was getting worried as he could tell that the battle was not going in his Favor as he thought to himself). This is not going well. Venusaur is running out of Steam. So, I am going to have to finish this now. (Then Gary shouts to his Mega Venusaur). MEGA VENUSAUR USE SOLARBEAM! (Mega Venusaur has its flower closes and yellow and green orbs of energy cover it, as Mega Venusaur's Flower absorbs the sunlight inside of it. Due to the Skies being Clear, and there was a Shining Sun, the Solar Beam attack was able to Charge up very quickly. The flower then opens, and it releases a yellow beam of energy from it at Lucario. But Ash just Calmly responded to this attack telling Lucario).
Sir Aaron (Ash): Lucario! Counter that Solar Beam with your Steel Beam attack! (An orb of bluish-silver energy forms in front of Lucario's hands. It then fires a beam of energy from the orb at the incoming Solar Beam attack from Mega Venusaur. When the Two Power Packed Moves collided, they began a back and forth power push, with each attack pushing each other back and forth for a couple seconds before finally the Steel Beam completely overpowered the Solar Beam, pushing the attack from Mega Venusaur back towards it, catching Mega Venusaur by surprise, before the Steel Beam attack hit Mega Venusaur, causing a Massive explosion. Throw the Smoke from the Explosion everyone could hear Mega Venusaur's Cries of Pain as Gary Shouted in panic for his Pokémon).
Gary: No way! VENUSAUR! (When the Smoke cleared, Mega Venusaur had collapsed, then changing back from its Mega Form to its Non-Mega Form, as it groaned in pain with Spirals in its eyes, showing it has ended up knocked out. While Lucario was Still standing, albeit looking a bit exhausted due to the massive amount of Recoil damage it took from using Steel Beam. Seeing Venusaur Knocked out, Professor Oak does his part as the Referee).
Professor Oak: Venusaur is Unable to battle. Lucario Wins. Which means that the winner of this Match is Sir Aaron. (Gary Runs over to Venusaur to check on him).
Gary: Venusaur! Are you okay? (Venusaur wakes up and gives Gary an apologetic looking, but Gary just smiles at Venusaur giving a Proud Look). Thanks for battling so hard. You should be immensely proud. And do not worry. We will win next time, okay? (Venusaur smiles as this and nods its head, as if to say, "Okay". Then Gary returns Venusaur to its Pokéball. Then Gary and Professor Oak looked over to Sir Aaron, his Lucario, and Pikachu. Ash was feeling especially happy that he finally won another battle as he praised Lucario).
Sir Aaron (Ash): Great Job Lucario. You were amazing. (Lucario just bowed to his Master on one knee, appreciating the praise he was getting, before thanking him verbally through Telepathy).
Lucario: It was my honor, Sir Aaron, I was happy to fight for you. (Then Ash Smiled as he took out Lucario's Pokéball and had Lucario return saying to him).
Sir Aaron (Ash): You are welcome. But now take a Good Rest, my friend. (Lucario, still bowing to Sir Aaron, nodded his head as Ash returned Lucario to its Pokéball. Once Lucario was back in its Pokéball, Gary and Professor Oak approached Sir Aaron and Pikachu).
Gary: Hey Sir Aaron. Great battle.
Professor Oak: A Fine Battle indeed. (Ash smiles at receiving praise like this).
Sir Aaron (Ash): Thank you. (Then Gary asked wanting to know something).
Gary: Just where did you get a Lucario like that? It was so strong. (Ash was about to think of a Fake answer to give them when suddenly something flashed in his head, and he could suddenly hear someone's voice directed at him, he at once recognized the voice belonging to Mew).
Mew: Ash! Your Transformation is about to time out! Get out of there! Get out of there now! (Then Mew's Voice went away leaving Ash alone. Ash could already start feeling pain reverberating throughout his body, and he knew that Mew was right somehow. But Gary and Professor Oak noticed his tries to hide the pain he was feeling).
Gary: Hey are you okay?
Professor Oak: Is something wrong? (Ash just tried to brush them off telling as he managed to stand back on his feet).
Sir Aaron (Ash): Its nothing. Gotta Go! (Ash then took off running with Pikachu following close behind. Hoping to get away and transform back before they figured out his secret. As Ash ran away, he shouted back to them). Let us battle again sometime! (Professor Oak and Gary just watched as Ash and Pikachu ran away).
Gary: That was weird.
Professor Oak: It Certainly was.
(A Short time later, Ash and Pikachu were running, having made it back to the alleyway where Ash first turned into Sir Aaron. All the while, the pain in his body continued to increase as time went on, with Ash nearly collapsing in pain before he could get back here. But thankfully, he managed to push himself through the pain and make it back here successfully. After taking a couple of seconds to make sure he was alone, Ash stopped fighting the transformation as he fell to the ground, and let the transformation time out, turning him back from Sir Aaron to Ash Ketchum. Once the transformation was successful, Ash began to feel much better as he slowly managed to get his breath back).
Ash: Oh man, that was painful. But thank Arceus I am back to normal now, and no one is the wiser. (Pikachu was a little worried for Ash's wellbeing).
Pikachu: Are you sure that your okay Ash? (Ash stands up, still a little exhausted from changing back, but still manages to smile back at Pikachu, reassuring him).
Ash: Do not sweat it Pikachu. Because I am okay now. (Pikachu was still a little for Ash but decided to take his word for out).
Pikachu: If you say so Ash. But now a question. Where did that Lucario come from? Didn't you intend to use Gliscor during that battle? (Ash thinks about for a second before answering Pikachu's question).
Ash: Yes, I did. I even made sure to grab Gliscor's Pokéball when I left my room this morning. (Pikachu then realized something).
Pikachu: Hey, wait. Maybe when you turned into Sir Aaron, you gained access to his Roster of Pokémon. Like Lucario. (Ash realizes that Pikachu has a good point about that).
Ash: You could be right Pikachu. And hey, I was still able to win the battle, so it all works out in the end. (Pikachu smiled in agreement with Ash).
Pikachu: That is true. And you were amazing Ash. You and Lucario both were. (Ash smiled at Pikachu's praising of him).
Ash: Thanks Buddy. (Then Ash let out a yawn, feeling a little tired suddenly). Do you know what? Now, I could use a nap. Why don't we head home and get a bit of rest?
Pikachu: Okay then. (With that, Ash, and Pikachu head out of the alleyway, making their way back home. With Ash particularly joyous with his Battle victory over Gary. And was looking forward to more wins in the battles ahead, and seeing what other kinds of powers he could use thanks to The Mew Diamond with the skies as bright as ever, just like Ash's Bright Future, and his Confidence).
