Ayden762: You wanna insult me? Fine. You want to insult my characters? Then why do you bother reading? I know that people like you hate Luke, and I'll respect that, but that doesn't mean I want to hear you. Hate in silence, because I have no interest in listening. Yes, I know Luke is bad. The thing is, he is bad in canon. Is this canon? No. So why the hell are you calling him a creep here? Let me be, because not only are you insulting my characters, you insult my personality, my writing, and me in general. Also, I want to suggest that you get some grammar lessons before you write a hate comment. Even better, just leave. I hate people like you, who think you're so entitled that you can voice out your opinion to people who don't give a shit. You're entitled to having your own opinion, but don't insult others because they have contradicting perspectives of things. Go insult Luke in other fanfics where they absolutely loath him. I've read quite a few of them, they do exist.
and just because you say no offence, doesn't mean you can just spout whatever you want. I've seen you in Sea&Fire, and I tried to be nice, but saying my story is crappy just because of something you think might happen is crossing a line. I do hope you won't show up again. Are you going to yell at me now? And Luke is so much better than Apollo or Zeus. You want to compare a fictional character to mythological rapists, don't do it here.
If I could ban a comment, yours would be the first to go.
Kitsune: HI MY FRIEND. Enjoy this chapter. I really like the first part. It was added a couple months ago, but it really shows Percy, what do you think? :)
Don't mess up. For Chaos sake, do not mess up.
I tell myself this a million times, yet my hands still shook with fear. My palms were sweating. I knew he was there, waiting for me. If I messed up, he would readily step in, but I didn't want him to. I wanted to do this, I must finish it.
The man was lounging on the couch, watching the holographic version of a television. He barely noticed when I slipped in through his window, unnoticed like a shadow. Only when my sword was at his throat did he react. Before the first scream escaped, I slid my sword across his neck.
Blood splattered on the pristine white couch. His body slumped down onto the ground, blood still pouring. His eyes were glassy. There was no other movement.
"Good job." He whispered. Like a caress. "You were amazing, sweetling. So amazing."
He took away my sword from my trembling hand. "You get used to it eventually." He said sympathetically.
"I don't want 'eventually'." I whisper, the first words I've said since today. "I want to get used to it now. I shouldn't even feel remorse."
He grabbed my hair gently, retying it into a proper ponytail. "You wouldn't be you if you didn't feel remorse, sweetling."
"You make it sound like a good thing." That man was evil. He killed everyone in his family because they didn't want to bail him out of jail. It wasn't out of spite, it was because they had been struggling with money. He didn't care. So why do I feel a funny feeling in my stomach and why couldn't I take my eyes off of him?
He kissed my neck. "It is a good thing. When it comes to you, it'll always be a good thing. My siren."
"My hero." I finally took a step back, turning back to him. "Who's next?"
"I told you not to call me that." His eyes flashed with displeasure, though not at me.
"I will call you that until you believe it," I replied, undaunted.
He leaned back down to kiss my neck again. "Then let's go before we waste more time arguing."
He offered his arm and I took it before vapor-traveling both of us away from the crime scene.
When people found out about his death, they said "good riddance" and never even bothered to go looking for the assassin.
542 years later ? Pov
Do you know what's fun? Tag. Don't like it? Boo hoo. I love it.
I giggled as I ran past the beautiful wildflowers into the forests. It was after heavy rain so the leaves were wet, dew dropping as I ducked past them. The grass was damp and made a squelching sound as I stepped into it.
"Can't catch me! Can't catch me!" It's so childish to say that but what can I say? Age is but a number.
The tall man behind me radiated with power. At least 6'5 with charming violet eyes. There were weird white sparks in his eyes twinkling humorlessly as he tried (and failed) to catch me. "Seirína!" He groaned. "I told you before don't call me that!" I pouted. "I'm not Seirína! I don't kill people!"
Seirína, Σειρήνα, Greek for siren, is a silent assassin. She's widely known in the 9 planets, able to kill anyone no matter where they hide. They called her the malicious one. The tight-lipped one. One who has eyes everywhere. Always the hunter and never the prey.
She's incredible. Every innocent kid wants to be like her. Until they grow up and understand that the new she delivers justice is by killing the evildoer. She is a legend meant to cut off the rate of evil. The bolder ones don't believe her. They end up dead by the week. But no one ever sees the kill. They know it isn't an accident though. For there was always a crystal rose near the victim. The rose stains the place in rainbow colors that somehow spell out Seirína in each color.
That's how we know the name, Seirína.
And now, this dude is convinced I'm her. Like seriously, I'm seven!
"Don't bother, Seirína. We both know that you can shapeshift. That's how you've always managed to stay undetected. Don't force me to go extreme."
"Still don't know Seirína!" I sang as I flipped around on a tree branch. The dude groaned. Suddenly, the branch I was hanging on disappeared and I fell on my butt.
I stayed silent for a second, shocked at his audacity. Chaos also stopped, staring at me warily as I clambered to my feet, blinking. A moment passed. A breeze came and went. Suddenly, it was like the rope snapped.
"Oh, it's on." I snarled. "Fuck you, Chaos!" With that, I shapeshifted back to my regular self, to reveal the cloak I had on. A beautiful dark magenta with a black outline. A rose was on my chest, just above my heart, minus the stem. My face was shrouded in shadows, except for my mouth which I had formed a thin line.
"Woah there. Language." Chaos placed his hands up. "Oh shut up. Now I have to severely injure you and get blackmail so that you would shut up. Do you know how troublesome that is? You were always so close but now, it's serious. I can't have all my effort wasted."
I waved my left hand, and Ανελεητος appeared on my right. It was well-named and has never let me down. I have a few new modifications to it though. The most obvious one is the rune on the hilt. It was 'return'. To always return to me. Of course, it was indestructible, made of metals and minerals of this universe. The silver Artemis uses. Celestial bronze. Imperial gold. Mortal steel. Cymosdinite from planet Mercury. Bremacokesrite, a mineral from planet Saturn, has extraordinary capabilities like sucking up a deity's powers for a temporary amount of time. And quartz from Mars, the planet. Its name was Floryptite, if anyone was curious. Wasn't sure about the name of the first. There were other metals, but I don't want you to get confused.
My ring, well, my promise ring, was special. The ring is a symbol between my boyfriend and me. To never abandon each other. To always trust the other and never betray each other. We had also placed runes in them.
Sense. It is literal. We can always somewhat sense when the other is around or close by. As long as they have the right. so it's a tracking device, but still. The connection cuts when we are far away from each other though.
Summon. We never carry along weapons because we could simply summon them with a wave of our hands. Well, any weapon with the 'return' rune on them.
Shapeshift. This is self-explanatory. We can shift into any human/creature face to cover us with a thought and remove it. It relies on our concentration. If it's super high, no one can remove it. No one has ever caught me before today.
Right now, Chaos and I were having an intense stare-down. He was stalling, waiting for me to make a move. But I was smart. I haven't been on the top Wanted lists for the past 213 years for no reason. Of course, I killed the ones who made the lists. But still. I have trained and trained and trained. Just so one day I could defeat the lord of the universe. He had something I needed. Other than that… I honestly don't care about him.
"Tell me, Seirína. Do you like it? Being wanted everywhere? Do you wish you never had such a career? If you wanted, I could give you a much better job."
"Is that how you recruit people for your army, Chaos? Well, don't bother. I hate it. You may think everyone loves more power. I don't. I just want a somewhat peaceful life. With no one to influence me. No one to decide if I can live or not. No one looking up at me, convinced I'm a great person, a great leader. No. That life is gone. Never coming back. And I hated it anyway. It was a life I was born into. This life, Chaos?" I spread my hands wide, gesturing to the nature around us. "This is what I want. Freedom. Freedom to choose. To live. Not to just survive." Even I could hear the bitterness.
"But enough talking. Weren't we having our little fight?" I shifted down, positioning my feet. Ready to attack or defend in time.
Chaos backs a little, also getting ready. None of us was leaving without a fight.
I smiled a little. "You know what? Let's do this the old-fashioned way. I do wish to see your skills, Chaos. Without powers."
"Afraid I'll kill you?" He asked, undaunted.
"You will not kill me," I said certainly. "My position makes me invaluable, Chaos, and your universe, the one you work so hard to desperately protect, will fall if you kill me. Besides, I won't give you the chance to go too close."
To prove my goodwill, I slipped off my necklace. Chaos's eyes widened almost comically. "So that's why I felt like something was missing." He muttered. "You stole it."
"You searched for me for centuries." I smiled. "Word of advice. If you don't want someone to get a super delicate, super special, destroy-the-world item, don't get lost in a crowd with it in your pocket. Remember: Mercury is infamous for its thieves." I am no thief though. Merely a borrower.
"You defeated the guardian." He said almost impressed. "Alone."
"Kálaïlinos is my precious. Of course I did." I agreed, running a finger down the side of my jewel. Want me to backtrack a little? No problem.
See, in this world-
Actually, I'm not going to start there. Too long-winded and makes everyone want to fall asleep.
Basically, kálaïlinos is a turquoise crystal. The only of her kind. Her powers are almost indefinite if the wielder knows how to use her. Because of that, Void (Chaos's elder sister) hid it away in the deepest trench of the ocean and entrusted Chaos with the only map that would lead a searcher to the jewel.
I stole it about a few centuries ago, before I got famous as an assassin, made a copy of it, returned it to Chaos about a few days later, and found my way to her.
Technically, her name is the Godlenite, but who even likes that name? My one is better. The primordials back then had zero sense in good names.
Flipping back my hair, I placed kálaïlinos in my back pocket, zipping it up. Chaos watched my movement with a wariness not most would see the Creator of the Universe with.
"I don't want to join your army." I said quietly. "Not because I don't believe in what you're doing, but because of the people. Call me a coward, a weakling, whatever you like, but I cannot live with them." Did I know who was in his army? Not really. However, I have heard mentions of them and I had a good inkling I knew who the commander of the Earth Sector was.
His Army was responsible for protecting the Universe. Eight commanders for eight planets, fifteen warriors in each sector. I had a feeling I knew at least some people from the Earth Sector and I wasn't happy about seeing them again.
I raised Ανελέητος, pointing her tip at Chaos. "You've searched for me for centuries. For years, I have done my job, and I escaped from you. Honestly, I didn't expect you to catch up to me this time, but it doesn't matter. You and I will leave this place. And frankly? I hope to never see you again."
"You can't dissuade me, Seirína."
"Maybe not. But I can go back to the way things were before this. You chasing, but never catching me." I winked. "Know a distraction when you see one, Chaos."
His eyes widened. Kálaïlinos engulfed me in a bright light, her powers working undetected until the moment. (I placed her in my pocket to hide it. My clothes were special like that.) A shield of pure energy burst out, like a shield, covering me and pushing Chaos away. I watched as he was knocked off his feet. I know, I'm brilliant.
I blew him a kiss before letting the earth swallow me. My job here was done. Time to go back. Back to my home. Back to my Luke.

Sometimes, I can't tell whether I love my house, or hate it. I usually go with the former, but there are some pretty horrible memories as well. Not to mention the security risk.
We stationed ourselves on Chaon. Why? There's a reason why we stationed ourselves on Chaon. One I'm not telling. Hehe.
All things considered, it was a nice house. We got it under the name Andrea, my middle name. There had been some arguments at the beginning but in the end, we had chosen to opt out Luke's middle name. He was against using his name, I wanted to use it. However, he gave a pretty great argument and I finally agreed that Icarus was going to be too suspicious. He's a Greek Figure. Chaos was going to be searching for anything related to Ancient Greek when searching for me.
The exterior is also kinda nice. Pretty even. The walls were a shade of sea-blue (Luke suggested it, not me) and we had a garden on our rooftop. We spent at least a decade just growing trees and flowers to make our home seem livelier than it actually was. On Chaon, every form of life can co-exist. It would make even the best astronomer question their existence. If only that could happen one day, it would actually be funny.
It was a two-story house (for the two of us) with three bedrooms. Why? Heck, I didn't know. Luke and I share a room. One of the two rooms was designed for a girl, the other for a boy. But no one has used them in over… a few centuries. I think there was dust collecting already.
Other than that, there was a kitchen (even though we mostly have take-outs or dine on other planets), a living room, two libraries because one wasn't enough, three storage rooms for the weirdest junk ever, a computer room for Luke, a dressing room for me, and the study. That's just above ground.
"Oh, Luke!" I sang as I twirled into our living room. Luke was idly sitting on a couch, absently tapping his pencil on the counter lost in thought. Must be planning something again. He loves to make lists. Grocery lists, to-do lists, to-kill lists, amongst others. He had decided to leave everything to me for once and sit back. I could've done that too, but I decided, why want to have a boring life? Nah, something more exciting was better. While I was out 'getting the fame' as he calls it, he worked in the background. I mean, I wasn't about to spend hours on paperwork. Luke's a magician when it comes to those things. I once had a year of paperwork left unfinished. He finished them over the span of twelve hours.
Luke's glacier blue eyes twinkled when he saw me. Throughout all this time, he has truly been one person I knew I could rely on. Sometimes, he helped me with extracting information from the unwilling ones. Give this guy centuries to do whatever he wants and nothing can stand in his way. He's even better than Annabeth when it comes to tech stuff now. Although we're not supposed to use it… we don't actually care about that. Also, who knew there were over a thousand methods of torture with only a sword? Impressive, huh? Luke would be a dangerous enemy considering his excellent sword skills that are way out of my league. Too bad he's decided to not be a hero. I can't blame him.
Luke's 'I am ready to just collapse and fall asleep' expression changed to one of mischief seeing me. My waist-long raven hair swayed as I ran to him. "Hi, Angel." I twirled a strand of hair. "Not Angel, assassin now." Luke simply pulled me into his lap and straddled me.
We've had such a conversation before.
"So, our date?" I ran my hand through his silky hair. So soft…
He kissed my neck, sucking on a sensible spot. I smiled. "You looked so hot when you were facing Chaos, I couldn't resist."
Such a Casanova. Only to me. I wrapped my arms around his neck, closing in the distance between us. "You always tell me I look hot when I'm fighting."
"It's true though. I wouldn't lie about that." He kissed my cheek, teeth lightly grazing my skin. "Why else do you think I like to provoke you?"
Maybe because you know I like it when you're fighting as well. "Where do you want to go this time?"
"Uranus." He said without hesitation. "There's a fair going on. Occurs once every meteorite."
Oh. Right. I forgot about that (even though I was the one to stop the meteorite). "Give me a minute, then. I'll get changed."
I first got up to fold my cloak before giving him a glance. Meh. It's okay.
He had combed that unruly hair for once (but I messed it up again) and had a shirt that screamed "I love Saturn!" With the faint picture of Saturn waving in the background. I think he bought it as a joke when going to other planets. I'm not sure. His faded jeans hid a secret. The shrinkable notebook held the names of the ones I was to kill. He kept it because he said I was too irresponsible. I agree.
I quickly got dressed, wearing casually. I kept kálaïslinos under my black shirt with a smart white jacket with gray designs. And black jeans to match with cute cats at the bottom. And high heels. If you guessed they are black, you're right.
I took my purse that contained the minimum items. A tiny square of ambrosia, not that I actually use it. Very rare to get injuries except when planets have warred against each other. But you never knew.
A neatly folded magenta cloth. It unravels to be my cloak when I need it to be.
And lastly, a couple of makeup stuff and money to convince them that it's a purse. Because, why not? It's not like we're poor or anything. They can steal it if they want. Actually, my cloak's in there. Never mind. Don't steal.

Luke took me to this kind of carnival in Uranus. The planets weren't actually that different from Earth. Besides the peace, less pollution, exposed to Chaos and Greek mythology gods, they can be indistinguishable. And the many, many different species.
We were having fun, sparring with Fae. And winning of course. It's been a long time since we could have one date without my job interfering. At least 18 years. Or more. And we were enjoying every bit of it.
That was until Luke spotted someone. "Hey, Angel?" He murmured.
"Yes, Luke?"
"Do you remember that guy from Mars?"
I racked my brain for names. "Which one? Lord Kendrick? Minister Jordan? Minister Quasar? Ambassador Lochan?" There were a lot, okay.
"Yeah! Lochan. Wasn't he on the kill list?"
"Yeah. I was gonna go for him after Minlin. But Chaos came and I forgot."
"His charges were that he was suspected of thirty-five murders. Twelve illegal transactions. Eighty-three corruptions." Luke murmured to himself. "Brown, intriguing eyes. Red skin. Green hair. Considered swoon-worthy. He's used his charm to escape many prisons." I wrinkled my nose at that. Mars was weird. Their definition of swoon-worthy was so different from mine.
"Yeah. And why now? We're having our well-deserved date, Luke."
"Look left."
I turned right. Lochan was shuffling amongst the crowd, trying to blend in. "Oh, wow. I didn't see him there." I pursed my lips. "Well spotted."
"Looks like our date's ruined again." Luke hooked my arm around his.
"Want to do the honors?" I offered. "Fast or slow death?" Luke asked wryly.
"Depends. He has something he hasn't shared yet." I said softly in his ear. You could never be sure who was around here.
"We can never relax, can we?"
"Unfortunately, no. One day. Not today." Luke didn't reply.
Acting like the couple we were, we slowly made our way to our next victim. He was waiting for someone, I was sure. Kept looking at his wrist and tapping his foot. Luke played with my hair, which was a sweet and romantic thing in the public's eye. Actually, he was doing that to distract others while he set up the noise-blocking shield once we lured Lochan to a secluded area. I kept my hands behind my back, slowly working my way up from the floor. I was creating a second version of me out of water. Years of trying and trying, I finally got it. Hardly anyone noticed as I suddenly vanished and the copy of me took my place. As for where I went, well, I turned into water. Huh, that was almost funny. But it's true. Melting into water. Like how Nico can melt into shadows. But while he needs shadows, my body melts into water. I can do it anywhere, anytime. It helps because no one can see me that way.
I crept up to Lochan, activating my ring's power to become someone completely random, purposely bumping into him. His cup of tea splashed all over the floor as I giggled, only half acting. "I am so sorry."
"Clumsy little ***." He spat in the language of Uranians. You don't need to know what he said. "Begone."
Calmly, I placed my hidden dagger just below his spine. "You are so used to everyone doing what you say," I whispered in his ear, smiling for the audience. "How about you do what I say for once, and you might get mercy."
Just in my vision, I saw his eyes widen. "S- S- Sei-"
"We might have to wait another century for you to say her name properly." Luke remarked dryly. He seemed to have gotten everything prepared already, his hand over a small remote control. I only noticed it after years of assassination work with him. "Don't worry, it'll only be a short nap." His hand flew to Lochan's mouth. I could feel Lochan's blood suddenly freeze. When Luke removed his hand, Lochan was completely unmoving. He fell down, like a piece of wood.
"I'm not carrying him." I immediately said. Luke chuckled, bending down. "Never expected you to, Angel."
We teleported out of there.
While we waited for the spell to vanish, Luke set up the noise cancelling shield around us as I played eeny meeny miny moe on which weapon to use to threaten him.
After a while, when everything was done, I felt Lochan's blood moving again. I discreetly nodded to Luke who harshly tossed Lochan to the wall. I made a pair of handcuffs and Luke used them to immobile Lochan. We were still on Uranus, not because I wanted to, but because we didn't want Lochan to wake before we were ready.
Upon seeing me in my assassin outfit, with the cloak, the rose and everything, Lochan immediately started to freak out. Luke, standing to one side, hadn't been noticed yet, which I suppose was a good thing.
"Seirína!"
"That's my name, don't wear it out." I said calmly, striding over to him. "At least we don't actually have to wait a century."
"She promised! She promised you wouldn't come-"
"Oh?" I cocked my head, feigning curiosity. Sure I was curious. Still, never admit anything to your victim.
"And who might be devious enough to promise such a thing? Seirína makes no such deals." It felt so weird to refer to myself in the third person. But it got the job done.
"I-" he cut himself off. "No. You're tricking me. I won't tell you anything."
I let out a creepy cackle. "Only a few words in, and you already spilled so much. You know, you've changed. To be more stupid."
Lochan growled. "How dare you make fun of me."
"I dare a lot, actually." I mused. "I dared to leave my planet. I dared to love a former traitor. I dared to murder so many people. I dare to attract Chaos's attention. I've dared to steal from him. And survive. You would mean nothing. I've already done the paperwork needed to get you replaced. No one would miss you. Besides your crooks. But I've already dispatched them. Just you left." I shook my arm, revealing my glowing green eyes. Creepy. I love it. Of course, I did nothing of the sort. It's always kill and over. I don't care about the paperwork stuff. Unless Luke does something.
"However, I'm in a good mood, Lochan. If you can give me what you know, I'll consider letting you free and never bother you again. I'll even secure your place. You'll live happily ever after." Lochan was actually considering it. "And if I don't?"
"I will torture you till you break," I answered simply. "Every time you wish to die, I will increase the pain. Then, I'll leave you for a hundred couple years and come back again to continue. It's your choice. But either way, I'll get what I want."
Lochan moisturized his lips. "Fine. I choose the first."
"An excellent choice," I replied. "Now, let's start."
Lochan looked like he was regretting that decision.
An hour later, Luke and I walked out of the alley in our attire, a small amount of blood on his shirt, barely enough to raise questions. Nothing was left on Lochan. Nothing at all.
"Well, today's mood was ruined. How about karaoke?" I suggested wryly.
"You have a plan in your head already, don't you?" Luke stated. "You know me so well, of course, I do," Luke turned to me and placed his lips on mine. I hit the wall behind me, digging my fingers into his hair as I kissed back with equal passion. It took a while for him to say what he wanted to, his hot breath brushing gently across my face. "You know I'll always trust you, right?"
"I do," I whisper. "And now, I'll need to see how far that trust goes."
