It has been a couple of days since the whole team learned of Red Lanterns gruesome secret and things were a bit...weird around the base for some, particularly for only three members of the team. They aren't okay with killing and won't do it, but no one's gonna take that choice from them. Speaking of the team, they all were together, having been gathered for a meeting. It was the weekend so they all were there and as for who called the meeting or is holding it, it was Red Lantern. Apparently he wanted to discuss something and has something planned for the team to do. The team was waiting around for there leader.
Wally tapped his foot on the ground a bit fast, being very impatient. He had plans and they involved snacking on a bunch of junk food and having a movie marathon." He better get here soon or else I'm leaving. I have very important plans." He said.
The team has been a bit dysfunctional for awhile, not getting along as much and obvious trust problems. Artemis smirked at him a tad as she crosses her arms." Oh let me guess, it involves food and being lazy right?" She asked, being 100 percent right.
Wally of course didn't want to admit that what she said is true." It's Better than training to murder people." He said as he glares at her a tad.
This of course caused a chain reaction, causing the dividing team to argue with one and other. This would have kept on going, if it weren't for Aizen arriving, absorbing some of the anger from them all to get them all to calm down." Enough Arguing! Look, I know things aren't quite like it used to, but that is why we will be spending time training together for the weekend out in the wilderness. We will also be doing trust exercises." He explained as he crosses his arms a bit, staring at his team.
Some of team thought it was a good idea while some didn't think as much but would go along with it. M'gann instantly smiles at hearing this." It's gonna be like camping right? I've always wanted to go camping! Eat s'mores, tell scary stories, stare at the stars. I'm gonna get to packing!" M'gann said with a smile as she floated away to get ready.
Aizen was about to tell her that this is gonna be a training session not a camping trip, but she was already gone before he could say a word. He sighs a bit and then turns to the others." Gather supplies and anything else you might need. We leave in two hours." Said Aizen as he walked away, leaving the group behind.
Connor smiles a tad as he looked at the others." I got a feeling this training session might change to something else real soon." He said as left to go pack some food and other stuff. Well that and to also let his parents know where he will be for the next two days.
"Well this should be good for us all, especially beach boy." Said Artemis with a small smirk as she walked away to pack her arrows. The wilderness will be the perfect place to train and hone one's survival skills.
Wally was about to say something back to her, but couldn't come up with anything clever so he keeps his mouth shut." Well my weekend plans are now down the drain." He said as he speeds off to go and pack and make a call to his folks.
Robin and Kaldur were the only ones left, they both looked at one and other." Do you think this is gonna work and get the team to get along?" Robin asked, having little confidence in this whole idea.
Kaldur sighs a bit. He had no clue if this will work or not." I have no idea. But I hope it does, but it may not as long as the others are set on following our leaders ways of dealing with criminals." Said Kaldur as he walked away to prepare for the training.
Robin left to pack and to pack a couple of electronics for this little trip. Seems like this experience might end up to be a good thing, or a terrible one.
While everyone was packing for the trip, Aizen was in his room about to pack but before he went to start, he was thinking about what M'gann had said about the training session being like camping. He hasn't gone camping for so long and the last time he did that...his mom was still alive. As he was lost in thought with the past, he didn't hear his door open.
The one at the door was M'gann. She came to let Aizen know that she was all done packing and ready to go, but she noticed that he wasn't moving, just starting at a wall." Uh, Aizen, are you alright?" She asked.
Hearing her voice broke Aizen small trance and caused him to turn and face her." I'm...fine." He said, clearly not fine and this was not okay with M'gann.
M'gann walked over to him and and then puts a hand on his shoulder." Aizen...what's wrong? You can tell me anything." She said, assuring him that he can share anything with her.
M'gann was the first to learn of Aizens past other than the league and the first to also accept him for who he is and what he does. He trusted her more that anyone, plus there was also a certain feeling when with her that made him trust her." When you mentioned camping, it brought back a memory of me and my mom. It was the last time we went before...he ended her..." Just the thought of his mother's death made him angry.
M'gann could feel Aizen start to heat up a bit as he got angry. She felt sorry for him, having lost his mother at a young age. She wanted him to feel less angry, so she decided to ask some questions to hopefully ease him a bit away from rage." Can you tell me about her? I'd like to know more about her." She said with a smile.
Aizen just stares at her a bit before nodding a bit and began to tell M'gann about his deceased mother since they had time to spare." She was kind to everyone, helped out people in need. She was also an incredible singer and guitarist. Her voice was like an Angel. She would sing to me whenever I felt sad or got hurt." Aizen said as he smiles a tad at the memories. Those were probably the happiest moments of his life, him and his mom being a family.
M'gann smiles at this, seeing Aizen smile made her happy." She sounded like a great mom." M'gann said, comforting him a bit.
Aizen nodded a bit." She was, she even taught me everything she knew before..."his smile started to fade and return to a neutral like state. Seems like reminiscing of good memories are over.
M'gann wanted to try to get him to smile again, so when she learned that his mom taught him to sing and play guitar, she decided to walk over to the guitar she spotted." Do you think you can play something for us all while camping?" She asked as she grabs it and then holds it out to him.
Aizen was silent for a bit as he grabs ahold of his guitar and stares at it for a while before looking at her." Maybe." He said as he puts the guitar in a case and then brings it over to his bed as he then started to pack some things for the training session.
M'gann smiles and then quickly hugs him." I can't wait!" She said, blushing a tad as she eventually stops and then hovered away to go and wait at the bio ship.
Aizen watched her leave, afterwards he went back to pack, as he did, he spotted Dex-Starr waking up from his sleep." Dex, make sure no one comes into my room and make sure nothing suspicious goes on while we are all gone." Aizen said as he finished packing the last thing he needed to pack.
Dex-Starr nods a bit as he got up and stretched a bit...only to lay back down and go to sleep.
Turns out two hours weren't even needed and everyone was done packing, everyone noticed that Wally had more luggage then anyone there. Wally of course noticed the staring." What? I need a lot of food okay." He said.
"I feel sorry for your folks food bill." Artemis joked and that got almost everyone laughing a bit, even Wally had to admit that was kinda funny, since it was also a bit true. It's expensive to keep a speedster fed, well normal ones at least.
Aizen looked over at the bio ship and then at M'gann." All set?" He asked, wanting to make sure everything is good and ready so they all can get going to the location so the training and trust exercises can begin.
M'gann gives him a nod, she already made sure everything was all ready with the bio ship." She's ready for us."
"Good, now let's get going." Aizen and everyone else went to the ship with there bags and extra stuff. Once everyone was on board, the bay doors would open up and the bio ship would take off into the sky and flown in a certain direction.
After some time, the team eventually spotted some mountains, and spotted a forest on the mountains as well." Why did you pick this place?" Asked Conner as he stares at the area through the ships window.
Aizen is silent for a bit before he looked over at team." The mountain is supposedly cursed, or that is what people seem to believe after a few people vanished. I'm not one to believe superstitions so easily, but at least no one will be there." He explained a bit. Since it's scary to most people, the team won't be bothered.
Most of the team were a bit freaked out by this information, well only Wally." Wait, you expect us to stay where people have been rumored to disappear?! That's crazy!" Said Wally. He has seen many horror movies to know that something bad always happens when people stay in a spooky area.
Robin smirked a bit, he wasn't scared of just rumors." Aw what the matter Walls, don't tell me your scared of a rumor. Your a supporter after all." Most of the team laugh and chuckle a tad.
Wally frowns a bit and crosses his arms." Whatever! But if things go south and someone disappears, I get to tell you all I told you so." Wally said. He seems very confident that something from a horror movie is gonna happen to them all.
Later...
The ship soon landed in a clearing near a cabin, there was a sign on the door of the cabin. Once everyone made there way off the ship, the ship suddenly started to take off, which freaked out Wally a tad." Where's the ship going?" Asked Wally.
Aizen continued towards the cabin, along with the others." The ship will return at once the weekend is over." Aizen stated as he grabs the sign and tears it off the door and leaves it on a table as he opens the door and then heads inside, along with the others. That sign was left there by the locals before they all left the area.
Wally groans a bit and speeds his way through the cabin door with his stuff, not noticing the sign says 'beware of the beasts who walk in human flesh'. He and the others were unaware that they were being watched...
The team was starting to get unpacked and get there rooms set up a bit. Connor noticed that the place was rather dusty and full of cobwebs." How long has it been since someone cleaned this place up?" He asked as he blows some dust off a table, making a rather large dust cloud.
Robin was unlucky and got hit by it and started to cough a bit." Man this place needs more cleaning than the batcave does." He said as he goes to get some water to wash away the bad taste in his mouth.
M'gann walked around a tad, staring at the dust for awhile till having an idea." I got an idea, why don't we all clean this place up together for a team training exercise?!" She suggested with a smile.
Everyone had different opinions on that, some thought it was a good idea, while some didn't wanna do it all...Wally." Yeah no offense but I don't wanna spend time cleaning when I could be improving my skills." Said Wally.
When he said that, Aizen knew what that he had to make the team do this." We will clean this cabin together. Wally, you will be sweeping." Said Aizen, making Wally groan as he speeds off to find a Broom. After Wally was gone, Aizen gave the rest of the team tasks to help with cleaning up the place.
Kaldur was tasked with using water to help clean the floors while Wally will mop and sweep, Robin and Artemis will dust off tables and such, M'gann will use her telekinesis to life stuff off the ground and move it around, and Aizen and Conner will collect trash and such and throw it away. After that whole cleaning montage, the cabin looked much nicer." Now that we have dealt with that, we will begin training in a hour, Kaldur, You will be in charge of training Wally and Robin since I will have to train the others different." Aizen explained to Kaldur. It would make sense to have fish boy be in charge of that since he is the most mature out of the three.
Kaldur nods a bit." I make sure they get sufficient training." He said as he walked away to go and prepare for the training he will be in charge off.
Everyone else went there own ways and to find there rooms for the weekend. Eventually though, everyone was able to find a good room for them and they all had spent there time getting ready.
As this happened, Aizen was already outside and ready. He had used a bit of his speed to hurry the process of getting everything all set in his room and had also used his speed to set up the training dummy's for both groups. Luckily though he didn't have to wait long. Everyone got outside call ready to go with today's training." Alight, first, Kaldur, you and your group will head south from here, in a clearing there will be your training dummy's."
Kaldur nods as he then motions for Robin and Wally to follow. Once the trio were gone, that just left the remaining members of the team." I will be training you all to hone your skills to be more lethal, but I will also explain a few things about when planning or going through with killing someone, understand?" He asked them.
Each of them nods, the three of them were ready to make a difference and keep people safe while also getting rid of scum who don't deserve anything but death. So the separate groups would train in different ways and this training for both sides went on for quite awhile.
Nearing the end of the training, M'gann was thinking about how to what they all could do together as a team for some trust exercises, but soon and idea came to her. She floated over to Aizen who was talking with Connor." And that's why you should focus as much precision and strength into each punch when dealing with strong and dur- oh,M'gann? Is there something you need?" He asked, noticing her presence.
Connor decided to go and practice some more and to leave the two of them to have a talk with one and other. M'gann smiles a bit as she got close to him and started to whisper in Aizens ear a bit while Simple stood there and nodded. Once she was down she back away a bit." I think it would be great! Plus we might have the chance to do it once." She said with a smile.
Aizen nodded a bit. He liked her idea, it would force the team to be together and to talk." I will make sure we do your plan, you have my word." He said.
She smiles and then quickly hugs him." Thanks! I can't wait!" She said as she then lets go and hovers away while blushing a tad, not looking back, but if she had then she would have saw the slight blush on Aizens face.
Soon though, Aizen would call it and have the team's training for the day to be over. The two groups would eventually meet up back to the cabin and before anyone could go there separate ways, Aizen stops them." Later when the moon is up and the night has arrived, we will all go outside and make a fire to enjoy together." Aizen said it in a way that it was like a order but also a plan.
This sounded nice to the whole team, especially to Wally since that also means two things. Lots of yummy and gooey S'mores, and scary stories." I'll get the bare essentials ready." He said with a grin as he speeds into the cabin to get the stuff for s'mores ready.
Artemis rolled her eyes at this a bit and then turned to M'gann." Wanna help me get some fire wood?" She asked as she was about to head off into the woods.
M'gann nods a bit with a small smile." Sure. Plus it'll be nice to explore the area." So the only females members of the team left to go into the woods to collect some fire wood.
But, something or better yet, something's were watching the girls leave the others and then left very quickly, however though, whatever manner of creature that was watching the team, it's presences seemed to have gained the attention of someone on the team...
In the woods, all by themselves, the two heroines were collecting wood together while talking to one and other about stuff, specifically about M'gann plans to confess her feelings to Aizen." I think you should be upfront with him and tell him." Artemis said with a smile.
M'gann blushes a tad at the idea of just being upfront with him about, but it's better than her other idea she had in mind which involved stuff she seen on tv." You know what, your right! Later tonight will be when I confess to him!" She said with a determined smile.
The two would continue to collect wood and chat, unaware of the dangerous creatures keeping an eye on them...
Meanwhile with the boys, no not those boys...
The guys were setting up the fire pit so the camp fire can be safely contained, well except Wally at first because he was busy getting supplies for tonight, though he was able to join the group quickly. As they worked on getting the pit ready, Robin decided to speak up about something he has noticed for a while, and to hopefully tease and get a rise out of Aizen." Hey Aizen, why do you treat M'gann differently then most of us?" He asked with a small grin.
This caused all the guys to stop what they were and for both Connor and Kaldur to look at Aizen who remains neutral faced.
"Robin, I do not think it is a good idea to ask such personal qu-" Kaldur was interrupted by Aizen who had and answer that was very unexpected to be heard, especially from a Red Lantern.
"I have grown feelings for her, romantic feelings." Aizen stated bluntly and with zero hesitation, this of course shocked them all a bit.
"What?! But don't you guys only feel rage?" Asked Wally as he sets down the supplies onto a chair. He did have point though, Red Lanterns usually are only able to feel and experience rage.
The others seemed to have relaxed a bit, not being surprised anymore. Aizen would nod a bit as he placed the last stone in place." Yes, but with training and meditation, a red lantern can feel and express some emotions like love." He explained a bit as he then goes to sit down in one of the multiple chairs there.
Connor decided to ask Aizen a question as he sat down as well." Are you gonna tell M'gann how you feel? Or are you gonna push her away?" He was curious since he has never been in love and kinda figured that it might be a bit problematic for Red and M'gann since the whole fire weakness thing.
Aizen is silent for a bit, not saying a word for awhile till eventually nodded." I intend to tell her later tonight. Away from everyone, though perhaps I shouldn't,she may not feel the same." He said, unsure if he should go though with what he has planned.
Everyone is silent for a bit before Kaldur speaks up." I believe you should do it. I believe she shares the same feelings as you, plus, finding love as a red lantern must be tough." He said with a small smile. He may not like the way Aizen does things with some criminals, however though, he is not one to ruin chances of love or happiness to anyone, especially to his teammates and friends.
Before Aizen could say anything, the girls arrived with the fire wood, getting them all to stop talking and act naturally." Uh, I'm not sure that's gonna keep the fire going for more than a few minutes." Said Wally, noticing that the two girls didn't seem to bring back much wood.
He is immediately proven wrong when M'gann brought out a bunch of wood with her telekinesis. This gets a few laughs from everyone while wally looked like a idiot." Next time I'll wait before opening my mouth." He said as speeds to his chair.
A bit Later...
It was night time and with the fire pit made and ready, it was time to enjoy the night. After adding some fire wood to the pit, now all that was left to do was light it, unfortunately though, no one had a lighter." So no one thought to pack a lig-"Wally was interrupted by Aizen breathing fire on the wood, catching it on fire.
Everyone just stared at him a bit, and he stared right back." Red lanterns are able to create fire." Aizen reminded them all as he sits down on one of the couple of chairs that had been placed around the camp fire.
Soon enough, everyone is sitting in chairs, enjoying themselves and enjoying the fire, well not M'gann, she had to sit a bit away from the fire since the whole Fire weakness thing." This is nice, all my earth friends enjoying themselves and having fun." She said with a smile.
Robin grins a tad, oh the fun has not even begun." Sorry to burst your bubble M'gann, the hasn't started yet. But why don't we start it off with a scary story?" He suggested to the group.
Mostly everyone thought this was a good idea, but the question was, who would start off the scary story. After while, Aizen decided to start things off with a horror story of his own, sorta." Prepare to be scared." He said.
Aizens story was about a young girl in highschool who was bullied by the other girls constantly, and was pranked in the most cruelest of ways and no one believed her nor came to help her. One day, things went to far and it would cost the poor soul her life. It was prom night and the bullies rigged the votes so the girl would become prom queen. For the first time in her life, the girl was happy and full of joy, but in that exact moment it came, it went away just as quick. A bucket full of animal blood fell right on the girl, shocking her to her core and causing the girl to freeze up. Everyone ended up laughing at the poor girl, but there laughter would soon end be replaced with screams for what was about to happen to the girl. The bully who had dropped the bucket of blood, accidentally bumped into a large mirror that was placed up where they were for storage, the mirror landed right on the girls head and face, many pieces of the glass was lodged deep into her. She stood there for a moment, before falling, dying right there in front of everyone. This cause everyone to scream and or freak out. That day was a dark day and no one found out who did it for quite some time, but three years later, many had died at someone's house with glass in there faces and eyes gouged out. How did this happen? Well the people who were brutally killed were the same ones who had bullied that poor girl. They all thought it would be fun to start a rumor that if you say the dead girls name in a mirror three times, she will appear, well it turns out it didn't became so fun when she came back from beyond the grave, blowing red with blood and glass being apart of her and killed them all out of revenge. She left behind her name, carved it onto each her now dead old tormentors to let everyone know her name." And what she wrote out was her new name, Bloody Mary." Said Aizen, finishing his story and then takes a bite out of his s'more.
Everyone was quiet and wide eyed. That story was very dark and is scared each of them very much. M'gann laughed a bit, enjoying the thrill of being scared by the story." I don't think anyone of us will be able to top that." M'gann said as she ate her s'more with a smile on her face.
The others agreed with her." Yeah I think we are officially done with scary stories after that." Said Wally as he was internally hoping that Aizens story ain't real.
Without anymore scary stories, that left very little to do for this little relaxation by the camp fire, well, there was one thing that could be done." So what now?" Asked Robin as he leans back in his chair.
M'gann had an idea, one that she hopes Aizen will do." I got and idea. How about some music and a song?" She suggested as she looked over at Aizen, indicating that she thinks he should perform for the team.
"Well sorry to say this but none of us brought a radio." Said Wally, not understanding what she meant when she suggested music and a song.
Without saying a word, Aizen gets up and heads back into the cabin, this gets everyone a bit confused, except M'gann who was getting excited, she can't wait. The others noticed, seems like she is aware of what is about to happen." Can you shed some light on what's about to happen M'gann?" Asked Kaldur.
Instead of answering, she just smiles and awaits for Aizens return. Soon though, Aizen returns with a guitar in hand, when he makes it back to his seat, he looked at everyone who is staring at him weirdly with confused and shocked looks." What?" He asked.
"Forgive us, we just didn't expect to learn that you play an instrument." Said Kaldur, realizing that he and the others don't know much about there leader outside of the hero life.
The others agreed, but not Wally." This has to be a joke. There's no way you know how to play. Much less sing. I'd bet cash on it." Said Wally, thinking that this is some sort of joke.
Artemis grins a bit." Oh really? How much?" Artemis asked. She is about to get some free money and she loves it.
They end up betting 30 bucks but Aizen payed no mind to the bet more cared about it. he looked over at the team playing a few simple notes on his guitar, getting his fingers ready." Any requests?" He asked, awaiting for someone to make a song request.
Before anyone could make a suggestion, M'gann spoke up." Actually, why don't you sing us something you know?" She asked, wanting to hear something he knows and or prefers to sing.
No one argued with her, they all also wanted to hear what he would prefer to play. He thought for a moment before starting to play a few bites before opening his mouth to sing."Never mind the darkness...Never mind the storm...Never mind the blood red moon." Aizen sang out. He has not played this song for quite some time.
His voiced sounded amazing, soft, and hypnotic like. The others were very shocked by how well he sang, Wally feeling very wrong and handed over the money with a very unhappy face. M'gann though sighs happily as she listens to him sing.
"The night will be over soon...The night will be over soon...Brush away the sorrow...Brush away the tears
...Sing away your heavy heart." As Aizen sang, he remembered all the times he sang and played with his mom. Those were the only wonderful times of his life, well his life before becoming a Red lantern.

The sun will be rising soon...The sun will be rising soon...The sun will be rising soon..."Once Aizen was finished, Everyone was silent for bit, till M'gann started Clapping and then soon everyone else was clapping.
"That was great. Is there any way to get an encore?" Asked Connor with a smile. He really enjoyed the song, though he can tell that a very specific someone enjoyed it more the then rest of the team.
Aizen shook his head as he gets up." Sorry to disappoint but I'm done with singing for today." He said as heads back inside the cabin.
"Well this was nice, but I think it's about time to hit the hay." Said Robin as he got up. The others started to agree with them as well, well except M'gann who didn't want to go to sleep just yet, not till she has told Aizen her feelings, but lucky for her, Luck is on her side.
Aizen comes right back out just as everyone was heading towards the Cabin and as Kaldur was putting out the fire." I am going out for a walk, I will be back shortly...probably." He said, but just before he went any further, he looked over at M'gann." M'gann...would you like to join me?" He asked.
M'gann immediately went over to him." Yes! I uh mean sure, I'd love to." She said, recollecting herself as to not show how excited she is.
As the two left into the forest for a nice stroll and the others went to sleep, a few strange skinny and long limbed creatures followed the two very quickly and quietly but as this happened, a familiar red light that was last seen from space was now coming down towards earth's atmosphere and appears to be heading right towards the location of Aizen...
Meanwhile in the woods, The two were taking for a stroll through the woods, both quite, not knowing what to say to the other and not realizing how dense they both are. Soon though, Aizen stopped, and of course this caused M'gann to stop as well." Aizen? Is something wrong?" She asked.
Aizen is silent for a before looking at her right in her beautiful eyes." M'gann, I have romantic feelings towards you." He said bluntly and being straight forward.
M'gann of course was shocked by this a bit. She wasn't expecting this to happen or to learn that he feels the same way."Really?" M'gann asked as she started to get closer.
Aizen nodded a bit." Yes, and I understand if you don't feel the sa-" Aizen didn't get to finish because M'gann jumped up a bit suddenly, wrapping her arms around as his neck as she presses her lips against his, kissing him. He was shocked by this, he didn't think she would feel the same. Aizen wraps his arms around her waist, holding her close.
After a few seconds of the two making out, the two depart there lips and stare at one and others eyes." I am so happy you feel the same Aizen...but what does this make us?" M'gann asked, wanting to know what to call this.
Aizen stares at her a tad, thinking what to say." What do you think this makes us?" Aizen asked as he keeps her close, looking into her eyes.
M'gann smiled as she keeps her arms around his neck." Definitely Boyfriend and Girlfriend." She said with much confidence and excitement.
Aizen slightly smiles." Then that is what we are and I like that very much." He said. Aizen hasn't felt love in a long time and M'gann has been able to rekindle that fire in his rage filled heart.
As the two remain there and having proclaimed their love for each other, a red object with a red glow to it was coming right down towards the newly couple. Aizen saw this and he quickly uses his ring and captured and stopped whatever was coming right at them. He had the object from space in a small bubble but then dropped it onto the ground. It was dark so it was making it hard to tell what the object was.
M'gann was shocked and surprised by this and was wondering what was it that Aizen had caught. She went to have a closer look, but Aizen stopped her." Wait, let me shine some light and see what it is." Aizen said as he got closer to the object, making a bright light to see what it was, but as he did, he noticed that object appeared to look like a... Red beetle? A scarab to be more exact. For some reason it looks familiar to him.
M'gann looked over his shoulder and stared at the beetle looking object." What is that? It looks like an earth bug kinda." She said.
Aizen picked the scarab and inspected it...but then it started moving very quickly, getting out of Aizens grip and crawling all the way though his jacket sleeve, going straight to his back. As this happened, Aizen was trying to get it off, M'gann tried to help by looking for it on his body." Wait, I think it's on your ba-" it was too late.
Aizen felt a sharp pain on his back." Fuck! I think it just took a bite out of m-" he stops when he feels himself changing, Armor started to surround his body, covering him in red and black armor. As this spreads to his hand, his ring seems to merge and meld with the armor and changing the armor a bit, specifically the chest. A red lantern symbol now on it. Soon the process was complete and Aizen was completely covered in a beetle like armor. His eyes glowed red as he stares at his hands and inspects himself a bit.
