Aizen at first thought that someone was out here with them, but then after a second or two, Aizen realized that the deep voice that he heard was the scarab, the thing attached to his back, more specifically, his spine. Aizen would be furious that the scarab had forced itself onto his back and made him its host because then that would mean the reach would be able to control him and all lanterns know of the reach, but that anger never came because the scarab said that it was strong enough to break free form the reaches control, which is good for him." Scarab, why have you come here? And why me for a host?" Aizen asked the scarab, wanting to know as much as he can.

"This scarab...no, I was sent here to this planet by the reach specifically to try and control a powerful host to prepare the world for their arrival. But no longer since I have merged with host Aizen Myoos power ring of rage. It has given me the ability to resist control and block them." The Scarab explained. It seems like the reach won't be able to control ether of them now, that was good.

While they talked, M'gann was just confused since she couldn't hear the scarab, even when she tried to read Aizens thoughts." Aizen, are you talking to that thing on your back?" She asked as she walked behind him to get a better look at it.

Aizen lets her since there was no harm in it." Yes and It's called a Scarab. The Scarab was created by some aliens called the reach who are mortal enemies to almost all lanterns. There beetle tech and the power rings are on equals terms when it comes to power and endless possibilities." Aizen explained to her as he stares at his hands, wondering how long it will take for him to get used to this.

As M'gann inspected the scarab, the scarab scanned the area and detected a few signatures that appeared somewhat human, but were also not and were very freakishly skinny and had long limbs and were moving around on all fours."Aizen myoo, i have picked up several humanoid figures surrounding us, more coming, but they appear differently from normal humanoid figures. I highly suggest that we terminate these anomalies." Said the Scarab.

Aizen looked around the area using scanners thanks to the scarab, now seeing movements belonging to the supposed humanoid like creatures. There was six and more were showing up." M'gann, we're being surrounded by some sort of creatures and they appear to be quite fast. I need you to go and warn the others just in case more are in these mountains. I will stay here and make sure you aren't followed, I will join you shortly." Aizen said as he remains still, but ready to strike whenever.

M'gann didn't want to leave her leader and now boyfriend behind, but she knew he could handle anything." Just be careful." She said as she kissed him on the cheek before becoming invisible and then flies away.

The creatures started to move towards Aizen, the moon light shining on them, revealing their hideous bodies and face. They looked like pale naked humans but with no genitals and were very skinny and had long limbs. And the teeth they had, very sharp. One of them screeched at Aizen and then started to run at him on all fours.

Aizen just stared at the creature and remains still, but when it got close enough, His hand turns into a beetle style blade with the tip of it glowing red, he then stabs right into the head of the demon looking creature, killing it instantly. Aizen stares at the blade for a bit after removing it from the creature's head." Just like making constructs." He said right before turning his attention to the many other creatures that are left and starting to approach him.

Some looked a tad different from the others, more different and disfigured in a way that was way to unnatural.

Aizen growls a bit as he then transforms his arms into blaster and started firing at the creature's, and this caused the creature's to charge at Aizen.

While Aizen was taking care of the creature's, M'gann was quick as she was flying back to the cabin. She soon landed by the cabin door and runs in, thankfully everyone was there and they looked to be waiting on something." Guys! We got trouble so Gear up! Leaders orders!" She said.

Everyone just stood around a bit but then quickly get ready for whatever trouble there is. Once everyone is ready, Artemis decided to ask something that's on her mind."What are we dealing with?" She asked.

Before M'gann could say anything else, a loud explosion happened, the whole team heard it and it made M'gann worried." Aizen!" She quickly flys off to go to him and see what happened, the others are not to far behind.

M'gann soon arrived back at the spot she last left Aizen and was a bit shocked by what she was. There were many dead bodies of the creatures and standing up and alive was Aizen, his arms turning back to normal and then the armor around his head and face shifted away so his face can be seen. Aizen then spotted M'gann." The threats have been terminated, but there could be more. Did you make it back to the others unharmed?" He asked as he started to walk towards her.

M'gann immediately floated over to him and then hugs him tightly." Yeah I'm alright and I'm happy that you're alright!" M'gann said as she then looks him in his eyes before leaning in and kisses him.

Aizen returns the kiss as he holds her close, neither are aware that the team was watching them kiss. Soon enough, the scarab tells Aizen that they are being watched and so he stops and turns and looks at the group, glaring at them a bit." How long have you been standing there?"

Connor chuckles a bit as he walked over." Long enough to see that you two finally are together, congrats by the way." Connor was glad that the two finally got together.

"What's with the new suit? And why does it kinda look like a bug?" Asked Artemis as she walked around him a bit, staring at the scarab.

"I will explain that later. But right now, we must focus on dealing with the creatures." Said Aizen, wanting to put off talking when they all could be dealing with trouble.

While some of the others were talking about the creatures and what they are and what they should do to deal with them, Robin was investigating and examined one of the dead creatures, trying to see what it is or was. He scanned it and it showed signs of unknown dna mixed with a bit of human, but it was somehow corrupted." Guys, these things were once human I think. But somehow, they have been turned into these things. And I think it's permanent." He said, noticing a few things that might make that theory right.

Aqualad walks over and stared at one of the creatures." Something dark has happened to this land, we must find out what." He said. This could be dangerous to anyone who comes to these lands.

Everyone thought that was a good idea and the right thing to do, but not Wally." Dude are you serious? This is basic horror movie rule number one! Don't investigate at night!"

Everyone just kinda ignored him, plus they are superheroes, they can deal with stuff like this." We should investigate the mountains, search for any caves or nesting grounds. We have no idea how many are left." Said Aizen as he looked at a direction where most of the creatures he faced came from.

So the team heads out into the woods, farther and farther away from the cabin, searching for any places that might be a potential place where the creatures live, or where they used to live since they all might be dead now.

Wally spotted a cave but no one else did. Wally was really struggling to make a choice on whether or not to say he found something or to shut up so they all can leave soon. But his hero since took over sadly." Guys, theres a cave over there, maybe we should check it out?" He suggested rather reluctantly.

"Nice catch Wally." Said Robin as he and the other started to head towards it.

As they all gotten closer and closer to the entrance of the rather large cave, the sound of screeching and other noises could be heard from deep within.

Aizen motions for everyone to be silent as he lead them into the cave the appeared to be filled with a few lanterns to light the place up a bit. As the team went deeper into the cave, the Scarab scanned for life signals."Aizen Myoo, I am picking of six signatures that are identical to the creatures, but there is a seventh one that appears to be different but similar. Recondition against our foes, complete and total termination." Said the scarab, wanting to keep its host notified.

Aizen nodded a bit before turning to his team." Be ready, there are seven enemies further into the cave. One might potentially be the one behind these creatures."

Wally was confused, how did Aizen know this stuff."Wait, how do you know? You got x-ray vision now or something?" Asked Wally, wanting to know how the hell Aizen knew.

"The scarab." Aizen simply said as he keeps going further into the cave. The team don't bother to question it, not right now anyway. Soon enough, the team saw a light and the sounds of screeching grew louder and then a voice was heard.

"Soon my children, soon you and the others shall be free to roam and feast on all those pathetic flesh bags." Said a distorted feminine voice but the voice was unfamiliar voice so the team is gonna be dealing with something or more specific, someone they or the league have never fought.

The team peak around a corner and spotted a lair of sorts and saw five of those creatures strapped to tables, restrained while a much smaller one was in a cage and standing right in front of the cage was a woman who appeared to have grey skin and looked filthy. She also looked like she was...smiling very creepily.

"Woah, who's the ugly hag?" Asked Wally as he started to move away from the spot, almost all the way out in the open. Luckily Artemis grabs him and pulled him

back before the woman could see him.

She and some of the others glared at him a bit." Dude! We don't want her to know that we're here!" Robin whispered yelled to Wally.

Once that was done, everyone becomes silent and stares at the woman, watching to see what she does next. The woman walked over to a stand with a large book that appeared to be made of flesh and had sharp long teeth on it. M'gann shivered a bit, just staring at it is sending shivers down her back."What kind of book is that?" She asked.

Aizen stares at it a bit, he then mentally tells the scarab scan the book to see what it is or if there's any knowledge of it. The scarab does so and scans it. After a few seconds, the Scarabs scan is complete." The book appears to be made of human flesh and contains some sort of energy signature within in it." Said the Scarab once its scan was finished.

The woman then opened the book and started to flip through the blood written pages till she finally found the one she needed. And then the chanting began and her eyes go red." Conda..." her voice sounded demonic.

The area shook a bit as her demonic chat continued. The other noticed that some rocks from the ceiling of the cave was coming down." I don't know what she's doing but I'm stopping her!" Said Kid flash as he speeds on over to the woman and shoved her hard and into a wall, stopping the chanting and the shaking.

The woman lands face first on the ground and remains very still while the other get out from cover, getting in a battle stance. Aizen stares at the woman as his arm turns into a blaster and then aims it at her." Robin, secure the book and then take it back to the cabin. And bring Artemis,Wally, and Kaldur. The rest of us will deal with the rest of the creatures here and deal with her." Said Aizen as he started to get closer to the woman.

Robin nodded a bit and then runs over to grab the book while the others keep and eye on the woman and the creatures. As he was about to, the woman started to laugh and the sound of bones cracking could be heard. Everyone stared at the woman as her body made more disturbing and disgusting noises as her body started to change, limps getting longer and bigger, she then looked at the young hero's as her flesh started started to tear and fall of her body and her eyes bled as they go white." Naughty children must be punished!" Her voice sounded demonic. Soon her transformation was complete and she was bigger than the teens and looked more monstrous compared to the other creatures

Wally speeds over and quickly snatched the book and then speeds out of the cave,some of the others started running after him." Good luck with that thing guys!" Said Wally just as he made it out of the cave with some of the others.

Aizen was about to start blasting at the disfigured monster lady but then the scarab spotted the other creatures that were once locked down break free." Connor, M'gann. Deal with them and I will deal with her." Said Aizen as he changed both his hands into maces while he created two blaster constructs, one on each shoulder and started firing at the creature.

She screeched as she takes a few hits before flees and goes deeper into the cave, Aizen of course goes after her while M'gann and Connor are left to deal with the other monsters." Let's see if that training paid off." Said Connor right before yelling and charged at one of the 6 who charge right at him. Connor aims right for the head and makes sure to put a lot of strength into his punch and ended up taking its whole head off. Connor grins a bit at the results and how good it felt to not hold back as much, but this distracted him and was almost attacked from

Behind by one of the other creatures.

But luckily for him, M'gann used her powers to stop it in mid air and then focused hard and tore the creature apart, its limps scattered from its body." I got your back Connor." She said.

He nodded at her and then the two fought off the rest of the creatures, making quick work of them. Just as they were about to go and check on Aizen, they spotted him coming back,unharmed and covered in some blood." Before I ended her, I found out that these things were indeed human once but were killed before becoming what they are now. And it was all thanks to that books help." Explains Aizen as he walked over to them.

Connor stared at the mess of guts and corpses in the cave." What do we do now? I mean got the book and stopped her from making more of those thing but what's next?"

"I think we should notify the league about this, but let's make sure the others are alright and made it back to the cabin." Suggests M'gann and her plan was a good one.

Aizen nodded a bit as he then sprouted beetle wings and then takes flight out of the cave. M'gann flys after him while Connor takes leaps. Eventually they would get to the cabin and spotted the others waiting for them. Kaldur walked over to them." We encountered none of the creatures on our way here and have the book secured."

Aizen nodded a bit, that was good. He then looked at M'gann." Can you contact the ship? Our trip is over and the league must know about what has happened here." He said as the scarab armor started to go away and back into the scarab.

M'gann nodded as she concentrated on contacting the bio ship, should be easy since She just had the ship go invisible and remain at a nearby spot.

While she did that Robin walked over with the book in hand." What about this? Should we hand it over to the league or destroy it here and now?" He asked.

Artemis decided to speak up, putting in her voice to this decision."That book is pure evil. I skimmed through its pages while we waited for you guys to get back and I was horrified by what I saw." She said as she shivered a bit at remembering the disturbing images she saw.

Aizen listened to his team's words but had already made up his mind on what he would do when he saw that book again. Aizen grabs the book from Robin and then tosses into the air and then fires a red construct ball of energy at the book, disintegrating it completely and leaving no trace of it.

"Well that takes care of that. Now can we pack up and go home?" Asked Wally, having had enough of this real life horror movie experience today.

Later...

League members showed up to the cabin and helped deal with clean up all the corpses while some of the major ones talked with the team. Those being Green lantern( Hal Jordan), Batman, Canary, and Zatara who heard that all the death and chaos happened because of a book and after seeing a image of the book thanks to robins tech, he spoke up." You were right to destroy that book young ones. That book was one of three of the ancient necronomicons on earth. But now only two remain." Said Zatara. Those books are pure evil and should have been destroyed immediately.

Batman stared at one of the bodies before looking at Zatara." Any leads to where the other two might be?" He asked. It will be on one of the leagues top priority lists to find the remaining two books.

Zatara shook his head." Sadly no, but I shall enlist the help of other magical beings for their search." He said right before walking away and then vanishing.

Batman and carnary then started to talk to the others, asking for more details and if they're doing alright from the experience. Well Batman wanted more details while canary was more worried about their mental health.

While the team talked with Batman and Canary, Aizen and Hal were having a chat about the Scarab."This is a little freaky but also cool. A lantern using the power of the scarab. Never thought I'd see this. And you're sure the Reach's not gonna take it and you over?" Asked Hal as he stared at the scarab for a bit.

Aizen turns around to face him and nodded." I am certain. But if we do become controlled, use everything the league has to take us down immediately, permanently if needed. We will not be forced to harm innocent lives." He stated firmly.

The scarab agreed with Aizen. No one shall ever control them."I agree Aizen Myoo. We will never be a slave to the reach."

Hal sighs a bit but then nodded." Okay, but if there's a chance to save you, we will. Plus not sure your new girlfriend would like that whole permanentlu take down plan." Hal said with a small smirk. He plans to tease him about this for a while, but is unsure if it will work, or if it's a good idea.

Aizen scowled at bit before sighing and then looks at M'gann who is talking to her Uncle, most likely talking about her and Aizens new relationship." You are right. She would not." He said. Aizen then saw M'gann and J'onn walk over to them.

M'gann smiled as she stands next to Aizen and then reached down and grabs Aizens hand, both their fingers lock together before they both look at J'onn." Uncle J'onn, Aizen and I are in a relationship."

Aizen and J'onn have a bit of a staring contest for awhile before J'onn finally speaks." I approve. I know you will keep her safe and happy Aizen." Said J'onn with a smile of approval before walking away to talk with the other leagues.

Hal frowns a bit." I was kinda hoping he would put up the whole you hurt my niece I'll kill you speech." Said Hal as he heads off,no longer needed.

M'gann was full of joy to hear that her uncle supported her and Aizens relationship. Aizen could feel the joy radiating from her. Things are gonna be a bit different around the team with them together but the team won't mind since they all know those two deserve love.
