I kinda lost track from chapter 2 but now we have 307 faves, 340 follows and 59 reviews!

I decided to start bolding Becca or any of the Commanders thoughts/talking as it just fits more with how I do 'mindscape' stuff in other fics.
AN1: I will admit a lot of the problems on the show will be solved just by having Naruto being Heda. Ice Nation has bowed its head to Naruto, Naruto is not afraid of Mount Weather but hasn't destroyed them yet as he doesn't believe in senseless slaughter. Plus Naruto is pretty tech savy on a similar level to Raven as he has Becca with him and he has the mentality to use that knowledge as if it was his own.
I am not actively bashing John Murphy. I agree he has one of the best character arcs in the show but this is season 1 John who quite frankly is rather unlikable.
Sorry I didn't realize I did not update this story at all in 2023….. A lot of these stories of mine get put on the shelf without me even realizing and I know this chapter wont really make up for the long absence. Sadly though I can't promise consistent updates as I have a lot of stories and I only write so much at a time.
To be honest I kinda want to skip to the next interesting part which would be Raven coming down from the Ark and having a radio. Aka the first contact between the Ark and the Ground specifically Naruto. Although the 100 don't know yet that Naruto is the Commander and the leader of the Grounders.
Chapter 4 Grounder and Sky People
Naruto blinked as he remembered his ascension and why he was special in the long line of commanders even more so then the first and second commanders Becca and Callie.
'Maybe Sky people will be more willing to come to the same peace I want for all people. What do you think Becca?' Naruto thought asking the Flame for answers.
'Who knows Naruto? Harper's people were forced to live in space for 97 years so I can only assume they had to enforce every rule possible for population and basic living standards. They might not be willing to share when they come down especially since you are rather young.' Becca remarked although she did have the slightest bite when it came to saying Harpers name as if she was annoyed with the beautiful young woman.
'Ah Becca! Remember I shared my first mental kiss with you after we became bonded as Flame and Commander! If that doesn't show how much I love you then nothing will! Plus you did imply to me I should find happiness in anyways possible right?' Naruto teased as he could feel the Flame heating up in his brain slightly. AN2:
'Hmph! You better pay attention Naruto! Clarke Griffin is talking to you!' Becca chided as she looked down with her face flushed. It appeared she too remembered her first kiss with Naruto inside the mindscape of the Commanders.
"The medicine worked. Jasper will be fine." Clarke announced as she stepped out of the drop ship. "Uh guys?" Clarke asked as she saw the group was surrounding a smirking Naruto and faintly blushing Octavia.
"Hello Clarke. I am glad the medicine worked." Naruto said smiling as he walked up to Clarke raising a hand in greeting.
Clarke blinked before she extended her hand figuring Naruto at least earned her trust for his nothing but helpful actions.
'I don't think my people would have treated one of his if the roles were reversed.' Clarke admitted to herself as she had gotten rid of the delusions of her people being righteous. Not only had Naruto healed Jasper infection he even dressed his wounds and told her exactly what he used to treat him.
Naruto put his hand out to shake Clarke's only to grab her wrist and pull her towards him. Clarke gasped as she stumbled only to be caught with Naruto hand on her slim waist and the other on the back of her hair stroking her long blonde hair.
"Maybe we can find a way for you to pay me back? Only fair seeing you are a doctor and you I saved one of your people's life." Naruto whispered in a husky tone as his face was right next to her ear.
"You…!" Clarke gasped as she was pressed against Naruto's very muscular and very solid body while her softer one seemed to fit perfectly against his as if they two puzzles pieces.
Naruto briefly took a brief smell of Clarke's hair noticing she seemed to smell like very sweet vanilla which he rather enjoyed. They stayed close for a few seconds as Naruto rather enjoyed the cute blush on the beautiful blonde's face.
All the sudden Clarke struggled and managed to free her right hand as she slapped Naruto's face with all her might leaving a red handprint on his left cheek. AN3:
"SLAP!" rang out as the camp grew silent as everyone looked shocked at Clarke's actions.
"Did not expect that to happen." Monty whispered to Wells who looked wide eyed at his best friend who currently hated his guts.
"Damn Princess Clarke has some fire! What I wouldn't be to brave like the blonde grounder!" Finn commented rather impressed.
"Sheesh. Princess has some fire after all." Murphy noted with a smirk rather happy that the blonde grounder was getting something back against him.
Naruto released Clarke as he briefly looked wide eyed as he placed his left hand against his cheek as he felt it throb angrily.
Clarke took several steps back as her face was red from embarrassment and anger. She huffed as she crossed her arms over her chest.
"What was that? Do you just grab girls without their permission? I am not a toy you can play with!" Clarke declared loudly as she glared heatedly at Naruto.
Naruto blinked before he gave her a look of apology as he raised his hands in surrender.
"That was uncalled for by me. I apologize. I shouldn't have done that. I forgot that we are still strangers and just because some girls like a forceful man doesn't mean all girls do." Naruto apologized bowing his head.
However, he partly ruined his apology by winking at Harper who blushed and covered her face but looked rather pleased she was not forgotten. Octavia however had a small frown on her pretty face but she hid it better then Harper.
Clarke looked abit embarrassed for reacting with a slap so she nodded her head uncrossing her arms.
"Well as long as we understand each other I suppose we can let it go." Clarke decided as she tried to not look too affected by Naruto throbbing cheeks which was started to become less red.
Clarke walked past Naruto keeping a safe distance this time but froze when Naruto walked next to her.
"Just a heads up. Some guys like a feisty girl like you. It is an attractive trait to see a woman stand up for themselves even if their body is unintentionally seducing men." Naruto mentioned as Clarke cheeks turned red but she refused to look at him in the eyes.
'Kinda like you Becca.' Naruto added helpfully as Becca closed her eyes but couldn't hide the reddening of her cheeks.
Finn frowned at the display before he felt a big stab of guilt.
'No, I shouldn't care about that. I haven't even told Clarke about Raven. I know she is back on the Ark and everything but she will come down here and we can be together.' Finn admitted to himself he hadn't given up on his girlfriend and it was pretty scummy to lead Clarke on.
Clarke walked past Naruto and stopped when she reached Bellamy who looked partly amused and partly annoyed especially when he sent Naruto a suspicious look who just shrugged.
"So, what do we do now?" Clarke asked the unofficial other leader of the 100 who frowned at her.
"Well since your little group failed to get food for us I guess we need to find a way to hunt." Bellamy noticed in annoyance. He looked away when Monty and Clarke glared at him for indicating that Jasper getting hurt was not important.
"So been meaning to ask you. What is the wristbands? Some kind of Skaikru fashion I don't know about?" Naruto asked amused as he pointed to Clarke's wrist.
Clarke blinked as she looked at her wristband and mentally thought of whether to tell Naruto what it did.
'He seems smart enough but he should be rather primitive living on the ground for the last nearly 100 years. Will he even understand if I explain it to him?' Clarke thought.
Naruto tapped his foot impatiently but his amused smile showed he wasn't that impatient.
"Well? Perhaps its something sexual? Although its on your wrist and from what I heard putting a collar on your neck was the trend our ancestors liked to do each other." Naruto thought out loud with an amused smile.
Most of the girls turned red at Naruto's words and even some of the guys looked rather interested as many of them looked at Clarke glancing at her neck for a moment. Clarke's glare however sent them looking away with whistling innocently. Clarke could tell many of the 100 boys imagined her with a collar on and probably submitting to whatever fetish they wanted from her. Charlotte just looked confused not understanding why anyone would want to wear a collar.
However, Dax was not amused as he growled at Naruto who only raised an eyebrow.
"Yes? Did I say something offensive?" Naruto asked politely.
"Don't say 'out ancestors. Your ancestors were savages while ours were scientists!" Dax growled resentfully.
"Dax!" Clarke warned glaring at him making Dax flinch but refused to apologize.
"I am sorry about him. He's just a jerk. Perhaps our children will learn their lessons correctly." Harper apologized not realizing her slip up.
Most of the men sent Naruto rather jealous looks while Finn had a small smile at the thought of grounder and Arker having children and possibly getting peace as a result.
"Our children? Isn't it abit fast to think about children Harper. Although I won't say its something I am against." Naruto pointed out but he sent a wink at Harper showing he wasn't offended.
Harper blushed and hid her face in her hands.
"Okay I am going to shut up for awhile now." Harper mumbled into her hand as Octavia sighed but put a hand on her shoulder for comfort.
Naruto turned to Dax looking unimpressed.
"Hmmm well your people sent you kids down here on a dropship and I guessing it was to save them some air? So, who really is the savage here?" Naruto asked as he gestured to the sky with a head tilt.
This made most of the 100 frowned at him although several more reasonable people like Clarke, Finn, Wells and Bellamy grudgingly admitted he had a point.
Dax growled as he raised a fist ready to punch Naruto in the face. He stopped however when Naruto looked at him challengingly.
'Do it. Give me a reason to smash your face in defense afterwards. Come on. Free shot!' Naruto expression seemed to say.
Dax looked down at his fist and reluctantly put his fist down as he had a feeling of self preservation it would not end well for him if he threw the first punch.
"Grrr. You aren't worth it Grounder." Dax hissed with his eyes full of hatred as Naruto just shrugged.
"Whatever you say Mr. Sky Guy." Naruto retorted as Dax stepped away awkwardly.
"Well Clarke what are the wristbands for?" Naruto asked politely as Clarke bit her lip before she sighed.
"These wristbands were created by the council back on the Ark to monitor our vital signs. They are supposing to tell the people or rather the council what our current condition is on the Ground. They think its still toxic for us but hopefully seeing us alive will make them realize Earth is livable again." Clarke admitted honestly as she rubbed the wristband with her free hand nervously.
This got ugly looks from some of the group who clearly did not look happy about wearing the wristbands.
"Tch so we are basically the Council's lapdogs again even on the ground thousands of miles away." Atom scoffed with notable anger and resentment.
'Wow these kids really do not like the Council of the Ark. I will keep that in mind.' Naruto remarked to himself drily.
"Oh wow. So, the Council can tell we 'appear to be alive' so helpful. Really showing the trust they have in us Clarke." Finn remarked sarcastically but to Naruto's trained and enhanced eyesight he could see abit of hope and longing in the boy's eyes.
'Hmm perhaps he has someone waiting for him up there and he is hoping she will come down with the rest if the 100 prove its survivable for them?' Naruto mused with Becca humming inside his head.
'Seems like a logical leap. No matter how tough they act they are still children and they probably did not choose to come down here. If I had to guess I would say the Council sent these children most of them who are probably considered criminals to the Council as disposable agents down here. Both as a population control and on the chance to see if the Ground is survivable for the rest. The fact they didn't send any food or resources shows how little regard the Council has for these children.' Becca remarked with a hint of sadness and disappointment in her tone.
'You really are smart and beautiful Becca. Quite the catch that is mine and mine alone.' Naruto complimented with a hint of playful possessiveness.
'Hush you. Your charmer.' Becca chided but her face and tone showed how flustered and pleased she was with Naruto's teasing.
"Maybe not Finn. It won't be easy but I think I can reverse engineer these monitoring wristbands to communicate with the Ark. That way we can talk to them and tell them the Ground is survivable." Monty stated as he had a look of determination.
While some like Clarke looked pleased at the idea, others like Murphy looked annoyed at the idea but interestingly Bellamy looked outfight frightened at the idea but hid it well.
Unseen to everyone else Naruto glanced at the wristband on Clarke's wrist (and not the pretty girl attached to the wristband for once) as his eyes appeared to digitally 'blink' for a moment as he analyzed the device with the help of the Flame and Becca.
'Hmm probably won't work Monty but I don't want to ruin the hope here. It seems like the bracelet lacks any function to reverse engineer to communicate with its source of origin. They would be better off with a radio or something from the Ark itself which would be hardline to communicate with the Ark.' Naruto mused as his eyes returned to blue unseen by the rest of the group.
Clarke was about to congratulate Money Naruto he snapped his fingers.
"Ah that's right. I almost forgot." Naruto commented as he nodded to himself.
"Hmm what's wrong?" Monty asked seemingly much more at ease with the blonde Grounder now that Jasper was going to be okay especially with the medicine provided by Naruto.
Naruto walked past the group towards the forest completely at ease ignoring the glares at his back.
"Should still be here. Luckily I salted it before I dropped it off. The meat should still be in prime condition." Naruto mumbled to himself as he looked around before finding the spot where he placed the dear.
There were several panthers who looked at the deer hungrily seeing the easy meal before they saw Naruto. They growled at him and licked their lips seeing a seemingly easy to kill human.
Naruto eyes narrowed before he crossed his arms.
"Back off. That kill is mine and the sacrifice of this male deer is mine to use." Naruto hissed as the 4 panthers roared at him.
"Back off and step away." Naruto warned with his voice deep and a killer pressure released from his body.
The Panthers went wide eyed and whimpered as their natural predator instincts sensed and felt fear from the bigger threat them. They stepped away before they ran away as Naruto nodded. He stopped his aura and picked up the deer.
"This might be their first meal on the ground. I would like to treat them to some ramen but that would kinda give away that I am not a simple villager or hunter like their believe." Naruto sighed as he walked with the dear over his shoulders.
"Oh well. Probably still better then Panther meat." Naruto joked to himself before he whistled.
The whistle got the attention of the Skaikru young adults.
"Whose hungry? I hunted this one as a sign of good faith before I dragged Jasper to you guys. Don't worry the meat hasn't spoiled or anything." Naruto asked as he sent them a cheerful grin before setting the dear down on the ground beneath him.
Seemingly to show that good will was earned Jasper came out of the tent with a pale face but healthy grin as his wounds were covered in clean bandages and no longer bleeding out.
"Can I have a slice of that?" Jasper joked with an easy grin and peace symbol with his fingers.
"Jasper!" Monty cheered as he ran forward and hugged his best friend tightly with Jasper hugging him back just as hard but with a wince.
"Watch the ribs! They are abit sore!" Jasper complained but with only a mild look of annoyance.
Monty let go but stood right next to his best friend seeming more at ease now that his best friend was no longer in imminent danger and was talking again.
"Jasper was it? I would recommend you take it easy and have Clarke change your bandages once every two days and, in a few days, you should be right as rain." Naruto told Jasper easily with a kind smile.
Jasper turned to Naruto with a look of surprise.
"Uh who's the new guy?" Jasper asked cluelessly not recognizing him from the Drop Ship or the Ark.
"Jasper he is the guy who saved your life…. He is Naruto and he is a Grounder." Monty explained awkwardly as Naruto gave a casual wave seemingly at ease.
Jasper studied him for a moment before a grin appeared as he gave him a hearty handshake making Naruto grin as well.
"So, you are a Grounder? That's cool! I mean you saved my life so you are a friend in my books!" Jasper noted as Naruto nodded as well.
Clarke awkwardly stood to the side as she waved at Jasper who turned his attention to her.
"Yeah, like Naruto said try to take it easy so you don't bleed out and you should be fine…" Clarke admitted as Jasper nodded eagerly.
"Food!" The general majority of the 100 cheered as they ran eagerly towards the deer before Naruto raised a hand.
"Wait. Not yet." Naruto said before his eyes narrowed when he heard a snort.
"Look the Grounder brings us some meat but will probably make Princess sleep with him before he lets us share his hunt." John Murphy mocked.
Several of the guys actually snickered at the comment as they looked at Clarke with lust and only backed away when she sent them death glares. Notably Wells, Monty, Finn, Jasper and even Bellamy didn't snicker and had looks of disgust on their faces.
All the women were glaring at John with open disgust and annoyance with Clarke even gripping her hand angrily.
Naruto had a bright smile as he walked up to John with not a slight hint of fear.
"John Murphy right?" Naruto asked cheerfully with his eyes closed as Murphy smirked.
"Oh, wow the Grounder can parrot my name. Yeah, what is it? Want me to warm up Princess for you?" Murphy mocked as Wells had to be held back by Finn and Bellamy from slugging a fist at Murphy.
"Let me at him!" Wells growled trying to get out of the grip of Finn and Bellamy.
Clarke took several deep breaths even as several guys snickered at Murphy's comments.
Quicker than anyone could react Naruto lifted up John by the throat lifted him up with one hand effortlessly. He held him to the point where his feet were a foot off the ground and were dangling.
"Ghh?!" John coughed in shock as he tried to pry his hand off his throat with both of his. Much to his shock Naruto's grip appeared to be tighter then a vice.
"Listen here John." Naruto warned with a dark tone when he spoke his name. His eyes were open and colder than ice.
"I don't care what you say about me. We don't have to be friends or even like each other. However, I do want our groups to be allies and I personally enjoy Clarke's presence." Naruto declared as he kept Murphy held up with one hand.
Clarke had to keep her face down to prevent anyone from seeing her burning face as she personally liked Naruto defending her honour.
'Ok that was kinda smooth… Hard to not find that an attractive trait.' Clarke admitted with her mental voice flustered and her wanting to fix up her hair slightly.
The girls in the group were awing at Naruto's actions while Harper and Octavia were pouting but had small smiles as well.
"So, I will let you go but you keep your opinions to yourself. Deal?" Naruto asked as he relaxed his gripped slightly.
John looked annoyed but nodded eagerly.
"Good. Now let's get back to how to actually skin and prepare deer meat shall we?" Naruto asked as he released John letting him fall onto his feet.
John coughed for several seconds giving Naruto a look of hatred but shook his head when Dax gestured to Naruto's back.
'Not yet.' John mouthed out holding his sore throat as Dax frowned but nodded.
Naruto walked back to the deer as Harper grinned and sauntered over with a flirty look on her face.
"That was pretty hot Naruto. Would you save me if someone tried to seduce or speak badly about me?" Harper asked with a purr. She also 'innocently' put her head against his arm letting his body rest against her well-developed chest.
Harper seemed to rather enjoy this intimate position as her head rested on his well toned and muscular body and inhaling his unique musk. Meanwhile Naruto had to resist groaning as Harper natural jasmine like scent mixed well with her curvaceous body pressed right against him.
"Well Harper." Naruto replied back with a notable husky tone filled with teasing and affection making Harper nearly squeal in delight.
"I wouldn't be much of a gentleman if I let a beautiful woman like you get insulted, would I?" Naruto teased as he possessively put his hand on her slim waist making her gasp and blush.
'Okay this is getting pretty intimate… and I love it! Suck it Clarke and Octavia! He lies me more!' Harper thought to herself as she rather enjoyed him showing an interest in her body while still showing an interest in her own personality.
Harper slowly got up from Naruto's embrace before she walked away with a sway to her developing hips. When she looked back to see Naruto eyes return upwards showing an impressed look. She sent him a wink and kiss in the air as she returned to her group while ignoring the looks of interest from several members of the 100.
Clarke crossed her arms with a hint of jealously on her face as she glared at Naruto.
"Do you do that with every girl you meet?" Clarke asked coldly as several members of the 100 stepped away from the "Princess" in her angry mood.
Naruto raised an eyebrow before smirking at the interest Octavia was showing to this conversation along with Bellamy disapproval.
"Not every girl is as beautiful as you Clarke. I don't believe women need to be protected as they are just as capable as men. I do feel if you sit back and let people insult people who are your friends then you really no better then scum." Naruto replied with a thoughtful expression.
Octavia and Harper cooed at how sincere and cool he sounded while even Clarke angry expression turned to embarrassment at his comment on her beauty. Monty and Jasper sighed putting their head down.
"So that guy has game, right?" Jasper whispered to his best friend.
Monty glancing over how most of the girls in the 100 were eying Naruto with interest or lust nodded.
"Naruto is oozing game. He could probably get a real-life harem if he wanted to." Monty whispered as Jasper eyes widened in surprise.
'That would be insane to date multiple girls and have them know about the other girls and be okay with it!' Jasper thought with jealously but also with respect.
Murphy was gritting his teeth at his humiliation and the fact that Naruto seemed to using the incident to make him even more popular in their group while his cronies also glared at Naruto out of habit.
"Anyways. This is going to get abit bloody so people who are squeamish should leave." Naruto stated as he went back to the deer.
He seemed to grab a dagger in its sheathe out of his pants and unsheathed it. He twirled it around his hand for a few seconds before bending down to the deer carcass.
"So to start you…." Naruto then started to explain how to butcher and cut up the deer into usable chunks using his single dagger.
"A knife works just as well I just happened to have this dagger handy." Naruto added before he gave them an amused smile. He had just started to skin the deer when he saw a few of Skaikru children hurl which caused a few more kids to hurl.
"Didn't I tell the squeamish to leave? This is the best way to preserve meat after all. You might think its gross but even our ancestors had to butcher animals like this." Naruto pointed out as he seemed uncaring his hands were now soaked in deer blood.
"Yeah, but they had machinery and factories to do this for them!" A girl stated from the back as she looked rather sick to her stomach.
"Well, if you can make a machine that does that from what's available go ahead but until then some of you guys are just going to have to get your hands dirty if you want to eat meat." Naruto replied with the same amused smile and tone.
Naruto briefly noted that Clarke looked abit paler then usual but looked at the deer unflinchingly.
'Ah the brave leader type who thinks if they don't do it themselves, they can't expect others to do it for them.' Naruto silently thought to himself impressed.
Murphy and few of his cronies looked hungrily at the deer and even appeared to have a sadistic glint in their eyes as Naruto started to skin the deer.
'Ok these guys clearly will do anything to survive and hurting others isn't exactly something they is out of the question.' Naruto mused.
Bellamy held Octavia who was looking away with Bellamy himself gulping and gritting his teeth. Harper had hurled and notably looked away from the deer. Monty and Jasper looked paler but seemed to be willing to watch the demonstration. Wells and Finn were stone faced and didn't look away from the deer.
"Again people who don't want to watch please look away. I will show you guys what kind of plants and berries are edible and when they are ripe. This is just for the people who want to know how to actually preserve the meat so you can eat it later." Naruto stated patiently as he stood up with his arms crossed.
Soon the Skaikru children looked at each as a majority of the group decided to back away with about a third choosing to stick around for the demonstration.
Naruto expertly skinned and portioned out the deer with ease as if he was doing this all his life.
"This is expected for most children once you get to your age to at least be able to skin an animal correctly. It's not like we expect everyone to be able to wrestle a panther to the ground with our bare hands." Naruto joked as he took out the deer's organs tossing them far into the forest with ease.
Naruto could feel Becca's amusement inside his head.
'Well most humans are not like you Naruto. Even before you got my enhancements with your past and current self could have been the 'top dog' of the Ground so to speak.' Becca commented cheerfully.
Naruto mentally pouted making her laugh making him smile.
'Your laughter is rather sweet. It's a shame you didn't get many opportunities to laugh in your first life and now unless you posse me directly no one else can hear your voice.' Naruto thought quietly as unknown to the 100 Naruto eyes were full of sadness. AN4:
'Naruto….' Becca replied with her smiling softly at Naruto's inside Naruto's mindscape and the Flame.
Jasper and Monty gave a nervous chuckle as Clarke gave Naruto a questioning look.
"Why did you toss the organs into the forest?" Clarke asked carefully as Naruto waved him concern off with ease without turning around.
"Don't worry about being polite. Asking questions is a good thing. How else is knowledge passed on without asking?" Naruto commented warmly as he continued to portion out the deer into edible parts and the unusable parts.
Despite looking away from the skinning Octavia smiled with even Bellamy unable to resist a smirk. Wells and Finn nodded in approval.
"Anyways. Just because humans cannot eat these parts of the animal doesn't mean other animals won't eat it. It doesn't sense to me to waste the parts when someone else can use them and survive." Naruto mused before he clicked his teeth.
"That reminds me. When you start doing this yourself, I would recommend tossing the parts and organs far away from your camp." Naruto added as he tossed out several more parts far into the forest.
"Why? If another animal is going to eat the parts anyways, why does it matter where we toss it?" Finn asked with his arms crossed.
'Hmm I sense a tad of jealousy? Perhaps he doesn't like the fact he is not the coolest in this camp? Or perhaps that he has a crush or at least attraction to Clarke who is interested in me?' Naruto mused although he doubted Finn would as much as a problem as John Murphy or his little goons.
'Very perceptive Naruto. I would assume it's a mix of both. He seems to have been a rebel while in space or at least that is the imagine he wants people to think of him as. To see you already used to everything and show him up even unintentionally and without mistrust would cause some bitter feelings to appear.' Becca added helpfully as she could 'sense' through Naruto and with her abilities through the Flame she could make an educated guess.
'Hmm I don't really care to be honest. Heck if Clarke decides she wants brown hair and brown eyes instead of blonde and blue eyes I care live with that. Everyone has their own choices after all' Naruto thought with an uncaring tone making Becca raise an eyebrow in their shared mindscape.
'Heck Queen Nia had a choice and she picked the wrong one and look what happened to the Ice Nation. At least King Roan is sensible enough to not pick a fight with someone he owes his life to and someone who could kill him with one hand behind his back and with his eyes closed.' Naruto mused darkly with his mental self showing a dark and eerily calm smile. AN4:
"Naruto…. You did what you had to do and honestly, I think all the other Commanders would have much less merciful then you if they were in your position." Becca assured him with a calming soft voice that settled Naruto's heart.
Naruto could 'feel' the other Commanders in his mind giving their acknowledgment of Becca's statement with one being much more insistent and harsher.
'Shut up Sheidheda. Like I told you before when you tried to take over my body this is not some sort of arrangement where you can arrange a coup. I can easily erase and get rid of you from the Flame whenever I want. Keep that in mind.' Naruto retorted mentally.
Naruto heard a growl but to Naruto's and Becca's amusement they could 'feel' the Prescence of Sheidheda go quiet as if he was cowering and realized the truth of Naruto's statement.
Naruto blinked before he gestured with his head to the trees above the kids.
"It doesn't matter if you don't mind vultures or other wild animals like panthers or any other man-eating beasts skulking around your camp looking for food." Naruto replied easily as he gathered up the organs and guts and carried them easily in his arms with the blood leaking onto his arms. He seemed so at ease he didn't even seem to mind the gore or the smell of the guts starting to decompose.
"Wait Vultures and other animals are still around?" Octavia asked with barely held back glee with even Bellamy unable to hide a smile.
Naruto gave them an amused smile as he put his hand up and walked away. Soon he returned with his arms wet with water but clean and the smell of the guts gone.
"Sure, when the bombs hit Earth not everything died. Certain animals managed to survive the blasts and later the radiation and passed those genes to animals who are alive today. Vulture, deer, panthers and even fish are just a few of the species who are alive today despite the bombings." Naruto answered back with a soft smile.
"How else do you think my people are still alive today?" Naruto retorted with an ironic smile when he saw the Skaikru children looked bewildered.
"Our ancestors adapted to the radiation in the first wave and over the years those same genes got passed down to our generations. Blood does matter people from the sky." Naruto noted with a fond smile.
Naruto could feel two signs of annoyance from the Flame as he mentally sent a 'sorry' to them.
'I am fully aware of your contribution Becca but I don't want them to know. I respect your privacy and your want to atone without glory.' Naruto assured Becca who pouted but then smiled.
"What about my contributions Naruto? I was both the first Flame Keeper and Second Commander after all?" A new voice chided with a teasing tone. AN5:
Naruto blocked everything out for a moment to appear in his mindscape. Standing besides the beautiful Becca Franko was a beautiful but younger woman Calliope Cadgan who was more commonly called 'Callie' to Naruto and her friends.
"Of course, I didn't forget Lady Callie. Without the blood alterations or Night Blood as we call it now the first generation would have probably still been the last generations. Despite not everyone having Night Blood itself that Night Blood injections it still changed all our ancestors genes to be able to survive on the Ground and eventually through natural selection we all could live on the ground." Naruto replied respectfully mentally bowing to show his respect to the woman.
Ironically both Callie and Becca seemed annoyed at Naruto's behaviour.
"Hmm you seem a lot more formal and respectful to her Naruto." Becca commented with a frown and her hands crossed over her chest.
"Hmph. Poey. I would rather him be much less formal and more familiar like he is with your Becca. Its refreshing that he treats us like equals rather then Gods or Ghosts." Callie pointed out putting her hands on her hips with a pout.
Naruto just smiled and saluted as he blinked back to the real world as he saw how the Sky People children were both fascinated and disturbed at his explanation.
"Despite us talking now doesn't mean the planet doesn't radiation levels higher then before the nuclear bombs went off. It just means that the planet here including your people have adapted to these levels so we can breathe and walk around as if the radiation doesn't matter." Naruto pointed out as he stretched his arms to get rid of a kink in his back.
Naruto smirked when he saw Harper and Octavia lick their lips in appreciation at his muscular arms.
Naruto turned to Finn with a smile as he crossed his arms.
"It was just a suggestion. I just don't personally like having wild animals creeping near where I sleep so that's why I toss the organs out into the forest. Its up to you as I expect in abit at least some of you can skin and butcher animals on your own." Naruto stated looking at Finn expectantly.
Finn rubbed his head and sighed when he realized Naruto seemed like an okay guy.
'He seems to be pretty cool for a Grounder although I guess he is the first one I talked to face to face before.' Finn noted as he decided to give him a chance.
Wells looked rather impressed with Naruto's explanation as Monty and Jasper exchanged an uneasy look.
"Okay that is a good answer! Now we have to build a fire to cook this deer!" Clarke commanded as there was several grunts especially from Murphy and his friends but the group started to split up to find some dry trigs and rocks to start the fire.
Naruto smiled as he watched the dozens of Skaikru children eventually get enough wood and rocks to make a decent campfire and sticks to jab the pieces of Deer meat into the fire.
"Okay good. Now I will let you guys decide how to cut up the deer into pieces among yourselves. I know you are all rather hungry so if you use the entire deer up today I can understand however I would recommend you get used to saving meat for later days. By cutting down how much each person eats in one day at a time." Naruto shouted as he left his knife next to the skinned and gutted deer carcass and stepped away.
The hungry Skaikru children looked surprised at Naruto's words and Murphy decided to take the opportunity to question Naruto's words and make him look bad.
"Why exactly should we cut back on how much we eat? There are plenty of wild animals in this forest, right? Its not like they will go extinct if we eat one every day, right?" Murphy mocked using his hands to gesture to the entire forest.
Naruto rolled his eyes when several boys and girls actually agreed with Murphy but did smile when Clarke and several of the more sensible children looked annoyed at Murphy's attitude.
"Murphy. That's enough. You can back off now." Bellamy warned making Octavia and Naruto pleased that the older boy was at least sensible enough to not intentionally antagonize Naruto.
Murphy raised his hands in surrender but kept his mocking smile as he looked expectantly at Naruto.
"Okay okay. We are still waiting for an answer mighty Grounder. Sorry 'Naruto'." Murphy apologized with a mocking tone making Naruto sigh as Murphy clearly thought Naruto was a savage and not worth of being treated as an equal.
'Dear Gods Murphy is pretentious. He has no idea how lucky that I am the first of my people he has met and that I am actually in charge of the 'Grounders'. His attitude could have easily started a war if I wasn't used to being the better man and listening and not reacting with my first gut instinct.' Naruto mused as he knew several of his commanders like Lexa, Anya or Indra would have taken offense by Murphy or quite a few of the children's attitude ignorant or not.
"They are lucky its you that got the Flame and in charge. From what I can tell if someone else from your conclave was Commander the only ones who might be willing to give Skaikru a chance would be Luna or Lexa. However even they would not have chanced coming in person to their camp to learn and observe. They would at best given warnings about the borders and expected these children to accept or die." Becca commented as she resisted sighing as she found Murphy attitude pretentious as well.
"Well Murphy or can I call you John?" Naruto asked smirking when Murphy growled at the informal use of his first name getting snickers from Harpy, Octavia and Clarke and smirks from Wells, Bellamy, Jasper, Monty and Finn.
"Despite what you think my people are not savages. We do not eat meat every day or at least a lot of it. We do preserve and salt the meat we do get to make it last several days at a time so we are not hunting every single day. There is an ecosystem so we us humans are hunting animals all willy nilly the animals will either run away or no longer have enough numbers to sustain themselves." Naruto explained calmly as he used his arm to gesture to the forest showing he was referring to this ecosystem.
Much to Murphy's annoyance none of the Sky children seemed to have a problem with Naruto's logic which seemed solid and sound especially as Naruto did not raise to his bait and show annoyance with his tone.
'Dammit! If it wasn't one of the grounders I would almost agree with his reasoning!' Murphy silently admitted as he simply 'hmphed' and crossed his arms refusing to reply back.
Naruto smiled in satisfaction as he leaned against a tree looking around.
"Like I mentioned before I will soon have to teach you to look for edible plants and vegetables and which ones are not ripe or poisonous. Even if you like the taste of meat, you will have you will to adapt and live with meat only being a small portion of your daily meals." Naruto stated with a kind but firm tone leaving nothing for discussion.
'Okay he is good. Honestly, I could see Naruto being part of the council if this was the Ark. He knows how to explain things in a calm manner and smooth out ruffed feathers without sounding condescending.' Wells silently admitted showing how impressed he was.
Bellamy seemingly seeing how impressed Octavia decided to take charge once the group made a big fire and had it burning strong enough to cook the deer.
"Ok everyone! We need to gather 99 sticks! One for each of us so we can use them as skewers for each piece of the deer!" Bellamy commanded loudly but when he saw several members look at with uncertainly, he grinned.
"We don't want our hands burning trying to put the meat in the fire and pull it out ourselves, right?" Belamy asked rhetorically making most of the group laugh at his lame joke with even Octavia smiling at her older brother.
As the group went to search for poking/eating sticks Jasper turned to Wells and Monty with a look of confusion.
"Uh 99 sticks?" Jasper asked in confusion as Monty gave his best friend a polite but exasperated look as he patted him on the shoulder.
"Yeah, its pretty simple math. They were 100 of us on the Dropship then two of us died during the crash landing." Monty started before pausing when he saw Wells give a look of sadness at the mention.
"May they rest in peace of course." Monty added hastily making Wells smile at his attempt to cheer his up.
"Then they gets us to 98 but Bellamy stowed away on the Dropship pretending to be a guard so we are back to 99." Monty noted with a somewhat matter of fact tone.
Jasper blinked before he pointed at the amused Naruto with a frown.
"What about Naruto? Doesn't he make 100? Or at least count for the portion size?" Jasper asked quietly but firmly.
Silence seemed to be instantly made in the camp as a pin could be heard from how quiet the camp had become. Naruto instantly frowned as he looked around to see the expressions of the camp.
Bellamy to his credit seemed to be embarrassed he forgot to include Naruto in his count for food portions. Clarke, Harper and Octavia looked outright annoyed their not-so-secret crush was not being counted in their first meal on the ground. Wells and Finn exchanged looks before they turned to Jasper with smiles that Naruto could tell was more of 'But of course Naruto we didn't forget him despite totally forgetting about him.'.
Monty looked surprised but raised his hands in surrender.
"Oh! I am sure Bellamy just bad at math! Naruto does make 100 so we need 100 sticks right Bellamy?" Monty asked with a forced grin.
Bellamy frowned at the comment but smiled quickly as the group looked at him expectantly. He seemed to be more then willing to let the comment go if it made it seem abit forgetful rather then incompetent.
"Yeah, Naruto counts too. Grounder or not he at least deserves to be counted as one of us for all he has done!" Bellamy stated with a nod towards Naruto who blinked.
'Huh did not expect that from Bellamy. I was honestly expecting he would be trying to find a way to not include me if only so he wouldn't have to share the meat.' Naruto thought with slight surprise.
The group had soon returned with many arms full of sticks as they passed out the sticks. Clarke had taken it upon herself to personally stick one of the bigger pieces into the deer to start cooking it. Naruto and her sat side by side comfortably next to the fire as he showed her how to rotate the meat so it would cook evenly and what to look for on when it was cooked.
"It should take too long before it cooks so you can start dividing out the deer using the knife, I gave you guys. You should savour it for tonight as like I said you will have to live with smaller portion sizes soon enough when I show you guys how to forage for edible fruits and vegetables." Naruto remarked as he watched Clarke spin the meat to make sure it wasn't burnt.
The group divided out the sticks so everyone had one with Octavia grabbing a second one and moved next to Naruto much to the chagrin of Harper who looked like she was about to do it herself.
"Here you go Naruto. I picked this one out for you." Octavia purred as she gently held out a stick towards Naruto who looked amused at her blatant attempt to curry favour with him.
Naruto could feel the slight annoyed look from Clarke who to her credit was able to focus on keeping the meat cooked properly to be too annoyed at Octavia. Naruto could also tell that Bellamy wasn't too pleased at Octavia for making a pass at him but kept his mouth shut.
Naruto took the stick with a smile with him not so subtly holding onto Octavia smaller hands with his own making Octavia blush at the contact.
Naruto opened his mouth to thank the pretty younger woman but then to his chagrin he heard a voice he was not pleased to hear speak again.
"Excuse me? Did I miss some memo about him getting to share our food?" Murphy asked in a mocking tone as he tried to make himself look big by standing over the sitting Naruto and Octavia.
'Wow so not impressive even when he is standing Naruto is the one towering over Murphy not only in looks but in overall aura. He is the real man… Man he is so hot… I mean he is so cool….' Harper thought to herself seeing Naruto barely raise an eyebrow at Murphy attempt to be dominant over the grounder.
"Back off Murphy. You are not in charge here." Bellamy warned as he walked over to be next to Naruto in case Murphy tried anything towards Naruto.
'Huh Bellamy is pretty cool. I mean I get he only really cares about his sister but I can see that he has a good heart inside despite trying to be cool.' Naruto thought cheerfully.
Murphy frowned crossing his arms as he looked wearily at Bellamy and even Clarke who was looking at him with annoyance.
"Sheesh this isn't the Ark. Last time I checked there isn't a council or chancellor or is Wells the leader just because?" Murphy retorted as Finn had to hold Wells back from punching Murphy in the face for that comment.
This got snickers from several of the kids especially since most of them did not grow up 'privileged' aka their parents were not on the council or the guard and were just 'normal workers'.
Clarke was not amused and sent a nasty glare at Murphy who gave him a mocking kissing look.
"Aw did Princess get her little feelings hurt? Maybe you should get the Grounder to kiss you better or Jaha junior there?" Murphy mocked although he flinched when Naruto stood up towering over him.
"…. Are you done making an idiot of yourself?" Naruto asked coolly with a barely controlled annoyed expression.
Murphy grit his teeth when this got giggles and laughs from the majority of the group.
"Listen here Grounder. You are not in control here." Murphy claimed as he brought a hand made knife made from metal from the Dropship.
This got gasps from the ground that Murphy was drawing a weapon against Naruto pointing it at Naruto. Naruto for his credit barely raised an eyebrow even when Murphy stepped forward and put the knife against his neck.
"Is this suppose to scare me? To be honest a bear shitting in the woods is scarier than your little knife." Naruto commented lightly barely giving Murphy the time of day.
Murphy growled but gulped when Naruto did give him a side glance as he seemed more interested in chatting with the pretty Octavia over entertaining Murphy.
"One sec Octavia. Your face is much prettier then his but it looks like Murphy is about to spew out of his mouth." Naruto told him warmly making Octavia get flustered.
Naruto quickly disarmed Murphy using two fingers to hold the knife in between them and causally flicked the knife so it sailed past his ear and got embedded in the ground behind him. Murphy gulped as he tried to step back from the annoyed look in Naruto eyes.
Naruto then flicked his him on the forehead using his left pointer finger making Murphy stumble back in surprise.
"Next time you threaten someone or try to make yourself look big at least have something to back it up. If not then all you look like is weak and sad." Naruto warned him as Murphy growled.
This didn't help when Octavia and Harper blushed at how 'cool' Naruto sounded and acted while Clarke had a slight blush which she quickly got under control.
Murphy kept his distance but still showed his discontent with Naruto who sighed crossing his arms.
"Still doesn't make you in charge let alone worthy of taking our food too!" Murphy insisted as several of his lackies including Atom stood next to him. However, majority of the group stayed a health distance away from Murphy much to his chagrin.
"Fine. Then let's make it a vote. That way everyone can have their opinion." Wells said with a sigh as he gave a quick look of apology at Naruto who gave a quick nod.
Murphy smiled widely thinking he had managed to maneuver into a trap. Murphy put his arms out and grinned at the group.
"Alright then. Fair enough. So everyone what do you think? Should we let this GROUNDER have some of the deer which is our first ever or should he hunt for his own food like the HUNTER he claims to be?" Murphy asked loudly with notable emphasis on 'grounder' and hunter'.
Much to Clarke and Octavia discomfort several members of the group actually started to look uncertain at Naruto who only raised an eyebrow and smiled calmly.
'Dammit Murphy is trying to play the 'us vs them' game and make it seem like since Naruto wasn't born on the Ark he is an enemy or at least someone to be wary of. At this rate he might actually get a majority of the group to vote for his idea.' Wells cursed mentally realizing he had played into Murphy's hands by suggesting a vote.
Clarke took a look at her former best friend and could see his worry which was reflected in her own eyes.
Bellamy coughed getting the groups attention as he crossed his arms with a look of annoyance.
"Wait a minute shouldn't we talk about this before voting?" Bellamy tried to suggest but to his annoyance it looked like very few of the majority was eager for that suggestion. AN6:
Murphy eyes seemed to gleam as he raised his fist into the air.
"Do we want to spend another hour discussing this?" Murphy yelled riling up the crowd.
"No!" a majority of the crowd shouted with a few notable exceptions who seemed powerless to the crowd mentality.
"Who's hungry?!" Murphy asked loudly playing on the children hunger.
"We are!" The crowd yelled again.
"Lets vote now!" Murphy shouted as he raised his fist in tandem with the crowd who looked eager as well.
"Vote now! Vote now! Vote Now!" The crowd chanted as Naruto actually clapped looking impressed.
"Huh democracy at its finest." Naruto remarked with a teasing and slightly joking tone.
'How can he be joking at a time like this. At this rate Murphy might convince the group to exile you despite what you have done for the group. He has riled them up he has made himself basically the speaker of the group.' Harper thought in worry of her crush.
Murphy gave Naruto a vicious smile who only smiled politely in return.
'Just you wait Grounder till your ass in back in the woods like you belong. Princess Griffin and Prince Wells won't be able to save you when I get the group to vote for banishment! First things first I have to play on their hunger to not share our food and to isolate him subtly.' Murphy thought happily as he could not stand the idea of a Grounder being part of the group.
'Its us vs them and clearly with our tech we are the superior ones.' Murphy decided ignoring or ignorant of the fact most of the tech of Arcadians was back on the Ark itself and the fact the kids had little knowledge of access to the tech itself.
Octavia, Finn, Wells, Harper, Clarke, Monty, Jasper and even Bellamy looked grim as the crowd was riled up by Monty and overall hunger. Charlotte was not part of the group who was cheering but did send Wells a nasty glare which he didn't notice due to the circumstances.
"Alright ladies and gentleman! Who is in favour of making the Grounder well a Grounder and hunt for his own food?" Murphy shouted with a grin as he saw the crowd on his side.
Before the crowd could actually vote or at least have a shouting contest Naruto leap forward in an impressive jump landing besides Murphy who nearly leapt out of his skin at the sudden impact.
Naruto not so subtly smirked at Murphy cowardice who glared as he tried to get his heavy panting under control.
"Oy! Can I get a word in before you all have some sort of pissing contest on who's the loudest?" Naruto asked politely but firmly as the crowd instantly grew quiet.
Jasper chuckled at the comment while Monty patted him on the back to chide his silly attitude at the timing but could barely keep a smile off his own face.
Clarke looking around seeing the group at least willing to listen now nodded to Naruto who smiled back.
"Don't bother voting. I wasn't going to eat the deer anyways." Naruto informed them calmly much to the surprise of the entire group especially Murphy who looked like a deer in headlights funny enough.
"What does that even mean?" Several loud voices chanted from the back.
Naruto raised an eyebrow as he pointed at Murphy with his thumb.
"Why are you so annoyed? Aren't you the same people who was going to vote so I wouldn't get a portion anyways? I am just speeding things along and taking the choice out of your hands." Naruto asked incredulously making the group shift on their heels uncomfortably.
Naruto then pressed his fist into his open palm in realization.
"Ah I get it. You guys are just annoyed I am taking the choice away from you even if the result is what you wanted right?" Naruto asked slyly with a smirk.
Octavia and Clarke glared at the group who wouldn't meet Naruto's eyes more or less confirming his suspicions. AN7:
Murphy gaped as Naruto seemed to once again be in control but he refused to let Naruto get the last word in due to his pride. As Naruto stretched his arms and about to walk away, he called out to Naruto again.
"Hey you!" Murphy shouted rudely as Naruto stopped to turn to him.
"Yes, is there something else? You made it seem like you guys are super hungry but these interruptions are really only a drain on your stomachs not mine." Naruto asked with an impatient but amused smile making Murphy even more annoyed.
Murphy growled but put on a political smile as he put his arms wide turning to the group.
"Dig in everyone! This grounder says he is too good for our meat so he is more then happy to let us dine in!" Murphy claimed with the group looking at him with raised eyebrows but the vast majority just chose to dine in regardless.
The kids eagerly devoured the pieces of deer nearly salivating at the taste of real meat.
"Gods this taste good!"
"Way better then the junk they gave us on the Ark!"
"How could humans not survive on this every day I will never know!" Voices started to eagerly mix together as the new source of protein was shared with gluttonous delight.
Wells after having eaten a small portion walked up to Murphy who did not hide his own delight for his own piece of meat.
"What do you want Wells? Remember we share and everything like on the Ark? You aren't getting more from my portion just because your dad is Chancellor." Murphy mocked as he smirked at the grinding of Wells teeth.
"You know damn well Naruto didn't mean he was better than us. I don't know what your problem with him is but knock it off." Wells hissed with Murphy just rolling his eyes.
"Tch. Just because he is a grounder doesn't mean I will kiss his ass like you and Princess over there." Murphy claimed as he tilted his head towards Clarke who was slowly eating her deer savouring, the taste unlike a lot of the kids who was chomping on huge portions at once.
Wells looked ready to slug Murphy till Finn pulled his back. Octavia looked at Naruto with sympathy who again didn't seem to take anything personally.
"So, I am guessing the deer is good? I figured this is your first time eating real meat as I don't think they can raise animals in space?" Naruto joked with a carefree smile as he sat down next to Octavia and Harper.
Octavia and Harper gave him giggles before they looked at Naruto and offered their pieces of deer to him.
"You can have some of mine? Murphy isn't the boss no matter how far his face is up his own ass he thinks he is." Harper noted.
"Or you can take some of mine. You did catch the deer after all so if anyone deserves to eat it, it should be you." Octavia offered at the same time.
Naruto shook his head putting his hands up declining their offers.
"Like I said I know how to pick and choose my own food. To me deer isn't nearly as special anymore as it is to your guys. I wouldn't even eat deer every day if deer was infinitely growing in the forest forever as the taste would just vanish for me. Too much of a good thing can be a dangerous thing." Naruto told them wisely as the girls looked down at the pieces of meat with guilt.
"But you should still…." Harper with about to continue before she gasped as Naruto wrapped an arm around her slim waist and smiled lustfully.
"I wouldn't mind swapping spit with you but I think I would rather get it from the source like your beautiful lips rather then have it second hand like eating from the same stick as you my beautiful Harper." Naruto noted with a saucy smirk and a quick sniff of her hair.
Naruto had shifted so his lips and face were right next to Harper's shoulder allowing him to not so subtly smell Harper unique and pleasing scent and body heat. He smelt a hint of peppermint and vanilla which he thought was rather pleasing.
Harper turned scarlet as his lips were right next to her neck allowing the young untouched woman to feel his hot breath against her and for his musky scent to flood her own nose.
'So warm…. So muscular…. So good…' Harper thought absent-mindedly resisting the urge to swoon or perhaps just say 'screw it' and suck face with Naruto giving up her first kiss. It also didn't help when Naruto subtly called her 'his' as if declaring she was not up for grabs which she somewhat enjoyed.
Harper didn't notice Octavia and Clarke gritting their teeth at the not-so-subtle display while most of the boys sighed with looks of jealousy of the attractive teen being flirted with and responding rather positively.
"Again, Naruto has game. If anything, he is game." Monty noted to Jasper who could only nod dumbly in response.
"I wonder if he would teach a class if I asked?" Jasper wondered making Monty sigh and slap a hand over his face in exasperation.
Clarke gave a fake smile as she walked over and not so subtly placed herself in between Naruto and Harper. Harper glared up at the blonde-haired girl while Naruto to his credit just nodded back with his polite smile easily shifting over so Clarke could fit in. Clarke smirked slightly as she pushed Harper away enough so now Naruto would be forced to focus on her.
"If you are done flirting Naruto." Clarke asked with a not-so-subtle fake smile as she barely hid her annoyance.
'Honestly Clarke seems like she would be so easy to tease and flirt with. I am almost tempted to do so just to get a reaction out of her and heck if we end up in her bed afterward who am I to stop fate?' Naruto thought to himself with amusement.
He nearly chuckled when he 'felt' Becca's annoyance from the Flame but he wasn't 100% sure if it was due to the idea of a one-night stand with a maiden or sheer jealously of him admitting he wanted to bed Clarke.
Clarke eyes turned soft as she showed her concern and worry as she gently moved the stick on her hands showing her nervous.
"Are you really going to be, okay? Despite what Murphy thinks there are people here who would be more then willing to share their portions with you." Clarke assured him with a warm smile that seemed to brighten her entire face despite her clear worry in her eyes.
Naruto smile turned softer but more genuine as he let out a soft chuckle.
"Hehe. You really are quite nice Clarke. Maybe its just who you are deep inside but despite people judging you, you seem to truly want to help everyone if you can." Naruto commented looking at her directly in the eyes.
Clarke cheeks turned slightly red at the compliment and how genuine Naruto seemed to be with such simple and kind words.
'Gods I don't think he is actually flirting with me but his words still set my heart racing. Sheesh I have to keep myself under control or else he might actually convince me to lose my virginity just like that. I only met him after all! I am not someone who just gets a boyfriend out of the blue let alone just sleep with someone for my first time with a snap of my fingers!' Clarke thought to herself trying to calm her heart down and not blush up a storm.
Bellamy just raised an eyebrow as he saw Octavia glaring at the older girls with notable jealously.
'I know I can't control Octavia or anything but honestly, I would rather any other girl fall for Naruto then her. He doesn't seem like a bad guy but Octavia is my little sister and I cannot bring myself to just step aside and have her just have a one night stand out of nowhere. My sister my responsibility after all.' Bellamy thought to himself drily.
Naruto charming smile turned soft again as he used his arms to gesture to the entire forest.
"Like I said for people like my people can find food anywhere. Whether it's the forest, the sea or heck even a dessert. We always find a way to survive. That is how we live. We find a way even if its distasteful on a personal level." Naruto assured Clarke as he briefly patted her on the shoulder making her gasp.
Naruto smile got playful as his eyes seem to shine with amusement.
"He wouldn't let our people starve especially if it was a simple case of people enjoying the taste of meat was the only thing preventing us from scavenging for plants and other edible sources or nutrition. Of course not each other or anything but plants are born for a reason right?" Naruto mused out loud as an imagine of himself in his commander armour with a calm look giving commands to his leaders of the villages and commanders of his armies.
"Him? Him who?" Finn asked with narrowed eyes even as Naruto just seemed to shrug him off with a wave of his hand.
"Oh, you know. Someone I feel based on what I have seen someone you guys could get along with but who knows. Perceptions can be misleading. People are out to get what's best for themselves and their own people and friends. The trick is finding a way to get the best for both sides or at least live with what has to be done so as little discomfort is given." Naruto replied with a knowing smirk.
Wells had a look of deep concentration as he looked at Naruto wearily out the corner of his eyes.
'That kind of answer is one my dad would give to be as neutral as possible. A politically correct answer that doesn't truly show which side of an issue he is leaning towards but makes people think he is on their side and not the other side.' Wells thought to himself knowing his father Chancellor Jaha constantly make compromises with the Council despite being the 'leader' of the 'Sky People'.
Wells shook his head as a thought entered his mind.
'Could Naruto be some sort of leader of the Grounders? No… That's impossible. He looks our age and nobody would follow someone that young to make decisions on behalf of an entire group of people. Heck knowing the council they will probably override any decisions our group makes when they come down even if all of the kids here agree on laws and order. Its just how the world works.' Wells thought deciding to deny the possibility that Naruto was the leader of the Grounders.
Naruto gave Harper a kiss on her soft hand making her blush as she had to resist the urge to kiss him there and then regardless of who was around. He grinned at Octavia and Clarke along with a wink much to the annoyance of the boys around the girls especially when said girls had pink cheeks.
"Well, I better head out to find my dinner. Enjoy the deer especially you John. You probably need it most being the most manly man here in the group right?" Naruto joked with a mocking smile as Murphy growled especially when several of the group snickered at the joke.
Murphy was about to slug Naruto while he was walking away till Naruto stopped. Naruto turned around slightly so Murphy could see his smile and closed eyes.
"Try it. I dare you. On the ground the strong survive so prove that you are stronger me. Come on John. Show us what kind of man you really are." Naruto taunted as his smile turned back as Murphy could only see half of his smile but it seemed to be chilling.
Wellls looked like he was about to intervene till Bellamy shook his head and put his arm out.
'Don't. It's their fight.' Bellamy mouthed out as Wells frowned but nodded crossing his arms.
Murphy raised a arm up with a fist cocked but then shuddered as his instincts started to tell him to stay away.
'What the hell is this? Is this freak making me afraid with his back turned to me? There is no way! I am not afraid of some Grounder let alone a kid like me!' Murphy thought in denial.
"Tch. You aren't worth it Grounder. I am going back to enjoy MY deer in peace so you better get out of here." Murphy claimed as he scoffed to preserve face that Naruto scared him to death without actually doing anything.
Naruto shrugged as he turned back around with his back turned to Murphy and the 100 once again.
"Alright. Your choice. Can't make you not a coward if you want to flee. Nothing wrong with being a coward or anything but you should try to act abit more humble. Might be better for your health." Naruto suggested slyly.
"Also, this is for anyone. If anyone wants a spar you can freely ask for one. I will take on any challengers at any time. Just don't cry if you are lying on the ground with a broken arm or kick to the shin. You ask for a fight you better be ready for some pain." Naruto assured them before waving at them.
Naruto left and unseen to the others he dashed fast enough to leave a blur.
'Hehe not a bad group of kids after all. There are some bad apples but they can either change or be left behind. I wonder if the adults and other kids up there in space are like them? Or are they just power hungry and willing to start a war they can't finish?' Naruto mused as he leaned against a tree having picked an apple of nowhere and chewing on it loudly.
AN2: I didn't get to show it in chapter 3 but basically after the conclave was over and Naruto slept, he met Becca properly as he 'chose her' from the Commanders. Then he realized Becca was a babe and stole a first kiss inside their mindscape and turns out it was both their first kiss (at least for Naruto in this body). As Becca was the most 'compatible' of the Commanders saved in the Flame. Plus, Becca would imply that she herself chose to greet Naruto.
AN3: Yes Clarke was attracted to Naruto in chapter 2 but that doesn't mean she is ready for him to flirt and touch her physically. Naruto admits he went over the line (as just because Harper and Octavia enjoyed it doesn't mean all girls will enjoy his advances)
AN4: Naruto is more or less referring to King Roan's current position. Keep in mind the 'King' title.
AN5: I know more then likely in canon due to Callie wanting to GIVE the flame to a chosen one she probably didn't take it herself but in this story she took the Flame to protect it and to pass on the knowledge to the Next Flame Keeper and Commander. She manifested in the Flame at the age wanted aka when she first took the Flame hence she is around 20 like on the show despite dying later in life.
AN6: Remember this isn't late season 1 or first half season 3 Bellamy who had the 'us vs them' mentality due to his bad experiences with the Grounders. Naruto being rather friendly and helpful makes Bellamy (at least towards Naruto) much more open to reason. It really helps Naruto actually saved Jasper instead of hanging him out to die.
AN7: I will admit I did intend for Murphy to get the vote in but only a minority of people mostly his goons would actually vote yes (like in the Charlotte episode) but I figured that no matter how nice Naruto is the kids don't know him. Why stick up for him especially as it would mean less meat for them (who are hungry and not really thinking rationally).
