Chapter 9: Awakening

The next day, all four brothers were waiting patiently as their youngest brother was still resting, the bow still held tightly in his hands. After what their uncle told them last night, the four didn't know what to think of the situation. They clearly couldn't stay in Karakura Town since the soul reapers would be after them there, but they didn't know where else to go. After everything that has happened now, the least they could do was wait for their little brother to wake up so they could go from there. It worried them to no end when Ichigo was still unconscious after everything that has happened so far, but from what their uncle explained, siphoning off that much spirit energy without any formal training would be a massive strain on the body.

Vas stood up from his chair and began to stretch. "I'm gonna go and get something to eat." He looked to the others. "Any request?"

Rei, who was sitting in a chair near the wall with his arms crossed, simply said. "Dango sticks."

Vas nodded, knowing his older brother only ate those when stressed. "Shiro, G?"

Shiro sighed as he looked to Vas. "Just a burger. Don't really give a shit what's on it."

G, who was still next to Ichigo's bed, spoke up. "I could go for some cup ramen right now."

"What flavor?" Vas asked as G was rather picky with the flavor of ramen sometimes.

"Uh... I guess pork." G hesitated a bit as he thought it over for a time.

Vas rolled his eyes a bit before leaving the room to acquire their food. As he walked down the halls of the hospital and greeting everyone he ran into, Vas couldn't stop thinking about everything that has happened this past week. Ichigo being captured by soul reapers. The four of them invading and taking their younger brother back. The rain that drained away at reiatsu. Now, the bow that their uncle told them about. The second oldest out of the group shook his head as this whole thing was really gonna give him a migraine in the coming times.

'At least we can get outta here and be safe somewhere else.' Vas thought to himself as he went to the food court to grab everyone's food.

The court was a large room with many tables all around and various foods on the tables. As Vas went to those tables, he felt an odd presence not too far away. Bringing his spirit energy down almost completely as not to be detected, Vas continued to act normal as not to draw any suspicions.

'Two, now three.' He thought to himself as he could feel three sets of eyes looking around the room. 'Not soul reapers, they feel too hollow-like.'

Vas continued to act normal and gather the food, wary of just who in the hell these people could be. Finishing his original task, Vas made his way to the door to leave and inform his brothers of what he felt here. No doubt that at least Rei felt it too. Vas took the time to give a quick look around as he walked on and noticed that the three had left before he could identify them. If he was lucky, they probably assumed that their target wasn't here or something of the sorts. Though Vas had his doubts on that.

As Vas entered the room his family was in, he went wide eyed when he saw that G was hugging a conscious Ichigo all the while overreacting like how a mom would. Rei and Shiro were also at his side, happy that Ichigo had finally woken up.

"Well, looks like I missed all the fun." Vas started as he entered the room with a smile on his face.

Ichigo looked up to his older brother and gave a weak smile. "Hey Vas."

The long haired man smiled. "Morning sleeping beauty."

Short, but gonna end this chapter here just to get the ball rolling again. The three figures will be explained a little later, probably in the next chapter.

Been pretty depressing times as of late with whats going on in China and now in California. I hope everyone all around is doing fine and healthy, and to anyone living in the most highly active spots in the world, please take care of yourselves and all of that. Hate to end this short chapter with a semi-depressing, real life PSA of sorts, but that's unfortunately how the world is right now.
