"Your looking at that bracelet like I look at cheese," Plagg told Adrien. "And you've been staring at it for almost an hour now!" Adrien sighed, happily. "That's because this bracelet is from Marinette. Who knew we have so much in common." "Ooh, do I feel a competition between your Princess and M'lady?"
"No, Plagg. Marinette is just a friend, but that doesn't mean she's not special. She's very special, extraordinary actually. But how can I show her that with a gift?" Adrien asked, his eyes going to the red paper heart he'd cut out earlier. It wasn't Valentine's Day, and now it seemed kinda tacky.
"Don't you still have that cheesy picture of you two pretending to blow kisses at one another?" Adrien nodded. "So, get a gold heart locket and put the pictures on each side." "Great idea, Plagg! But it might cut into your cheese money," Adrien grinned, standing up.
"Anything to make that sappy face go away," Plagg groaned.
When Adrien got home, he went right to work, cutting and gluing. He had one hiccup were his fingers stuck together, but with Plagg's help they finally came free.
It was late when Adrien finished, and he carefully set out to dry on his computer desk. "I hope she likes it," Adrien whispered as he snuggled down under his blankets. "She'd better!" Plagg grumbled, settling down in Adrien's hair.
Adrien was nervous when he found Marinette in the locker room the next morning, rearranging her books. "Hey, Marinette? I made something for you." Marinette looked surprised. "Its not my birthday." "I know," Adrien blushed. "But I...think about you often, and….how about you just open it."
Nice save before you say something really silly, Adrien said to himself as Marinette lifted the lid to the box. "A locket? Thank you!" "Look inside," Adrien told her shyly. "Oh, Adrien. Its us." Marinette touched a hand to her cheek, then looked up at him. "Will you help me put it on?"
Adrien did so, and Marinette touched the locket. "And now I have a surprise for you." "Oh?" Adrien raised eyebrow. It was his turn to be surprised when Marinette bounced up on tiptoe and kissed his cheek.
"See you in class!" she darted away, before he had a chance to react. Hm, maybe Marinette wasn't just a friend!
