"Students, we have a new pupil starting today," Mr. D, Adrien's fencing teacher said, as he strode back and forth. He paused when he got to Adrien. "Will you be her partner, Agreste?" "I'd love to," Adrien smiled, as he liked meeting new people.
"Now, without further ado, let me introduce you to Marinette Dupain-Cheng!"
The class clapped and Adrien's smile grew wider. Marinette was joining their class? How pawesome was that?! "Hey, Adrien," Marinette squeaked as she sat down beside him. "Hey, I've glad we're partners. Come on, I'll show you the basics."
Adrien went through every step slowly and patiently and he was impressed at how quick Marinette was picking things up.
"All right, fencers!" Mr. D said. "You've gone through the warm-ups, and its time to fence!"
"Come on, Marinette. Your supposed to touch me," Adrien lifted his visor and gave Marinette a lopsided grin. "Touch you?" she giggled. "Yeah. Like this? Like this?" she poked Adrien with her plastic saber and the pair burst into giggles, then settled down when Adrien caught Mr. D eyeing them.
After class, Adrien slung his arm around Marinette's shoulder. "Great job out there today. Say, I don't have to be home for awhile? You want to hang out?" "Sure. We could to my place and watch a movie."
Adrien saw Marinette growing tired as they watched the movie, and risking it, put an arm around her shoulder and shuffled her in close. "Cozy," she muttered, snuggling into his side. After the movie, there was a story about Ladybug, and Adrien noticed Marinette sit up. "Don't worry, Ladybug and Cat Noir keep Paris safe. But if something happens at school and their not around, I'll protect you, Princess."
Marinette raised her head. "Princess?" Adrien knew he had to cover quickly, as that was the nickname he used for her as Cat Noir. "I mean, I'm no Prince, but I do like saving girls in distress."
Marinette giggled, giving him a soft poke. "I beat you today." "That's because your so beautiful, and you distract me." "I think your beautiful too, Adrien," the words slipped out.
Oh, cheese and crackers, what to do! A kiss. A kiss would surely do the trick, and with heart beating wildly Marinette kissed him. "What was that for?" Adrien asked playfully, playing with a lock of her hair.
"Oh, just thanking you in advance," she said.
Adrien relived the day when he got home, thinking of how much more special fencing would be from now, and it had a little someone named Marinette Dupain-Cheng.
